Walking into a rental office was the last thing I wanted to do, but from the moment the process started, Anh made everything simple and seamless. She is a total sweetheart and was so empathetic to my situation. Not only did she make the rental process effortless, but she also went above and beyond by securing me a much better rate than I originally expected. She managed to get me a longer rental period for a smaller amount, which was a huge weight off my shoulders. Anh made me feel completely at ease. You never truly know what someone is going through, and her kindness made a world of difference to me. I had a problem that HERTZ and the HERTZ location where I rented couldn't resolve. HERTZ Sacramento took three days to respond I spent almost an hour on hold. Then I spoke to TYLER at the Roseville location and he was able to resolve it in minutes. HERTZ needs more people like Tyler and to better train the people in central answering. read more

Never showed up to pick me up, I as well as the body shop called them like 20 times. No phone call or anything and No answer. I waited for an hour. Then they didn't have the vehicle that I needed and had spoke to them about prior to booking, spoke to them Friday for a Monday reservation to make sure it was available. I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with this Hertz location. My scheduled return time was 12:00 PM on Saturday, which--unbeknownst to me--was also the exact time the location closed. I arrived just five minutes after noon to find the office already shut. Called the customer service number on the door and was told by the agent that l could "keep the rental until Monday without any additional charges" since they had closed before I arrived. Trusting that information, I returned on Monday afternoon to drop off the keys-only to be informed I'd be charged for a late return. At no point did anyone specify a required return time for Monday. If I had known there was a strict early morning cutoff, I ABSOLUTELY would've made the effort to return the car first thing, even though I chose a Saturday return in the first place to avoid weekday conflicts with work. According to Hertz's own website, *Returns less than 29 minutes late: No extra charges* which makes this situation even more frustrating. To top it off, the gas tank was only 31% full when I picked up the vehicle, but I still returned it with a full tank out of good faith. After going in person to reserve a SUV, they suggested we do so online. " it will be easier, and you can chooses the vehicle you want." We reserve, pay and make an appointment to pick up the vehicle this Saturday at noon. Thursday we receive a confirmation email about picking up the car on Saturday at noon. We arrive at 11:50, for our 12 o'clock appointment and the doors are locked and it's closed. We call Hertz and after talking to AI customer service, was transferred to a human to say that they must have closed early and they will return on Monday morning and we can pick up the car, then. Ummmmm, we have hotel reservations for Saturday and Sunday. What good does that do? The best they could do was just refund the money. NEVER, EVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. read more

I made a car rental reservation by phone and was given a quote of $67.99 with unlimited mileage, and $25 for basic insurance coverage. I called to confirm the address because there were 2 addresses for Hertz in Roseville, CA and I was told that the only car available was a Tesla and that it would cost me $10 for the upgrade. I ended up being charged $4.38 for mileage changes without explanation, $29.99 for basic insurance coverage (the quote was $25), $9.99 for premium road service that I did not accept because I already have excellent road assistance coverage, and an unknown amount for returning the car with a 70% charge (the car was 64% charged at pick-up), and $10 for an upgrade that was necessary due to the lack of any other car available. If I could leave a negative star review I would. A 1 star is too good for this location and employees. Their employee "Reggie" was the incompetent employee who was suppose to help me.. he took my credit card inserted it in the machine without my knowledge. Which then put a pending hold on my card. He than proceeds to tell me there is something wrong and asked to see if my bank has a charge from them. I showed them the pending charge and he said that's strange it's not showing anything on my side. He said he had to make a call to figure this out since the card was "charged" but didnt generate a contract. He disappeared in the back for a good 40 minutes mind you it is now getting close to their closing time, he re immersed from the back and tells me that he xant figure out what the problem is and that I have to come back in the morning. I was there to get a rental since I am from out of state. How the hell did he expect me to get back there in the morning much less leave that night without a CAR!!. I told him I wasn't leaving without my money returned or a car i didnt get either one. And now I am stranded in crappy hole Sacramento without transportation or Money .. I made a reservation for a sedan about 5 hours prior to arriving. The worker ran my reservation number and told me I wasn't in the system. She said this was due to the fact that they had no vehicles available and were all sold out for the day. I was really upset because I had a pickup time and car reserved so I could get my car into the mechanic. The worker blamed other cars for needing oil changes and maintenance... I told her the system is clearly to blame. How is nobody responsible for getting the reservations ready and confirmed???? Terrible business. Don't even bother booking a rental. I returned a car to this location. Despite filling it up with gas less than two miles from the location 5 minutes before dropping off, they charged me for an extra gallon of gas. I actually made sure that I added a little extra gas after the pump auto shutoff happened. The agent booked the car in as 100% full. I received the charge email and receipt on my phone when I was standing in the parking lot beside the car waiting for my wife to pick me up. No one took the car or added gas before I received the receipt. I asked Hertz customer service for a refund ($12.68/gal) but received a response telling me that they had to add 0.57 gallons of gas to fill the tank. I'm a Hertz gold customer (or was) read more

