An actual honest mechanic!!! Armand is amazing, although I was a tad disappointed his name wasn't Herbie. When my passenger side fender got smashed into, he handled all the insurance BS, all I did was give him my agent's #, he did the rest. Came out to diagnose the Jeep, and once he took it to shop, it was done 3 days before originally planned and she looked fabulous! Amazing job. After, I noticed a fuse had blew and the interior lights weren't coming on. Once I told Armand, he asked me where I was, which was at a doctor appointment in Burbank. This dude drove to Burbank, came up to my docs office to get my keys and went down and replaced the fuse while I was upstairs. He's amazing! He goes above and beyond. Now I'm meeting him tomorrow so he can fix the urgent gas leak I have, which he warned me about earlier, and I of course put it off. I'm hoping the cost is reasonable because it's first time I'm using him without insurance claim. From what he's shown me so far, I'm not concerned. This guy is a diamond in the rough! Amazing! Herbie's Autohaus to the rescue! After leaving my 1974 VW Super Beetle in a garage for 11 years, it desperately needed help. With 4 flat tires and rusted brake rotors the car couldn't be moved, so I needed to find a mobile mechanic that could come to me. After reading all the great Yelp reviews for Herbie's Autohaus, I decided to give them a call. Immediately I was glad I did, as Arman showed up the next day with his van full of tools and his decades of auto mechanic experience. Arman methodically went through every part of my car replacing things that needed replacing (battery, corroded battery cables, leaking fuel pump, leaking brake cylinder) and at same time not replacing things that I was sure needed replacing (such as the 4 flat tires that I feared were dry rotted and the brake pads which had become rusted shut after 11 years of sitting, but Arman assured me they were all okay...and it turns out Arman was right they are completely okay saving me tons of money). I'm stunned that after 11 years of sitting untouched, my beloved Beetle is once again driving all over Los Angeles thanks to Arman and his compassionate car care! Anytime I walk into an auto shop, I can immediately feel my sense of womanhood bombed right back to the 1950s. I know the mechanic is going to think I'm an idiot who knows nothing about cars, driving, or voting. Unfortunately, we all have to go to the mechanic now and then so it's impossible to avoid. Arman is not like this at all. He is a wonderful mechanic with a great personality -- friendly, honest, and is never acts annoyed when you ask him to explain something. I actually feel like he WANTS me to want to take better care of my car. He helps me understand the issue, what I should fix right away and what I can put off for a little longer. I can not believethat I forgot to write a review for this establishment. I have been going to Herbie's Autohaus for almost 5 years. They have worked on my wife's Mercedes Benz (E-350 when she had a fender bender on the freeway and they have worked on my older cars as well from mechanical to body work; they do it all!. It is after this last incident, that I just had to share it with Yelpers. I do live in Burbank and do drive through Eagle Rock to go to work every day. Last week, I had a minor accident when I rear ended the driver in front of me who made a sudden stop in the middle of the intersection. Being so aggravated and stressed out, after the incident I decided to call Herbie's to ask for a tow truck to come and get my car, since I was only few blocks away. My front bumper was barely hanging on. Needless to say, Arman sent a tow truck to the location and we drove to Herbie's. To make a long story short, I ended up at work at around 10:30am. The guys at Herbie's drove me to Hertz (few blocks away) where I rented a vehicle, afterwards Arman told me that he would take care of everything else. I honestly talked to my insurance for 10 min, after which they dealt with Herbie's and 5 days later I was in my car again. The car looked brand new!!!!!!!!!!!! You could not tell there was anything done to it at all. He actually went ahead and fixed a minor glitch in my engine that would make the rpm go up for no reason, and a rear headlight (I know it is something very small, but the attention to detail is what makes me go back to this guys every time) Car was washed inside out, waxed and ready to drive away!!! I took my 1970 beetle to Arman, the work was great, he replaced my shocks, he fixed my emergency brake, fixed a electrical short and oil change even put a horn in the beetle, would not go to anyone else five stars thanks Arman P.S. Took my VW back to Arman about 2 weeks later on a separate issue Arman didn't charge me for his 20 mins of work in the heat (I will not forget that) who does that in this day I have gone back to Herbie's about 3 or 4 times Arman is still the best!! Con man. I don't understand how this guy lives with himself, knowing that he scammed a student??? I don't trust this shop whatsoever. He forgot to connect my headlights so I had to drive back home after work AT NIGHT without them. He told my father he would take 3 days to replace my radiator, he said it was a lot of work. He called back the next day and said my car was ready. Too good to be true. He assured me he fixed the check engine light issue but to my surprise it turned back on the next day. Ladies as you know, when you are a single female with limited resources, a mechanic visit could be very nerve wracking. Your anxiety increases before, during, and after the visit. I'm so impressed with Arman. I take two different cars to him for basic maintenance but recently bought a vintage VW van and took it to him for some advice. He looked it over top to bottom, told me what was necessary and what could wait. When I recently broke down a few miles from his shop I called him and he not only came over to take a look at the car, but helped me procure a tow when we realized it was something bigger than a dead battery, and then drove me and my two children home! My wife wrecked her 2012 Audi Q5 up in Mammoth. We took it to Herbie's and they took care of all the insurance paper work and everything. Both the front and rear bumper assemblies, sensors, lights and more had to been replaced. It is a complex job because these cars have multiple electronic sensors and such installed in the front and back. Once done the car looked like new, and everything worked as new. No longer an auto shop but a mobile car repair service. Been looking to fix my 99 civic from overheating, other mechanics kept giving me the workaround or kept telling me to come back some other day so I came on yelp to look for a good mechanic. I called them up and told me they will come to my house the next day and look at my car. Next day comes and it takes him not even 10min to figure out the problem with my car. He tells me he will do his best to price check the radiator to make this as economical as possible. He calls me 4hrs later and tells me the price AND that he can fix my car the same day. About 8 months ago I purchased a 30 year old diesel Mercedes sedan. I loved my old mechanic but he only works on Japanese cars. How lucky did I get to find Arman and Herbie's Auto Haus down the street from my house. It's an old car and I've had a few issues since I bought it. Arman's prices are always fair, he does the work fast and he tells me when I can put things off til I have more cash. Once I broke down a couple miles away. I called Arman to let him know I'd be coming in. A couple hours later when I hadn't showed up, Arman drove down the street to check on me to see what the hold up was. Another time I needed a new battery. Arman had warned me at my previous oil change that this may be coming. When I called him to confirm this is probably what my issue was, he offered to loan me the tools to replace it myself. I've NEVER had a mechanic offer to loan me his tools. I used to rebuild VW engines and know how sacred a mechanic's tools are. I've never had service like this and can't recommend Arman and his staff highly enough! This is my favorite spot to take my car when I have a little trouble or just need an oil change. I came across Herbie's after another shop down the street gave me a heart-stopping quote for new brakes. Arman quoted me at less than half the initial quote from the other shop, followed it up with a job well done and I have been coming back ever since. When I have an issue with my car I often feel like I'm at the mercy of my mechanic because other than calling my Dad I really don't have a point of reference or experience when it comes to auto repair. I always feel like Herbie's is more than fair and has at times gone above and beyond to help me.
