We paid extra to have delicate items packed - china, flat screen TV and several pieces of framed artwork. With just one exception, EVERYTHING that we paid extra to have packed was damaged (in the case of the china, we did not even get the extra packing as items were thrown into a wardrobe box). There were also one box and a dolly that never showed up. When settling our claim, we were reminded that claims are only based on weight of them item (unless you pay much more for coverage). We only asked for reimbursement for the extra we were charged to pack the items but that was denied as well. All told, we were offered $86.10 for what we estimated was about $4.000 in damaged items. We don't have much experience with movers and perhaps they all have their challenges, but Hercules came recommended to us. TL/DR: Unprofessional, unresponsive, not worth your time. On August 2 I reserved a move for August 21. On the 21st the movers arrived, early, and started to work. Then, "the boss" happened. The movers tell me "the boss" needed them to bring the truck to a different job, and that they may or may not return later. They put my couch back in my apartment and left. I then heard nothing for two hours. No calls, no texts, no answer when I tried calling the office. Eventually I hear back from the truck driver. My move was cancelled, refunded, and they'd like me to reschedule. I was later able to reach the office using my girlfriend's phone. Perhaps they blocked my number? The only person who answered was some timid person in sales. They were mostly unhelpful, eventually putting us on hold to call someone else. "The boss." They return and tell us they rescheduled us for the 22nd between eight and ten AM, with a minor discount. We accepted and prepared for morning. Morning came, but Hercules did not. We call the office around ten, and the person who answered this time had no idea what we were talking about. Eventually she finds a note that our move was cancelled due to not having the resources to do the move. A request for a call back from someone in the know was met with resistance, but soon we were told it would happen. Having both worked phones before, we know this was to get rid of us. I don't really expect a call on a Sunday in most circumstances, but after cancelling two moves with nearly no communication, a reputable business would be doing anything they could to help. A reputable one would. In essence, nobody there has their act together, "the boss" is dodging me, and Hercules left me high and dry. Apparently my business wasn't important to them. Maybe if I was moving a four bedroom McMansion I'd have gotten some respect, but our small apartment move was perfectly acceptable to just abandon for another job. If "the boss," whom I refer to as such because I know nothing about them other than they're potentially Texan, is reading and actually made it this far, I'd like to say thanks for reading, and I'd like to ask just what do you have against me? Hercules moved us from Columbus to Myrtle Beach. I'm very happy with the results. The came out to see what needed move and provided an estimate for one truck. Most movers did not come on site to estimate and all said we needed to trucks. Hercules saved us more than $5K by accurately estimating the need for one truck. I had a couple of items that did not fit, but it was easy to simply toss that out considering the savings. They arrived on time to pickup and to deliver the furniture. I tried booking a move with Hercules Movers to California. The day after I put down the deposit the move was canceled. Once I called Hercules they said the final destination on my initial quote was Florida despite the confirmation email saying California. I had never mentioned Florida before and they told me they were unable to accommodate my move. I mentioned California each time I called and each time they confirmed they would be able to accommodate. I am now scrambling to find a mover. This company is very difficult to reach and does not call you back. Justin who was the last customer service rep I spoke to was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and spoke over me several times. My wife and I recently moved and hired Hercules Movers to help out. We completely regret this decision. When we called for a quote, the representative was incredibly friendly and helpful. He took a complete inventory of the items we needed to move from our 1600 square foot house, and he estimated that it would take between 4 and 5 hours for three movers to complete the job. This was consistent with other quotes we had received from other local movers. Based on the quote he provided, I booked them for the move. On the day of the move, the movers showed up and were shocked to see that we had an upright piano, despite the fact that it was on the inventory list they had been given. They had no equipment and were not prepared to move a piano. As a result, the lead mover spent approximately *90 minutes* on the phone with someone from Hercules, trying to figure out how to move the piano out of the house. While he was on the phone with Hercules