This place is a scam artist. Do not rent from here. Go to Ontario airport instead. It was a bait and switch. We booked in advanced and paid in advance for $55.85 a day vehicle. They claimed they didn't have the car when we showed up and the girl at the checkout had the audacity to propose that we upgrade the car with an addl $45/day charge for their mistake??? So now they are charging me extra for their incompetence, I'm out $200 extra. There was no discounts offered, nothing. We followed Hertz rules and regulations and this was the treatment we got? I'm stuck because I needed a car today. I could have booked somewhere else instead of paying $100/day fee. You guys should be sued and put out of business. I will file a complaint about your business everywhere for your crappy business practice. I have used Hertz before and this was the first time I was treated like this. I wish there were a lower rating than one star so I could give it to this location. This has been, without a doubt, the worst rental car experience I've had in my life. I've had to use this location at least three times through Hamburg Ford while my car was in the dealership for repairs, paying up to $60 a day for a rental each time. Every single visit has been disappointing. The first time, about two years ago, they gave me a Jeep Cherokee with over 40,000 miles. It smelled terrible, made strange noises, and felt unsafe. I called multiple times over the course of a week asking for a replacement, but they always had excuses and never swapped it out. The second time, they gave me a Ford Mustang. It wasn't terrible, but the car was clearly old and the tires were extremely worn. I was genuinely concerned they might blow out while driving. The third time, today 03/27/2026 they tried to give me a Nissan Kicks, which is one of the smallest cars Nissan makes. I told them it didn't fit my needs, but they kept insisting I take it and promised to replace it on Monday. Based on my previous experiences, I refused. At this point, I'd rather depend on others for rides than take one of their vehicles. What I expect next would be call from them to make a follow up but I k know they won't. Because they simply does not care and that would for me to leave a second review. Normally, when you go to a rental car company, if they don't have the car you reserved, they upgrade you to keep the customer satisfied. This location does the exact opposite--they downgrade you one or even two classes without any concern. Patty and another employee lied to me saying that " they are booked for the weekend" I went on their website and they have cars available for rent throughout the weekend. Best location to rent a car. Very pleased with their customer service, rates and vehicles. I am always greeted when walking in. Rental process is quick and smooth. I've rented 3x and for pleasure. This last rental I got a brand new 2025 Bronco Sport and had all bells and whistles. You never know which vehicle you get but felt very lucky to have gotten a brand new car. A gentleman from the Ontario location helped me at this location, didn't get his name but he was very nice, excellent customer service! Highly recommend this location. read more

Im so disgusted and embarrassed to be seen in the car I received from the Hertz Corona. The car is literally beat to hell on every corner, the rear bumper is broken, the tires are bald and it's filthy! It was never given a proper wash but more or less wiped down with a dry cloth to pass as cleaned. This is the second rental from Hertz in the past 2 months and there is a definite pattern. I'll never EVER rent from any Hertz anywhere again and I warn anyone else in need of a rental, literally go anywhere else!!!!! read more

The way the message was delivered because of there new changes in cards they accept was absolutely a bad experience. Out of the past few months of experience, I do believe the management needs redone here. Even when saying I would call corporate, one employee mentioned "that wouldn't matte". Very unprofessional establishment. I booked a car they didn't have and then they told me that I needed a credit card with at least 500 limit on it. I didnt have access to that so I decided to leave. I checked the credit card that I left them,That they said wasn't enough and they charged my card. I discovered the charge a few weeks later and the lady I spoke to told me to call corporate which I never recieved an answer or a call back but my take away from this is the lady has done this before and I assume that from the casual way she handled this. I won't be dealing with Hertz anymore and that's unfortunate the way I was treated because this was my go to service. The location is a bad location and ran very poorly. read more

