This was the absolute worst customer service I've experienced-ever! If you look at the screenshot of my reservation email, there is NO mention of hours closing at 12:00. I show up at 12:15 and they not only refuse to give me my rental (mind you I'm driving two families on a vacation to San Diego the next morning which is a Sunday and they are closed), they are SO RUDE! The manager comes out from behind and slams his hands on the counter all aggressively and yells "you people just show up Late and beg and wine and say this will be the last time please and it's too bad for you!" So many issues here. One - the lady at the desk was SO sneaky. She tried to "upsell us" on an insurance package and we declined so she said "Okay I'll just give you basic". And then asked us to sign a receipt without explaining the cost. My husband was about to sign for $450 before I stopped him and told her we had already pre-paid. She said oh that's for your insurance. I travel enough to know my insurance works just fine for my rentals, and she basically fought us on it. I'm not paying $450 EXTRA after I already paid for the car rental and she was hoping we just wouldn't notice. On top of that she told us we COULDN'T take a compact car into Sedona....... I promise you I've done it before and you absolutely can. She tried to charge us ANOTHER $500 to upgrade to a JEEP because "that's the best car for Sedona". She was relentless. It was painful and embarrassing for her. Fast forward, we drop the car off in PHOENIX and a few days later my husband gets a second charge for $490! We call and Hertz claims that we dropped the car off in MINNEAPOLIS?! We didn't even put enough miles on the car to possibly drop it off in Minneapolis. THANK GOD I took photos of the car at drop off with a tagged location and date so we could fight them on it. The rental process was a bit of a wait. I rented a Kia Soul for 2 weeks and had to take it in due to it being sold. I was unable to extend my rental causing my to have to start a different contract. I was willing to get a different car but then I was charge $120 and was not told what it was for and then after that happened I was told the car needed an oil change so I couldn't rent the new car out. I then picked out a 2nd vehicle and was told there was an increase from $328 to $360. I accepted the price increase but could not rent it out due to a random $120 fee being applied to my card. Uber Hertz 1211 w bell rd is showing get a second week free on the Uber app. Once here, they informed me that this second week free is only for first time renters. Josh has been very professional and helpful. All the management staff above him on chat and in office need to be fired. I have waiting over an hour to cancel the contract with the manager. Austin the manager, has sat next to Josh the whole time and said nothing and did nothing. Be careful doing business with these folks. read more

NO LIVE CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!! Be aware that if there's any issues or problems there is absolutely no way to reach a live person. I tried for hours different ways different numbers and all you get is automated lines that direct you to prerecorded questions and answers. If your issue does not fit their categories there's no way to get around it. The only way I got to a live person was pressing the option for emergency roadside assistance even though that's not what I needed they gave me a phone number for the local office where I read it told me to press 5 and someone would answer. Not true I tried for several hours know what answered the phone and when I went in person to the office they claved a problem with phone lines read more

I had the worst customer service experience ever. I booked a car for a 2-week period as a new Hertz Gold Plus Rewards active member. After being informed via text that they ran out of cars, I called corporate and spoke with DAWN. She assured me that the location would have inventory and would take care of me under the "Managers Choice or Suppliers Choice program." However, when my wife and I arrived at the location there were 50 plus cars in th lot, we were early ( by 1 minute /on time for our 12 noon pick up, we were told by who I believe to be the manager who ( had no name tag, and was street clothes, "I'm closed and I have no cars," despite there being hundreds of cars in the lot. The ( I think? ) manager showed zero apology and refused to even look at us. It was especially frustrating since he closed his computer down and turned off his lights right in front of us as if we weren't even there. My wife said let's just go before this becomes worst. To future customers: I strongly advise avoiding this place and the drama like the plague. Not worth supporting a business that mistreats customers. Save your time and your money and take your business elsewhere.. Reserved a vehicle 10.16 to drive to a funeral . confirmed reservation via automated text message 10.17 on 10.18 i called while enroute to pick up the vehicle only to be told my reservation could not be filled. the associate advised that i was sent communication. all i received is the aforementioned confirmation text. i asked to speak with the manager for a potential solution. Andrew the shift manager at the bell road location in phoenix within seconds of picking up that call was shouting over me as i was asking clarifying questions. In closing andrew screamed WE DONT HAVE ANY CARS BYE and hung up in my face. I never raised my voice nor did i