I am highly disappointed with their selling practices here. First of all, I noticed that they do not display any price tags! You have to ask the person-in-charge whenever you want to know the price. From our experience, the pricing for the same design changed twice. On two different days, we asked the same person for the same design and got two different answers. This will not have happened if they display the price tag. On our second visit, there were two people here; one person was a huge guy who seems to be friendly and approachable. When we asked him about the pricing, he gave us a lower price and was even willing to provide us with a discount! The first guy was slim and tall; I don't think he should be doing customer service as he was snarky to my husband and me during our two visits. Although to be fair, I appreciate that he helped my husband carry the stones back to our car. The second thing I noticed was that they were not following the safety protocols set by the county for businesses. There were no reminders for people to stay six feet apart, and the business owners were not even wearing any face cover! I do felt that it was very disrespectful and careless of them. They do have an exit and entrance signage that we found helpful. I am leaving them a one star because of their pricing issues, lack of price tags, snarky customer service, and lack of respect for the county's health and safety protocol. Absolutely amazing prices for their SPC flooring! We were looking for Vellichor specifically and it was about $0.50/sq ft cheaper than the other places we found in the area. Initially when we asked to borrow samples they said they don't do that, but after asking a lot more questions I think they saw we were serious buyers and let us borrow samples for a couple of days, for free, which we really appreciated. We ended up purchasing with them and we are very happy with the end product. The only thing to mention is that I did have to be proactive throughout the process to know what was happening. I had to call to find out when they got it, I had to call to schedule pickup, and then I played a bit of phone tag when it turned out that it was being delivered. He was patient, and the most important thing, he did not try to trick us for money. I fell in love with ledger stone that costed $4 per sqft, but the material would not be in stock til the next 2 weeks. So the alternatives were between $6 and $5 price range. Turned out he checked the warehouse, took our measurement and found that they did have the material that we wanted. Scored some saving for us, plus we got the material that I wanted. Lots of variety to choose from. The ones that are in boxes are cheaper than the wall ones because those you have to order. Most of the tiles in the back room are from $4.5-$6.5. Not a bad price. Service isn't always there but they do give refunds and credit if you have a whole box unused. I love the tile we got for the fireplace it was cheaper by a ton compared to other stores. read more

I really liked the selection of material here at Hera. You need to explore and go all the way back to the store. This is where I found my beautiful entryway tile and bath tile. I was very happy with the help I received. I don't like to be hovered over but I like to browse at my own pace. I ended up buying my wood flooring there too. Hakan is willing to work with your budget and the tile/floor quality is way better than any big box store and the prices are better. That's what you get when you deal directly with the owner. Was redoing my two bathrooms and did lot of shopping for stones. This was the place where I could find the Travertine stone what I wanted. I bought about couple of hundred sq ft of Philadelphia blue travertine stone and they allowed me to hand pick the stones from the pallet and that helped me to get the best stones as possible. Ordered few tiles on Thursday. Owner said you can pick it up on Friday. I actually went on saturday, to my surprise the guy said it is not yet ready come back on Monday. Not a big deal. Just to be safe i called on Monday. The owner said it's ready i can pick it up from the warehouse next street. I said fine. Went to the warehouse next day, it's actually not a warehouse but another mosaic store. I asked them about order they said they never received one from Hera tile. And here is the BEST part, the tiles we ordered was discontinued 6 months ago. Wonderful. I went back to get my money back and he did return it (therefore he gets one star). However no apologies on what happened, no explanation on why he didn't place the order and no explanation on why he lied that the order was ready to pick up the previous day. Very rude behavior and didn't feel safe at that point, so just left. They have good collections of tiles but no customer service. If you're ordering at this place, make the payment only after you received the materials. read more

But the seller is very rude and impatient, they even didn't give us the receipt and make the deal price so different than before. I have done a lot of business in the home remodeling industry in the Bay Area, especially in San Jose and Hera Tile and Stone is my first pick for material shopping every time I am considering bringing clients, recommending a shop to friends, or buying for myself. First, I would like to point out the style of the showroom and their selling point is very similar to Costco. They are not here to sell you on a fancy showroom and markup their products accordingly. They are direct and to the point with the materials they offer which are the same quality as a high end brands which have high markups. Again similar to Costco, they might not have the prettiest showroom but they do have the best prices and majority of styles and materials you will find elsewhere in the Bay Area. Similar to Costco's loyal and happy customer base,over the past 5 years I have seen consistently happy customers always going to the Hera Tile and Stone and coming back with more clients after their first experience. This style of service may not be for everyone, and I recommend bringing your contractor or designer with you if you do not know much about picking out home remodeling materials. But I can Guarantee, and ask your Contractor/Designer what they say, and I bet you they will agree that the prices are the best if not matching your best offer and they have in stock more materials than most stores which means no waiting. Same day pickup for majority of the items they sell. I am not Guaranteeing they are perfect and have everything. But I am Guaranteeing that you will not regret stopping by and giving them a chance. P.S. Try and talk with Hakan if you can, he is sometimes Busy but he has helped me a lot with my projects and He is very honest which I find is rare in this industry. read more

