I wish I saw the negative reviews before. I only bought small quanity of travertine tiles for kitchen backsplash, so it's not a lot of money. Now that we are opening all the boxes I see that most of the tiles are either broken or not smooth. I know it's a natural stone but why in home depot and lowes they are much smoother? This seems like second or third grade quality. I'll probably end up going to HD to buy some more tiles. I'm glad i didn't purchase a floor tiles from them. the price was dirt cheap and I just stumbled on them. Be careful when you buy from them, check everything that you're getting, they will replace it on the spot but once you leave the place that's it, no refunds. read more

I should have read the negative reviews, as I experienced the same kind of awful behavior from this company. I was working with Ernesto, who seems to be a good guy, but unfortunately decisions are made by his boss who is not only disrespectful and pushy, but also dishonest. I was going to buy 3,000 sqft of travertine for both my front and back patios, and I planned to do it in 2 stages. I ended up buying 1,600 sqft first and when the first batch was delivered I found a lot of broken pieces. As I was completing my first project, I ran out of some pieces so when I called Ernesto to buy them he started pushing me to buy a lot more saying that someone else was interested in those tiles. In order for them to sell me those additional pieces he needed "an incentive". I didn't like that as I was already planning to buy that plus more, but I don't like to be blackmailed. After not returning my calls or emails multiple times, I was able to get hold of Ernesto. His boss, Turk, grabbed the phone and said that the only way he could get me the additional pieces (400 sqft) was to buy an additional 2,000 sqft. These guys are not only dishonest, but also disrespectful. I'll end up buying everything else at another supplier, as I don't want to deal with this company ever again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Don't do business with these guys. Believe me, you will thank me and the other reviewers if you avoid this place at all cost. Pushy, dishonest and a rip off. Stay away!!!Turk (the Jerk) convinced me my sample tile was one color. He ordered some "from LA" told he drove down on Labor Day just to get my tile. When I picked it up, it didn't match my sample. "Oh, it's just the variant". Well it doesn't match pure and simple, but it was my fault because I approved it. After he told me it would definitely match. Of course, the policy is no exchanges no returns. I found an exact match at Otto Marble. Funny how the matching stone has a different name and the price was about half. Turk bragged his prices were the best because he sells to everyone the on Rogers and Junction. What a bunch if baloney. Since he wouldn't take it back, he offered to take it on consignment. Yeah right, he charges them my price and has to keep a percentage cuz he did all the work. Then he had the nerve to try to sell me flooring tile at what he said is a really reduced rate. I could recoup the cost by buying 1600 square feet of travertine. That would make this marble tile "free". He talks so fast, he thinks he can fool you into buying what he wants to sell. Kept telling me he was trying to work with me and help me out. Did I want to leave the tile. I said I was so disappointed that I didn't want to work with him under any circumstances. Next step is to try to see if my credit card company can stick it to him. My husband and I recently built a new house. We bought all of our stone and tile from Hera. We visited them at least ten times and each time they patiently helped us without pressure or expectation. Masoud especially was helpful and friendly. He had no guarantee that we would actually buy anything. But he gave us his full attention and answered all questions. Their stone is great quality for a great price. We are so happy with the choices we made. Don't fall for the inferior quality of Home Depot. I looked around several shops at Junction Ave and ended up buying stone for my backyard from Hera tiles. They have got a very good selection and reasonably priced. When I first visited them, I selected a stone but was not ready to buy at that time since I didn't finalized the contractor (wanted to make sure he is ok to work with that type of stone). When I came back after two weeks to finally order, the prices had gone up slightly due to seasonal demand. Turk and Hakan worked with me to stay within my budget and were very reasonable. Delivery was quick and although the delivery guy forgot to bring in a pallet, they quickly fixed the issue and delivered the remaining pallet very next day. If you are looking to get stones and tiles, I highly recommend a trip to Hera tiles. read more

Again, I am another person who got ripped off by Hera Tile. I wish I had read these reviews before I went there. I brought a picture of the tile I wanted which my contractor gave to me. I showed it to the bald guy and all throughout the transaction, he did his fast talking, said he only had a limited supply of the material and if I bought most of it, he would give me a good price. Then I purchased some granite tile he said I had to have to match what I bought above. When I got the material home, my contractor looked at it and said it was not the same tile. When we then opened the box, there were so many pieces of the backsplash that were broken, I couldn't believe it. My contractor tried to take it back but the bald guy said the sale was final, that I approved the material, and he refused to talk to me or even work with me. He sold me bad tile, I feel completely cheated and even though the invoice said the material could be returned for a restocking fee, he said he would not honor the terms. PLEASE save yourself from being cheated. Do not go to Hera Tile. Poor quality and poor service. read more

