I spent 25 years in food and beverage management. We just moved to the area and was looking for a poke place, with great reviews. We are Foodies at heart and love supporting local businesses. Please, this is feedback for the business to improve, and protect customer safety. Location was great in a little strip mall area. Disappointed with dirty tables, an off putting smell and burned out light bulbs. 2 young male employees were chatting behind counter. No customers in store. Menus were sticky and dirty, and were politely asked if it was our first time and why there were different menus. One had sushi, the other poke. The poke items were behind a glass barrier for all to see( like Subway), and selections were so sad with carrots that were dried up looking and other items did not look great. In a Sushi or poke place it is number #1 to present your food quality and selection with only the best. Customers are eating raw seafood items and want to see that your food prep and display are on point. My husband gave the poke a 6/10 for his 3 protein bowl. He said "portions were small, no furikake, selections for condiments were lacking. The 3 different types of tuna were fine". I ordered the 2 protein bowl. I got spicy tuna and shrimp. I asked for only a 1/2 cup of brown rice but mostly salad. The employee the squatted down out of my vision with bare hands, opened the cooler and the came back up with pretty wilted salad greens. He continued to ask me what I wanted , and I too skipped over many selections due to how they looked in the fresh bar. The shrimp was overcook and like rubber bands with a strange aftertaste. I gave my bowl a 2/10. I then excused myself and went to the restroom in rear of buisness. An older employee had just come out of employee entrance door to kitchen wiping his hands on his pants. The bathroom door was disgusting and obviously had not been cleaned in months for all customers eating to see. Remember, this is a restaurant that serves raw food. It should reflect a standard of cleanliness and maintenance to protect the customer. Once inside, the smell was so offensive that I thought" that must be coming from the sewer drain, or........." as I looked around I was repulsed at the condition of the bathroom. An old baby changing station with a stained cloth changing pad was in bathroom as well. Litter all over floors, puddles of stained urine at base of toilet. Floors not mopped. Surfaces had not been cleaned in months. A rusty, filthy garbage can that sat next to toilet, the list goes on. I kept saying to myself "oh no, this is not good because if they lack total knowledge how to keep their customers safe, what and how are they prepping their raw seafood for consumption?" It was all I could do to get that bathroom out of my mind to go eat my poke bowl. Once you opened bathroom door, the smell followed me to my sticky table. I stopped between bathroom and table as I saw the 2 younger employees standing around behind a small storage wall chatting and notified them of bathroom issue. They did not respond. We were only customers in restaurant. I observed after 10 mins( still no other customers) that one employee walked in bathroom and walked immediately out with no attention to the issue. In all my 25 years of food service, I've never seen a worse bathroom, let alone after you pointed out it needed attention, that nothing was done. Our food was was subpar and we were really dissatisfied as the reviews had been the opposite. My recommendations: 1. Clean your bathroom DAILY, especially since it is the only bathroom and both men, women and children use it. No exceptions. If you are keeping a baby changing area, it needs to be a hard cleanable surface, not with a fences and urine stained pad. 2. Clean and repair issues in plain sight of customer and behind in kitchen. 3. No bare handing of food! No exceptions. Put salad in cold case where all can see. Not out of hidden area behind counter. Not acceptable. 4. Employee training on how to handle concerns or complaints. 5. Better selection of poke condiments. They were pretty sad. Like I said before, take this advice and I promise you will get a better reputation and more revenue as you display how much you care about the customer and the restaurant experience. I paid over $50.00 to go out ( a huge treat retired these days)once a week and that place needs attention. BTW.... That was yesterday 6/3/26 and my husband and I both woke up this morning to grumbling bellies and diarrhea. Coincidence??? I want to love the place, but it is a huge pass for me in the future unless they take action to remediate issues above. read more

