TERRIBLE experience!!! I had reserved a car for today and when I got there, they said they didn't have any more cars. There was no phone call, no text, and no email alerting me that I was not going to have a car to rent so that I could have looked elsewhere! Do not rent from the Hertz on Goodman Rd in Southaven MS location. The Hertz workers are lazy, unhelpful and immature. When setting up the reservation, I stood there waiting for 20 minutes while there were three people (including the manager) laughing it up and carrying on in the office. They forced me to give them credit card information, even though I was not picking up the vehicle. When I returned a week later to cancel the reservation because considering the astronomical cost of the rental, I did not trust that Hertz would provide a vehicle that had been serviced properly. The rental location claimed that they could not cancel the reservation; said I would have to do it myself online. When I requested the manager the agent said she would not get them and would not help any further. Trying to cancel the reservation was a nightmare getting past AI and customer service people who did not know what they were doing. read more

If you ever need to rent a vehicle do not go to Hertz on Goodman Rd Southaven, MS. The service is hit or miss and the communication is ghetto hood damaged. I didn't get far in this rental. As matter of fact to the middle of the road before the engine locked up and wouldn't do anything. And they want to blame me for the malfunctioning of this vehicle. The lady at the desk refused to speak with me because my husband rented the vehicle for me, as an authorized driver. I am disgusted that I can't get any help with this vehicle from Heltz Rental. We showed up to pick up our car we reserved months in advanced. First off, the employee was 10 minutes late opening. Then they tell us there's no cars available and they don't know if they will get any in. I'm sorry, what?? The whole point in RESERVING a car is to make sure one is available when you need it. Don't even go with Hertz in general. We rushed over to another Hertz in Memphis and their system was down. Poor company all together. We went through a travel agent for this reservation. by far the worst company iv ever had to deal with in my life!! sense they don't tell you this before "if you pay for the gas that's in it and return it with more gas or the same exact gas they will not return your money for paying for the gas upfront" not sure why they have phone numbers because you have to listen to a bunch of options before it lets you speak with a representative. so many it took me a few try's because I lost patience which I don't normally do. the people at the counter were rude and you could tell they hated doing any work. If I can give them a big fat ZERO i would. One of the worst Hertz ever. Natasha and Sherry (not sure on spelling) are terrible employees and Hertz should be ashamed to have them representing them. I see the reviews are not good but due to me having to have service on my vehicle they were convenient. After the rental, we always receive a survey. I filled out the survey honestly like always. Their attitude here is bad. They are unprofessional, sitting on counter talking loudly about personal business, rude in tone, wasn't welcoming at all. Didn't thank me for being a Presidential customer or for visiting. All of this was put on that survey. So today (August 19th) I reserved a car because of a last minute issue and they are 5 minutes from home. I walk in, same attitude but i hand Sherry my license. She looked at the name and said "so you had a problem the last time you were here", with a smart attitude, as if to say why are you back. I told her to give me my license. I told them they have bad terrible attitudes, and I left. I told her I'm not renting nothing from them. I call the Presidential customer service, spoke with Tony to cancel and advise him of the issue. I will continue to go all the way to the Airport. 3:35pm January 2, 2023 - The lady made us wait 45 minutes outside the Southaven location during business hours because she needed a "break." She watched from the glass frontage while we stood in the cold for 45 minutes. And a horrible practice to give cars to customers with anything but a full tank of gas. They want it at the same level when you return, and don't credit you if it's more. Enjoy your extra gas! It cheats the customer. read more

Rental car (actually 2020 cargo van) was very reasonable priced ($129/ week) but was dirty and many dents.. Van ran good. Gas efficiency was 12 mpg.... ok for short trips... Be sure to check out all the information on the contract BEFORE you sign... most was filled out by the employee and was incorrect.... luckily I took my own pictures of the damage (something I recommend) so I was ok... read more