trying to figure that out, the other two movers were wandering around the house and sitting on the truck, waiting for instructions. Eventually they got the piano out of the house, but it still took approximately another 4.5 hours to finish packing up our small three bedroom house. During that time, however, they instructed me that I needed to disassemble furniture before they could load it on the truck. This was directly the opposite of what I had been told when I booked the job, and the opposite of what their website advertises. While the movers were doing nothing throughout the morning, my wife and I were getting increasingly upset, so we decided to take matters into our own hands and move certain things to our new house on our own. Between the two of us, we made three back-and-forth trips to the new house to help things go faster. Thankfully the new house was only twenty minutes away - who knows how long it would have taken if we didn't do that. After they finally finished moving everything out of our old house, they were six hours into a job that had been quoted not to exceed five, and they decided to go to lunch. My wife and I, who were expecting the move to have been over by this point and had made other plans (it was a holiday weekend), had to cancel our plans. Eventually Hercules showed up to our new house and it took them approximately another 3.5-4 hours to unpack everything. It would have taken longer, but at a certain point we told them they didn't need to unroll certain rugs or put everything in the correct room. Not surprisingly, it took them at least another half hour to bring the piano into the new house, as they didn't have the right equipment to do so. Also, again, I was required to reassemble furniture at the new house. At one point, one of the movers noted that my wife and I were "doing more work" than they were. The job finally finished almost 11 hours after it began, and I was billed for 9.75 hours. At that point, I asked to speak with their manager, and I initially was told "there is no manager" because it was a weekend. Eventually I had the unpleasant experience of speaking with Ebony, who informed me that they "never" would have given me a quote when I called to book with them. When I told her about my first call with them, Ebony backtracked and said she knew who took my call and that "he shouldn't have done that." Ebony maintained, however, that there was nothing she could do about the fact that the job took twice as long as they told me it would. When I told Ebony about the incredible delay that was caused by the piano, and the fact that they were on the phone with Hercules for 90 minutes in the morning, she agreed to discount my rate by those 90 minutes, but she said she would not apply a discount for the excessive time it took them to unload the piano at the new house. She also refused to acknowledge that the other two movers (who were not on the phone figuring out how to move the piano) could have, and should have, continued working. After telling me she would apply only a 90 minute discount, Ebony abruptly hung up on me. I asked the movers on site to call her back, and she eventually got back on the phone with me. She encouraged me to leave a bad review and to report them to the BBB, and I told her that I would. Needless to say, I am not surprised to see that other customers have had negative experiences with Ebony. Finally, it should be noted that throughout the day, one of the three movers confided in us that he worked for another company and he was only contracted to work our job because Hercules was short staffed. He apologized profusely to me and my wife throughout the day, he confirmed that the job was taking far longer than it needed to, and he told my wife that the lead mover was deliberately going slowly and was just "playing on his phone all day." He told us that he had offered to disassemble/reassemble furniture, but that the lead mover told him to make us (the customers) do it. read more

This is the fourth third time I have used Hercules. The first time went off without a hitch. The second time, there was some light damage to my furniture, but I figured it was a fluke and decided to give them another chance. What a mistake! Two movers showed up as planned. The lead guy was great, but the second seemed pretty worthless, but that's a him problem. Most of my stuff had already been moved. I was just using them to move my furniture and some stuff in the garage. All of the furniture was being put in a basement. When they got to the house to unload, they discovered the couch and the box spring wouldn't go down the stairs. Not their fault, but they spent so much time trying to force it down that they took me 25 minutes over the minimum time. 2.5 hours to move furniture 7 minutes down the road. But, the kicker is, when I went back to the first house to lock up and vacuum, I discovered they had broken the latch to my front storm door. The screws and internal rod were bent so bad that the door wouldn't shut and if you manipulated it to get it shut, it wouldn't open from the outside. We had a seamless