Beyond horrible. I was forced to deal with these people due to a dealership setup. Not only do they have zero idea what they are doing, requiring multiple calls to try to set up a vehicle, but have no services available like any other rental provider (pick up, etc). Stay FAR away from this "establishment" and even Hertz as a whole. Remember that show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" Even in a labor shortage, the employee "Patience" is not. You're better off with a 5th grader. Plenty of other rental service companies to choose from with immeasurably better service and competence. read more

Due to a lapse with Enterprise, my parents were without a vehicle and had a hotel reservation in Utah. We thought we were in a pickle until we spoke with Girard at this Hertz location. Once he heard it was an insurance related rental, he assured us he would have a car once the insurance claim was received. We arrived, were greeted pleasantly and a car was ready within 20 minutes. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I cannot stress that enough. They double charged me for a car rental, and after weeks of trying to communicate with them and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, they credited my account. I was just searching my statements for travel related charges and noticed that after about three weeks, they recharged that amount to my credit card as a new charge. I am outraged and am in disbelief. I wish I would have read reviews before ever doing business with them. They are no longer recommended by the BBB due to the number of unanswered complaints against them. Do your research and choose any other company first! read more

This is as much a condemnation of Hertz in general as this location in particular. They gave me a car with a slow leak in a tire so not only did I have to pump it up every couple days, I received a $100 charge which I assume is for the tire. I don't know for sure because I couldn't reach anybody by phone. Their automated phone system is terrible, you can't call the local branch and it's nigh impossible to speak with anybody at corporate. I also accidentally locked my fob in the car. There I did get through to someone on the emergency line. They didn't have the door code, couldn't open it remotely or get me a new fob. They said it would be $250 to program a new fob and $700 to tow the car. I got a locksmith there in 10 minutes who opened the car. They are beyond useless if you need them. read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service. A reservation was inadvertently canceled by Hertz and we were left stranded with no help or assistance by the associates that worked at this location. Bait& Switch! My dad and I were in a car accident and needed a car for transportation last minute. Hertz was the only place that had car last minute, when we arrived they said that they didn't have the car we book online. They said that the only car they had was over twice as much at the car we had originally booked. When my dad became upset clearly because we weren't going to be able to pay that much for car--the manager laughed at us. We decided to leave and said to cancel the car. A few days later my dad noticed a charge pending on his card--after speaking with Hertz they said they wouldn't charge his card. Well of course they charge my dads card. Do ourselves a huge favor--don't go here. Even if they offer lower prices...go someplace else--they are not worth anything, definitely not worth the lack of customer service and headache. Terrible customer service, avoid if you can. Came here for an insurance rental and was immediately met with an attitude by the manager, Daniel. He was condescending and rude to myself, other customers and his employees while I was there. When there was a miscommunication between insurance about an upgrade to the car, instead of simply saying it was a mistake, he laughed at me. Uncalled for and unprofessional. When I went with him to get the car, at one point he handed me the tablet with the rental contract and stepped a few feet away to "get a smoke break" and started vaping in front of me. I get it's busy, but there's absolutely no reason to do that in front of a customer. Especially when I'm going through a rental agreement you're supposed to review with me. We all have jobs and have to deal with people. If you can't handle it without being rude to your customers, find a different line of work. read more

I rented a car from this place back on 5/13-5/15. I reserved through Hertz rental via Priceline. I was charged twice. I have yet to get a refund for the additional charge and has been 2 weeks. Daniel Orey is the area branch manager and I have not heard a response back since I initially emailed him back on 5/19/2021. Timothy Vigil is now telling me that I need to go through there billing department to get this corrected. I will also dispute these charges from my cc company and see were this goes. RR - 967388424. I will follow up on this post on my finding. Tim called me back and did apologize due to the long memorial weekend. He directed me to the hertz 8/654-4173 and stated that it was out of his hands. I called that number spoke to a Daniel D that stated that the extra collision coverage waiver will be refunded in 5-7 business day. I will follow up with you all. 6-13-2021 now that I have my money back from being double charged. I updated the business to 2 stars. I shouldn't have to babysit being double charged when going through Hertz rental. My reasoning for not giving more stars is that the follow up with the local agents like Daniel was sub par. They are both very nice to deal with initially but the overall process could have have been handled much better read more

