This was the single worst car rental experience I have ever had, and I have rented quite a few in the past. Budget rented us an uncleaned SUV with an existing 6 inch crack in the windshield. Which they said was noted in the agreement and not to worry. After we turned the car back in, we told them they should not rent out this vehicle anymore because the crack was impeding on your vision while driving. Also, we found pills under the deck where the spare tire was. But we had a good vacation and just wanted to enjoy that feeling. Now, after a couple of weeks I receive a letter for $624.00 for glass repair to the windshield. Of course, I got the run arounds when calling Budget and trying to get to the bottom of this. The call agent (which came up as Airport Bangalore on my phone?), said there were no notes in the agreement stating any existing damage. So, who isn't telling the truth? Someone is lying. Plain and simple. I have proof it wasn't me. You all make your own decision on whether you want to rent from this place again. I know I most certainly won't! read more

Used this location for rentals when family or guests are visiting but now avoiding this location going forward. 1. Always check the car and note any small detail because we believe a chip was already there and they claimed otherwise. The car was only driven locally. 2. Discovered they don't clean the inside in-between rentals, as in don't even take out trash from previous people who used it. How did we find out? They claimed a windshield chip happened and said they check the cars when coming back but do NOT check inside after a return to explain why there was still trash inside the car before we rented it. We were in a hurry and didn't want to bother having to wait for them to clean it out and did it ourselves. We've always used this location and, typically, customer service was always at a minimum which we, unfortunately, attributed to the nature of how they managed their business. We are now using their competitor, Enterprise, down the road who has friendlier service and have since used twice since this incident with Avis. Net is that it goes to the credibility of this location's quality check and process consistency. read more

I recently had to rent two vehicles. One for two months while waiting for a back ordered part for one of my vehicles and then a couple weeks later I needed an additional rental car to have body work done on a different vehicle. The experience was so good then I opted to go there that second rental even though I would have to be reimbursed by my insurance instead of going to their preferred rental. Kyle, Elina and Nathan all made the process extremely easy. It is extremely convenient that they are open on weekends. All around great experience. read more

Line was very long at the San Jose airport. The employees had no sense of urgency. The customer service rep said either her or I needed to call customer service to change my drop-off location. I had to provide her with the location code which I said I'd deal with it later to not hold up the line further. People were waiting 45min plus. I will use National or Hertz next time that didn't have a line. read more

I need to update my review. It's 20 days later, today we received a bill from budget for $624 for a new windshield I see a pattern here with other reviews, where they are charging people after the fact. When we returned the car the manager went out to the car to inspect, we even mentioned the crack again how it was so irritating driving that way. He signed off the receipt gave us the total which was correct and we were on our way. He never mentioned anything about the crack or that we're going to get charged for it, how dare them charge the card after we walk away! Beware stay away from this place, they are thieves. I move them down to one star because I have to give them at least one star otherwise they would get zero. read more

Hi I rent cars frequently to travel to the Bay Area and back. I have been to the Avis in Rocklin (my least favorite customer service) & to Enterprise, Auburn, CA (always more expensive, also has really good service & i like the later hours). As far as customer appreciation, service, and just general all around good guy, Kyle is the best. He & Nathan are miles above the others. I don't care for the gals in the nearby Rocklin location. The selection of vehicles is limited, Kia's mostly. Never have anything for the upgrade promos, & I'm always disappointed! Kyle almost always will say what he has available to choose from, gets paperwork completed fast, seems like a super sweet guy. He's really the difference for me & why I choose to spend my money in this Avis location. Thanks guys!! read more

Good service. We rented a car to drive up to Washington state since the rental rates were so good (due to covid I believe). We were in and out pretty quickly. The car was clean, although during the covid deep cleaning I did before we left I found some food wrappers under seats and in the seat back pockets. It smelled a little like weed when I first got in, but after wiping down all surfaces with antibacterial wipes it went away. Returning the car was also easy and quick. read more

When I returned the car I had a dispute about being over-charged. They did not want to fix it. Told me I had to call billing. The employee was very rude. The owner is who overcharged us and was now on vacation. After dispute they checked the car in, which now was 30 minutes late, even though I was there on time they charged me $30.00 extra for late drop-off. They gave me a dirty car , did not do an inspection, so I did one before leaving and made sure damage had already been documented prior to leaving to read more

