The plus side: convenient location within Cottonwood Plaza with nearby gas stations (next door and across Cottonwood). This absolutely makes refueling quick and easy before returning the vehicle. Also, there were no extra surprise upcharges, so what I was quoted on Booking.com was what I ended up paying. The negative side: wait times can be long since there was only one desk agent working both at pickup and drop off, so be prepared for delays. (Serious Chatty Kathy). Loss of one star. I ended up booking thru a travel site that gave me a better rate than Hertz Gold Plus. The car (an uncomfortable 2025 Jeep Compass Limited) ran fine for mountain driving, but it wasn't very clean. Possibly due to turnaround times and lack of staff. Fast food wrappings, dog hair and dust in the interior, bird poo on the exterior. Loss of another star. As a reminder, always take photos of your rental car at both pickup and return. This car only had 22k miles and quite a few scratches on the rear bumper. read more

The regional manager was impressively rude for someone whose job is, presumably, customer service. I asked a simple question that took less than five minutes, yet somehow managed to receive eye-rolls, condescending responses, and the distinct feeling that I was personally ruining his day by speaking to him. If making customers feel unwelcome is the company standard, they're absolutely crushing it. Update: While standing in front of them, I was told the cleaning fee would be $150. Imagine my surprise when my receipt showed a $250 charge instead. So not only was the service rude, but the information I was given was apparently fictional. If you enjoy being treated like a nuisance and paying mystery fees, this is the place for you. I am going to apologize to all readers of this, because this is going to be long! Dealing with Hertz has been a horrible experience. I will never set foot in another Hertz. EVER! My Husband and I were caught in a hail storm and we needed a rental while our car was being fixed. My Husband was told that Hertz would drop the car off at the collision center. When he talked to Hertz, he was informed that was not true. Ding #1, and you're going to see why communication is a big issue with Hertz. Regardless, we went ahead and reserved a car. My Husband was convinced he was getting a Tesla Model 3. Not only does the site say Tesla Model 3 with tiny little letters in a sea of words, saying "or similar", but he got at least one email each day after we made the reservation to the day we picked up the car (5 in total) telling him how to care for a Tesla, here's what you can do with the Tesla, you can now connect your phone to the Tesla... So, we expected the Tesla. Even if we didn't, we would expect an or similar, not an EV from a different class. Which brings us to the EV from a different class. We picked up our rental Tesla Model 3 or similar EV and we were surprised after practically spamming us for several days to get the Subaru Solterra, an EV, according to their site, isn't the same class. If it was, why are there two different prices? I wish I could tell you what those prices are, because it turns out there every time we look it's a different price. My Husband and I each looked today and we got two different prices. I got $63/ day for the Tesla and $57/ day for the Subaru and my Husband got $54/ day for the Tesla and $45/ day for the Subaru. Not the same class, otherwise it would be the same price. Also the same range and charging time (coming up). I also found that our digital paperwork says class E7 (that means a Tesla Model 3, or similar). The paperwork that was printed out the day we picked up the car says class L7 (that means Subaru Solterra, or similar). Again, not the same class. I had to dig for that information, but seeing one document say one thing and another say another thing (E7 versus L7) that sends up red flags all over the place. The NOT THE SAME CLASS flag. We asked that we be compensated somehow. The clerk, who was really very nice, said since we already paid there was nothing he could do. My Husband asked to speak to the manager. The manager came out from the back and only had "it's an 'or similar'" and "If you want the Tesla then you will have to go to Union Station to get it." As if we don't have jobs and a vehicle to get there. Not even a discussion no compromise, just disdain for the situation. My Husband demanded compensation, but we were denied that. In fact, he was even mocked with a "You demand it?!?" thrown back at him. Now the rub. We had no choice but to take the vehicle. We didn't have our car and it was clear that Hertz was not going to rectify the situation. So, we took it. We are not the kind of people who can stay at home and do nothing all day. We have lives, things we need and have to do; like everyone else. It was charged to 73% or 165 miles (there about). We immediately had to run an errand. I wanna say we were at about 42% when we returned home. It was going to take 36 hours to charge, which we didn't have because we had to use the car. And that's 42%. If we have to use the car every day then we will run out of charge at some point. Thankfully, we've been told that