My wife and I rented a '15 Nissan Sentra for 8 days at approximately $250 from this location. I was very happy with the rate and the quality of the car, though it was dirty with hair from a previous renter trapped in the fabric of the passenger sun visor. When my wife and I arrived at the location, the doors were locked and there was no representative present. After only 5 minutes a representative arrived to the location and quickly began to help us, he also apologized for the inconvenience. The representative asked my wife to sign the acknowledgement of the terms and conditions before presenting the paperwork to us which I consider to be unacceptable. The representative gave us wrong information regarding PlatePass and toll roads. We asked him, "how does it work with PlatePass and toll roads?" The representative informed me that regardless of whatever toll road we come to, to not pay cash for it, but to drive through the prepaid toll lane because PlatePass will bill us later. The representative told myself and my wife that if we pay cash at any toll roads, we will automatically be billed by PlatePass for the toll as well and will effectively be paying for the toll twice. The rep failed to communicate that in certain states a windshield toll transponder was needed for cashless toll lanes, well the vehicle was not equipped with a windshield toll transponder and because of the wrong information provided by the representative we violated a toll. I would not blame Hertz or the representative if he simply showed me the important information regarding tolls section in the terms and conditions, I would have been happy to have read it myself and will in the future. I do blame Hertz and that representative for giving me wrong information. When my wife asked for the paperwork before signing, the rep seemed annoyed. When my wife asked to see the vehicle before authorizing her car, the rep looked over at another rep on site and they shared inappropriate "o jeez..." facial expressions, very uncool, you are not that slick and I am not that stupid. I am not sure why they would think we would automatically trust them or this location considering its awful reviews online. The rep told me he was new. Upon returning the vehicle another representative confirmed the vehicle did not have a windshield toll transponder. He informed me we would simply receive a bill in a month or so for any violated tolls. We have not to date been charged erroneously for any pet or smoking fees. I did not want to add another bad review of this place online but come on. Step it up folks. read more

Probably the worst overall car rental experience in my life. First we pre paid a reservation for a car paid the whole thing up front, they gave our car away and called us an hour before our reservation to let us know, then they helped me make a new reservation for a different location for a car they did not have. The employees couldn't care less one on her phone while the other who was "helping" us took a phone call mid conversation. We ended up going to an enterprise location and had a wonderful experience, long story short just go with enterprise, I would pay double to not have to deal with the terrible customer service experience Hertz has to offer. I also used to do their pest control and they had a German cockroach infestation in the break room so don't be surprised if you see any in their cars. read more

so disorganized. had a 9:30 appointment. apparently my car was supposed to arrive in return at 9 but the man didn't return it until 10. I couldnt take any of the 9 cars in the lot. then I waited for them to clean the car that returned half hour late. they offered to extend my return time, which of course doesn't help me because I have to return it for a flight which is not goi g to move because of their poor planning. I gave hertz another chance because the one on Atlantic beach did this to me four THREE HOURS, but no more chances. they suck. read more

I got a voicemail that I left my invisalign retainers in the car. The guy told me he had them and he would hold on to them at this location. Not to my surprise, I get there and they've thrown them away! I have to spend $500 and wait 2 months to replace them. Why even call in the first place, there must be no cooperation here. DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible experience. The cars are not serviced when given to you, not safe to drive. We paid $1000 for a 2022 Chevy Tahoe and were given it with worn down tires, without windshield fluid and without ENGINE OIL. The manager's response was that they don't know anything about the cars they give to their customers. What kind of business runs a place when you don't know what you have??? You are playing with peoples' lives . They supposedly offer roadside assistance but YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN, no assistance given. Had to stay in a minus 20 degree weather for over two hours in a broken car with kids inside. After a 45 minute hold on the phone , the suggestions that HERTZ road assistance offered was to wait for 3-4 hours and have the car towed or go to the auto shop to purchase engine oil. There were no auto shops around. Being Christmas time, there was no taxi/uber service so had to ask strangers for help and was finally able to find engine oil. All this ruined our vacation , had to cancel plans and all this happened because someone failed to service this car. I cant imagine how often this must happened to others so BEWARE before you go to HERTZ. read more

