Before renting here I was a little worried seeing the bad reviews and people getting charged with extra cleaning fees but from my personal experience and also this being my first time renting, it was a overall great experience the desk clerk wish I caught her name was super nice and informative and respectful. The car itself was really nice! the clerk had to initially had to vacuum it out real quick but I got there early so I wasn't complaining, the car was nice and smelt nice and performed great, though it was a bit pricey granted I'm 22 and had a underage fee that added 150 dollars to the total charge, 586 in total plus paying for gas when using the car it wasn't bad. Overall maybe it had horrible management before but now I'd say this place is a great place to rent from and always seem to have vehicles at the ready. read more

I originally picked up my vehicle from the Federal Way location, but I had to return it to one closer to me so I returned it at this location and I have had the worst week and I was already crying when I got there and Inez, the manager, helped me return the ca and showed me the most kindness. Her customer service was top tier and that really stood out to me because I am going thru a hard time and every bit of kindness is seen and appreciated.. I appreciated her willingness to do anything to help me out. And for that I will definitely be coming back to hertz for my next rental. The rental was brand new when I received it. I called 3 times to try to reserve a car. I only got a message saying "We are closed for the day." So I called the national number and reserved a car. Later in the day, I drove to the office to get my car. NO CAR. And the lady at the counter was completely unconcerned and unapologetic. It didn't bother her at all that I was now stuck without a resource. It turned out that they weren't closed; they just weren't answering their phone . The entire experience was horrible. My car was in an accident, and I had a car reserved @ Hertz by my insurance company for I'll say two weeks in advance. I dropped my car off at the Body shop then went to pick-up my rental (because apparently 5 miles was out of their drop off zone) only to find out that they did not have anything for me! There was no communications that there was an issue securing my reservation what so ever! Not to mention this is happening on a Friday, and their office is closed on the weekends I could've very well been without car to get back and forth to work with. They could've cared less " maybe we'll have a drop off around 3pm", "Maybe" I called Enterprise and was greeted with overwhelmingly great customer service, secured a nice mid-sized SUV, and was on the road in less than an hour! My advice would be to stay away from Hertz, and Far Far away from the So. Hill Puyallup location! read more