the car doesn't have to be charged up to 73% when we return it, because we will never get it there. If we had gotten the Tesla we would have not had so much of this issue (read; more mileage and less charging time). We were told to call the "Customer Relations" line. Note, that is NOT Customer Service. And, I can vouch for that. They were worse to deal with than the manager at this location. For starters, there are no options for an issue similar to what I was calling for. They had an option for Roadside assistance, which has it's own line, but not for a current issue or complaint. As such, I picked the things semi close to what I needed, expecting that I would be transferred. The first woman responds and asks for my rental record. Ding #... Where am I, 7? They don't have a record of that. She is able to use the Reservation # to find it. I tell her this is a complaint and she tells me that she will forward it to the manager at this location. I explain to her that it's a bad idea since this location and it's manager is part of the complaint and they did nothing for us. I stood there for almost 20 minutes by myself and he didn't even bother coming out of the backroom and tell me what was going on . I am very disappointed in this company. May not be a store thing, more corporate office. But I rented a car on 6-11-25 and returned the vehicle on 6-27-25. They have sent me multiple things in the mail saying I have not paid my bill. I have proof that on 6-28-25 my credit card was charged the $1,131.07. As well as the next time I rented another vehicle from the same store off cottonwood, I received the rental on 7-25-25 and returned to the same store on 8-5-25, they have once again sent me mail saying we haven't paid for our rental in the amount of $689.33. This is probably a corporate issue because the mail is coming from Dallas Texas and we live and rented in Colorado. I would not recommend renting from any Hertz. They only take your money, than say that you haven't paid. First off thats impossible when the company has your cards on file. And second when I have proof in my bank statements that we have the exact amount charged that they said we never paid for. This company communication is the worst. Choose someone else! read more

Big Tip: This Hertz does the "We'll pick you up" think that Enterprise does. Yes, for free. This is a small rental place with only a few cars so it's not that well stocked and I imagine they run out of cars a lot, but when I needed one ASAP they were there, able to pick me up and they were all super friendly. The car was clean and new-ish and I didn't have any problems. The only negative was that I brought the car back 27 hours, later, not 26, and so they charged me a full day extra. Reading the bad reviews I'm honestly shocked. We had a much different experience than what others have stated in reviews. My husbands car was broken down due to a squirrel eating the wires (yes this a thing lol). We live in Broomfield, five minutes from Superior. Unfortunately our area was hit with the Marshall fire the same day his truck was damaged. Our insurance adjuster informed us that due to everything he has on his plate we wouldn't be able to get him out to assess the damage for over a week (which we completely understand). We are in need of a rental car and found that any and all Hertz and Enterprise locations in our area and down in Denver are out of cars due to the fire. We called this location and Anastasia the manager answered. She was very caring from the moment we told her our situation. She immediately reserved a car for us and helped our insurance rep right after we got off the phone. The next day we went to pick up the car and she had told her employees we would be coming in and had a car ready for us. There was not wait, we were literally in and our. Her employees were so sweet to my husband and I. They made the house drive down to Parker well worth it. When I say I called every location around I mean it, and Anastasia was the nicest and most professional person I spoke to. I highly recommend them and I wouldn't listen to disgruntled folks that don't realize how a National rental car shortage works, we have to be patient and understand that things aren't always the fault of the employees. read more

This was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. I rented a minivan from this location. The vehicle was scratched and dented which wasn't a concern to me. The bald tires became an issue when we ran into weather during the trip. The A/C not working - blowing hot air when it was 35 degrees out - became a huge issue while driving across Utah when it was 85 degrees. It was an easy bake oven on wheels. Quite literally the worst customer service we have ever experienced. I truly wish I could give this place zero stars. When we first rented a car from Hertz we made sure to show our AAA card for the discount, which is about a 15% discount. When we returned the car, we were not granted the discount and charged the full rate. It is unfortunate that they would say they would honor the AAA discount and then shadily charge full price. After this encounter we were told that we could do nothing