I needed a rental for work in the area, and since Enterprise isn't open on Sundays, I'm glad I ended up at Avis. The amount of people that were at this location on the Sunday I stopped by was crazy. There was an endless stream of customers looking to rent a car, and even with others stopping by to return vehicles, they were off the lot again in a matter of minutes. I, and nearly everyone else in line, was interested in an "Intermediate" size vehicle (basically a Chevy Cruze or similar). By the time it was my turn, I was told no vehicles in that class were available. As long as I wasn't getting a compact vehicle, I didn't mind; I just needed a ride for the week. I didn't catch his name, but shoutout to the guy with orange-ish/brown hair with square glasses who upgraded me from a Chevy Cruze-like vehicle to a...(wait for it...) ...a badass, bright red, Ford Mustang GT--yes, the 5.0L V8!! He didn't have much of a choice (or maybe he did, but gave me the V8). Man, that was a fun ride; fast, loud, and one sexy car. There were no issues with the vehicle whatsoever. That guy was easy to talk to, while the entire process was straightforward; there was no BS. I returned the keys with a full tank in the vehicle and went along my way. We rented a car in Roseville off Douglas. After we were three hours into our destination, we could not get into our car or drive it, because the one key fob they gave us had a dead battery. We were nowhere near a place that could provide help as we were along the coast. A stranger gave us a ride 20 min away and we were able to get a battery. This business makes no effort to apologize or accommodate customers. Truly disappointing as the company I work for uses this rental car company. I will no longer do business with Avis because they did not rectify the issue at all. read more

Used to use this place exclusively. Never going here again. Dishonest people constantly trying to get one over on you. First strike, they tried to charge me 150 bucks for an extra fuel surcharge even though the tank was full once. Noticed it and they reversed it without incident. This time, one of their employees quoted me 60 dollars a day, then snuck 75.99 a day into the contract instead. Was told by the snotty 20 something year old girl who works there that I "should have checked the contract". I don't do business with people who bait and switch and then tell me I should have been more observant of their deceptive practices. Don't give these clowns your money unless you like having your head on a swivel so you don't get ripped off. read more

Got my reservation than found out that I didn't need my rental car after all. I called to cancel. Someone answered right away! Very nice and helpful! Rent somewhere else. I noticed the charge on my credit card was higher than the receipt I was given. Rewinding back we return the vehicle. The manager takes the keys and goes out to check the car. Comes back and hands us the receipt. Now if this closes the transaction I assume the amount on the receipt will be the same as the amount on my card. I call back asking why there is a $150 increase on my card and was told it was a smoking fee. So why wasn't I told about this after you checked the car?? No one smoked in the car. Perhaps CA fire smoke got in, but none of us have a smoking history. I ended up having to reach out to Avis corporate for a refund of that bs charge on my card. Thankfully it was granted. Makes me wonder if others get that smoking fee with the hopes that customers miss it. The vehicle was also not cleaned very well upon pickup either. Rent somewhere else. Even if it costs a little more its better for your blood pressure to do business elsewhere. read more

1st off we didn't do a walk thru to document any damage. 2nd, they didn't ask to see my husband's license. 3rd, they didn't ask to see our proof of insurance. 4th, I told the guy waiting on us that I didn't want to use my credit card for any charges and he told me the whole bill was taken care of by my vacation package. When we returned he said everything was taken care of and have a nice day. A couple of days later I was checking my credit card and found charges from them. I had told him I didn't want to use my credit card that if there were charges of any kind I'd pay cash. That really pissed me off. That shows they weren't listening to me and don't care about their customers. 5th, they gave me a car with expired license tags and I couldn't get a hold of anyone to help me with that. read more

