Nonsense. The address on Yelp and Hertz site is inaccurate. They've moved a couple blocks north, out of North Park Lincoln. That was the first hassle. Booked a mid-size rental through Hertz site. When I arrived all they had available were electric SUVs. Based on my destination, an electrical vehicle would not work. They were unwilling to move to my reservation to another location. The clerk said I'd have to call other locations to see if they would accept rsvp and if they had car type. As a result of the hassle, I left empty handed and wasted 45 minutes of my day. read more

Hertz was not prepared for a Saturday car rental rush. The saving grace that made the three stars happen was because of the excellent customer service provided by Gage. Gage had a beautiful attitude the whole time and was very helpful. Hertz felt it necessary to only have one employee all day for a busy Saturday. That was unacceptable and I felt for Gage. I made a reservation to get my rental car for 10:30 am.I got to Hertz a few minutes early. The waiting room was filled with people waiting to get service. I finally got my rental car at about 2pm. It took more than three hours to get my rental car. If it wasn't for the amazing attitude and the excellent customer service from Gage,I would have given Hertz only one star. Hertz? Hurts is more accurate. I returned my car to a location a mile from the one on my reservation by mistake. Both were listed as airport locations. I went inside to speak to the attendant when I retuned the car thinking everything was fine. They billed my card over $600 in addition to the prepaid amount. He easily could have told me, but instead he billed me over 2.5x the amount I agreed to with no notification or consent - just took the money out of my pocket. They never answer the phone. My friend needed a rental vehicle through his insurance and this location was the only one we could go to. It took them 4 days to even provide a vehicle because they didn't have any. Then after 4 days, the rental vehicle stopped working and had to be towed. My friend was stranded because they didn't answer the phone. Now he has no way to get to work. I've never experienced something like this. read more

My experience at Hertz Lincoln Northpark was great! I needed a rental while my car was being repaired from an accident. Rene was awesome! He is a great multitasker. He made sure I got the best rate to stay within my insurance coverage. That day he was also training a new employee and he was still very attentive to taking care of my needs. I was in my rental within minutes and I am very appreciative for that. I called a day before returning the rental and Hunter was also very helpful in giving me the hours of operation and instructions on what to do when returning the rental. When I return the rental LaMarcus was super friendly and proficient as well! He answered all my question and gave me all my paperwork I needed to submit to my insurance. I think highly of this Hertz location and will most definitely use anytime I need a rental! Keep up the good work guys!! read more

WOW! Just left Hertz feeling like a fool who should have never trusted Hertz in the first place. I've used Hertz in the past, but it's obvious now that management has changed and the inmates are now running the asylum. On August 29th, I came in and rented a vehicle in-store after I experienced glitches on the website using my laptop/phone & even tried the app. I came in and avoided the in-store fees because of the glitch on their end. I started off with 2 weeks as my vehicle is in the shop and there was no telling how long it would be in there for. I was told I could easily extend my reservation eonline to which I did for 2 more weeks until I tried to extend a final week totaling 5 weeks, but received a system error. I called the store and spoke with Angel, who I was familiar with as her voice is distinctive and one of which I had spoken with when calling Hertz. She attempted to extend my rental only to find out she also was unable to-she instructed me to bring in my vehicle asap or I would risk getting my rental towed and would incur towing charges. She proceeded with reassurance she would help me in-store and figure out this issue. I drove over immediately on a work break to find Hertz was swamped with customers. When I finally got to Angel, she greeted me with compliments and a whole lot of distraction. Distraction from what I would 20 minutes after leaving would find to be a "late fee" of $12, a "return change fee" of $10 (this is if you return to a different Hertz or change out vehicles, which she kept me in the same vehicle) These fees were on my closed out reservation. Then on my new reservation, an additional $10/day from $25-$35 for my extended days on my new reservation along with a "Concession Fee" of $16 (a by the airport fee), "customer Fac Chr" of $20.49 for coming into the store for help instead of booking online which I could not help, "premium roadside svc" of $40 that they said is actually a discount bc without it, my bill would skyrocket to $1,000 which doesn't make sense. These are all charges I did not have on my previous reservation. I called the store immediately and first spoke with Gage who said he'd get the fees taken care of by GM and call me back. Then I called again and spoke with Angel who told me if I didn't like the bill, I could back in and return the vehicle before closing or wait to speak to Gage on Monday, the next time he is in. I decided to wait until today, Monday. No Gage in office, only Angel & Vince. When I brought this to the "Manager" Vince's attention, he said I was supposed to be charged on the first reservation and that whoever charged me had hooked me up. I told him it was Tarique, the branch manager, who had given me his business card. He told me Tarique got fired for doing shady things and that he was in the wrong. Vince was presumptuous and unable to provide a business card, which made me doubt he was a manager...he couldn't provide the GM's info or any info other than that the branch manager was fired and that he had taken his place. He advised I call customer service and then proceeded to threaten to call security only bc I was adamant about how I should be given the GM's contact info. I was allotted a rental car while my vehicle was in the shop for a warranty repair. The shop representative provided the Hertz location with the paperwork. I don't remember on what day, but hertz began calling asking for the rental to be returned. The shop coordinated with the Hertz location on multiple occasions, but the recording continued to be received. Once the rental was returned, I was invoiced approximately $1800.00. The warranty pays for the rental. I notified the shop, who was working with Hertz on the billing error. I didn't hear back from Hertz or receive an email. I called and spoke with the Hertz Manager,Jon. He kept talking over me during my conversation with... "ok..." "ok uh hmm..." every few seconds as I was speaking. It was impossible for him to give an "ok" without my sentence or thought being complete. I asked if he was ok, thinking a disability may be applicable. He said he was fine. I continued my explain the situation, and he continued the same behavior. I explained the behavior is not becoming of what I've experienced over the last 10 years at that location. I asked to speak with a manager, and he informed that he is the location manager. I explained that his location charged me Approx $1800, and then another charge of approx $300. Those charges depleted my account and have left me with a negative balance. Other bills went thru and NSF fees were being received per bill. I further explains that I still need to buy food and other items for my family for Easter. He's response was poor and didn't care about what was happening. I explained that now I'll need to borrow money from friends and family and it will be extremely embarrassing. He didn't care. He responded with "ok". He then informed that they had notified the area/regional/zone manager Thursday. I forget the proper title given, but that the person had not responded to him and that there was no way to give any refund. So, I had to borrow money to pay for food, and other items needs for easter, but I also had to explain the situation to my family as to why I didn't have money. It was extremely embarrassing and left us without money. While Jon ,the local manager, and the other manager he spoke of enjoyed their easter, I was trying to find ways to get money to meet my commitments. This was a terrible experience all around. The manager response was extremely poor. I would like the recording of the call to be listened to by upper management, so they know how this Hertz location is treating customers. read more

