Bottom line, so many parts of our 25 year old system were failing it would be most effective to replace all components. It wasn't cheap ($1,500) but if it lasts as long as the old one lasted (25 years) that's ($60.00 per year) very reasonable. The BIG bonus was the technician Scott. Would never use them again. Our experience was not a good one and we ended up with an independent repair service that was excellent and honest. We had only reached out to them because we thought they were the original company that did all the garage doors in our complex about 15 years ago. Disappointed with this company. Had them come here 3 times, the first time was to do full maintain r on the door. When they were done my door was crooked. I had them come out again to fix it and they argued with me trying to say my ground was crooked. After 15 years, our Liftmaster garage door opener belt drive lost a few teeth and was no longer reliable. II looked for referrals through the Liftmaster web site and found that they recommended Heritage. Getting an appointment was quick and easy. Austin Hyatt replaced my old opener with a new state of the art Liftmaster model that was much quieter, Wi-Fi enabled, and had a camera accessible through an app on my phone. Austin did a great job installing the opener. He advised me to replace the door as well, showing me small cracks in the old door that will become a problem over time. One of my dads stories he always tells over and over is how one of the guys from heritage garage doors came over on like a Sunday or weekend or something years ago to help him get his garage fixed and how great that service was, so when my garage door broke he was all thrilled to give me their number. We Called in for service and the company was responsive and professional. They provided an estimate for what they felt was needed and we agreed. My issue is after the job was finished and we checked their prices and they were grossly inflated compared to what is available online or locally. When you hire a company you hope to trust them. In this case they did a good job installing the parts, they arrived on time and they were professional. They just charged far too much for the parts. Example: The Garage door back up battery from them was $170. Online $45. Same part number, same mfg. Garage door rollers $260, available locally $100 same part number, same mfg. Garage door bottom seal $209, available locally $49 We're not saying they should match online prices but 3 or 4 times higher is just too much. We understand you have a business to run but price gouging like this doesn't allow us to ever use them again or refer them. They also charged a fee to pay with a credit card. Isn't that part of a business expense. Out job was $662 and we feel a fair price would have been around 1/2 of that. He was at our home less than 1 hour. I spoke to Greg, who was very nice and helped me find a compatible replacement garage door motor, then when Scott came out to do the install, he was able to adjust the springs to get more life out of the motor I already have. Our door started to malfunction on Saturday so I called and set up an appointment for the following Friday. The door stopped working on Sunday. Called on Monday and they moved my appointment up to Wednesday. Scott showed up earlier than expected and inspected the motor and found it not repairable. We got ripped off by Heritage Garage Door company of HB. Service guy Cody came out to realign my garage door, which two wheels had come off the wired tract, and no damage to any parts. We were in a difficult situation, since our garage door was stuck half way up and needed someone to come out ASAP. I was told that the service call charge to come out an asses the problem would go towards the repair. So since no parts were replaced, and it took him about 10 minutes to realign the door, I assumed that it would not be much more than the service call. Well was I wrong, the total bill, including $19.21 for fuel charge (& we only live one city over from HB) was $426.19!!! After I received the bill I called three other garage door companies, and all three stated that the job of realigning a two car garage door should not be more than $200.00. The most positive experience I could have ever imagined. ASK FOR SCOTT. on 6/4/2022 our garage door stopped operating, it was a broken spring and alongside that the cables snapped off. Called Heritage garage at 1pm (I googled garage door companies and these guys had the highest ratings online), I was told a technician would come around 2-3pm that same day. Received a text 30 minutes later that Scott was on his way. Scott arrived and he was extremely professional and knowledgeable, showing concern and understanding from the moment we met. Had to finally replace the old swing up door with springs from the 1970's. After seeing ads on tv for a roll up door for 600-800 bucks, I remembered that a friend I went to high school with had a garage door company. All I can say is you get what you pay for. Greg and Ed were both amazing and got me a great price on a roll up door that I am super pleased with. The estimator Mike explained why the competition was so much cheaper and how they had horrible reviews on google and yelp and showed me the 3 door styles to choose from. Needed to have my broken garage door opener belt replaced. Made an appointment. Serviceman comes out. OOPS... has wrong belt with him. Needs to come back another day and informs me that since this is being rescheduled he needs a deposit of 1/3 of the total job cost!.. I say this does not make sense since this rescheduling is due to their fault. I also raised an issue with the fact that the serviceman was now suggesting that there could be an additional $100+ cost to adjust everything. I said this was absurd as nothing like this came up when I called to set up the appointment and discuss prices. I also complained that the cost has now escalated by another $13 or so for tax. I stated that a flat fee was quoted to me when I first called and there was no mention of any tax. Besides, and this ignorance on my part, since when is labor taxed? The