Nate Hoffman @ Rockwell Auto Clinic reached out with pricing for the 3 tasks that was nearly half of what we'd been quoted @ Toyota of Lincoln Park; a complete starter and must-do. He even recommended that I avoid getting the alignment done @ Toyota, and postpone it until after the suspension work was done; sound advice that the service advisors @ Toyota of Lincoln Park did not provide. I dropped the car off on a late afternoon and retrieved it the following day with no issues whatsoever; the car now rides, steers, and brakes just as it did when new. Nate was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, and we'd definitely return to Rockwell Auto Clinic for future work on our vehicle.

They take the time to explain the work to you, get your buy in at every step, and charge WAY less than you would pay elsewhere. I especially appreciate the way they make the time to answer all of my questions and never judge me for my ignorance when it comes to cars! The work is always finished faster than expected, and they are more communicative than any men I've ever met. They've also done a number of small quick fixes for free when I've stopped by in a pinch - getting a frozen gas cap unstuck, checking my tire pressure, etc. Seriously - I love this place so much that when a warning light comes on in my car, I think, "Well, at least I get to go see Paul!"

We've had Toyota 4runners, Range Rovers, Tahoe, suburbans, lexus, BMW convertible - and we only trust Ron and his mechanics to work on all our cars. The special sauce to Speedline is Ron and his honesty along with skill. This is an industry that can easily take advantage of people, but Ron will NEVER do that. Can't tell you how many times he tells me I don't need tires or work done, etc. In fact, when we were in LA for 2 years, something didn't feel right in the car (Suburban) as we drove the I-5 highway for 6 hours to Sonoma. Instead of pulling into a gas station or mechanic along the way, we pulled over and called Ron. He told us exactly what to do and what not to do- and then exactly what to do once we got to our destination. When our safety was at risk - we called Ron; nobody is more honest, trustworthy. I've also sat in his lobby while waiting for repairs on my car(s) many times. My experience every time I've witnessed a customer complain or even yell at Ron (or his employees) are those that are rude, demanding and likely have unreal expectations - no matter where they go. My car was really loud all of a sudden and I was so stressed thinking I was going to have to shell out $1K to fix whatever I was told was wrong with my car (which previously happened when I took my car to the dealer for something else). I wanted to make sure I could find a place that was *less* likely to rip me off. I was actually looked at the reviews for another muffler shop when I saw that someone said after getting a really high quote they ended up going to Value Plus and getting the same work done for half the price. I was sold. The place is really just a garage. I parked on the street and walked in and there was one guy working and he was currently welding something on a car. When he was done with that, he saw me and let me know it would be about 30 minutes and to just wait in my car. After 30ish minutes he waived me into the garage and looked at my car. He immediately found one part that needed to be replaced and something else that was broken that he could fix, and let me know it would be $60 to fix both!!! Could not have been more relieved. He finished working on my car in about 15 minutes and I was on my way.

You can see how Value Plus Mufflers charged me a total of $1,100 and then I requested an itemized receipt they tried to back in the amounts to equal $1,100.
