They didn't add artichoke bottoms to my salad as menu listed and bacon was not any kind of bacon I ever tasted. They charge extra ($1) for bread. The menu is smallish...so make sure to ask about the specials. We had shrimp n grits, yummy Mac n cheese and étouffée...all marvelous and sophisticated in their own way. We came here for brunch today and it was fabulous. I had the Creole breakfast sandwich which comes with genoa, ham, scrambled egg, chili aioli, and carmelized onions. It usually comes with an olive tapenade also, but I despise olives so that was nixed. The flavor was so good! My best friend had the Cornbread and gravy which came with boudin, onion, green chilies, Nola cream, a poached egg, and lime crema. She loved it! It had a good spicy kick to it. The atmosphere was lively, but homey. My favorite part was the music they were playing, which was classic 50s and 60s. (Music I grew up listening to with my Dad) I was told this was what they usually play on Sundays. (Normally they play slow jazzy type music.) Another wonderful detail was the vintage silverware. Each piece was mismatched and beautiful. I will definitely be returning to try more things and enjoy the space. I highly recommend you do too. read more

Excellent new place. Small interior but big on Cajun cocktails and Cajun cuisine. The place is as authentic as it gets outside of the Big Easy. It's really more Bar than Restaurant as the menu choices, plates and helping sizes are not overwhelming but very adequate and really fantastic as far as tastes are concerned. It was my first visit to Herbe Sainte. My family of 8 including 2 children under 10 and we had a great experience. From the lemonade to the specialty drinks everyone was happy. Not good for vegetarians. We called ahead, and they said they had three vegan options: the muffalata, cauliflower jambalaya, and red beans. But when we came, they didn't have the first two, and somehow they got a huge hunk of meat (tasso?) in the red beans. And they didn't even apologize for this. read more

This place is a nice reminder of family roots back in LA, Louisiana not Los Angeles..... the food is really nicely portioned. The bar service is good and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I roll solo to this joint and am treated very well by the staff. The cornbread is a very nice treat, just not to my diet. Kitchen is open so you can watch the prep. A well oiled machine and seems mostly all fresh. They take pride in what they are offering up and that's something I appreciate and would recommend others to enjoy as well. read more

Second trip to Herb Sainte. Had the $10 lunch special where you can choose 1/2 of pick two of sandwich, soup, salad. Hubby had roast beef and the regular salad. I had the muffuletta and kale salad and we added a side of their corn bread which is $3 for 2 muffins. Both meals were more than enough for one person. The muffuletta needed more olive tapenade for my tastes. There was too much cheese so it through the balance of the sandwich off for me. Hubby's roast beef wasn't easy to eat for lunch and he ended up wearing some of it. The cornbread muffins were AMAZING...like always. We've been here once before and I didn't eat, only had cocktails, but I'll be back for more food, that's for sure. Wasn't busy for lunch and at $10 it should be! Great place for a causal lunch! Food and service were excellent. I would highly recommend the pick two luncheon special. The Shrimp Roll was served on a crusty French Roll with Cajun Remoulade and Onion Marmalade tucked inside the roll with a heaping amount of shrimp salad. The flavors were fantastic together. My second pick was a hearty bowl of the gumbo. Both excellent. I'll be back again in the evening for dinner and a cocktail or glass of wine from what looked like a very nice selection of craft cocktails and wines by the glass or bottle. Stopped in on Fat Tuesday last week. First time trying this spot out, had always heard good things. We loved the place and had a good time. The food is the best part! Lunch special for $10 is a great meal. The shrimp etouffee begs for hot sauce so you can doctor it up really hot if you'd like. It was so good. They even have a vegan etouffee that is also very good, so keep that in mind if you have a friend. Only request is that a server or bartender spent a little more time with things since we had never been there before. Definitely will be returning! read more

Positives +nice staff +cool venue, great decor +good corn bread Negatives -very bland food. the waiter recommend their daily special shrimp dish and raved about the flavor, so I almost had to do a double take when I tried the first bite and it was totally bland. I ended up adding a lot of pepper and hot sauce to taste something. I was pretty bummed because I love flavorful cajun food and all the rave reviews got me excited to try this place. -weird pricing. the special that the waiter recommended was almost twice as much as the other dishes, but it ended up being about 1/3 smaller. A nice quiet restaurant for an early Sunday dinner. Very clean with attentive service. The food and cocktails were good, but the price for the quantity was way too much. I have had much better mac and cheese in the Omaha area and the sauce was a bit too runny. The house salad was very good with lots of flavor, but I'd skip the coleslaw- it had too much cumin. Overall, a good experience, but I might just go for the cocktails next time. read more