Sooo soooo good! I am from Phoenix and made a trek here since I have heard good things and I am sad it's sooo far away. It's a family owned restaurant and they truly care for their customers. I asked one of the owners how they are liking running the restaurant and was told serving people day in and day out, seeing all the regulars who go there and have Mom's Poke be a part of their day is giving them a lot of satisfaction in what they do. And this sentiment truly shows with the quality of food that they provide. You'll never go wrong whether you get sushi, poke, or a rice bowl. They also sell bomb ass desserts as well! The fish tastes amazing, the rice is always well-cooked, and the menus are well designed. On top of having great sushi and poke bowls, we love their desert and drink selection! The staff is extremely friendly, and they take great care when handling food allergies or restrictions. Their music choice and furniture design works well with the overall vibe, and if you have little ones, their restroom has a real changing table! Not the ones that are always broken or dirty. This was our first time here. We came for our daughter's birthday and it did not disappoint! We ordered sushi, yakisoba noodles and ramen which were all delicious. I also tried the Las Vegas Roll and honestly, it was even better than I could have imagined. Creamy, crispy, flavorful... just wow. The Alaska Roll? So fresh and light, it actually made me happy with every bite! But what really set this place apart was the service. My husband and I were chatting about how much we love ramen but wanted to try other things, and the chef himself came over and offered us a sample of one of his broths. That thoughtful gesture made our night, and now we can't wait to come back and try the ramen next time. Noticed this place got some pretty good reviews so we made the 30 minute drive to try this place out--and so glad we did! Right when we walked in we were greeted by the guy working in the front and he was gracious enough to take the time to explain the menu to us since we were first timers. Now to the food! We started out with the jalapeño poppers and Spicy Tonkatsu ramen. The poppers had a nice crunch from the tempura and fresh jalapeño that was used. The ramen hit the spot and the spice was perfect. As we were finishing up, we had 3 sushi rolls coming out and had to figure out how we were going to make space for all this delicious food! The three rolls we got were The William, Jolly Roger and Godzilla. These rolls were straight fire!! The chef was kind enough to come out from the kitchen and check in on us which I thought was pretty cool. This is officially our favorite sushi/ramen spot! I can't wait to go back and try the poke and the other rolls that they have on their menu! read more

The beef bulgogi is a winner. I went a little off-menu and ordered it with the half rice, half salad mix that they offer on the poke bowl side of things and that was 100% the move. The ratio of rice to meat from places like this is always way off so the salad helped to keep it from being too super filling and also added a nice crunchy texture to round out the fatty shaved meat and sweet bulgogi sauce. The gyoza appetizer is nothing to write home about (seemed like frozen gyoza that had been dropped in the deep fryer) but if you're desperate for a bite before your main is ready, it wasn't bad. The restaurant was clean, the young people working behind the counter were friendly and helpful... All in all, it was a nice quick, easy meal to keep us from being hangry at the grocery store. This place has been on my "to try" list and recently I was able to give it a try. I had high hopes for Mom's Sushi and Poke, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to expectations. The gyoza I ordered came out hard and over-fried, though the flavor inside was decent. It's also a bit disappointing that sauces are extra and drinks come in cans instead of being available on tap. I tried the chicken teriyaki, which was just okay. The sauce tasted store-bought, and the chicken was on the dry side--nothing too memorable. My husband had the beef bulgogi, though, and that was a winner--tender, flavorful, and something I'd definitely order again. I also tried their crunchy sushi roll, but honestly, I only managed a couple of bites. It didn't have the texture or taste I was expecting. As for the tonkatsu ramen my husband ordered, it had a strong fishy odor that was very off-putting, and the flavor didn't really match the pork-based dish we were hoping for. He didn't get far with it. All in all, Mom's Sushi and Poke is quite pricey for what you get, and in my opinion, it doesn't justify the cost. On the plus side, the girl behind the counter made an effort to explain the menu, which was a nice touch. Would I return? Probably not, but I might come back just for the beef bulgogi. read more

Came in with my wife cuz I was craving some ramen. Another reviewer said this was the best ramen they'd ever had and they were from socal, so that bought them some cred. Couldn't disagree more. It's quite possibly the WORST ramen I've ever had. I ordered the tonkotsu super spicy, tonkotsu is supposed to be a pork broth. This smelled fishy and tasted fishy. It has Naruto ( fish cake) which I've had plenty of times before but it doesn't affect the broth taste. At first I thought I was smelling the tempura rolls my wife got but my wife asked if I got some type of fish stew. That's how potent the smell was. My wife ordered the teriyaki bowl which was ok, the only shining star was the bulgogi bowl I got. We both liked that. The only reason they got 2 stars and not 1. We also got gyoza, which were ok to me but my wife didn't care for them. Also they're quite pricey and for them to charge for extra sauces is ridiculous. I asked for some Sriracha and was told that normally they charge for that. Mind you, we just finished paying over $70 for 2 bowls, ramen with some extras, gyoza, 1 roll and 3 drinks ( bottled) tip not included. I definitely won't be coming back and do not recommend them at all. I genuinely wonder how they have such a good rating. read more

Ok. I've been a few times and generally, the staff behind the counter is super friendly and welcoming. This past week, Isabella took the cake. This particular day, it was the busiest I've seen this restaurant be. I visit family once a month. Isabella was greeting every customer walking in and thanking every customer who was leaving after their meal, even while she was in the middle of helping someone or me. Not sure what it was about that day but my bowl was extremely delicious. I knew exactly what I wanted and Isabella was so great at capturing every single ingredient I mentioned, without forgetting. Honestly, even though she has no control over what the ingredients taste like, that bowl tasted like it was made with love. I was very impressed with the level of customer service and knowledge Isabella displayed. I love the wallpaper design and the whole place feels relaxing and open.
