I have been here far more times that I have any right to have been, considering that it's a 500 mile journey to get here. There's a theme park, sure, but you don't even need to do that to experience the wonder of this location. Yes, this is the biggest chocolate-themed gift shop, with all your anthropomorphized s'more part magnets and plushies, but it's also home of the free chocoalte experience ride. Who doesn't want to be a chocolate bean, be processed, and then end up getting turned into a delicious hershey's product in the plant? Kids love it. Adults love it. My family LOVED Chocolate World. There is so much candy my children were super excited. The entrance to Chocolate World is free, and so is the parking, so both are bonuses. Everyone enjoyed the complimentary ride! We learned how chocolate was made, while making a memorable family experience. We also got a pretty cool photo at the end! Luckily the Easter Bunny was visiting Chocolate World the day we were there. (It was the Monday before Easter.) We got a cute picture of the kiddos with the bunny. Before leaving we were also able to purchase some delicious Hershey's chocolate, as well as, some souvenirs. read more

I came here on a weekend day with some friends and their family. Having never been to Hershey's Chocolate World, I do understand the experience is tailored mostly to kids and as an adult, perhaps that is the reason for my 2-star review...your kids may enjoy it. Here's what we did: 1) The Chocolate Academy Tasting Kit: kind of a cute presentation and funny. Mostly painless and the least amount of lines. 2) The factory tour: a pretty long line and the ride was disappointing for me. I'd much rather see a real factory, rather than a commercialized-ride version of what you think the factory looks like. It's more like an idealized version of how everything could look, but not reality. It wasn't super entertaining, but I did like the small touches of smells helping make the tour come alive. 3) Make your own chocolate bar: ughhh...I think they are revamping this soon, but man---this took forever, the line kept breaking and it's sort of lame to just pick what you want on an iPad and have no real interactivity in the process....it is cool to see the chocolate get made right before your eyes and the design process is cool, but I wish you could change the letters in the design (you can only have it say whatever you picked as your name earlier, so if you want another name on the chocolate, be sure to pick that as your name early on in the process). 4) The 3D movie: really tailored for kids, but cool that it was an interactive process. This low rating is not about the food but strictly about the routine of cleaning the tables. My daughter and I (along with some of her dance team friends/parents) went to Hershey Park. Afterwards, we went to eat at The Chocolatier Restaurant. While eating, we noticed one of the servers sweeping the floor and then took the broom to sweep the crumbs off the table. She did this multiple times on two tables. We were aghast at this action. I found the manager on duty to let her know and she claimed that is not how they are to clean the tables and she wasn't aware that the server was doing that. But even after letting the manager know, she was allowed to stay out on floor and serve other patrons their food. We did receive a discount on our tab but still left with a disgusting feeling. Basically this is a huge I mean huge retail store filled with isles of all your favorite Hershey products in bulk or by the bar it's here for you to eat and share! Besides the retail part of it they have numerous activities for you to do or take part in with everything from building your own candy bar to taking a tour of the factory replica in basically a little ride of sorts to the numerous places in the food hall to get Hershey inspired items to the tour of the city it really has it all here! Of the numerous things to get it was all about the Reese's milkshake it was sooooo good it tasted just like it should but in the delicious cold liquid form that you want on a cold November day! They have a ton of merchandise here with just about everything themed that they make if you want Hershey brand anything this is the place to find it as I can't count how many random awesome things are in this huge store! Admission is free to get in and free for the chocolate tour but some of the other activities cost a bit extra so don't forget to get one of the bundles if you plan on doing multiple activities in one day! Overall this is an awesome free place to visit before or after going to Hersheypark just remember they have different hours than the park so plan accordingly because you don't wanna miss out in this awesome experience it's forshures that this will always be a spot to visit when at the park as there's just too much awesomeness here to buy and eat so don't miss out it's by far worth the trip! read more