I reserved a car online. 1st they tried to get my ssn. When I said no way yhey said I caint pay till I give it. Then I said my card will work with out it... go figure it worked with out a ssn. Then they over charged by 230 dollars. The reservation was $411 then they charged $ 816 before we even left the building. They didn't fix it at all just said you get two free days next time you rent. Then got a car for the suv we ordered. It smelled like weed so we said no we want a diffrent car and got a suv we paid for. The customer service is top notch Saeed and his staff go out of their way for customers. I wouldn't rent from any other company in the area even to save money. i waited a day to write this review. THATS how angry i was. where do i start. i drive a hyundai, and i was having warantee work done at roseville hyundai that was going to last overnight- as per the warantee a rental was provided for however enterprise rent a car wasn't able to rent to me at that time (perhaps they didn't have any in the category stipulated) so i walked back to roseville hyundai and they said "well let's find another rental agency in roseville then" so we did. i took their shuttle to avis. waited in line for half an hour (yes, half an hour. they're always stacked up for various reasons that will follow) and got a white nissan sentra to rent. they needed a credit card on file in case anything happens which i thought was understandable. i brought the car back in less than 24 hours. a week later, i found a charge for $84.## on my visa. i said "hmmm" and called them. i said that i had given them the PO# that signifies roseville hyundais account for payment. but the truth is, i'm going to make this briefer than it could be- the guys behind the counter didn't and still don't know the system/how to work their computers. and didn't know how to do anything but run MY card and bill it. i called back a second time AFTER being told VERBATIM "oh we'll be in touch with corporate and it takes several days for things to shoot back on your card". ok. well. 8 days later nothing had happened. i called again, still being nice. and was told "roseville hyundai said they were going to send you a check". yesterday, i went to roseville hyundai again for maintenance of a different sort- and mentioned it to them. they squinted and said "huh? that's not something we would do" and we all stood there with a look on our faces like something was fishy. i went back to avis again, this time pretty mad. they told me there was nothing they could do more than 48 hours after a rental. THING IS. you could have done it right. but u didn't know how. when i rented the car, the person RINGING me up could have known what he was doing, but he didn't. meanwhile i'm standing in line for another half an hour watching one manager, who seems competent, stand at a register/computer with another younger guy continually saying "do you know how to do this?". these guys were incompetent with their pos's, and they lied to cover it up. plain and simple. rent from enterprise if at all possible. this was hands down one of the WORST customer service experiences i've EVER had in the united states. to the point where i just laugh out of disgust these guys don't even know the systems theyre working with. and once it's done, it's done unless u want to get tied up with corporate forever which is something i might do i might not. but i'm really disgusted and am not going to let it go. read more

I'm quite surprised by the other poor reviews for this Avis. I have rented vehicles from them a number of times and always received great customer service. The vehicles are just as you would expect from Avis also - good variety and always clean. On this visit, I especially appreciate that Saeed met my needs for providing an all wheel drive vehicle - even for a last minute reservation. On a final note, I find the location to be convenient as it is located in the parking lot of the Galleria shopping mall. read more

So....we were moving to San Francisco. We wanted to sell our car at the Roseville Carmax and rent a car to drive into SF. Carmax had originally told us that the Enterprise near them did rentals, but when it came down to it, the Enterprise agency refused to let us have a car to drop off in SF. They said that it would be out of their district. I am surprised they do not have a system to recover dropped cars, since I actually had an aunt who worked as a car recovery person. I've done one way rentals before and never had an issue--I usually just pay an extra fee. Anyway, there we are, stranded in Roseville, trying to figure out how we can get a car to drive to SF in, and we end up at the Avis. The lady there let us have a car last minute, and while she apologised for the state of the car, saying that it hadn't been cleaned since the last customer, the car was tidy and clean. When we got to San Francisco, all we had to do was unload our belongings at the hotel and drop the car off at SFO, and BART back to the city. Everything was simple and swiftly expedited for us. Pros: Location is amazing. I do not have a car & live within walking distance to this place, it is so convenient. Jeremy is friendly! He helped us when we picked the car up & returned it. He maintained his friendliness even after my sass. I called him 3x's prior to picking up my car asking the same question because I wanted to be sure & he was friendly every time. Had the option to choose our car! Only 2 choices at the time, a focus or a VW beetle but still! Cons: It took about 15 mins to leave with the car VS. 5 mins at Enterprise with nobody in line ahead of us We got the focus, the floor mats were dirty, the dash was dirty (apparently because he drove it around the back & brought it back 2 minutes later) but the gas mileage on this car is amazing. Easy to be charged extras when the car is returned, we were charged $13 extra because we drove it less then 75 miles but if u put gas in it before returning, which we did, that charge shouldn't be there...but of course Jeremy was able to remove the unnecessary charge. It was an overall good experience & we will use this Avis again :) read more