serviceman said that I was talking to a salesman who is not in the field and does not know what he is talking about. He then proceeded to use his i-Pad and play for me a recording of my original telephone conversation with the salesman. THIS RECORDING WAS NEVER AUTHORIZED. California has Penal Code #632 for such instances as it is a two-party consent state. I felt violated. Being desperate to get the garage door opener fixed, an appointment was made for the following Monday. The serviceman assured me that they had the proper belt back at the warehouse or could get one. Monday comes. I get a phone call from a supervisor stating that they don't have the belt and could get it by Wednesday. I told him that I felt jaded by this time and would have to rearrange my schedule one more time. I also discussed my previous conversations with the serviceman. I asked him if this conversation was being recorded. He stated 'no' as he was using his cell phone. The supervisor offered to cancel the job and tear up my check. I gladly agreed. read more

The only reason that this is not a 4 or 5 Star Experience is because of price. I did not have a lot of time to shop around. They previously replaced two springs and the bearings for me about 4-5 years ago and I had great service and price. I paid a total of about $350.00 in 2014. This time was much more expensive. I was charged $299.00 per spring and $159.00 for the bearings and $199.00 for labor (There was no separate labor charge last time). I was told that the price of steel had increased which is being passed on to the customer. Essentially I paid $956 before tax. I might have gotten a good deal or maybe I should have shopped around some. read more

My garage goor was not opening consistently when I used my remote. I called them for service. When they arrived, I handed them 2 new remotes and asked them to program them for me. They said they tried, but we're not able to program the remotes. They said I needed a new unit and they could sell me one for $580.00. I said I would let them know. A friend came over to take a look. These people are THE BEST -- VERY Knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. We had a 25-year old 1/2 HP LiftMaster Proline garage door opener that stopped working, and wanted to replace with the same because it had been so reliable. Found the equivalent model on the LiftMaster website and called the closest LiftMaster dealer, who tried to tell me that another model had replaced the one I called about. (Interestingly enough, both models were listed on the LiftMaster website, with the model I wanted having many rave reviews and a 5 Star rating, the other model 4 stars). This attempt to switch models made me uncomfortable, so decided to call another dealer to verify. Heritage Garage Door was quite a bit farther away than the first dealer, but since it was the ONLY LiftMaster "ProAdvantage" dealer listed (a special LiftMaster service award designation) gave them a call. Talked to Greg -- and he was so knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. He explained the very slight differences between the two models, and said that if that was the model I wanted, he would special order it and he could have for me and in just ONE day. And, even though they were in Huntington Beach, they provided service to Laguna Beach (lots of contractors do not like to make the drive). The Installer, Bob, was just as great as Greg -- really knew his stuff, very efficient, neat, and thorough. Honest too -- Bob said the old garage door opener was repairable -- and if I wanted, he could just replace the stripped gear. If you are reading this then you are very close to choosing the best garage door company in OC. We had several local companies provide bids and here is what we learned. We wanted Ammar doors so we looked at Costco, Sears, Garage Door Co. and Heritage Garage Door Co. (I did not even consider Mesa GDs) Why 4 quotes? I just kept getting companies to come out to the house, so I could talk to them and get a feel for their customer service, installation process and price. I finally had Heritage come out and I met with Michael. He was very professional, polite and clearly knows everything garage door. We upgraded both openers and new doors with glass on the top panel. The price was less than all the competitive bids received. We purchased the Amarr 3000/window package with 2 Liftmaster 8500's. We have received a lot of complements and now I can open the doors without waking everyone in the house/neighborhood. The installer Albert was very thorough and offered some great suggestions for our unique installation. He took his time and it was flawless. After the installation I received a follow up call from Greg at Heritage Customer Service Dept to check on how things went. (yes they have a dedicated CS Dept!) Nice. I really appreciated that after dropping $3k+. I noticed a small blemish on one of the panels after installation. The installer made notes on my documentation about it and said "Don't worry we will fix that". Guess what? Greg called me the next day and set up a follow up visit to replace the entire panel. Got an interesting call from a man named Gordon who claimed to be from the call center that works with Heritage Garage Door. He claimed the problem was his company problem not Heritage and that the interface between his call center and the actual schedule that the Heritage Technicians followed was not properly relayed to them. I listened for a few minutes and explained to him that I had called his call center three times. Once to set the appointment and twice to follow up the date of the appointment to make sure they would be at my home and then once after waiting an hour for the technician. All three times his call center assured me they (Heritage) would be at my home to repair my broken Torrision spring. I'm sure the people at Heritage had asked him to call and see if he could get me to remove my negative rating. This seems to be an ongoing problem and if Heritage continues to use a call center that cannot interface properly with them, then who needs to use Heritage! read more