about it. So, we had to call the headquarters. Again, there is nothing to be done. After spending nearly $2,000 at this location you would expect better customer service instead of dishonesty. The solution we were offered from headquarters was a gift certificate, WOO HOO - can't say that we will ever be using Hertz again after this. Incredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service. When speaking to a customer service agent, we asked for a manager and were told "the manager won't be able to do anything, anyways... so I don't see why you want to speak to a manager." UMM, that's not how this works. I am an active duty Navy sailor stationed in the Pentagon. Over the New Years holiday break I tried to pick up a rental car I'd reserved from this location but they refused to accept my South Dakota driver's license, saying it is expired although under South Dakota law it is not expired and remains valid. Our experience with renting from this location was great until we turned the vehicle in. We had originally rented a large Yukon when our truck was totaled. Our insurance allowed $50/day and we were told that the Yukon would be $50, not to exceed our daily allowance from State Farm. We were pleased and kept it for 10 days or so. At that time, it looked as if we would need the rental for much longer so we opted to trade the Yukon for something smaller and less expensive as to not use up the maximum allotted funds. Everything went fine. We ended up purchasing a new car and returned the vehicle at the end of the day, leaving the key in the drop box. I called first thing the next morning and was told that I had a $150 charge on my account because the Yukon had taxes that caused it to exceed the $50 limit from State Farm. I talked with the lady who stated she was a manager, and told her that we had never been told that the taxes would exceed the amount and that this issue was deceiving. She then said she would work on the issue and call me back. She called back a while later and said that they hadn't reduced the price on our contract when we switched to a smaller vehicle so she was able to refund that, but we would still owe $5/day for the Yukon. I again said that this is unacceptable and we would never have agreed to anything over $50 (the whole point of insurance is so you don't have to pay out of pocket for stuff like this, right?!?!) and that we were never told this. She said, "I find that hard to believe," and then rattled on about how her associates are trained to make sure they say these things and so on... At that point I had voiced my disappointment and she had defended their deceit enough. I hung up and resolved the issue with the corporate office, who stated they would refund the money completely. I then filed a formal complaint on that office, where they listened to my complaint and then said they would look into it further-literally with no information on me or the location... seemed like they have people there to listen and pretend like there's a quality assurance team, but really it's just there to appease disgruntled customers with no real solution. BEWARE!!!!! If I could give a negative star rating I would. I went online on Oct. 25th to reserve a luxury SUV for a one day trip on Oct. 31st. I choose the car, put all info in and all done I thought. No one had called me so I gave the Hertz Parker location a call to make sure the SUV would be there and no problems would arise. I spoke to Joyce who had no clue of my resveration. She gave me some story about switching screens to find my reservation. She then proceeded to tell me "yep everything is good, we will see you tomorrow". At 5:01pm I get a call from Micherke(the apparent manger there) and she tells me they do not have the car I reserved and I should of read small print and they feel a Ford Expedition is similar to a Rover/Infinity. I told them it is not and they are selling teaser rates luring a customer in when they are going on vacation and don't have time for finding another car. They said that is perfectly legal and fine that they do that. Joyce and Michelle were rude, unprofessional, uncaring, unknowledgeable, lying. I then said I would call corporate and Michelle hung up on me. She wouldn't give me her managers name and said a manager would call me, which no one to this moment has called me from Hertz about my experience. I then looked up their reviews, which match my experience exactly. Reviews state cars dirty, smell, old, scratched etc. Funny their corporate reviews are a one star also. Guess it comes down from above about how they run a business. I then went online put in a reservation at Enterprise in Parker. Had a call back within 30 minutes, had an Infiniti SUV for me that was brand new with 2,000 miles on it. Enterprise made our trip that Hertz ruined and shouldn't be in business. Long story short, we were overcharged two days for our rental car. Spoke with "Manager Bob" who said it was being processed, called back for follow up and now the guy is on vacation and NO ONE else can help me. Their mistake, not ours, and now 3 months later have yet to get our refund. Tried calling corporate, hung up on 3 times, total wait time of