I wish I could give a half star rating. I might give them 1.5. the sushi was ok. The crunchy roll was not crunchy, the rolls were falling apart. The coconut soup may have had 5 drops of coconut milk in it. Otherwise it was a sad gray color. I will say the chicken in the soup was kind of incredible. Really baffling. The basil noodle was disappointing and looked like an unflavored noodle with a spot of sauce. Like sauce was an after thought and they splashed it on at the end. The egg roll was generic and fine. The general tsos was very disappointing. I know delivery can't always let the chicken be crunchy but this was squishy and bland. Not in a safe kinda "we didn't want to insult anybody" bland but full bland. I don't really wanna order from this place again. Save yourself the time and money. read more

I have been a fan of Hewa for around a year now. Today changed my mindset. I was having a girls day with some of my friends, and we decided to order some food. My go to was Hewa. The service was very good. The food arrived within minutes of ordering. I was so exited to munch on my favorite food of my favorite place. As soon as we opened up the fried rice, we knew something was up. The rice looked yellow, like Hispanic rice. The chicken inside the fried rice tasted like rubber, and looked like egg whites. I was very concerned. Although the white rice was good, as well as the chicken and broccoli the fried rice was just gross. The sushi was amazing! read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight because they left the menu under our apartment door. Really disappointed. Everything had a weird stank and wasn't appetizing either. The bags our food were in smelled like an ashtray, which means he was smoking in the car with our food in it. I called the restaurant and they gave me crap so I called Grubhub and they couldn't do anything and so they called the place and they REFUSED a refund or remake. I placed an order with Hewa Japanese Restaurant through, and once the door dasher arrived, they told the driver they didn't have an order for me. I received a text saying my order was CONFIRMED by the restaurant, then later CANCELED when they told the driver they didn't have my order. By the looks of it, they got my order if they canceled it. That's fucked up. I go back to the app, and all of a sudden they're closed?! But when you look them up, they're open until 10:30! Cheap food/sushi to eat while listening to the same '90's mix tape cd they've had playing in the store since 2009. However, it's not worth it. I got the teriyaki salmon bento box and a special roll with soft shell crap tempura (forgot the name). Anyway, it came with miso soup (which tasted like salty sea water) it was SALT FLAVORED.... =/ Next came the bento box (not a fan of the seaweed), the rice I found a mosquito which made me suspect EVERY SINGLE GRAIN OF RICE thereafter, making for an unpleasant experience and taste/texture to the food. Salmon teriyaki was decent, however the salmon looked like it was just thawed out fresh from the freezer and slathered with sauce. THE ONIONS that were in the sauce were the highlight of the dish =| The special roll was ok, but the experience was just ruined by the 2 bugs (I FOUND) amongst possible countless others I didn't see. PLEASE WASH YOUR RICE or invest in bug spray, don't throw rice at the insects! Take out VERY good. Quick service. I usually have the chicken/shrimp dishes on the menu. Love Szechuan chicken extra spicy. I like all the sauces and they make tasty fried rice. We have only tried few sushi rolls we think good for local place. I think they have the best egg rolls around hands down. Get the tray for a party you will not be disappointed. Impossible! Yes, Impossible that any review for this place could be anything but, a low rating. Again and again, I am seeing reviews for places that are suspect at best. This is a very very inexpensive place and one may want to consider how does a restaurant sell food at such an inexpensive price point? Well, from my own experience, the quality is a bit off tasting. I ordered soup. Off Tasting. I ordered a roll of Salmon Skin...off tasting. I stopped here because of the reviews. It is IMPOSSIBLE that the reviews I read are anything other than suspect. We ordered take-out for work here. Its one of the few that delivers sushi around work. I got shrimp pad thai. It was a bit dry, maybe because it was just too packed in the container. As far as taste, it's mediocre. It satisfied my craving to say the least. I also got the soft shell crab appetizer. The sauce that came along with it was a bit sour, I prefer soy sauce instead. It was good and great price, included many pieces. My coworker ordered the shrimp tempura roll. He said it was ok, portion size was a bit small even though there were 6 pieces. Prices for sushi was reasonable compared to another restaurant nearby. I usually don't care for mix gourmet places but this place gets the job done if your craving for a mix of chinese, japanese, and or thai. It only took about 20 minutes for delivery. First time visiting. I ordered the General Tso chicken online. Overall I was very happy with the dish, pork fried rice was very flavourful, broccoli was al dente, chicken also was very flavourful. My only complaint is that I selected "spicy" online for the order and I dont believe I have anything more than mild. But I wont fault them for that because it may be the online 3rd party's fault. Inside is also very quaint. It has seating for maybe 15-20 people, pretty small, but it doesnt care you like some take-outs. Can't wait to try their sushi on a later visit. read more

Tofu: over fried the tofu & didnt properly drain the tofu 2. broccoli: was good but again used too much oil 3. fried rice: wasn't soft but very grainy including the peas. 4. I think I was one of their first customers back around 2005 or whenever it opened. And they were so good at first and kept getting better. Then it changed hands. The service became horrible with one hour waits for a simple order. The phone was being answered by a white guy who was just a driver. Have ordered takeout at the store and had delivery through Grubhub. Food is always delicious and the sushi is fresh. The tuna tataki is off the hook good. While they offer the option to eat in and it's clean, it's not a dining room I'd necessarily want to enjoy a good meal in. Every dish I have ever got from this place has been some of the freshest Japanese or Chinese I have ever ate.