I would really like to commend these guys. They have tons of tile in stock, all types. Also, they have a great selection of trim pieces, decorative tiles and borders, etc. The 4 times I've been there, Hakan has really helped us to find everything we needed. He is not only very polite and patient, but works hard to give you exactly what you are looking for. We purchased two different types of travertine tile and got beautiful stone each time. When you're buying stone tiles, there are a great many variations within each line. When purchasing tiles for a counter top, Hakan actually let me select the specific tiles I wanted from a crate full of them. I really appreciate that kind of service. I went to Hera Tile & Stone on Saturday to pick out backsplash for my kitchen. I worked with a guy named Turk, who is co-owner. I was told that they had the tile that I liked in stock. Great. I then placed my order and paid in full. I was then told that I should come pick it up on Monday. Wait, you told me it's in stock - why can't I have it today? Oh, because we have to move pallets around in the warehouse and it'll take a while. I told them I'd wait, that I needed the tile that day. So my husband and I waited 45 minutes, only for Turk to find us and say that they needed to move 22 pallets and that it would take several hours. Since we were unable to leave work on Monday to pick it up, Turk said that he would personally deliver the tile on Monday. This did not happen; nothing was delivered and no call was given to tell us that the delivery would not occur. My husband called Monday night and left a message that he'd be at the store Tuesday when they opened to pick up the tile and asked that it be ready. He arrives this morning only to be told by the other co-owner Hakan, that they'd look for the tile...give him a few minutes. My husband waits again, only to be told they don't even have the tile in stock! So now we have to pay for a cancelled appointment with the gentleman who was to install our backsplash this afternoon and order the tile from another store and wait for it to be delivered. Moral of this story - avoid this place and go somewhere else. read more

Just picked up super high quality rectified Italian porcelain tiles that I purchased from Hakka at Hera Tile and Stone and I couldn't be happier. They have a huge selection of superior quality tile and stone imported from Europe at very reasonable prices. The prices at Hera are very much lower than the similar quality product sold at high-end places like Porcelanosa. The entire process from purchase to pick-up was smooth and seamless. I went in the store a couple weeks ago to buy Travertine for the outdoor of my house ,first when I walked in there was a bold guy as soon as he saw me he started to talk to his other workers saying that all the other big tiles stores Bedrosian and all natural stones are buying from him and he is a wholesaler and won't sell to me . than his other worker came in and sold me a Travertine called Ivory cream for 1.78 per SQ which was a good price .while he was making the invoice he told me to pay another $400 and he will give me better quality ones. and I gave him $400 more .before I picked up the tiles I went back and payed $2600 more and changed it to Philadephia Travertine which is better quality and has lots of Grey in it . When my Contractor picked up the tile and we opened it we saw that they gave us the worst quality with lots of broken pieces and Ivory cream , even dough we paid more for the Philadelphia . I went back his worker showed me the one they gave me in the yard and said thats also a good quality one but its not philadelphia and that they will fix the problem and give me the right one . as soon as the bold guy came in he insisted that what he gave us is philadelphia and wouldn't change it .I talked out .please do your self a Favor and don' buy from that store . We found that they had located to San Jose and when I arrived the owner not only had some more pieces available for us to purchase, but he even recalled my husband and I from our original visit 2 years ago. A friend told me he found the laminate floor he liked in this store. So I went to this store to check the floor material. At that time I was looking for solid wood floor. However I didn't find the color that I was looking for. Later on I went there again to shop for tiles and finally bought something I liked. This store carries some unique stuff. It's such a pleasure for me to see a white tile with 3D hexagon pattern. And it's not the glossy type. I didn't see the same tile in any other store. I was addicted to a shower which I saw in another store's showroom and wanted to replicate it. The tile I saw in Hera Tile & Stone would make an even better version of it. I bought it without hesitation. However after I returned to my house I found my contractor painted my shower room all in white. He didn't want to repainting