My family was planning a trip to Hawaii and was looking into a rental car through hertz as we have used them in the past. While looking into rates and reservations, we were charged thousands of dollars for a rental that did not exist. While trying to get a refund for this wrongful charge, hertz customer service was extremely unhelpful and refused to refund the large amount charged to our card regardless of the fact we never received a receipt, a reservation confirmation, and never had the car. Usually, going to pickup a rental car is not one of my favorite activities. This is a very convenient Hertz Local Edition that is located near the Roseville Automall. The nice thing is that it's not actually in the Automall but nearby. They have plenty of parking spaces here and they always have a good selection of cars. I just needed a car for a one day rental. Reggie took care of me and actually invited me in early as I go there before they were open. He was so friendly and gracious during our interaction. I was even able to pay extra and upgrade to a Tesla Model 3 for the day. Awesome upgrade. More about the Tesla later. After I got the card key for my rental Tesla, Reggie went over all of the functions, but because I have driven Teslas before, I didn't really need much of a walkthrough. Before I left though, Ahn came out to give me some more tips and some additional information. She was so very helpful, friendly, and genuinely cared about her customers, as I saw her interacting with a couple other customers. Both Reggie and Ahn are among the superstars that I have worked with at Hertz locations across the country. They are definitely awesome employees and this location is lucky to have them. Now, onto the Tesla. It was clean and actually came with a 110 charging cord and an adapter, in case you want to charge at a non-Tesla station. With the Tesla, you don't have to bring it back with a full charge. Just bring it back with about a 20% charge and you are good. You have to pay for charging of course. If you go to a Tesla Supercharging station, it will be pay-per-use, but you will be charged when you return the car. I have nothing negative to say about this rental experience and I hope to have the opportunity to rent from this location in the near future. read more

Rented a car for one day. Drove 1 hour headed up to visit family. Cars engine light came on and engine turned off. Had to pull over on the side of the freeway. Called the local office where I got the rental who was quick to refer me to the roadside assistance line. They could care less and said I would have to ask the local branch for a refund and have to go with the tow truck driver for an exchange. It took 2 hours before a tow truck company called me. Then took another hour to get me. Another hour to get back to Hertz. 4 hours waiting on the side of the freeway. Called next morning and they told me to call an 800 number for a refund. 800 number referred me to the website. Save your money and go with another rental company. Customer service is horrible and they don't care about their customers or seem to want to make it right. read more

I'm Hertz Presidents Circle level and rent from Hertz all over the country. It's surprising the the worst experience came the Hertz Office in my hometown of Roseville. I booked the afternoon before when I arrived I was told they didn't have a car in the class I ordered and was offered a Kia which was a downgrade. Because of my points level I told him I should be Upgraded to an SUV. He then said wait that Volvo sedan just came in you can have that. I told him that it would have to be gassed up and cleaned. At which point he said look a large sedan just arrived I'll get it ready for you. I told him I didn't have time to wait for them to cleanup and gas the car so I'll take the Kia he first offered since it should be ready. He then told me that none of their were ready and I could pick one and wait. At this point I had enough and told him to cancel my reservation and I left and made other arrangements. read more

I just returned a car for a single day rental and it has been a nightmare because of this specific location and they close when they don't feel like working and They will over charge your card for refueling/recharging and never answer the phone. The old guy checking in cars was beyond rude and this location has no sort of customer service. Good luck getting them to answer the Phone. Rented a vehicle from this location, didn't make it home and something on the undercarriage became dislodged, started making a horrible noise and it was returned. A new vehicle was obtained, same thing occurred the next morning. Not wanting a third rental, I declined further. Was charged a day of rental fees and when asked to waive them, as their cars failed, I was rudely told I didn't ask for charges to be waived and when I questioned the Hertz stance on their vehicles failure, the counter agent yelled, "I get it, I don't have time for this!" When I asked him not to yell at me, he said the same thing and looked like he was going yo come across the counter at me. His higher up came out and was much the same with an attitude, and said, "I don't have the bandwidth to sit here and go back and forth..." If you're looking to get a car from this location, don't. I had made reservations online and realized I had made a mistake afterward; however, I had prepared, so I did not want to cancel because it said it would charge me half the fee anyways, which ( ended but charging me so I should have canceled it. So I ended up getting to the rental office. The advisor was very friendly and had me set up another rental from the website, which I did to correct my mistake. I set it up total should have been $71.04 with my work discount, and somehow I got charged a total of $174.10 not sure how one day ends up being double the price of what it said I was supposed to pay--so I very disappointed with this process. The car was excellent, charming, and clean and drove so smoothly that I wish I could have kept it forever. Next time I rent, I have to make sure I do it correctly and pay attention to what they are placing on the contract compared to the price said in my email. read more