The people that work at this Hertz, and this office's integration with my Insurance Company (Tesla Insurance), was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Just a fantastic experience all around. The people above all, were so excellent, so friendly, so caring and attentive, personable and more. They first called me (Thursday) a few days before I was set to pick up my rental car to confirm on my end that I will be there on Monday to pick it up, they I'm sure went through their own processes internally to ensure a Tesla Model 3 would be available for me on the day my insurance company asked me to go pick it up. On the day of (a Monday morning), they were super super busy, but my car was there waiting for me. Hertz was integrated nicely with Tesla Insurance. The client rep on Monday was so patient in answering all our questions even though they were so busy. Just a phenomenal experience all around. If you're getting a rental car here, through your own insurance company because your car will be in repair, come into the office having already reached out to your own insurance company to make sure they will cover the insurance on the rental car. That will save you some time when deciding to go with Hertz insurance on the rental or your own insurance. Just a little tip from my own experience. The rental car business is a highly logistically complex industry, especially when working with Insurance companies, and especially when customer demand for rental cars is so high, I hope more people have a greater appreciation for how complex this process can be and how simplified Hertz and the employees here try to make it. In my personal view of life, we have to have grace with one another as human beings first and foremost, treat each other like humans before we get lost in our roles as "customers" or "businesses" or "employees" - There was a human and personable touch here at this Hertz location, and I noticed it, and I greatly appreciated it. I wish I could do a full review, but they gave my vehicle to someone else despite booking a reservation in person the day prior. This means they do not have good communication with their own staff and their customers. I was really depending on this vehicle to be ready. LUCKILY, I read the reviews and called an hour before to make sure I don't waste my time having someone drive me there. A lady named maria or mariah, answered, said she doesn't have my rental and put me on hold for 20 minutes. She didn't even check back from time to time so I just hung up. If they had my rental and wanted my money, they would have called me back. This was a huge inconvenience. Made me change my whole day and had to call a couple of friends for favors at peak traffic time. I lost today, but they lost my business forever. Do not come here. Terrible business. read more

I rented a car from them, and it smelled TERRIBLE. The worst body odor I've ever smelled. I brought it to their attention, and they Febrezed the seats and called it good. It didn't even cover up the smell. There was also chocolate (I hope it was chocolate) ground into the passenger seat. The center console was filled with trash. The poorly-installed stereo skipped so much it was unusable. Oh, and they also tried to charge me (without telling me) an extra $15 for being a little (less than half an hour) early to pick up the car. I won't be back! read more