First off, I rarely leave 1 star reviews so sorry for my rant.... I was not impressed with this Hertz location. I have used Hertz several times but this office seems to have some issues that really frustrated me. I had been in a car accident so my insurance carrier had made reservations for me at Hertz and at the repair center. I called a couple hours before dropping off my car so I could be picked up. They told me I couldn't let them know ahead and to have the collision center call when I get there because it would only take a minute to come pick us up since they were just a few blocks away. My sister and nephew came with me to take the car. When I got to the collision center, they called Hertz and they were put on hold. About 15 minutes later, the woman hung up and called back. They picked up and said they were sending someone to pick us up. My nephew ended up not feeling well so waiting wasn't fun, we kept him in my running car with A/C until Hertz got there. About 20 minutes later, I went back inside and the collision center called Hertz again to see where they were. They said they had already left to come pick us up. Another 10 minutes later, a guy showed up to pick us up. It turned out the office was about a 2 minute drive so they hadn't left and had merely forgotten. The representative said he took full responsibility but offered nothing else. My insurance had reserved a compact car since I just needed it for a week and didn't want to pay too much. The guy told me all they had was SUV's and that they couldn't give me a rate for a car. I was really frustrated. A week later when my car was done, I went to drop off the car and have them take me to the collision center. They told me they couldn't so to drop the car off there and they would get it later. I felt like their service was lacking, they didn't care about what was reserved, didn't want to be bothered picking up someone or dropping them off and actually just forgot to pick us up. This experience has completely changed my thought of Hertz and I will no longer use them when I have an option. They need to do some serious work! read more

UNSAT SERVICE!!! have been at the Phillips location many times before & have NEVER asked or utilized their "pick-up or driver service" until today & let me say that as a "Gold Member" this classification is not of importance at this location!!! I use them every week because they are close to my home. I had one bad experience and the manager quickly turned that around. Once the issue was brought to his attention every experience after has been extremely positive. They do not have a lot of cars to choose from, but they will get a car from another location for you if requested. The owner has 3 locations. I had the manager drive me to another location in order to make sure I had the car I needed for my business trip. read more

THIS WAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. Went to pick up my prepaid reservation at one location, sat there for an hour because his "computer was slow and he couldn't get service to properly complete the rental" decided to go to another location 10 minutes away. That location was closed permanently but without any type of warnings online. Drove to a THIRD LOCATION. The desk agent was rude. He was setting things up when he said he needed to go to the back and would return in a second. Came back with a credit check!!!!! HE DID NOT ASK ME IF IT WAS OKAY TO RUN A CREDIT CHECK!!!!!! My reservation was PREPAID WITH A DEBIT CARD. It makes absolutely no sense for him to run a credit check!! When he did this without asking or any warning I decided I was not longer going to use hertz because you guys absolutely SUCK. I called the customer service line to explain everything that I went through and make sure my reservation was CANCELED and that I was going to be refunded. The lady told me yes it was canceled and I will see the refund in a few days. Received a call from the same desk guy saying he couldn't cancel it on his end and to make sure I call the customer service line to make sure it was cancelled but I had already done so. A week later I still did not see my money returned so I called a SECOND time and spoke with a different gentleman who reassured me the reservation was canceled and that I should see my refund. TODAY A WEEK LATER: MY CARD WAS CHARGED FOR THE RESERVATION!!!! UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Called a THIRD time and this lady told me no one canceled it prior to today. HOW DO 3 SEPARATE PEOPLE NOT KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY CANCEL A RESERVATION. Now my account is in the negative and I have to wait 7-10 business days to be refunded. Waiting on an email that I'm not sure will ever come because who knows if this person even did their job correctly at this point. I have no confirmation email that the claim was even made. WHO KNOWS!!!! NEVER EVER WILL I BE USING HERTZ EVER AGAIN. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to do the same. You guys are absolutely HORRIBLE. read more