Hershey's Chocolate World is one of those places you don't really go out of your way for, but more of a place you check out on the way to do something else. That said, if you do find yourself here for some reason, it's honestly a very fun family friendly experience that you like won't regret visiting. Heed my advice below though. The best recommendation I can give is to get your tickets as early as possible because the earlier activity times in the day can get booked up quick. Especially on a busy weekend, if you come in the later in the day, everything might be sold out and you might be real disappointed. Imagine getting there, you've only allotted a few hours, and you can't even do one of their more exciting activities. It's one of those things where if you just woke up earlier and got stuff out of the way, it precludes long annoying waits later. If you haven't booked anything online before your day of visit, then I would come right before opening so you can purchase what you want and get it all out of the way. Add the inevitable fussiness of kids in the equation, you'll definitely want to get stuff done and be able to move on with your life without standing in lame lines. Like many people might agree with, I think the only experience worth paying for and doing is the "Create Your Own Candy Bar" because it's very interactive and fun for kids. The rest of the activities are not bad but I think making your own personal chocolate bar is the best souvenir in the building. Soooo much fun! We got chocolate wasted!!! This place gets crowded, so prepare accordingly. I love that they have different activities for the family to do together. We watched a 4-D movie, toured Hershey via the trolly, created our own Candy bar, and purchased lots of cool merch from the store. The highlight of the trip was creating our own candy bars! We got to design our wrapper, choose the chocolate, and select from a variety of mix ins. Once we made our selections, we watched the chocolate bar go across the conveyor belt and undergo the factory process right in front of our eyes. Our kids loved it! We were not impressed with the lunch options, so we went downtown Hershey and ate at Houlihan's. Besides, we only came for the chocolate! Lol read more

Came here a few months ago with my boo since since it was our first time going. i had a Groupon to use for the chocolate tasting and it included a small flight of hot chocolates from all over the world. We ended up going to the museum and walking through watching the videos about Hershey park and Milton Hershey. There were many replicas of cocoa beans, and had a display of Hershey bars through the years since they started. The museum was pretty cool because they had many displays and TVs with videos explaining why Milton Hershey opened up Hershey Park and the beginning days of chocolate production. In the one room they had a huge machine that blends and mixes up the chocolate which was pretty cool to see. Also the smell of chocolate was the main aroma throughout the building which made your mouth water. After we went through the museum, we headed to do the Chocolate Around the World tasting which was a lot of fun. We ended our Hershey experience by doing some shopping in the Hershey store. read more

There are a couple chocolate bars I have never seen in stores so that was a treat! There is a free ride inside that takes you through the chocolate making process. There are also additional attractions you can pay for (a bit on the pricey side but seems like everything these days). The food court is extremely expensive and the food isn't good in my opinion. We've been here countless times and my daughter is always excited to see this. Honestly me, my interest in visiting this place is getting low but if I see my daughter happy I'm happy too. They have made some minor changes on the floor layout and still the lines on the food court is still long, as usual. Came here on a college service trip and it was definitely not for me - if you are not into Hershey's Chocolate (fyi I didn't choose to come here but my college suggested it or something during our trip), I don't recommend it b/c there's plenty of free chocolate and this "Customize Your Own Chocolate Bar" thing which is kind of fun (i.e. you get to choose your own toppings, flavor design, customize packaging design) and the bar is HUGE. Stopped here for a mommy daughter day and we had a wonderful time! The customer service here is always top notch. The employees are so kind, take their time helping you and really care. It made it a more memorable experience. We were there to try out their Reese's build your own cup. And it was delicious and fun. My daughter and I both ordered our own PB cups because we are huge fans of Reese's. We arrived at opening time so there was a short line. Once we arrived, it took about 5-10 minutes to take your order, watch them mix it in, and then top your cup with chocolate, pb, or Carmel syrup. What a fun experience. They told us the cups last 2 weeks in the fridge, but we ate it in less than a week. We quick hopped on the Hershey ride and learned all about their chocolate and got a free small Hershey bar at the end. They also had sugar free bars too! We also did the candy machine and crammed as much sweets as we could in our pail. And customer service there was so friendly! We didn't have enough time to try all of their adventures, but we stopped in their food court line and had some amazing jolly rancher slushes with their famous beer pretzel with three amazing dipping sauces beer cheese, chocolate, and heath bar honey mustard. Like so many attractions nowadays, the basic visit is inexpensive (free here), but basic is basically almost nothing. If you want additional experiences, expect to fork over $10 to $15 for each item (tasting, show, etc.). Know that free admission gets you entry to a free "educational" ride that's like a marriage between a Hershey industrial commercial and 'It's a small world" ride. Factory tour, it's not. Free sample of candy at the end! Besides the ride, you get to shop at probably the biggest Hershey candy store in the world that does have a few exclusive and closeout items. Hershey's Chocolate World is the place for any child or child at heart to have all things chocolate (you can get a special chocolate spa at The Hotel Hershey that isn't too far from the chocolate world by the way and the spa features are amazing). Hershey's Chocolate World is free, including the free tour ride. But if you wish to do any of the other things, you will have to pay either a la cart or by package (cheaper this way if you choose to do everything or most of the different things to do). I highly recommend that you arrive here early, as other fellow Yelp members had mentioned, as it does get busier as the day wears on which means long lines that you will have to wait in. My husband and I arrived a little after opening on a Tuesday, around 9:12 am. We were able to get a parking spot and then came inside (to a very large gift shop, lol). We headed to the free tour, which begins with reading the timeline boards about the history of Milton Hershey's start into the candy world. He failed twice before Hershey chocolate became this amazingly tasty company that it is today. At the end, you will get down a ramp to catch a ride in a small ride and see how chocolate is made, from the beginning with the cacao bean. This ride last about 10 minutes and at the end you will get a small fun size hershey bar to enjoy. After we did that, we ended up purchasing tickets for the trolley tour. Alone it cost $15.95 but you may save some extra money if you purchase the package/ bundle. There is a trolley tour that last 45 minutes that include sing a longs and character actors reenactments. There is also another tour that last 90 minutes that focus more on the history of Milton Hershey's life. Both are the same price. Then we headed to the food court that was towards the back of Hershey World and ordered a Milkshake Flight, $12.95 prior to tax ($13.73 w/ tax). This flight comes with 3 flavors of your choosing (only 4 flavors are available). I ended up getting: Chocolate Milk Shake, S'more Milk Shake and Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk Shake. My husband and I really loved the s'more and the peanut butter flavors the best. Love that there is plenty of seating available, including a nice outdoor eating as well. After that, we purchased souvenirs for family and ended up getting out of here within 3 hours. There is free parking for up to 3 hours so be sure to plan your visit accordingly if you do not want to pay for it. Overall, we had a great time here and am glad I was able to visit. read more