First thing I walked and noticed she was speaking to a staff member in a condescending way which made me feel uncomfortable from the get go. Then I noticed she had an attitude and a sarcastic tone with a customer as he was asking question about his rental. Came my turn, and she started asking me personal questions about my ethnicity and background... this is very in a place behavior in a professional setting and she needs to be removed. I cant say enough about the top notch customer service at Hertz in Corona! The entire team is so helpful and fast in processing your rentals, as well as keeping communication with you, especially when you need a rental during an accident claim! They stay in touch with your insurance company and keep up with your dates and let you know when it's time for an extension. The cars are clean and amazing to drive. I will never rent a car from Hertz in Corona ever again I had picked up My rental on Thursday evening and got a flat an hour later I called roadside assistance I was on the phone with them for about 40 minutes before somebody picked up I already had bought a new tire and changed it myself and now when I brought the car back to Hertz they're telling me that they won't reimburse me for the tire that I bought and I would have to pay for a new tire.. this is ridiculous they are very rude and how no customer service I tried to show him the pictures that I took cuz they want to say that I ran over something which I did not run over anything the tire was weathered and cracked. Horrible experience. Never rent from HERTZ. I picked up the vehicle(cargo van)and the gentleman told me it was clean. I proceeded to drive the vehicle Home to realize this van obviously had not been cleaned in years, by this time it was too late to return the vehicle( office was closed). I called customer service spoke with John who told me I could go to Santa Clarita at 730 the next morning and exchange the van. I ask him if he needed to note my account so they would know I was coming he said no they had plenty vans and it should not be a problem. I arrive at the Santa Clarita office and the gentleman tells me all his vans have been rented. I again call customer service who proceeds to tell me that she will make a note on my account and I can exchange the van in Santa Rosa but it would be better for me to go to the Santa Rosa airport. I filled up the gas tank and race off to the airport to attempt to make it before 5pm and upon entering the airport terminal I was told there was not a hertz in the airport. The next morning I went to Santa Rosa Hertz stood in line to have the rep tell me all cars had been reserved and it was nothing that he could do for me and I could check Petaluma. I asked if he could call he said No but I can give you the number. I didn't need the number I needed a clean and sanitized vehicle. I AGAIN called customer service hoping I would get some help to find out that they are closed on the weekend. After speaking with a supervisor RAINE she informed me she was the highest person that I could speak to over the weekend and there wasn't anything she could do. I am thoroughly disgusted with the van that had so much dust I had to use my asthmatic rescue inhaler. I am disgusted with the fact that no one at hertz seem to care that I rented a van that should have been below anyone's standards especially during the time of Covid when cleaning standards should be at the highest level. I guess hertz is exempt. I am disgusted at the fact that no one from hertz attempted to call me to assist with my complaint. Reserved a car two weeks before my trip paid in full online. Called the 4 days before and a day before to ensure everything was ready and would move smoothly. A guy from the location confirmed by reservation was correct and would be ready for pickup 5/22/22. I went in to pick up the rental and the lady said I was not able to get a car because the deposit had to be on a major credit card? I called in twice before and confirmed the debit card I used was acceptable and I was already charged and was taken out of my account. Ok no big deal, tried to transfer the reservation to my boyfriend and she said no we couldn't do that. We tried to rent a whole new car using his Amex and she said no he couldnt do that for him. She kept denying us even after I paid online two weeks in advance and the payment went through. She came up with every possibility to not rent us a car AFTER it was paid in full!! And she denied us a car in every way and did not offer to refund my money and has not to this day, she did not mentions a refund. She blamed me and said it was my fault because I was not supposed to pay with a debit card...? I told her but the website accepted the payment and she replied "that's your fault cause u weren't supposed use a debit card- you had to read the fine print" Non of this makes sense- plain and simple- I don't think they had a car for me. To put this on a customer who paid in advanced and is about to leave that day on a trip is rude and ridiculous. I went to enterprise on my way out and surprisingly they accept a debit card for purchase +deposit. Gave me no grief about getting a car and they were VERY busy. let me add an extra driver And it was a 20 mins process vs Waiting 20 mins for someone in the office to show up and 30 mins of not being able to get us a car or accept a debit card. I have not received a refund for my purchase on hertz.com and the lady did not offer me on and I never got a car that day or refund...(anyone else sense fraud?) I've called their sorry 1-800 number they supply you with (1-800-654-3131) that directs you back to the website or to call the office. It was the worst experience i have ever had. read more

I have no idea how this place is even open. It's awful. The employees are so unprofessional. I do not recommend them at ALL. One of the other reviews mentioned you pay in advance and get there then the car isn't available. This is 1000% true. I could literally go on but honestly the other reviews have pretty much covered it. I'm just baffled by it and how a business can even be ran this way. Someone and something needs to be changed. Even if you are going through insurance, this place is awful. I had two very bad experiences. There are certain employees that are extremely unprofessional. They've asked me to drive to a Carwash down the street to pick up my rental. They did not send photos of the car and details, like they said they would. They never contacted me about receipts. They are unwilling to find a car that works for you. They told me they only had big SUVs because my insurance would pay $50 a day. But I wanted a small car to save on gas. There were people that came after me that got small cars. I try my best not to give anyone bad reviews and give them chances, but this is just bad experience after bad experience. read more

Let me start off by saying that it Hertz me to leave a negative review for them. I rented a vehicle while mine was at the dealer for repairs. I rented the vehicle on a Friday evening for 10 days. About two days later I received a call authorizing me to rent the vehicle for a total of 20 days. I called the rental place and informed them that I was extending my rental for an additional 10 days. I spoke to Patty and she said ok and that a $330 deposit would be placed on my my cc. Fast forward a couple of days and I get a call from Hertz informing me that my vehicle was late. I call Patty and she checks her computer and tells me "oh you extended it. see me when you return the car." The day I'm returning the vehicle comes around and I'm sitting in the office waiting for Patty to return from I don't know where. 10 minutes later she comes in and instead of helping me first, she decides to go off with another customer in an attempt to claim a vehicle key with the supermarket manager next door. There I am waiting for her again all while my husband is waiting on me and making him late to his dr appointment. Another 10 minutes later and she's back and finally helping me. So it turns out that my extension on the vehicle did not go through. Patty sits at her computer telling me that the cc deposit did not go through and that's why the extension did not get applied. She then proceeds to tell me that she keeps thorough notes and that she called me and left me a message. I went through my voicemail history and did not have a call from her. She spent who knows how much time trying to figure out when I called her for the extension just wasting mine and my husband's time. She finally then tells me that I have to pay for the late fees on the vehicle because the extension did not go through. It was her fault as she did not call me or leave me a message as she claimed. Her "thorough" notes only said that I called for an extension and not extended. How thorough is that??!! Can't even prove to me that she called and left a message which she dis not! I told her that those late fees are her fault and I shouldn't be responsible for them. She tells me there's nothing she can do and that I have to call corporate to fix that. I have to call on my own time and fix her mistake!! What should of taken less than 5 minutes to return a vehicle took about 30! She wasted mine and my husband's time. She could of just told me that yes she screwed up and to call corporate and they would take care of the late fee issue instead of dicking us around and wasting our time!! read more

