I think I'm going to sushi myself to death!!! I've been eating sushi at the Sushi To Go of Voorhees for a couple of weeks now. It is not a fancy restaurant. Like it's name, is more of a fast take out joint with 4 small tables. As I walked in, I noticed the flat screen TV and across from it, tada, it is the menu. The menu is not too extensive but good enough for me. Ironically I don't eat fish, due to bad childhood experiences with fish, I won't eat them at all. So how do I love sushi but don't eat fish? Well I usually substitute, for example, if a roll has spicy tuna, I will sub with spicy crab. My favorite items are Shrimp Tempura Burrito, Fried Loster Roll, Angel Roll, Sweet potato roll, Angry Dragon Roll, Princess roll, miso soup, clear soup(fried onions, mushrooms, and scallions in a clear broth), Hibachi Scallops, Hibachi Shrimps, Harumaki, etc......I've been eating these for the past 2 weeks, sound insane? I order in from this restaurant when I am not up to doing anything else. The restaurant is primarily a takeout place and they will deliver. The food is always fresh and delicious. I have never received an incorrect order. The prices are reasonable and the gentleman who has consistently delivered my food is always pleasant and friendly. Okay I'm not one to ever write a review online.......However, I have been ordering food from here for about a year now and I've never had any problems. Except with their delivery driver. I ordered delivery once last march and when he arrived I was going to pay in cash, all of sudden he was demanding I made sure I gave him a tip with the money for the order (I always do but the principle of demanding it from me made me wanna change my mind.) Now I made a mistake on my end today ordering for pick up, I accidentally forgot to click off of delivery and it was to my work address ( exactly a 3 minute drive, no I'm not joking ) I received a call from him saying he was at the door and to my confusion I called the restaurant apologizing and saying I could meet him there or back at sushi Togo since I was on my way there anyway and it was my mistake. The driver on the phone spoke extremelyyyyy rude to me and even lowkey fat shamed me , I usually don't take shit from old men but I wanted the food I was picking up without him messing with me so I was just gonna confront them there about it. They could have give less of a care and just shrugged it off like it was nothing, and I apologized and left a tip because I still felt bad for my mistake however as a food service worker I would have never spoken to anyone like that ever. Not to mending he was STANDING OUTSIDE when I met back at the restaurant and when I went to my car he was mumbling and chain smoking saying god knows what but I was more worried about my food that his stank attitude. I'm not a big fan of spending like $13 on a single roll of sushi, so I always come here to fulfill my sushi cravings. They have a pretty good lunch special so I would take advantage of that if I were you. My go tos are their shrimp tempura, eel avocado, and salmon rolls. Sometimes I order the shrimp tempura sushi burrito which I think are really good. Energy from an Asian guy that worked thrre was all off and remind you this is not the first time. So I ordered today because I called a day before and they told me that the could do sushi with out the seaweed n rice(trying to do lo-carb).But this asian young guy was rude to say the least. They were tiny pieces and hardly and salmon was in the one roll. The spicy yellowtail was mostly filler. Not bad, but could be way better. I liked how fresh their green salad was. Their sushi quality is pretty decent, including the raw fish, which is hard to find for the price. I typically order from their lunch menu, because the price is a great deal- 3 rolls of their lunch list for $15. Can't beat that! The delivery is pretty smooth too, never had issues. FYI: Double check to see if they gave you chopsticks if you order take out from them WHAT WE GOT: Spicy tuna sushi burrito, Thunder roll, Rainbow roll, and a regular tuna roll PROS: The flavor was pretty good. Basically what you would expect from a typical sushi place. The sushi burrito was definitely on the better end compared to Hai Street. It tasted fresh and all the ingredients paired with each other so well. There wasn't an obscene amount of spicy mayo in it either so I could taste a bit of everything. The rolls were hefty in size and also tasted pretty good, although some of the pieces of the Rainbow roll I had had a tad too much avocado in them. My boyfriend was pretty satisfied by the Thunder and tuna rolls so I'd say this place gets a gold star from us. The price to portion ratio was also pretty standard for sushi; nothing too outrageous. And the wait time between us calling in the order and them making it was only 15 minutes. Overall, I'm impressed. CONS: We ordered take out and assumed there were going to be chopsticks included in the bag but apparently that's not a thing for them. Not sure if they just forgot though. I believe this is a small, hidden gem in the suburban South Jersey. An hour prior to my visit here, I had a 4 course meal down in Philly; just an fyi to know that I was not even hungry when I came here. When I got to Sushi-to-Go , there were two tables and the store had a take-out sort of vibe. I'm not complaining, just an observation. I only ordered the sushi dinner, which included two of each tuna, salmon, white tuna, and yellowtail as well as a spicy salmon roll (I substituted the spicy tuna roll) and a side of green salad. I ordered it to take-out. My order was incredibly cheap as it was 12 bucks for my order. (*remember, two pieces of sushi cost 5 bucks alone at most sushi bars*) As for the taste, the quality is amazing for the price. The fish is hella fresh. My favorite is the white tuna because that literally melted in my mouth. I liked the subtle bit of tempura crumbs within the spicy salmon roll. In regards to service, I'd say my experience was perfect as the person taking my order allowed me to substitute the spicy tuna roll with the spicy salmon roll without an issue. I've been a fan of the Marlton location since it opened so of course I wanted to try their new location, which was closer to my work location. This location is smaller than the one in Marlton but there are tables for you to eat in. I made it in right before lunch hour so it wasn't too busy. I ordered based on the chef's recommendation and got the special crab stick and seaweed salad, and the shrimp tempura burrito. Just as I expected, the food was delicious. My favorite was the salad because the dressing was just right, which allowed me to taste the different components of the dish. The salad also offered great textures because of the fried kani and the avocado. The sushi burrito was delicious as well. There was a good ratio of rice to kani and shrimp tempura. All of the ingredients tasted fresh! I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at any of these Sushi to Go locations, which is why I keep coming back. Next time I'll go for the 3 roll/ $10.50 lunch special, which is great for my wallet!! read more