have a terse tone. Andrew should not interact with your customers let alone be a manager. This is a review from 2022 which I forgot to upload: I rented a Tesla model 3 and had a reservation for 12p for a road trip for me and my late mother. When arrived I saw only 1 model 3 and watched another customer drive off in it. Once I got to the front of the line I Made a joke to the attendant that I just saw someone drive off in my car. They said they had a lot of reservations for that car but not to worry because my model 3 was in transit to the location and should be there in an hour. After waiting an hour I was told the car needed to go to the car wash and will be another 30 minutes. After 30 minutes they told me the car needed to be charged it would be another 30 minutes. Finally after two hours the car arrived it was a model y. So the customer who drove off earlier took my car despite my reservation for it. She then told me the airport has model 3s and to go there to get one. Next issue was when I couldn't leave the lot because the drive mod did not work. While in the trip the car started auto breaking to "ghost cars" in the desert. The system was faulty and could not be overridden. The car almost ended mine and my mother's life. Awful experience. Had to wait hours for no resolution or offer from Hertz. Never again. read more

Hertz/Uber placed me in an EV without having done 500 rides in a strange case of bait and switch. Then, when i did not complete 35 rides/deliveries they removed my autopay -- which is fine, because i have no problem going into the office to pay -- only they disabled my card??? I don't know what they're doing, but i called to extend the rental by phone and online, as well as spoke to them face to face at least ten times in 3 weeks, and they still would not switch me to a regular Hertz contract, nor take ANY MONEY. I even went today to close my contract and when they tried to process my card, the payment did NOT go through when i have plenty availability. I have never seen anything more perplexing. On the bright side, i got to drive an absolutely awesome Volvo Polestar 2 (which has FABULOUS handles, clean, sleek interior, and a real head turner) for free for three weeks. This is a documentation of the events that have occurred with Hertz on Bell Road in regards to reservation #188480294. On December 4th, 2024 I called into the Hertz line to let them know of my card being compromised with the contract I had on file and I needed to update the payment. I was told that payment could not be processed over the phone and that I would have to visit my uber location. I arrived on the same day to the Bell Road location, I spoke with a man with glasses and let him know that I was instructed to go to the location to update payment. I had my Uber card, another debit card, and a credit card (which I did not offer, knowing the policy). I was told I could not use the Uber card which I then ended up showing my second debit VISA card. I was told payment could not be processed on either and was confused on how the debit card could not be accepted. When I asked why, the rep just stated he could not process a payment. I was denied payment on the vehicle and was told to wait it out, knowing that it would be in the repossession department. So I was forced to wait even when I had payment. On December 12th, 2024 I received my new card that I was told I would have to wait for and the car had been repossessed. Although upset because I had already been ready to pay for the vehicle and the inconvenience of having to go back and forth due to the vehicle being seized, I arrived on sight at the Bell Road location. He stated he could not take my payment because it was seized. Aaron T was his name, another rep - was helpful from what I thought until I realized he provided me with the wrong information. He gave me a number to call that would accept my payment and he put into a new contract with a Red Tesla (more money) and processed the new contract with a new card, even after stating he could not take my payment and to go down to the PHX airport to make payment and drop off the keys so I would not receive a key fee. He never mentioned an admin fee nor it being a repo fee. He refused payment, this is the second time under the contract payment was refused. The bill owed at the time was $556 for two weeks and a new week would be attached at the end of the closeout since it did not make it a full 3 weeks. I called the number provided and was told that I would have to go in on Monday after everything is processed to gather my belongings and close out the contract. The rep stated I had to make the payment at the Bell Road branch and if they refuse to create a letter in the contact us section. I stalled because I did not want any retaliation from this branch as they did not answer the phone on Monday(12/16/24 or Tuesday 12/17/24) and never received a response. Monday I arrived at the airport location to drop off the keys and collect my belongings/ close out and pay. The kiosk did not know what to do and they did not understand why Bell Road also instructed me to pay/close out her as they could not do any payments. I was able to collect my belongings but was told to drop the keys off at Bell Road. Tuesday night I received a message from my bank about possible fraud because $1,602.00 dollars had been charged to my account. $535.00 for an admin fee (which they told me was a repo fee), $250.00 for a lost key (which was refused on both occasions) and 3 weeks