move with Hercules Movers! Tommy and Louis were fantastic! Arrived right on time, were very friendly and professional, and worked efficiently. They took great care of our belongings and we had no issues or damages. They took apart and reassembled our bed frames for us, and didn't require me to take my drawers out of my big dresser! I didn't have any surprises on the price--it was right in line with the quote estimate I received when I booked. I spoke with Jason on the phone to get the initial estimate and schedule my move. The team from Hercules helped make my office move as seamless as possible. They worked steadily and conscientiously all afternoon, staying until the job was complete. They arrived early, calling and staying in touch with me throughout the move. They disassembled a large executive desk and reassembled it. Has another treadmill repair man contact me. 2 months later, nothing from the repair man. I also attempted to contact Chandler. IVE BEEN GHOSTED. Looks like you guys really care about your customers. First time using movers in Sept 2021. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you elect full insurance coverage. The move was fine. Efficient workers, but during the move, $800 treadmill cable damaged, and is now unusable. I told the workers before they left. They took pics and said someone would contact me soon. That's when the run around began. Eventually a company repair guy came to check it out in October. Stated he needed to order a part and would contact in the next few weeks. They have never contacted me again, however I've called them about every other month and have been told the part is back ordered. I contacted them one last time 2 weeks ago, and the woman said she would have the guy call me. Yeah, that never happened. I understand I didn't elect for insurance coverage, but their policy states if they can't fix it they will pay 60 cents per pound, which ends up being about $130. And while that's a huge loss for me, I'd gladly accept to be done with Hercules Movers. 8 months and no resolution. They make me feel like a fool. I feel like they hope I'll just give it up. I don't know any other moving companies, but if ever I'm asked for a referral, I'll make damn sure I suggest to NOT USE HERCULES. These guys were completely unresponsive to a request for some information about a move they did. Several calls and promises to respond and NOTHING. It's been a few weeks with no updates and no answers. Now they won't even answer my call. Very unprofessional. There are plenty of other movers in the area who value their customers and future business. Move along from these guys and go with one of them. *Added* I explained what the request was as the credit card company needed a professional to confirm the claim. There was nothing "bogus" about the request. It's a common request for filing a legitimate claim. I was referred to Hercules Movers by one of my friends and she had a great experience. So I scheduled a move and everything was great until one of the movers put their knee through the glass in my china cabinet. Although I was sad that the glass broke i was understanding as things happen. The movers assured me that they would speak to their manager to get it fixed. After the move was complete, i received a call about payment and it was $100 more than they quoted me because the movers took longer to complete the job because they broke the glass. IT took them an extra 45 min to figure out what to do about the broken china cabinet so therefore I had to pay more. On top of that, I have still not gotten the glass fixed and my move was over 60 days ago. No one has returned my calls, or answered the phone. Ive left over a dozen messages and no one has gotten back with me. Now I have to resort to getting my own contractor to fix the glass that the movers broke and that was assured to be fixed by them. Run, I mean as fast as possible away from this place! I feel their pricing practices are deceptive from the beginning, charging $100.00 for "gas/truck fees". The employees were both very courteous & worked hard, I will give them that. However, the walls in my house were torn up bringing up a couch, which was noted by the moving supervisor on the date of the move. Approximately a week later, I contacted the company & was assured I would hear from a supervisor. Another week later & A BBB complaint later, I was told that a claim would NOT be filed on the behalf of the company & that "their contractor". As you can imagine, that was a no go for me & I was then promised a payment for the price of the work of my contractor, which has still not been issued! **UPDATE - This REVIEW is NOT FALSE! We had a scheduled move at LifeStyle Communities Preserve Crossing at 3PM on Friday, September 29th. It is really sad that the company owner has to reply to this review by denying my existence to try to save face rather than doing the right thing. They need to accept responsibility for their HUGE mistake and lack of customer service.