Every day before my scheduled appointment I received email's from hertz reminding me of my appointment, Arrived at the scheduled time, after taking an Uber...was told,"sorry,we don't have any cars available "...was also told that they have a lot of problems with third party websites arranging rentals.This was not my case,I booked online with Hertz directly. I walked next door to Enterprise,they arranged a rental car from their Parkland location and took $40 dollars off my bill to help with my Uber costs, had to take another Uber to pick up the rental. I will never rent from this place again that's for sure. The one star is for the ladies in the office. They were nice BUT service was really really slow. I've never spent more than 10 minutes in a car rental place. After my husband put gas in the van the lady asked him if he wanted to go fill it up or charge him for the rest. Update: I gave it a 4 star before I found out they falsely, fraudulently charged me and my insurance company an extra day. I already picked p my vehicle on the 26th and they still charged me the 27th. Bad news! I don't play games who steal money from hard working people! Screw that! I spoke to John on 28th who said he couldn't do anything about it. He gave me # to call and they aren't open. I called my insurance company who also got scammed on extra charge by them. All parties knew my car was picked up. Worked with John. Why not a 5 star? Slight disorganization for small office. My insurance company told them a date n time, I did and so did car place. Then got it set up with the Car, and the next day John called back asking what type of vehicle when and gave me different pickup location. That bugged me as I'm thinking how hard is this supposed to be? Then Chuck picked me up on day at right place. Friendly. Got car then got told they charge a week upfront n then refund for difference. Be prepared. I was that I could drop it off at car shop. I took pic of my gas gave n return just to ensure I don't get overcharged. Horrible customer service. Kid was rude and obliviously had some big Hertz "meeting" to go to.. where I'm sure he was missing the discussion on how to be a polite human being. Hertz Gold Member allows you the rent a vehicle online and if you arrive at the lot and the car is not satisfactory you can upgrade at no additional cost. People pay to have this membership. Not at this location. I reserved a vehicle for my husband after a very stressful day of his vehicle breaking down at 3am on I5 and having to deal with it being towed back to our house all of which went unbelievably smooth until we arrived at Hertz. Pick up time scheduled for 4:30pm after he and I got off work. The website states they are open until 6pm or 7pm. I received a call at 4:00 to make sure I knew they had moved and that I had the correct address. I did have the correct address but thought it was nice that they called to make sure. The lady on the phone was very pleasant. We arrived and the place is empty..there are a few desks and some chairs and that's it..no pictures..no phones or computers. There is one tiny sign in the window referencing Hertz and that's it. I wasn't even sure if we are in the right place. We walk in and I said "Hi we rented a car?" to the young man sitting at an empty desk since he did not greet us..He stands up asks for my husbands ID and the hands him the keys. He doesn't go over anything just hands him the key and some paper. We ask which car is it in the parking lot...as he did not point it out or take us to it. It was like here are the keys now get out. I told my husband to go look at it to make sure he likes it as I wait inside because it's cold out .. and this kid tells me that he needs to lock up because he has a meeting. Come again?? Basically he doesn't care if we like it or if we have any questions because he's leaving. I had rented the vehicle online... as I've done in the past for my husband, but with the Gold Membership, if he doesn't like what I picked he can change. NOT at this location. It's not a true lot. They in fact had pre-checked us out already at the other location because this one did not have computers. WTF?? There was a pre-check feature online that offered a discount which I turned down and now these people pre-checked because they don't have a computer at this location and that some how is my problem? Very sketchy. What's the point in having Gold Membership? This guys response that we can exchange the vehicle in the "valley" that's where the lot is but it about 20 minutes away. And going through the programmed wording of how "this is the best vehicle for this class...yadda yadda". All very dry lacking any sincerity in a mocking tone. I don't like to dump on people when things are out of their control but this guy was making every effort to be a jerk about it. We received a phone call to make sure we knew where to pick up the vehicle so why no phone call to let us know that they have to pre-check us or that they see we are Gold and want to make us aware that there won't be any other cars available other than the one selected online. This is in no way close to how the Hertz in Tacoma operated. He said something about how this office is closed and how he waited for us. I told him that they probably shouldn't accept pickup times of 4:30pm if the office closes before that and maybe change the information on their site. I can't believe this kid and his mouth. He had a huge chip on his shoulder and was rude and could give two craps about us, what we thought or how we felt. We had inconvenienced him and he was making it very clear. I had a car reserved for a 10am pick up. When I arrived, they had 2 people ahead of me who were waiting for cars to be returned, and my car was in the same status. As the returning cars arrived, the solo employee checked the return in with the renter, then ran out to the car, gave it a quick wipe down, then handed the keys over to the next person. Wash, rinse, repeat. It ultimately took 1.5 hours for me to obtain my car for a week long rental. I do not believe a Hertz location should operate on that tight of an inventory and such limited staff. read more

The best experience I have ever had renting a car!!! While my van went in to have some work done, they were prompt with picking me and my child up where the van was being fixed. When we arrived at the facility we were treated so well! The gentleman (Stevey) went above and beyond to help us get into a rental. The only reason they get 2 stars is the car was decent that we were given to use, but the scam four days after the return of the vehicle where they claimed we broke a windshield and we didn't and they charged our credit car, to date 214.00. There are no inspection sheets when we picked up or returned the rental car as we were instructed to do all that at a third party. This is a SCAM!!!! I'll begin this by saying that the customer service guy at this (Puyallup) Hertz location worked quickly to help me resolve the issue below, and I truly appreciate it. So I rented a car from the SEATAC Hertz on 27 Aug, with a return to Puyallup Hertz on the 29th. The car was picked up and dropped off on time with a full tank of gas. Initially I saw the hold on my ACCT. After I turned it in the hold went away. Then over the course of the next four days Hertz put a hold for roughly $100 a day, totaling $400. When I called big Hertz to question what was going on. I was told that it would be a week before the rental would close out and the holds would go away. After a few days I checked again and the holds were gone, but Hertz had pulled over $550 from my ACCT. I called again to see what was going on. They claimed that I had not turned the car in until 5 SEP with an empty tank of gas. Hertz wanted two weeks to conduct an "investigation" and decide if they felt like refunding me. I called Puyallup Hertz, and the gentleman mention above immediately saw the error and submitted the paperwork to get the issue fixed. 48 hours go by and I called big Hertz to see what the progress was. The lady I spoke with was ridiculously rude. Her attitude was basically, "so what if we screwed up and charged you $550. We sent you an email, what more do you want?" Incidentally there was no email sent confirming the case file. Three separate requests for an email regarding the issue, and I got nothing. Even after they had all the paperwork they needed from the local office, they still dragged out the "investigation" for two weeks. So lets sum this up: Hertz lost their own car in their own parking lot. Charged me $550. Then acted like I was inconveniencing them when I called BS and made them fix it. They were incredibly quick to take money that wasn't theirs, and incredibly slow giving it back. And with the exception of the desk guy at Puyallup Hertz, were incredibly rude. Use Enterprise, they are a little more expensive, but they have their crap together. The extra money is definitely worth it. read more