about 40 minutes on hold and still no resolution. I could not be more disappointed in the service I've received from your Parker, Co location. Aside from terrible service when I obtained my vehicle I received an unauthorized charge on my credit card and called 3 separate times to have to removed only to find it never taken care of. I was promised each time I would receive a call back to ensure the charge was removed and no surprise I never heard from a single representative. This place does nothing to take customer service serious and has made it to where I will never use hertz to obtain a rental card again. All I needed was a friendly smile, curtious service and accurate billing unfortunately none of those 3 were even attempted by your company. If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. We showed up for our reserved rental and they said we weren't in their system, but luckily had a car for us to rent. When he ran my husband's credit card he said the charges were declined, and we said try again, it's fine. Then he ran it again and said again it was declined and now we were locked out because of card being declined and needed to produce a new car. We pulled account up on Amex app, and low and behold two charges for $492 were pending on card. When we showed him that the charges were pending and that when we called Amex they showed charge approved and pending, he told us "that's your problem". Seriously???? At this point we were blocked from going to Enterprise, who we should have used in the first place because of almost $1000 used up on our spending limit!!! The office was dirty and disgusting with spiders and cobwebs and dead bugs all over. Car was dirty when he pulled it around. We ended up going back to enterprise who helped us out with a great car. Do NOT rent from this location! I called weeks in advance of my reservation to ask about a AAA discount (this is after calling 15+ times because no one ever picks up the phone). When someone did answer I was told adding additional drivers was no charge when you show a AAA card. When we showed up to pick up the car we were not greeted, we waited for at least 30 minutes to be helped, the lady who helped us (Joyce) acted like she didn't know what was going on and didn't speak more than 5 words to us the entire time. We started to add the additional drivers and she mentioned they would cost extra. I mentioned I was told over the phone that with AAA the additional drivers were free. She asked for my AAA card so I gave it to her and she proceeded to add the 2 additional drivers that we wanted to. Meanwhile, the entire time she was helping us the phone was just ringing and ringing and no one bothered to answer it. She had 3 handsets on the counter that she would look at and then set back down. When we returned the car the bill was over $100 more than expected. When I asked why I was told it was the 2 additional drivers we added. The manager (Anastasia) was the lady helping me so I explained the situation about being told they were free and showing my AAA card. She then told me it was my fault for not checking my credit card statement and calling them sooner to ask about it. Then she told me that every driver has to have AAA for it to be free. When I asked why we weren't told that upon pick-up and adding the drivers (when I had made it clear I was under the impression they would be free) she had nothing to say. After arguing she called her manager and they ended up taking one of the driver's off. I still wasn't happy about this and I let her know and her response was "you are lucky we are even taking one off". She told me if I had additional problems I could contact Corporate. Then, a couple weeks later, they charged an additional $400 to our credit card. When we called to dispute it, the angry, power hungry, and I can only assume LITTLE man was extremely rude and refused to believe his employee told us something completely different. This guy obviously takes his small and embarrassing power as a Hertz store manager way too seriously and would rather steal from customers than follow through on what they tell them. We got a downgraded car that we supposed to, and higher price, dirty car (smelled, a lot of animal hair, cause allergy, pieces of dog food in the trunk). Reserved an Intermediate level vehicle (Group C Toyota Corolla or similar), 33 MPG or better well in advance. When I arrived I was told that they only had an SUV available...take it or leave it. I needed a vehicle, hence the reservation, so I had no choice. At best it got about 24 MPG on the highway. Ended up paying way more in gas than I had planned (Drove about 2500 miles). Called their terrible customer service line and was told "Well, you got a better vehicle." Great! I could care less about the "better vehicle" I don't understand why I even bothered making a reservation. What is the point? Reading other reviews demonstrates that I'm not the only person this has happened to them at the Parker, CO Hertz. Not all Hertz are created equal as I rented from the Simi Valley, CA location and they were an A+. I Will not rent from Parker, CO Hertz again! I'm still waiting for a customer service follow-up.