My car broke down so I needed to rent a car. I went online and found a "managers deal with Hertz Thornton. I took a Lyft to the Thornton Hertz office to pick up the car. To my surprise Hertz did the old "bait and switch" where the car I reserved $280 was not available but I could rent another car for $520. I refused to rent the car and I left very angry! Later I found out that Hertz charged my credit card $65. I had ti call Hertz several times to have them reverse the payment. Hertz Thornton is terrible and I will never rent from them again!!! read more

The people at this location are completely terrible. The young man at the front desk was sarcastic and rude to say the least. I was told to use them from State Farm and you can bet that I let State Farm know the they are a very poor representation of their company. I also let the Hertz Account Mgr know what a poor quality this office performs at. I would suggest using the office in Broomfield. If I ever have to use them again, I certainly will. read more

The rep here was wanting to charge me when I went in for a rental that XXXX insurance was getting me due to an accident caused by their insured. When I told them "no, I don't have that amount on my card" they told me, and this is a direct quote " you'll have to pay it, or you can't get the rental". I had to leave and call a ride (the body shop had dropped me off). I went back three days later, after payday, and when the "gentleman" asked my name he said (again a direct quote) "are you the guy that was here a few days ago? (Yes) I don't have the truck any more, (ok... ) he looks at me and says, I don't have any car at all for you (the insurance had remade the reservation for that day). I told him ok, told the customer behind me good luck, and went to Enterprise... wonderful experience there. read more

Absolutely RUDE employees. When we returned our rental it was 30 minutes after closing so we put the key in the drop box and went on our way this was on 10/25. The day after we returned our rental 10/26 we had to go in person because no one was answering the phones when we would call. We arrived and was asking the lady at the front counter about some additional charges that were on our card, she was new and states she started a couple days ago and another lady walked up to help. They proceeded to pull up our rental agreement and said the additional $67.50 was for adding a driver which we never asked them about the $67.50 charge. My husband was wondering why that morning on 10/26 hertz charged us $218.00 additional. They got very rude and acted as if we were making this up. My husband pulled up the transaction charge to show them which was taken out that morning so it was going to say pending, they said it was our bank who made that charge not them. It clearly said HERTZ and not discover. Then they said it was a charge that was going to reverse after 72 hours but did not want to tell us why $218 was taken off our card. They printed a paper and shoved it in my husbands face and told him call his bank. The lady who was training the other girl was shaking her head and acting as if we were in the wrong. They were down right rude and did not want to help us at all! The rental agreement was $460 plus a $200 deposit so $660 was taken plus an additional $218. Hertz should be ashamed to have people working for them who obviously don't either like their job or like working with public. When issues happen you are supposed to help figure out why not just shove them along the way because you do not want to deal with them. I will be contacting corporate on this matter because it was absurd the service we received and we will get our money back for these additional charges since they aren't to keen on helping their customers. read more

Absolute crooks. I will give zero stars if I could. They charged my card without my permission an additional $600 for a cleaning fee. I had the car cleaned before I dropped it off to them so I asked for proof it was dirty they said they had photo evidence but they will not release the evidence. I will never be returning and suggest you take tour business elsewhere. read more

The Thornton location knowingly charged me for a higher rate class vehicle when they were well aware the only vehicle was a cheaper class. I was not shown the rate class I signed for and when I tried to get the matter resolved, both the Thornton location and customer service were unable or unwilling to correct the charge. They then tried to tell me that there was no difference in price for a G class vs C class and it's not worth trying. Shady business practice. read more

