We got our entire lower level floored back in January, and we love it so much that I am coming back to write a review. Jay Hernandez was by far the best deal and the easiest to talk to and explain things. And I am a person that sales people hate cuz I ask a million questions. But Jay is patient and makes sure I am happy with all his answers. He has an honest work ethic and gave us a professional quote in writing with measurements and materials and labor all spelled out ahead of time. They did the whole job in 2 days including baseboards and junk removal and cleanup. I was very happy. One piece of advice to anyone looking for floors - the color may look good in his showroom, but bring a sample home to check with your exact lighting. We could have made a big mistake with a color that ended up to be too yellow when we took it home, so we ended up choosing a lighter more neutral tone which looks amazing in our home! Secondly, I'm going to put in a plug for their Revwood laminate product since we literally kept going back and forth between laminate and vinyl. You get the best of both worlds with this Revwood. It is both waterproof and scratch resistant - and I know because he gave me 2 samples to test with a screwdriver. I could easily scratch the vinyl but even pressing as hard as I could the laminate would not scratch. That sold me right there! Of course all flooring types look wonderful a month after installation, but what will they look like in 10-15 years? Well, durability wins! Anyway, a big thanks to Hernandez Hardwood! read more

If I could give no stars I would. Horrible service. The owner showed up 30 mins late after saying he will be there at 7 for a pick up. Then when he gets there he takes his sweet time. Nor does he acknowledge that somebody has been sitting there. I drove around back to get loaded up while he stood there watching with 3 of his guys just stood there as I loaded up 34 pieces of baseboard alone. Our company does plenty of work with them. I forgot to include the deal breaker in my original review; the main reason I chose Hernandez Hardwood to add additional flooring. Jay and his crew seem to be the only installers who do not add a transition piece of wood between rooms or between wood and tile. Instead they adjust flooring to the level of the tile, leaving a smooth finish, instead of a raised area. Since my installation, I have noticed this raised wood piece in others' homes who have installed wood flooring. It is much more attractive to have the smooth finish. read more

I reached out to many other stores to replace carpet in my living room & stairs + tiles from some area. On comparing others, Hernandez hardwood stood up by their knowledge on flooring and competitive quotes. Process: 1. We scheduled an in-home estimate and Jay from Hernandez Hardwood showed up on time. He measured the area and gave the quote right at my home. He also gave us some valuable suggestions to replace tiles at certain area so that, the flooring will look better. I decided to go with his suggestion and got a very decent quote. 2. We visited the store to pick our flooring and scheduled the dates for installation. 3. The installation crew (Oscar & his team) came on-time, finished the work in 2 days & cleaned up all the mess before they left (Other places quoted to finish the job 3-4 days). Hernandez Hardwoods removed a defective engineered wood floor and replaced it with the same material. To reinstall the floor properly, they needed to sand and level the foundation, which was not done by the previous contractor. Hernandez Hardwoods did an excellent job! Unprofessional. I never write reviews but this company disappointed me not once but twice. I called to set up an appointment for Monday at 6:30pm. Appointment time came by and didn't see them at my home. I called at 6:30pm to see if they were on their way and they said they forgot about my appointment. I gave them another chance to come Tuesday at 6:30pm. No show again so I called and ask if they were on their way. They said they will come in 30 minutes. 30 minutes came by and still no show. I called them twice and no answer. If you don't want the job just say so. Don't give me excuses. read more

Just had 1800 sq ft of engineered hardwood installed by this company, plus hundreds of feet of baseboards and 20 door casings. From being on time, to custom moldings, to hard working installers with great attitudes, these guys did a great job. The floors are beautiful. In the past four years I've done a complete kitchen remodel, master bath remodel, swimming pool, and now floors. This is has been, by far, the best contractor experience I've had. My husband saw their sign while driving to work so we stopped by and Jay helped us immediately even though they weren't officially open at their location on La Cadena. He took the time to explain different flooring and what would work best in our home according to what we wanted. He came out days later to measure and gave us an estimate on the spot which was the most affordable price around! We set up an appt and the crew came out a week later ON TIME and demo'd our tile and placed our new hardwood floor all in one day and it looks AMAZING. After reading good reviews on Home Advisor, had restoration company hire this company to install new engineered flooring after he screwed up initial job. First off not advising using Home Advisor since it now appears they don't post negative reviews. Hernandez Hardwoods crew did not come prepared. We had damage to subfloors and crew didn't even bring shop vac to clean floor ahead of time. My wife asked crew if they would put new felt pads we would provide for furniture. They said would be no problem. They put entertainment cabinet on uncleaned slab floor. Feet picked up debris and they did replace felt pads. Put entertainment cabinet back onto new floor. When we moved cabinet to put new pads on, it scratched the hell out of our brand new floor. Also found place with large scratch that they tried to hide with sharpy. Would not recommend this company. They did not do what they said they would, were careless, and did not come prepared. read more