** I hired Hercules Moving Company to move my girlfriend out of her two-bedroom apartment. When I received the call to confirm the appointment I let them know that the large majority of the move was furniture and some heavy boxes. I also let them know that I had a china cabinet with hutch. They never asked for details of what else I had to move or how many boxes I had. There was no assessment done and they gave me a quote of $70 per hour, with a $60 truck fee. They also said that there is a 2-hour minimum charge to make the move. I said that shouldn't be a problem since it will be at least a 4-5 hour move. When they arrived at the apartment I showed the two guys around and what needed to be moved. The team lead said that this looks like a 3 man job and that he is going to call to see if he can get some help. I said no problem. Five minutes later I get a call from someone at the Hercules Moving office telling me that I lied to them and told them that I didn't have any boxes and did not tell them that I had a treadmill (which costs $75 to move by itself) and that my furniture was not "normal" for a two-bedroom apartment. When I ask her what was considered "normal," she said that a china cabinet and curio cabinet are not "normal", and since I didn't disclose how many boxes I had, that would need to cancel the job! I was beside myself. We had to be out of the apartment in one day and they canceled the job! They actually sent the movers home! I was furious! There was no reasoning with the woman on the phone and she claimed to have called the manager and he was the one who made the call to cancel them. Honestly, it makes absolutely no sense! On top of them canceling, her lack of professionalism on the phone was non-existent. As you could imagine I was completely distraught and furious that I had no movers and had no time to book someone in less than 5 hours! I asked her what kind of business does this to someone? She again accused me of lying about what I had to move and had I disclosed everything I had, they could have better scheduled the move. However, had they been more thorough in their evaluation, I would have told them everything I had. What kind of company puts blame on the customer for their mistake? Instead of trying to make it better she made it worse! I told her that I am going to reach out to the BBB and write a review of my HORRIBLE experience with them on every review site and she told me that she really didn't care what I do! An hour after ending the call, she called me back and offered me an appointment for the next morning. I guess she had a chance to talk to her manager. I declined her offer. There is no way I would ever give my money to a company that treats their customers so rudely. We went an hour over time but given the heat, all super heavy furniture going up stairs and the fact I had them re-move stuff (very patient guys) it was more than timely. These 2 guys really got it done. All of my things were protected and neither of the staircases or any walls were damaged. I would used them again for sure and recommend. I moved today with Hercules Moving and it went great! The two movers showed up early which I appreciated their punctuality. They cared for my items and worked quickly. I didn't have a ton of stuff (filled about 40% of the truck) but had to go to a storage unit and my new place. They did all of that in two hours, you pay a three hour minimum but I was glad it didn't go over the three hours and it was great to have an hour back in my day! They even loaded my storage unit so that I could access items needed efficiently. I did have a concern originally in the communication with the owner, but he took care of it quickly. That and the execution of the move makes me recommend Hercules to anyone! read more

EDIT - almost two years after Hercules movers ruined my spud bar and turfed my yard while they moved my neighbors things in the owner of the business responded to this review by saying it "is NOT verified," whatever that means. He seems to have great conflict resolution skills. Still waiting for my replacement pry bar. I guess I should preface by saying that I did not hire them, the people that moved in across the street from me did. When they went to back their truck up to leave, they got stuck. Someone asked me to borrow a pry bar, so I lent them my spud bar. They immediately bent it trying to move A TRUCK, then mangled the end trying to BREAK UP ASPHALT. Eventually, after a few hours, a tow truck arrived. The tow truck tore up my yard pulling out their stuck truck. My ruined pry bar was returned, ruined. Grass grows back, but the spud bar cost $40. No offer to reimburse was made. I can't imagine what the people that hired them thought about the whole fiasco. read more