I returned the car they rented to me with a full the tank full of gas I bought at a gas station a few minutes from this Hertz. The Hertz employee went outside to inspect the car and came right back in. He did not move the car. He typed info into their computer and then thanked me for my business but offered no receipt. I asked him for one and left. After I got back to my neighboring state home, I read the receipt and saw that they charged me for 1/2 tank of gas at twice the going rate per gallon! I called them and was told I had to produce a receipt for the gas I bought. I didn't get one because I never though Hertz would do something like this. My car is in the shop and I had to get a rental when I called they had 2 options for me when I arrived 10 mins later the better option was reserved which could happen they put me in a Ford Fusion with Illinois plates the bumper is spot painted, and a gap between it and the headlight it runs extremely rough, I've literally been calling all week with no answer to the point it seemed my calls were being screened so I called right away off my daughters phone after 2 unanswered calls off my phone and sure enough the call was answered immediately. Then the man claimed he couldn't hear me as I could hear he set the phone down then claimed he had nothing for me which may of been true but regardless how are you renting out cars with issues? A dirty car was rented to me with a windshield littered with dried, smashed bugs. I had to use detergent and a sponge to remove them. Before returning the car, I filled its tank less than a mile away from their Roseville CA. return location. The employee at the Roseville Hertz got into the car and checked the gas gauge. He never moved the car. He came back inside. I watched him do all of this. He never said anything about it needing gas because it was full. I had just filled it. I was asked if I want a receipt. I said yes and got it before they tried to add any gas to the car. I didn't read the receipt until I was home, 185 miles later. They charged me $127.30 for 11.51 gallons of gas. They did this before ever trying to add any gas to the car. My receipt for the amount of gas I put in the car plus the amount of gas they claimed they put in the car far exceeded the gas tank's capacity. Now I have to send Hertz Corporate the receipt for the gas I filled the tank full with, in order to apply for a refund. Without a receipt, you don't get your money back. I have the receipt for the gas I put in the car, so I can prove that Roseville Hertz lied. NEVER, EVER rent a car from Hertz! read more

We decided to rent a car for our trip to SD, instead of putting mileage on our own cars, we decided our best bet would be to rent a car. After searching online for a rental car company, we decided to go with Hertz, the office was close to our home and they have unlimited mileage. We picked our car up on a Saturday and returned it on Friday. we rented a bright red Escort, lol! I was a bit skeptical at first, about renting as bright red car, the associate tried her hardest to make me choose a Prius but I went with what we reserved online. Luckily, I didn't get a damn speeding ticket driving this little ladybug! Phew! Our associate went over everything effortlessly and without question. We've rented cars before and was used to the usual spiel. Overall, come here if you are in the Placer County area to rent a car. Super convenient location with great employees. read more

The girl that I was talking got frustrated about me asking questions about my return so she just hangs up on me after telling me to let someone else deal with it. How rude!! I call back to try and get an answer and another guy answers the phone now. He is also extremely rude. He tells me that based on how many questions I have he can see why I got hung up on. I literally asked them maybe 3 questions. One of the questions I asked him was based on what the previous horrible employee told me. He then tells me everything she said was incorrect. If you want a "clean" car and upfront communication DO NOT rent here! They don't tell you up front but when you have another driver they will charge $13.99 each day. It's a ridiculous Hertz policy. I called to the manager, Tyler who said they just put this policy in place a couple months ago and he could not do anything about it. It's ridiculous and in a climate like today customer service and doing what is right and having integrity as a company is not the normal. It is worth it to pay a little more and go down the street. They ran this promotion online, which was amazing but after fees, and an additional charge for a driver to be added, it does not come out as a deal at all. Other rental companies allow an additional charger with no fee. As a consumer doing the right thing by adding a driver and letting her know add no value. It's disappointing to say the least. They were so awesome I just went back and rented car for my daughter. She called a competitor prior to renting from Hertz and was quoted $700-$800 for a rental x 1 week. I told her no way I'm calling Hertz and Even better experience this time, got bumped to upgrade at no extra cost, so daughter is cruising in style in her convertible Mustang!!! So I decided to rent a car for the weekend. There is no drop off service at this location, they have change their hours and corporate apparently is completely unaware of it so I got incorrect information twice. They are closed on Sunday so if you rent on the weekend and you probably should either be unemployed or have absolutely nothing to do than wait around for them to actually be there for your business. No drop off service no pick up service basically no customer service service. I have been at Enterprise customer for years and should've stayed with them. read more

Equally great guy who gave me a ride to and from the business. I'm in customer service myself so I fully understand the importance of presenting the best image possible to the customer along with good products at a fair pricing. This Hertz Local Edition does a really nice job and they are very good to me as a President's Circle member. They almost always have cars with a few days notice and they are very friendly within the office. I rent here almost weekly. They would get a 5 - stars rating if the cars were cleaner. Not sure why but "the car has not been cleaned" is a common thing I hear from them. For me, not a huge issue. read more