The name says it all. It's chocolate world!!!! During covid, you need a reservation to enter. You can make this easily online. As soon as you enter the store your nose is greeted with the scent of chocolate and your eyes sees so many different chocolate options! Every Hershey brand is all over! Reese's, Kit Kat, twizzlers, jolly rancher, Hershey bars, kisses...I want to get chocolately wasted! Besides all the candy that you'd ever see in your life, there's also apparel, toys/games, keychains, pins, kitchen things and a lot more. Prices are average but they have a lot of "2 for" and "4 for" deals. There's a bunch of different food places within chocolate world to get your sweet tooth on. Each little cafe features something different. My suggestion would be to visit them all and then make your decision as to what you want to indulge on. There's also things to do. There's the 4d experience, the Hershey story, creating your own chocolate bar and so much more. They have "bundles" if you want to do more than one thing. Sooo much chocolate! read more

Flashback to Summer 2019 Review: my cousins and I went on a day road trip from Philly to here on an overcast rain day. So we could enjoy this place while staying indoors all day long. The dark ride inside Hershey's Chocolate World was fun. It reminded me of Haunted Mansion but a more fun chocolate themed ride as you board Hershey chocolate themed ride vehicles instead of Doom Buggies. I had a great time with my family! They even told me where the camera was at the end of the ride so I could get an awesome ride photo. My family and I did a lot of shopping while we were there since there was a food court and each Hershey's product had their own large merchandise sections. They have the most delicious chocolate chip cookies that I've ever tasted! It was so good to eat on the road trips too. We got some souvenirs, fresh chocolate from the factory and cookies to eat and share with everyone. It was a fun mini theme park experience and best of all free! We didn't go into Hershey's park due to it being a rain day and having to pay but hopefully in the future, I can visit the theme park too! The reviews were mixed when me and my husband decided to go there. It supposed to be good for kids and adults. We purchased 4 attractions together tickets and lunch. The tickets were about $300 for two of us. We were looking forward to this trip (considering that driving was almost 5 hours). When we arrived to our first attraction - it was quite stupid and fake (the women was screaming and the man spoke with heavy British accent that was hard to understand). Second attraction was our trolley tour. We choose the Original one because it had a higher reviews. It was raining and the trolley bus was late by 15 minutes. 2 staff members tried to entertain the audience by singing a songs, but the voices were not good and we could see nothing from the window due to the rain. Also, it was super cold and the conductor had AC on (at our request to lower it) - he completely ignored us. We learned nothing and could see nothing! Our third attraction we were late (all tickets had a specific time to be there for), because our BUS WAS LATE. We tried to explain it but it falls on a death ears. Our 3rd attraction was making our own chocolate, and we missed it. Lastly, we had our 4th attraction - watch a cartoon in a movie theater to learn at least a little about Hershey place - but no, this didn't happen either. Finally, we want to cash our tickets and have lunch, but there were 3 places available: some kind of Mexican place, pretzel place and something else. No buffet style, the lines were super long and after standing in line for 40 minutes we left without lunch. This was awful experience, not only we learned nothing about Hershey chocolate, but we couldn't even use our tickets that we paid for. When we arrived home, I called and spoke with the manager, who was taking our complaint over the phone promising me to get back to us the next day and .......NOTHING. It has been a week - we didn't get any money back (as we have not used our certificates completely), no apologies, nothing. After months of waiting, my wife and I finally have ARRIVED! My wife has already written her review, but only because I made this a POINT OF INTEREST during our vacation. The world knows this name. It makes people smile and makes your blood get that extra punch of energy when you devour it. I just can't believe I just visited and now I am back home...Thousands of miles away. If you haven't made a plan to visit Pennsylvania, you should because we just came back from the world FAMOUS: Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Located on the same property as HersheyPark on the south side of HerrsheyPark Dr. between Park Ave. and Park Blvd., you will see the large parking lot of Hershey and home of the Hershey's Chocolate World! At the time of this writing and due to COVID-19, Timed-Tickets are required to enter Hershey's Chocolate World. I am not sure how much parking is since it was free when my wife and I visited. The parking lot is HUGE and highly, likely it was for the HersheyPark as it is located next door. Timed Tickets are free via their website. Even before entering the queue, you can see across the street, Welcome to Hershey, home of the Catherine Hall Milton Middle School. Before entering the building, you will see some awesome