Hertz is the absolute worst rental company ever!! I have always used Enterprise for all my rental needs but was forced to use Hertz because that's who State Farm prefers!? Welp this will be the last time I ever use Hertz I'd rather just not get a rental if hertz is my only option! So the day my vehicle was ready from the body shop I returned the rental on July 30 to the shop like I was instructed. On August 10th (4 days before my birthday yay happy bday to me) $350.53 was withdrawn out of my checking account?!? WTH?!? I called the local branch that my rental went through and spoke to the branch manager Rene Garcia who after reviewing my account apologized and said they accidentally charged me for another customers fees?! Are you serious.... I explained that I have been on furlough for 5 months and I don't have money just chillen in my account and that his transaction put my account negative and now I have over draft fees. Then additional overdraft fees for every transaction that I knew about and budgeted for after they removed my money. Okay I can fix this and get it under control The branch manager called me back on the 12th and said everything had been approved for a refund and I should see a credit to my account in 7-10 business days. Okay I can deal with this... August 26th exactly 10 business Still no refund so I call to inquire and am assured it's coming but now it's 7-14 business days?! Alright I told him I would call back on Tuesday September 1st that's 14 business days. You guessed it still no refund?!?! So I called back and this time asked to speak to someone else because 14 days for a refund is already extensive, typically it's 3-5 business days (I've processed a lot of refunds in my day) but I was gonna let them have that. So I reach out to the General Manager Mike Morales and he takes my info and says he's gonna look into it and call me back at the latest the next day, sept 2. Go figure I never received a call back from the GM instead I got a VM from the branch manager stating my refund got approved (AGAIN????? WTF) and I should see my money next Thursday September 10th?? You have got to be kidding me 30 days from the original transaction where you took my money, money I didn't have, money that was not owed to you and I am still trying to get my account out of a negative status, been one giant snowball effect since August 10th. Not only am I now furious I am especially annoyed that the GM didn't think I was worthy enough for a personal call back from him. I get it my problems that your company created are not your problems and I should just go F myself, I mean that's how you wanted me to feel right? Why else would someone not do as they said and not handle the situation themselves after it was brought to you, I clearly came to you because I was not satisfied by how things have been handled this far. I have zero expectations from hearing from anyone after reading through reviews on Facebook, Yelp Inc, Google ect. terrible service and inaccurate/over billing practices seems the norm. I made an inquiry into the charge turns out they OVERCHARGED me 16 days stating I had returned the rental on the 30th when I had gotten a new car on the 15th!! Ridiculous!!! Went in to get a rental car for a quick trip to the coast with my family for a two day wedding. Didn't really know what car would fit us so I went in and asked Kirshina for the rates she went out of her way to explain the costs and approximate the size of the car even bringing several cars out for me to look at to make sure they would work. And when I decided on the Corolla she linked my phone and had it washed for me. I will now make this hertz my go to rental company thanks to Kirshina, she made the whole experience excellent. Never rent here (this Hertz location is in Lincoln Park car sales and service ctr). Unless you like being heavily overcharged. How about this: the agreed-to charge for a 1 day plus 4 hour rental was $56. Not bad compared to everyone else around. When I saw my emailed receipt it was $124 - more than double. This Hertz location charged me for bringing the car back "late" DESPITE the previously agreed extra 4 hours. AND charged me an extra day ( can't have it both ways, right?). When we arrived to pick up the car, the representative at the counter said he could not fulfill our reservation because the name credit card used to pre-pay for the reservation was different than the name on the actual reservation (even though we are married). He offered ZERO help to rectify the situation as our only option was to cancel the reservation and open a new one but he could not cancel the reservation, it had to be done with corporate over the phone. After almost an hour on the phone, I think I will be getting a full refund, but it was so hard to get a straight answer out of the rep on the phone, I'm not 100% sure. They said I will get "a refund" in 7-10 business days and they processed paperwork to waive the cancellation fee, but it was very unclear.