of charges for the rental. The issue is not the 3 week rental charge - when I went to the Bell location on 12/18/2024 due to the charges I asked Aaron T, while Justin Dean (area manager) was visiting and listening to our conversation. I asked Aaron about the charges and he joked about a repo fee (which was never mentioned) but instead of understanding he could not answer how the card from the new contract was charged to the old contract if payment could have been taken from my original other debit card. Justin chimed in and when I explained more, he admitted that it was not okay for an authorization to go through but at first said it was the system. In the same conversation, he stated the system could not charge it because I would have to be in person using the card. Which is my main concern, if they were not able to take my card information over the phone to pay, and refused my other debit card for payment in person, how is it that they can take payment from another contract when I was trying to pay for it the entire time. When Justin stated it was a repo fee and tried to say how it could have been avoided on my end by paying, I let him know several times that I had different acceptable forms of payment and was refused in person each time. When I spoke to the rep over the phone after being denied help and told that because they did not accept my payment, the contract was overdue, and all the charges are accurate because overdue payment and a new contract was put in so the charges were then auto applied. My bank stated that was not an autocharge and was authorized via inputting visa debit card information into the system, verifying it as a fraudulent charge read more

ZERO STARS .worst possible place to do business with. You can call an authorize payments for rentals and then they will still take out the same payment on their own leaving you with no money. Then they will hold the money and return it whenever they please. this place is completely unprofessional. The workers are just about the most unprofessional people I've ever come into contact with. They literally are no help whatsoever and don't know a damn thing. If possible, I would love to get into contact with someone way higher up. Worst service ever. Don't ever rent a tesla from here. They over charge you. You will pay for the car every week and then once you return it they will randomly give you a bill talking about oh we forgot to charge you for the taxes. How do you forget to add on the taxes for 3 months. So now i have been charge $868.09 for taxes that i knew nothing about because they claimed they forgot to add them on there. They are extremely understaffed and don't ever think about calling them they never answer the phone ever. The tesla basically cost about $700-800 a week. With the insurance, charging, and (taxes) included. However they hide charges. How do you forget to include taxes for 3 months. Don't rent tesla or any car from here. This is perhaps the worst place I've ever rented a vehicle from. They gave me a sedan with the engine light on, and said "it will shut off in a few miles". Spoiler alert, it did not. I am on an extended rental and needed to speak to someone three times during the rental period to extend a few times. Literally couldn't reach anyone by phone EVER, despite multiple calls at different times of the day and on different days. It's like nobody actually works here. I've tried calling the last 9 days both for hertz car rental and the Uber side. Last week I called 3 times a day, this week I've called 20 times a day(I'm not even exaggerating) I actually think I've called more than 20 times a day. If you encounter any problems with your billing, good luck trying to get it resolved! You will be transferred from the branch, to the main customer service number, back to the branch, back to your financial institution. We had a billing error, and without notice they sent out account to collections. Hertz lied about my bank reversing the transaction, which they didn't. I called my bank and they had no record of this. My bank was willing to have a conference call with hertz, and good luck trying to get a supervisor. They will not call you back. I was told I could've returned it over the weekend holiday, but when I pointed out And I would've been charged until Monday anyway, she agreed. I recently rented a car from hertz rental bell road. My biggest complaint was when I rented the car I declined their service to refill the car with gas. I told the gentleman that I would fill it at the QT a block away prior to return and I did. Imagine when I get the detailed invoice when I was home that it was ticked as accepted! and I had a 54.54 charge for them to fill the tank. When it was full. And because I did not check the emailed receipt before I left the rental office when I picked up the car, there is no recourse. I admit the car was great, but the tire was soft within 24 hours of use. It's not like I drove very far the first day, just to the hotel and it was very difficult to find a gas station that had working air at night. I have wasted countless hours on the phone with them - their customer service team is a bunch of incompetent human beings who were unable to explain a charge I received - then telling me I was wrongfully charged (after i received a receipt explaining i owe $0.00) only to send me to collections and then after 6 months of calling for an explanation were able to tell me that I accidentally retuned the car to the incorrect Phoenix location.