I had received this confirmation for a rental. I took a $125 Uber to Memphis to pick up the car. I was told there was no car available. I asked for suggestions; shrugged shoulders. Talked to the desk person, the senior person, and the Manager; offered no help other than "this happens all of the time!" Talk about poor service! This is the definition of it for sure! read more

Made reservation Wednesday to pick up Friday. Showed up to the location ready to grab my rental, and was told there are no available vehicles for me to use. No effort made to find a solution to my problem. Was told to call other locations and look for "other options" the same day im supposed to leave for my trip. Was not called the morning of my appt to be informed of this situation, wasted gas getting there and wasted money on an Uber home. I would highly recommend NOT booking through their website. Hertz shouldn't accept reservations without inventory available. They even made me cancel my own reservation - saying they were unable to do so at the same counter they told me they had no vehicles from. If this is the type of business practice we get from Hertz here in Southaven we should be calling to have this specific location shutdown. DO NOT BOOK A CAR HERE. read more

I do have to agree, this is the worst place you can reserve car, customer services is a joke, the cars they have is very cheap, no compact cars just small cheap cars. Reservation doesn't mean anything to them, if you reserved a certain type of car, they will give you anything, the cars they have there is a low budget cars with a small amount of space. Even those they mess up on there end they want honor a discount nor they would say that they are sorry, very unprofessional. read more

Experience terrible customer service. Had a reservation set for the same day with a debit card. They charged my card then told me I couldn't get the rental until a day after the fact. I missed work and a funeral. Did they try and accommodate me in anyway? No! I say in there office for an hour where other people where experiencing similar things that I have. read more

This place is the worst. Twice now we have had a reservation and we get there and it's overbooked. The people working there are absolutely terrible and should be fired. They are so unhelpful and even though they messed up on their end they will not even try to help you in any way, just tell you to go somewhere else. read more

This place has the worst costumer service ever. I had a reservation that I made online the day before. Once I got there I was told since I didn't get there at the time as stated on the reservation that I would not be able to pick up the car, which was only two hours difference. That was after waiting on two customers that took over 45 minutes to get them processed. They said they had too many car with maintenance issues. I will never rent a car from hertz ever again. What I don't understand is how can their system allow you to make a reservation and the store honor it. read more

My rental was through my insurance company and they handle everything for me. I went to pick up my car and had several luxury cars to choose from. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The car was nice and clean. I call them because I wanted another car and they called me when they got more cars in to trade with no problem at all. Thank you Hertz!! read more

We have rented from this location several times, for both business and personal use. Generally we rent 8-10 times a year. For the past holiday we had a reservation for a full size SUV December 21st-December 30th. We were the first customers to enter on the 21st to pick up our rental. The employee behind the counter informed my husband that they did not have an SUV available for us to rent. She said they would only be able to give us a car. My husband asked if she could call the airport to see if they had an SUV we could rent. The employee was not at all helpful, she refused to help us figure out how she could honor our $600 reservation. She was rude and should not be in the customer service business. We were forced to cancel our reservation with Hertz, and book with another company, which cost us an additional $150. We will not be giving our business to Hertz again, and will make sure everyone we know is made aware of how awful their customer service was this time. Horrible CUSTOMER SERVICE! The worst staff available I believe! We made reservations the day before. Was told we would have the type of vehicle we needed. Upon arrival we were told that they did not have the correct type of vehicle. The lady at the counter, I Believe her name was Lawanna or Mawanna, was absolutely horrible. My experience was terrible. First of all, the csr (Thomas) was quite possible the most unenthusiastic person I've ever met. The insurance of the man that hit me was responsible for the bill. However, I was charged a $50 deposit (I could handle that) and additional money that the insurance company would not cover. WHAT????? So, I paid it because Thomas told me he would cut me a break and allow me to return the car on empty. Ha! When I returned the car, I was charged a $29 fee for fuel. Now why would I do that since it took $18 to fill it up. He said that's not what he said. YES, IT WAS. He made it sound like he was saving me money. I will NEVER rent from them again. read more
