Best dim sum in Tampa. But they may be the only game in town lol. Shanghai Express is not in Tampa…read moreand neither is Zen Dumpling House. I'm being specific to location rather than area. If we're going Tampa metro then that is a different review altogether. Yummy House is definitely yummy and worth the wait if you messed up and decided to stroll in here at 12pm on a sunday. That's probably the worst time to come in. Literally go any other time and you won't have to wait 30+ minutes for a table. Once you do get in, go extra hard on the dinner sun. The steamers are steaming and the dessert cart has plenty of goodies. Anything on the sizzling and clay pot menu is recommended as is their pan fried noodles and salt & pepper anything. Service is quick, the ambiance is a mix of industrial and Asian banquet. The parking is probably decent on most days, but on Sunday at 12pm; Yeah not so much...

The menu changed, the dim sum courts weren't there, the prices were not overly inflated, and my favorite dishes were as good as I remember them! Yes, inflation has slightly decreased the portions, the prices are slightly increased, but again I enjoyed my lunch! The menu was smaller, there is a lunch menu presented at the table which didn't happen in the past. Keep up with Chinese restaurants? I'll be back even though I've moved and it's like an hour away and I have to go alone unless I can convince somebody that maybe they really do like Chinese food I go alone I need to go alone Will do By the way, if you like Chinese food cooked with fresh ingredients and presented in reasonable portions this is this is your place! We'll definitely be making the drive more often even if it's just me alone in the car. Don't miss this place you'll be sorry.

A few of my favorites are the mango pomelo sago (think cold creamy mango dessert soup), coconut pudding (looks like a cute bunny!), and the salt & pepper noodle fish. I don't know what noodle fish is but I will order this every time I eat here! Great dim sum overall. There are plenty of tables and seating. The only thing I wish they would add is a baby changing station in both men and women bathrooms. I think places that offer high chairs should also have baby changing stations. Just my radical opinion. All in all, this place has potential. I would definitely consider this for event space or family parties in the future.

Overall, all the food was pretty good and I would definitely come back…read more My favorites were the 1/2 duck and the pan fried noodles with beef. My older son only ate a bowl of rice and some pan fried noodles. My dad thought the shrimp dumplings were pretty good (and he eats a lot of them) and then ordered a huge array of other food. They were sadly out of Chinese broccoli so we didn't eat any greens. This place is huge. We were the first people at 11 a.m. on a Monday. It's nice that it's right next to MD Oriental so you can eat dim sum and then go grocery shopping. The waitress was very nice. When my son was disappointed that they didn't have fortune cookies, she gave him egg tarts for free. I've never seen such nice service at a dim sum place before. That meant a lot to him. It looks like this place also serves as a banquet hall, since they have colorful lights and a giant tv (like the size of a wall!) that plays music videos. There were a lot of smaller rooms off tot he side that look like they either hold private parties or karaoke. I like this place and I'd definitely come back. The menu is a little limited (for example, they don't have tripe), but they have the main staples.

I visited before a Rays game and was immediately impressed by both the service and the food. The staff was attentive without hovering, the pacing was excellent, and the entire experience felt polished and intentional. I ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi steak, tofu, fried egg, kimchi, vegetables, gochujang, and crispy rice, along with two spring rolls. What stood out most was the balance. The dish delivered heat, sweetness, savory depth, texture, and freshness without relying on heavy sauces or excessive portions. Every ingredient maintained its own identity while contributing to the overall flavor of the dish. Too many restaurants create flavor by drowning food in sauce. Hawkers does it through seasoning, spices, and technique. There was no puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl, no overly sweet glaze, and no greasy heaviness. The rice absorbed flavor without becoming soggy, and the kimchi, vegetables, egg, tofu, and bulgogi worked together beautifully. The spring rolls were equally impressive. Light, crisp, delicate, and perfectly executed, with a thin wrapper and just the right amount of crunch. What impressed me most was that I left satisfied, not stuffed. The portions were thoughtful, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were layered rather than overwhelming. Since moving to Florida, this ranks as one of the best restaurant meals I have had. Highly recommended.

Food seems to be mostly tapas style offering small plates for sharing. I ordered the the chili wontons, chicken wings, and Hong Kong sticky ribs. The ribs were the favorite but everything was great. Portion sizes are small, for example the plate of wings only comes with 3 wings. They are priced accordingly. Service was great throughout the experience, and we were seated immediately on a Saturday night at 8:45. Overall I would recommend and return to Hawkers.