Three days in a row trying to drop off my car for repair and they have given me the wrong car, not shown up at all, not called back, blamed other locations and then just had the audacity to call me back and tell me it was my fault. Absolute Crooks. Go elsewhere. Zero stars The experience was subpar, often nobody at the front counter, long holding periods over the phone, was in and out in an okay amount of time. Not where this review comes from. I was told by the person at the counter that my insurance was covering 80% of the charges. Was also asked if I wanted any protection covering the vehicle. I was lead to believe that any damages accumulated without the protection I would be personally liable for. Both statements were false. First insurance didn't cover any additional charges, which the protection was additional, I was covered by my own insurance for any damages to the vehicle, so any additional protections were unwarranted. I removed the protection as soon as I found this out. Upon disputing the charges,(with the "manager") being that I was falsely lead to believe these were coverages I needed, and was only going to be paying 20% of, the manager responded that I signed for the coverages which means I agreed to the terms, and that his associate would "never say anything like that", without any kind of inquiry or investigation into the situation whatsoever. Now not only am I stuck with 100% of an unnecessary charges,(which equate to over 50% of what insurance paid for) but on top of it, apparently I am a liar. Keep in mind, speaking to the "Manager" at this point. It was stated that it is illegal for them to state what kind of coverages that I have from the insurance company, which makes any lack of mention admissible. This makes sence and could be very well true, however, stating that the protection plan is an additional policy, would not be telling me what my coverages are, and paint a very clear picture to me that it would result in a out of pocket expense, nothing of the kind was painted in the picture. During our one sided conversation he claimed two times that "they were not here to mislead me in anyway" yet my claims at being mislead were imminently disregarded and terminated without any kind of investigation, how do you make that statement and not research claims negating your statement? Its very clear that the methodology here is "dont acknowledge any wrong doing, and nothing wrong was done". Its shady, terrible "customer service" and at the end of the day is robbing people of hard earned cash simply because theres a signature on the agreement, but no signature of what was verbalized by the associates. Furthermore upon asking for someone else to talk to better suited to help me with my issue, the "manager" claimed that I would have to contact the District Manager, and proceeded to supply me a phone number to a general customer service call center, with no venue to even contact the District Manager, giving me a final run around. I'm sure they had a good laugh about that in the office. Dont give these crooks your money. They dont deserve it. read more

It seems the people that had it returned it to the airport instead of the Puyallup location that I reserved it for. Instead of driving it to where we reserved it or even letting us drive to the airport to pick it up they just said oops you don't have a car. Really!? He even told me that they charged the other people a one way fee. You would think they would use some of that money to take the car where it was supposed to be but nope. He said he would try to find us something at another location and call me back but I never heard from him again. This is the second time I've rented from this specific location. I set it up online and am a semi-frequent renter lately. My personal vehicles were being shipped and since it was the middle of the day I had no way to get from Graham to their location. I asked if someone could pick me up. I expected to have to drive them back to their location and sign the paperwork. Nope, they showed up in the window of time I had asked for, he handed me my paperwork and the keys and said he had a ride back. The interaction took less than 30 seconds. I am super impressed. This followed a interaction with them a couple weeks ago that was almost as remakable. I've had nothing but good luck with them and other Hertz locations. After a while you start to think that it's not luck, and that they are just doing it right. Thank you Hertz. read more