it to another color for free. So in order to have some contrast I went back to Hera Tile & Stone again. Luckily I found another tile with light grey cloud like pattern which I liked and didn't see the exactly same pattern in other store either. I asked Turk the owner of the store if I could do an exchange. He refused at the beginning but eventually kindly agreed. I knew the policy of this store was no return so I appreciated his accommodation. I paid the difference and got the new tile. After my shower was done I got multiple compliments for the tile I ended up with. Today I asked my neighbor from which store she bought her solid wood floor material. She told me it's Hera Tile & Stone. She said it's quality material with competitive price. Check this store if you're shopping around for your house renovation. Said he would saved some extras for me if I needed more for my backyard remodel and a week later, I had to go back for the extras. This place has a wide collection. We bought tiles for 3 bathrooms, flooring for entire house and outside tiles. Turk was very helpful and patient and gave us a lot of suggestions as to what would be the best options. Although we were not so sure about the flooring color we went ahead and placed the order. But after a few days, just before delivering the materials, he called us and informed us about a shipment that had just arrived that would likely have the floor color we liked. Sure enough we went and checked it out and changed the order. He went out of the way to call us back even after the order was placed knowing very well what we had in mind. In spite of so many ambiguous reviews, we had nothing but a few great buying experiences at this store. Turk is at first a bit aloof but give him a chance, he is really a decent, even cheerful soul. We bought all the travertine floor from him, all the bathroom travertine as well and a few other accent tiles. He has good ideas for your decorating needs and so do the other guys who work for him. He is the only one we found to have the best assortment of polishe and honed 18" Flama Travertine. We looked in many places, but most of them were the light or brown colors. Also, ask him to recommend tile setters he knows and have done work for him. We hired Radu. an artist in tile - Very happy! We've learned through our 6-month remodelling journey, that you have to be patient with store owners and sales people, they have a lot of stress too. We just completed a lengthy remodel with tile work being done in 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. As such we spent a lot of time visiting tile and stone stores throughout the peninsula and San Jose. We ended up buying all of our tile at Hera because it was by far the best deal around. This store is not like most of the other tile stores where they have a fancy showroom and people walking around hitting you up for a sale. Those stores always steer you towards really expensive options. Rather, Hera is more of a warehouse with tons of tile, much of it sitting in boxes on the floor with a few examples set up in the middle of the store. Hera is the kind of place that provides tile to some of the other tile shops, who then mark up the costs and pass that on to you. We did notice that many (most?) of the other people shopping here are actual contractors or tilers, but they do allow you to buy directly from them. They have an amazing selection of marble and tile and were very reasonable on pricing, matching or beating prices we found elsewhere (even wholesalers online). Hakan was our go-to person and was very knowledgeable about materials and provided us with good advice for complementing tile, how to do our steam shower, etc. He even let us take various tile samples home overnight to see how they would look in our space. Given this is more of a warehouse, you should not expect the hard sell or people waiting on (like Angela S. experienced). It can be kind of hard to find someone to help you, so make sure you have time to wait until people can help you when you go. i recently purchased some travertine tile from hera tile co. on junction ave in san jose. i paid almost $1000 for all the tile. my contractor noticed as he attempted to cut the tiles down to size they would crack very easily. even just handling them with our hands we noticed tiles were breaking at random. my contractor said in his seventeen years of doing tile he never seen any stone break so easily. i went back to hera and spoke to turk the owner. he said he never had any problems before with this tile and i was the only one . he explained maybe i had a few bad pieces and i could trade them in. i told him i felt more comfortable using ceramic tile and would like to return the travertine. turk promised me it would be fine to ue and that he never had any problems with it. i told him i had read several reviews about his company about the same issues and he laughed and said they are all liars. well i found out the only liar was turk. after spending two weeks installing the tile i noticed within 48 hours the tiles began cracking one by one on the wall. i have to tear down the entire project and start all over. i lost over $3000 in labor and materials. do not go here. i repeat do not go here. turk will lie to you and promise you the moon. you will lose everything . i will now began the court process even though i know i will never collect a dime from him. read more