My disappointment of service at Hertz  car rental Corona location. As I pre booked a full size car at this location four days prior to pick up, I used and was charged through my Visa- Debit card. At no time during the reservation, booking, or collection of funds was my Visa- Debit card mentioned as problematic. As I arrived the Corona location on day of pick up, I was advised by the office assistant Manager Lan, (which I didn't appreciate her delivery and lack of professionalism) my Visa-Debit was not acceptable as a form of payment and the only payment type acceptable was a regular credit card. I have no issue using my credit card for the Hertz company policy; however I explained to the assistant Manager, I had no other credit card on me at the time and that I was not informed of the CC policy when booking the reservation. The office Assistant Manager Lan stated, they assumed you were using a CC when you made the reservation and they cannot do anything to help other then holding the assigned car for a maybe couple of hours while I get a CC and return to the store to complete the transaction. The location assistant Manager stated several times, "they" can't be held responsible and they had made a mistake but she didn't know what to tell me. I explained as the customer, "she" is "they" and she would not accept responsibility as she is representing Hertz Rent a Car. Very disappointed with the substandard service and the lack of the assistant Manager's ability to accept some responsibility for the issue. Needless to say, we booked another rental agency with far superior service, selection and cost/value. Big "Hertz" clearly doesn't mind if they hurt their customers ! Sad that a company of this size and net worth sees no need to add training and customer service skill sets to their front line employees including Managers! If you don't take care of your customers, someone else will. In this case they certainly did No longer a Hertz customer.  Try Enterprise! They are trying and delivering. read more

I will not be going back to Hertz nor will my husband when we need a rental. First, the lack of communication is aggravating, to say the least. Second, I was not given a choice as to which car I wanted, which I overlooked but that message could have been delivered better than, "This is what I have for you, here are the keys." Third, I was quoted at a rate of 35$ a day and ended up being charged 40$ a day. This price difference was not made aware to me at the time of the verbal discussion when renting the vehicle from the young lady assisting me. Forth, When she took me to the car, she took a few pictures of the vehicle and said she would send them to my email, which I gave her. Those pictures were never sent, though I took some myself. Fifth, under my insurance, I had up to a week covered and Hemborg Ford was covered for the second week. This was reconfirmed per conversation with both Hemborg Ford and Hertz of Corona. I did not find out that I was being overcharged till I saw the deduction from my account. On the Hertz receipt, it says that I had the car for 13 days when I did not have it for more than 8 or 9 days. I ended up being charged a few hundred more than I should have. To make matters worse, I have called Hertz for the past week and there is no way to get through to any live person as I have exceeded every possible phone dial selections I can. I will still fight this charge because it is not okay to treat customers this way. read more

Their vehicles are filthy and smell bad. We rented a vehicle form here in April; It smelled bad and had about 30,000 on it (most rentals are taken out of service by now). By the looks of the place I figured it wasn't get any better and I needed to get in the road so I took it. But, as soon as I drove about 30mph I heard what sounded like a "separated" tire (a tire that's about explode). So I stopped and check it out. Sure enough, it was a bad tire, that would never make the 1000+ mile trip. So I returned it. Now very late, the staff took their time helping other customers before getting to me, only to give me another smelly, even crappier vehicle with about 30,000 miles on it also. I've booked with hertz in other states and got nice vehicles that were clean. I will be using enterprise in the future. I've never had an issue with them. read more