I have giving poor reviews but coming to Hera was basically coming to a giant stone yard without anyone there to help. They only reason for getting 1 star is for the selection, they have a ton of beautiful stuff. I came in to look for tile and the guy IGNORED me completely. I tried to get his attention and nothing, so I figured I should just pick out a few samples that I liked and try to ask him at once how much each tile costs. I tried to get his attention multiple times and still nothing. I mean sure I was super casual without makeup on but come on! I'm here to shop for tile and assuming that I'll have to carry it all myself (I only needed 8 square feet so it was manageable) so I don't want to come in wearing nice clothes. I bought some flooring material from them thinking they are giving it at a very good price. After going there for for reducer and stair nose pieces I realized they randomly jack up prices. They sold few reducers for $50 a piece and after few days when I wanted some more pieces they increased it to $90. That is when I realized how bad they are. They have some flooring material marketed as "Monaco Ville Series" this is nothing but a brand name picked to fool you so that you don't find it elsewhere and they can command whatever price they want. This product is actually Genuine Hardwood Floors by Amazon Wood Floors. If you are planning to buy Amazon Wood Floors avoid Hera Tiles, go straight to Kapriz Hardwood Floors. They are 20% cheaper for the same material and they are a fixed price shop unlike Hera stone where they change the price based on who they are dealing with. read more

This company treated my clients with complete d isgrace. I would not recommend them to anyone. There opinions are not professional and contradict the contractors that send you there. The contractor asks for a certain size, they ask why, then they tell you your contractor does not know what there doing. Contractors have a license for a reason. When I questioned the sales man on simple things they should know about installation and asked if he would back it up with a signature, he said he wasn't even sure of what he said. Then when I told him he was un professional to say a licensed contractor did not know what he was doing and that my clients should get a second opinion, all he could say was, "Whatever, I dont need your business." These people make complete fools of themselves. I was ashamed to even walk my clients into such a store. I only gave them one star because there was no negative stars to mark. Very disappointed with this company. They do not care about the customers. We've gone in to pick out material for some work we are having done in our backyard. Turk had told us that he would deliver us the material that supposedly wasn't in stock. Thursday comes around and nothing was delivered. We called them many times and they kept saying the next day the next day. That "next day" rolls along and Turk tells us his truck had broken down. My father sends someone out to personally pick up the material and they tell him there is no material in stock. Turk was extremely rude he started to take the situation as a joke. He refused to give us the money back until we went personally. He hid from us so we had to talk to Hakan. Also very rude. We do not recommend any one to come here. As a company you should care about your customers and have them walk out happy & not highly upset. read more

Wow, reviews are all over the place for this shop. I was actually next door and wandered over here. I actually couldnt even tell if they were open to the public but they are. I am surprised by all the negative reviews. I went here three times because I am incredibly indecisive. I was helped by Ernesto and by the gal with a very pretty name, Javanna or Jasana or something like that. They were INCREDIBLY helpful and really knew what they were talking about. I am clueless on material, size, and what goes with what. They took their time and helped me put together an entire bathroom (floor, shower walls, base, accents, etc). Really took their time explaining the differences in material, what works best, and what would look great. Their suggestions on material and design came out better than I could have dreamed of. Their knowledge is valuable...you don't get that often where people actually have a clue what they are selling. Ernesto in particular was an expert. He also spent time explaining how and what to seal the travertine with. I looked into the products he suggested (which they don't even sell so he was genuinely being honest and helpful) and his suggestions were spot on. Pricing seemed great too. Quality of the material was superb. I suppose the only issue we ran into was they said the material would be ready for pickup within an hour but they didn't call until the next day. I'm sure if we actually needed it sooner they would have gotten it ready but we weren't in a rush anyways. I will definitely return here for the next stone/tile project. read more

I have purchased travertine and onyx tiles from Hera Tile and Stone for 2 bathrooms, one in my old home and one in-progress in my new home. When I first arrived at Hera almost 2 years ago, I was unsure of which tiles and patterns to use. Turk, one of their sales guys, gave me some great ideas. I bought the tile and did the bathroom. We liked the look so much, we're using essentially the same tile for the new bathroom. When I came back with my original receipt, nearly 2 years old, Turk gave me almost the same deal (only 50 cents more per sq. ft.). Hera tile and stone is a no-nonsense place. When it gets busy, it can be hard to get the help you need. It not like going to a building materials store in Palo Alto or Los Gatos. But, you won't pay PA or LG prices, either. If you want nice stone at a great price with solid advice on color schemes and layout, Hera Tile and Stone is your place. It's even better if you know exactly what you want. I would always check here first before looking elsewhere for stone, and purchase what you see on the lot. That way, you know exactly the color, look, feel, and quality of what you're getting. Very poor customer service. We went there to look for tiles and stones for our yard remodel. The guys who asked if we needed help, were always running to another part of the store every time we needed to get answers. It became impossible to have a conversation with them for even a couple of minutes.. They were rude and had no stock of the patterns we liked. When we asked if they would place an order for it, they refused. They gave us one quote in the morning and the same tiles were priced a dollar per sq ft higher by the afternoon, when we went to look at the tile colors again, just to be sure. The actual stones are in front so you can check the actual quality before buying. The prices is good (there are no price tags do haggle). We visited Hera Tile & Stone for shopping Travertine floor tile as well as mosaic for our accent wall. For lack of better term, their customer service plain sucks. They have a good collection of tiles, but their interaction with customers leaves a lot to be desired. There were a couple of guys sitting occasionally behind the reception area, but no one was courteous enough to ask anyone if they needed any help, or had any questions. When we asked questions regarding various mosaics for the accent wall, they seemed quite impatient in responding. I was willing to splurge a fair bit as we were in the middle of our renovation, but with this lackluster attitude shown by Hera Tile & Stone i'll just take my business someplace else. We finally ended up shopping at Tez down the street for some quality tiles and were pleasantly surprised with great customer service.