Absolutely terrible. Well...let me be fair, I never hired them. I left 3 voicemails and sent 2 emails and no one ever got back to me. Some guy answered the phone once and he sounded like he was still in bed. He was rude, short and not polite at all. This was 11am. I guess he had a late night. I told him I needed a small piano moved because their CL ad says the "specialize in pianos." I'll never find out because they apparently can't be bothered to call anyone back or return an email. I hired Hercules Movers for a local move into the new home I just purchased. At 8 months pregnant I wanted a low stress situation so I did my research and read reviews and hired Hercules Movers. While moving furniture into my home one of the staff smashed a hole in a bedroom wall. This happened 7/15/17 and Hercules has yet to repair the damage or scheduled to have the damages repaired. When I have called I have been told it will be handled. Other than the person that damaged the wall, not one person has apologized. In good faith I paid in full for the service provided. When I asked for a refund until damages were repaired I was told that was not how these things work. As of today, I am still waiting. Such a headache! read more

I am a women living alone and this last time they just helped me move boxes from my apartment to a detached garage. Oh where to begin with Hercules. During the process of finding movers, the owner answered all of my questions very promptly and courteously. The actual moving process was another story. The movers showed up 4 hours before the scheduled time, including the driver coming out of the truck smoking a cigarette. Not a very good first impression. The drivers went to the correct appointment and kept in contact with me the whole time until they arrived at the originally scheduled time of 3pm. The total move took 4 hours which was exactly what the movers quoted me. The drivers did work hard and were nice. However, they disposed of a couch from the first move into my neighbors yard. When we went to our old residence the following day to clean, there were at least 20 items, if not more that were not moved. I contacted the owner via Yelp where we had been messaging since the beginning to let him know what happened. I gave him 2 full business to respond to rectify these concerns, but I never received a response. The only reason I am not giving one star is because the cost was much cheaper than anywhere else. Needless to say, what started off as a pleasant experience turned into a very disappointing one. read more

I hired Hercules Movers to load a pod I'd ordered for a small interstate move. The guys (Silver and Troy) showed up on time and ready to work. The elevator in my apartment building stopped working during the job, but they were more than willing to get everything moved down the stairs (from the fourth floor) - even the items I wanted to dump, not pack. They came prepared with tape and shrink wrap and were able to help wrap up any items I wasn't quite sure how to pack. They got everything loaded into the pod, and it looks very secure and ready to move. I would definitely recommend Hercules again. The price was very reasonable and the service was great. read more

These guys helped me move from a one bedroom in Worthington to a two bedroom in Dennison place. I had everything packed already and had labels for each box so they knew what room to put it in in the new place. With this system and their hard work, it took 2.5 hours from start to finish (including traveling to the new place!), and I really just got to sit back and watch them take care of it! They also use cloth to protect/wrap your furniture, so nothing was damaged and I didn't have to pay for extra packing supplies. I hope I don't have to move for a while, but if I do, I'll use them again! read more

Don't expect a bunch of neat looking guys in blue jumpers like the pictures on their website. Gloves? Nope. Expect dirty hand prints and smears all over your walls. Booties? Hah! Don't even dream of it. Your floors will be covered in mud and footprints. But that's nothing. They showed up at 11 am for a 10 am job. (They said they had to stop for breakfast.) They shrink wrapped our furniture, then decided they wanted to go to our storage unit to load that first. A few hours later, they realized they couldn't fit all the furniture they had shrink wrapped on the truck with all the boxes they had packed and so they left a lot of the furniture behind. They damaged two doors and four walls at my brand new house, broke dishes, dented furniture, all out of carelessness. I watched in horror as they balanced boxes of my china three and four high and dropped them. I watched them bash a metal bed frame into the garage wall and then the door. I watched them drag our queen mattress and box spring up the stairs and all along the freshly painted wall. Later, we realized they had put two bed frames together wrong, and left my dining room table upside down on the kitchen floor, still in shrink wrap, partially re-assembled and with the legs on backwards. They were kings at wasting time. We paid them to sit in their truck and smoke and throw cigarette butts on our lawn. In fact, we paid for three guys, but one of them spent the majority of his time "doing paperwork" and attending to his truck's broken door. I'm sure Chandler, their boss, would love to hear about how they proposed they could "save us some money" if we hired them to come back over the weekend to finish the job they were supposed to do that day, if we paid them on the side.