I'm not sure whom FloridaSnowboarder worked with at this location; my interactions with 'Alex' and 'Dan' at this location were far from positive or professional. In February, I rented a Toyota Corolla for my annual drive to visit my parents for use over this past weekend. I booked online at Hertz.com and requested XM radio service at the time of booking. My reservation processed without issue and with a confirmation noting that I wanted XM. I received a phone call from 'Alex' early in the afternoon the day I was to pick up my car - they had my car ready early if I wanted it. Great! Hubby and I headed over to pick up the car a full two hours ahead of schedule. When I arrived, I inquired while confirming my reservation if they had activated XM radio. I was told by 'Dan' that they didn't have XM and he was surprised the website allowed me to select it. He then told me that the airport location refuses to allow the local edition sites to use XM. I asked him to review my reservation to confirm that I had requested it. He hemmed and hawed, then pulled up the reservation and acknowledged that I had requested it, "But would take the charge off as a courtesy." Ooookay, strike one. The car itself wasn't in what I would consider the best shape. There was a huge dent in the front bumper, passenger's side, along with numerous scratches over the entire car. I wasn't too concerned with cosmetic issues, and he did note each scratch on the paperwork, but it did bother me that the store had not taken the time to fix these before handing the car over. Additionally, I noticed once I got home that whomever had last cleaned the car left trash under both of the front seats. Serious lack of care when handing the car over. This in relation to the lack of XM made me wonder if perhaps 'Alex' and 'Dan' simply wanted to get the last reservation of the day out the door early so they could watch basketball? He also stated that, since I used a debit card, I would see a $200 pending transaction for a 'deposit'. This seemed a little weird, and you can imagine my shock when I noticed a $394!!! pending charge that evening. I immediately called the store and was accosted by Dan because "He told you there was a deposit!" Well, yes, but not a $200 *plus* my weekly rental fee! The car itself worked fine for our needs, though I was midway through the state of Nebraska when the 'Maintenance Required' light came on - and stayed on! We checked the owner's manual, it *seemed* like this was expected when there was time for an oil change, and I called Hertz Roadside Assistance to confirm. You would think the store would have confirmed the car was maintained properly before sending it on the road? I did contact customer service before we got on the road Thursday because I was so irritated with the behavior of these gentlemen and the breach of contract with my request for XM. The agent I spoke with was happy to take my information to have the store's manager contact me the next day. Well, here we are several days later with NO contact from the store at all. Do yourself a favor - if you simply need overnight transportation while the car is in the shop, these guys might work. For anything else, drive to the airport (since they have the stranglehold on XM radios, anyways), or work with a different agency! read more

I have worked with this location for almost two years now. Danny the manager at this location works his tail off! I've rented hundreds of cars through him and I know how hard he works to accommodate his customers. Hertz works their employees really hard so there is bound to be scenarios that just can't be fixed or accommodated. I would definitely recommended Danny and his team. read more

Upon moving to Colorado last month, Hertz Corporate decided to upgrade me to Gold Plus again! Although there's no shuttle bus, and no big lightboard marquee with your name and covered stall number on it like there is at Denver International Airport and some of the other bigger locations, this particular Hertz Local Edition location is awesome, and just a short distance away from home. No problems with employees or service. I was able to drop a previous rental off at this location vs. having to go all the way back to the airport at no additional cost, while some other nearby non-airport locations wanted several hundreds of dollars, so a lot of money and time were saved on the day of my move. Having a ride with seat heaters was awesome during my last rental, as it was -16 degrees outside. They were very accommodating when I had to keep the car for an extra day, and didn't have huge deposit requirements when renting with a debit card. Just a quick heads up that this location closes really early on Saturdays, around 12 noon, and is usually closed on Sundays. It's Hertz policy that they'll continue to charge your debit card until the first business day an employee is physically available onsite to check your car out, where any extra deposits charged are then refunded, so plan accordingly with the weekend rentals. read more

I have been getting rental cars from Daniel and Ethan for the last year. They are very friendly and they always go out of their way to help. Daniel will even come pick the car up if I don't have time to bring it back. I like that they always have the car ready when they say they are going to. I would give more than 5 stars if I could for their customer service alone. They always have nice, clean cars too. The last car I drove was a Malibu and I wasn't in a hurry to take it back, it was nice. read more

So disappointed in the lack of communication in this company... Not only has Hertz charged both me and my insurance company for the same bill but after both me, and my insurance company provided them with documentation of this I am still being charged almost $2,000 .... Every time I contact Hertz I get the run around, I have provided bank Statements, receipts of this bill and more... this has been going on for months. Starting in November 2018! I reserved a car and 4 hours before pickup time they call me telling me they can't accommodate my reservation. Getting an answer why was like pulling teeth. Called another location and they said all the universities in the area were having graduation this weekend. Isn't the whole point of making a reservation to ensure you have a car? I had a very bad experience in Denver after reserving a Hertz rental car through CarRental.Com. I was told on the Hertz hotline that there would be a shuttle to pick me up at the airport, but I ended up having to spend over $50 dollars to get a taxi to the Hertz location. They reimbursed me $10 dollars on the spot, but I sent a letter to Hertz, explaining the situation. They investigated and even though I didn't have my taxi receipt, they are sending me $50.00 in rental coupons. Although nothing can compensate for the lost time in Denver when I was trying to get a shuttle or reimbursement for the entire taxi ride, I feel that Hertz has extended a gesture of good will. I would definitely rent a car from them again. read more