vehicles from the Hershey Trolley and the KISS MOBILE. The Trolley Tours are a paid tour and requires a separate reservation/ticket. We had a 1:30pm Ticket, but since we were early by 30 minutes, they allowed us in early and scanned our QR Code. Temperatures were required prior to entering. I have no idea how I am going to write everything about Hershey's Chocolate World in one review. Here we go!! The Storefront alone is like entering a movie theatre. The exterior is made out of brick or at least to the visual eye. It also has a clock on top that reminds me of a certain clocktower in the past, present, and future. And, of course, we were greeted by the famous chocolate names in the world: KISSES, Hershey, and Reese's. Once you walk through that door, don't even think about leaving...BECAUSE hershey's Chocolate World is now Hershey's Chocolate Heaven! For those who had a non-stop trip, the restrooms are to your left when you walk in. To your right, a mini theme park and mall in one structure. Hershey's Products EVERYWHERE!!! What's even worst: they have their OWN FOOD COURT!! Just get the ambulance ready when I go in to a sugar rush. WOW!! My wife and I had to take walk around before we did anything. Our pupil of our eyes were probably expanded to the maximum because there was so much to do. We walked through the massive merchandise of everything Hershey. I swore I got a cavity by saying WOW under my mask. Souvenirs from magnets, shirts/sweaters, cups to my worst nightmare: BAGS OF CANDY. You can even get those large size of candy bars: The Five Pound of Chocolate. I am on vacation...I can't add any more weight!! After going through a barrage of Chocolate Warfare, we entered the dangerous FOOD COURT! When something is too good to be true...Its not...IT GETS BETTER!! My wife eyes on this pretzel that came with two/three different sauces. I was wondering why a pretzel would need that many sauces. When we did a full roundtrip of the food court, I realized why. It was a LARGE BAVARIAN Pretzel. Herhsey's definitely knows how to supersize their stuff, but please give a pretzel meant for one person. However, my wife did catch something that she did want before we left. I even snapped a photo looking at the advertisement. She saw the Hershey's Staff make: a Birthday Cake Milkshake ($8). If you order any of the milkshakes, they add a piece or multiple pieces of candy to your Milkshake. I will say this: Hershey you did good! While I was slobbering in my review, the other focal point of Hershey's Chocolate World is the famous "FREE" tour. Milton Hershey had a dream and he is still loved today in the billions or even trillions of chocolate pieces devoured. The free tour gives you a journey of how chocolate is made. There are other tours/special ticket events where you can build your own chocolate or watch a 4D Movie. I guess you can eat chocolate while you watch it! and Of course, as I mentioned, you can take a tour with one of the Trolley's outside and get a tour or Hershey, PA. My fascination about Chocolate is as big as yours. Every day we learn something about how chocolate affects our lives and more importantly how we smile by giving one away. The experience at Hershey's Chocolate World was a small fraction of the true piece of Hershey. This place is a dream and every wallet's nightmare. It's a cute chocolate experience when you walk in. Filled with basically everything chocolate. T-shirts, keychains, all the chocolate you can think of. We headed to the restaurant upstairs and the food was good. I chose the shrimp tacos. It came with fries and I also ordered a nice drink. I definitely would eat there again. My sister had a different experience. Our waitress- I forgot her name "took" her tip by not giving my sisters change back. That was very rude and disrespectful. My sister noticed politely asked her for the change. The waitress didn't put up a fuss and gave it back because I guess she knew we knew what she tried to do. Disgusting . Check the line for the ride first! So there is a line for a ride at the Chocolate World and your best bet is to check the line first. If it stretches beyond the entrance to the ride into the retail store, you are in for a really long wait. You can check out the rest of Chocolate World first. For some reason I think some of the chocolates here are more tasty than elsewhere outside of Chocolate World, maybe some Hershey mind control but perhaps fresh from the factory is a real thing? There are some specials on the chocolates but they are mostly going to be more than what you find elsewhere. They do have some things you can't find in the elsewhere, as of today, I haven't found Peanut Butter Lover Reese's, with peanut butter on the exterior, elsewhere before. The merchandise they sell is most often more costly. There is a food court in the back, definitely hit the milkshakes or the frozen chocolate stands before you leave. They had a milkshake flight special when I visited which absolutely made sense of course! If you visit on a hot day and intend to visit the park, goto Chocolate World at the end of day, less chance of returning to your car and finding melted chocolates. Make sure you keep an eye on your clocked parking entrance time, if you are visiting Hershey Park at the same time, it might be better to park in the Hershey Park lot instead of Chocolate World as it is by the hour instead of day. read more

