Hertz in Auburn helped me out when I was in a bind this week. I rented a care in New Jersey to drive home to Dudley. I had to drop the car off in Auburn and did not realize they stopped giving rides home at 4:30pm. Due to traffic, I was not going to get there until after 5:15pm. The manager was nice enough to leave the office early and give me a ride home! I really appreciated this as it saved me both time and money. read more

Ive rented 2 vehicles the first for a week and second for a few days. Both Vehicles look and sound like they've never seen maintenance let alone been washed. I rent very frequently for work and am now going to go elsewhere from this point on. Dont waste your time here. read more

Tried calling on a Tuesday afternoon to ask a simple question. After navigating an unintuitive automatic menu which did not answer that question, found the option to talk to a person. The phone rang for 5 minutes so I took a break for a while and tried again. The phone rang for several minutes again and when someone finally answered, they asked if I could hold. I foolishly said sure and was then on hold for 15 minutes until I gave up because I had things to do. Called back two more times with the plan to say I can't hold I simply need to get some information and don't have all the time in the world, but the phone was left ringing both times for 5+ minutes with no answer. read more

There is literally no where to park when picking up your rental. The lot is tiny and full to the gills. Took about 45 minutes to get my car. The car I received smells like someone smoked 10 packs of cigarettes in it then sprayed it with a terrible scent to cover it up. The smell is so overwhelming and did not subside. When I picked the car up I noticed driving away it was practically empty. They also gave me a gas guzzler of a car when the car should have been comparable to what I own (rented through insurance). Via car dealership needed a rental. They use Auburn Hertz. Promised my credit card was for paperwork o ly and I would not be charged. 104$ was charged. They stated the rental was not not filled with gas. 10.40$ per gallon. Ten gallons. What a scam read more

They didn't have the car I reserved it gave me a similar one a charged me an extra 100. Then it broke down leaving me in the cold with no support. It was an electric car and it lost power while I charged it. I had AAA. Come he knew what was wrong and fixed it right away. Also headlight was out I had to fix. I was told that if I left the car on the lot they are closed for the weekend and I would be responsible for the car. avoid it read more

do not pre pay. yes it saves money but if you return your vehicle early, the money for those days is not refundable. this is not explained at any point. until you question it. they also apparently do not clean out the cars after they have been returned. we left my ez pass transponder in the rental and didn't realize it for a couple of days. Not one call to us saying hey we found this. We now have to pay for a new transponder because they lost it. read more

Terrible customer service and the vehicles are poorly taken care of. The associates of very rude and show they don't want to be there.

To start, I had an 11am reservation and didn't leave there until 1230. There were about 5 people waiting, and one person working. I get that, but the one person working, Mike, was not using his time efficiently, and just had an overall bad attitude. I'm not sure what he was doing, I'm assuming the car I reserved wasn't available, but he kept switching cars and swiping my card and taking my info. After the third time, someone arrived with a drop off, and he decided to switch me to that car. When I said, "at this point I don't care, just rent me a car" he told me to "deal with it". To be so rude and disrespectful to a customer is unacceptable. I know he was stressed, but you can't take it out on a customer who has been waiting an hour and a half. In addition, the car was not cleaned at all, let alone Covid standards, nor did he offer. When I asked for his name, he gave it to me along with his manager's name which leads me to believe this location doesn't give a crap. If it wasn't Saturday afternoon and I was in a bind, I would have walked out. Terrible experience and I wouldn't go there again or recommend to anyone else. read more

I booked a full size car with them almost a month before the pick up date in April. when I showed up they did not have the car size I booked. instead of trying to help or locate the same size car at a different location they tried to force me and 4 other adults into a small car. very poor customer service. so I cancelled the reservation and went elsewhere. they still had the balls to charge me a cancellation fee which I'm now still fighting (4 months later) through my credit card company. terrible customer service, not willing to help but more than happy to take your money. read more

Do not rent from this location for it will cost you nothing but money and problems! My girlfriend and I used this location to rent a vehicle for three days! Our first vehicle we received was brought to us dirty and un cleaned or sanitized! We drove it off the lot and immediately noticed issues with the steering being very lose. We took the car back to Exchange it out for another one and had to wait hours for a replacement vehicle! Once we finally were able to switch out vehicles we received a Nissan Sentra that smells like shit inside and already had a signal for a low tire pressure. Woke up the next morning went out to the car and had a flat front left tire. Had to change the tire myself road side assistance was no help and the manager at the Hertz rental location was no help at all and rude! Told me it was my problem! So save your money use a different rental car company and never go here! This place is a total rip off the cars are totally unsafe and not COVID compliant! Staff doesn't care and it's a rip off! Cars will break down and the location manager will charge you to fix the car! read more

Do not use!!!! First and foremost, the car was absolutely disgusting. Food on every seat, it's smelled terrible and definitely wasn't cleaned properly. Second, I went through them with an insurance claim, they held the original amount and then started holding other amounts when there was a discrepancy between insurance and them. They NEVER notified me that there was an issue with the extension and continued to charge my card.... I fixed the extension they got their money from insurance company and couldn't refund any of the additional charges until I returned the car and completed the process.. So for the entire length of time that my car was being fixed they tied up a bunch of money in my account!!! Their customer service absolutely sucked, they were not helpful in any way. I am not one to review and especially negatively review but this was absolutely a horrendous experience!! I will definitely never use them again, and will warn friends and family to stay clear! read more

The experience started out OK. The Chrysler 200 had a broken headlight but still worked. Everyone was nice. Got the car and left. It seemed to have a slight hesitation on starts from time to time. It has gotten worse. When you push the gas the car does not go then slams into gear and takes off. I called the office and they said no other cars were available. I was also told this is normal for newer cars. Then I was told it was normal for flex fuel cars. All of this is untrue. After doing a little research on line. The 200 is known to have electronic issues with the transmission and the computer probably needs to be updated. 2 days later I tried calling other hertz branches which I kept getting sent to the corporate call center who would send me to roadside assistance. Finally I got a hold of other locations only to be told there are no other cars available and to call back later. I will never go through hertz again. read more

I had to use this service to get home for Thanksgiving - I got the car that I wanted for a price I felt was reasonable. The guy who worked with me was really friendly and helpful (not sure where these bad customer service complaints are coming from but it wasn't the guy that helped me).