I rented a car while my car was being repaired a block away. My Insurance Co. got me a good rate, and I told Hertz I would return the fuel tank full, which I did. They told me I could drop it off at the repair shop, so I did (around closing time). Big mistake! I called the next day to confirm they got the car and the rental price total, and they had charged me an additional $59 for gas (even though I filled the tank myself, and told them I would beforehand). They checked the records and realized that they had overcharged me. He sent in a request for a refund for that amount and said it might take a few weeks to process (Really?). Nearly a month later I call back because I still have not gotten a refund to my credit card, and he says it has to be approved by 3 levels of management and it may be a while. Are you kidding me? I hope everyone checks their bill when they return the car- this seems like a scam. Still waiting for a refund... 08/14/18 I called again- they say the refund may take 3 months!!! Had the displeasure of dealing with the Mgt of this Hertz location after the check engine light came on in a car I rented at a different Hertz location. After hours of runaround trying to get a safe running car I ended up at this location as they were the only ones with a car. The location had the odassity to state I cracked the window on the car with the check engine light in a vein attempt to capture a couple $ from me. The mgr was flat out rude and accusatory towards me even though I had spent HOURS attempting to limp the damagaed car in for a swap as Hertz was no help in working with me. When I asked them to point out the "damage" to me the struggled to find it but would not swap the car out without paying the damage fee. The mgr suggested I continue to drive the car with the check engine light on onto Bend in hopes they would not see the tiny window crack in order to avoid the damage fee. Really?!? I was rented a car with clear issues and the Mgt of this location told me my options were to pay for damages I didn't cause OR drive an unsafe car. Stay away! Take a bus, walk or hitchhike before renting from this shady location. read more

I have personally rented from and worked with the branch manager (Marina Higdon) at multiple locations and find her to be very professional and hard working. Any time a person is renting a car, things can become very stressful, but Ms. Higdon knows all there is to know about this business and absolutely does not deserve to be judged based on the way that she looks. Anyone who is trying to divert business based on anything other than the facts is ignorant and not to be paid attention to. If you truly feel as a customer that your business was not treated with the highest level of value and professionalism, it would be best to address your concerns with customer service departments rather than by seeking out to hurt a good person. read more

Horrible Customer Service. 1.Hertz Puyallup did NOT contact me before charging me out. 2.I spoke with an Aaron first to ask about why I was charged much more than originally thought. He was pleasant to deal with. He said that they had asked Abra what day I dropped the rental off. Abra had told them I dropped off on Saturday, when in fact I had dropped off Friday night. Aaron said that he would take care of this, but did not tell me how or when. That wasn't his fault, but mine for not asking. I also forgot to ask him about two pending charges I had for $29 each. I then called back to get a little more clarification after I had looked at my receipt online. 3.When calling back, I spoke with a Kacey to clarify the charges on my rental. Being in customer service myself, I cannot believe the gall this woman had to speak to me the way she did. When asking her to clarify that the refunding of one day and the $29 dollar charge pending were two different things. She started to get an attitude with and get defense about how she "was the only one to charge out the account and that there is $29 charges for the extra day of charging because the lady from Abra told her that the car was dropped off on Saturday instead of Friday." When trying to clarify that: A.) the charge of $175.76 was charged and posted on the 12th of March, and that this was for 6 days instead of 5. B.)There is a pending charge for $29 that is unexplained and I am looking for clarification on this. ; She started to get defensive and extremely rude with me. She didn't know what to tell me when trying to explain these TWO different things, and she was getting rude with ME please she wasn't making any sense. 4.I will now have to wait until the paperwork is processed (~15 days) before they cut me a check to return the money that they owe me for the day that I did not use. This is pretty much the only thing I know. I have to keep an eye out for the impending return of money that they wrongly charged me for, and to also watch to see if those $29 pending charges actually get posted. If either of these things goes awry, I will be contacting the appropriate contacts to remedy this situation, in hopes that the corporate level doesn't treat me in the same manner as Ms. Kacey has.