Dedicate time to spend here separate from your park day to take advantage of the rides and experiences. You won't need a whole day, just a few hours. Pack your patience and bring plenty of cash because lines and money are needed for a decent time here. Chocolate world is located right outside of the main entry gates, so no admission is needed. Parking is the general park parking lot and can be accessed by foot on a short walk. The main event here is a large store which sells everything Hershey. Outside of that, there's a couple of small attractions here. Our problem was after walking all day in the park, we just dropped in to grab a few souvenirs. After seeing the lines for the ride, we opted to skip it the attractions offered. Overall ok experience, but I wouldn't make it a priority outside of our already scheduled visit for the day. Pro tip- check out at the self checkout. The regular checkout line can be very long. read more

Fun factory tour! Learn about the process and history behind the magical love of hershey! There are many different activities to do, and some are bundle prices if you know there's multiple activities to do. Become filled to the sense with chocolate smells with merchandise and food courts full of sweets. I had to go on the chocolate tour 2x to get the photo camera at the right spot lol. We loved Hersheypark so much we went back after only 3 months!!! Our daughters loved the Treatville Halloween Fun! We got to stop my multiple areas and they collected candy. It is a great place for kids as well as adults. There r some interesting shows which need to check the timing before you plan to go so that you can rsvp. There's also a free ride where they explain the process of chocolate making. I also saw a pop up characters parade with dancing and kids r enjoying. read more

Great place to see. Lots of fun things to do from creating your own chocolate bars to a moving ride showing the process of how chocolate is made. Would have given 5 stars but 60$ for parking beyond 3 hours is ridiculous, especially when the big tour is 2.5 hours and lots of stuff to see. I would recommend this place. What a great experience we recently had at Hershey's Chocolate World! You certainly don't have to be a kid to enjoy it... then again we ARE kids at heart! We did reserve tickets for the events online: Chocolate show, Create your own candy bar... and you can take the tour anytime! Parking was well organized. Lot was huge and we really didn't have any trouble getting out. You do have to pay for parking after a certain amount of time (can't recall if it's 2 hours?) The store is huge! There's a selection of candy that you (or maybe it's just us) can't get locally. Of course we stocked up for the way home! Great place for a family trip! read more

If I had reviewed this on one of my 1st visits as a young adult or when I came with only my school aged kids I would give it 4 stars. The exhibits were fun and the kids loved tasting all the different chocolates. However, we brought our 10mo.old twins on this trip and had a terrible experience. After our rather large family.paid $600 for 9 people to be admitted we were told to leave our baby wagon/stroller outside (unsupervised). We were told it was "common knowledge" that the firemarshall doesn't allow infant transport anywhere in hershey world (except the gift shop and reataurant area). This was not clearly indicated on the website and for those of us from outside PA, it was not common knowledge. My issue was that they don't have an area to offer young kids a chance to play or roam either. Hershey world is very very crowded so navigating through indoor, congested crowds was stressful for myself, my family and especially my.mobile.infants who were reatricted to our arms for nearly 5hrs as we completed all the exhibits we pre-purchased (required to pre-purchase per the website who claims they sell out quickly). I do NOT recommend this activity for families with young infants/children, especially families of multiples.