If you dine in, it looks like a little cafeteria and they cook out in the open so you'll probably smell like fried foods when you leave. My food was done on time and the staff was nice. This is my second time going here and it's honestly pretty good. The first time I went I was hesitant but ended up stopping by anyways. I got the spicy salmon burrito and it was big and delicious, with the right amount of spicy mayo and avocado and the perfect amount of crunch to fight through a very One texture meal. Yesterday I got the spicy salmon roll again and a tuna roll and wasn't disappointed again. The fish is honestly fresh and the rolls have a good sushi to rice ratio. My friend got the sashimi dinner and said all her pieces were good as well. For the price and just convenience this place is pretty awesome. For those who are hesitant to try don't be, the quality is better than your average roll at other convenience places, shop rite etc. is it the best, no. But for the price it's right and the quality is even better than you would think. They give you everything you need including wasabi ginger and soy sauce without you having to ask which is also nice. The first time I ordered a sushi lunch special which is well priced but I did not like the sushi. I decided to try again... today I ordered regular rolls thinking that maybe they skimp just in the specials. I ordered an angel and rainbow roll with side order of white tuna and Kani sushi. We tried them again after our 1 star again because we wanted to try their sushi burritos with mixed results. We ended up getting yellowtail and chicken Katsu burritos along with pork kyoza. The gyoza was quite good, my gf loved her chicken katsu but my yellowtail sadly was trashed after two bites. It wasn't the quality of the yellowtail but the jalapeños in it wasn't bits and pieces but slices and man thy were HOT. I grew up with Cajun spice but after one bite (only part of jalapeño) my tongue burned for at least 20 minutes and even after taking them out and having a second bite the residue was still there so I couldn't eat it. If you want hot then the yellowtail sushi burrito is for you. Word of advice is suck on a lemon or drink/eat dairy instead of water to help ease the pain. We will most def try again and are happy we can see why people enjoy this place but no japapenis next time. read more

Got a hibachi shrimp too. Everything we ordered was great. Spicy yellowtail was awesome. And tuna avocado roll was great. Shrimp hibachi tasted good. Grill was clean and everything was cooked well. Second time was for dinner. Take out. Placed the order. They were nice and accommodating when I wanted to add something to my order. But when I got home and saw my sushi which was the same as I ordered the first time, it was nothing like what I got before. It didn't even taste the same and there were bits of shrimp. No yellowtail was anywhere to be found. I was so disappointed. I live about 15 min away and wasn't about to go back. My BF ate what I didn't want and we dealt w it. I also got hibachi veggie noodles which is just lo mein basically. But the "veggie" part was just onions and slivers of carrots. And the vegetables they gave as a side weren't cooked all the way. It was nothing like the veggies we got w the shrimp hibachi on our first visit. I'll give this place another try and hopefully it's like the first time. read more

The sushi is ok, but not firm enough, so often it falls apart when you're trying to lift it with chopsticks. Their standard sushi always has rice on the outside, so if you want seaweed on the outside, you will need to let them know. I have ordered several times from this Chinese-owned restaurant, because it is conveniently located and service is very fast. Pickup is right at the door, so you don't even have to go inside. Only once I got an upset stomach from their sushi, but all other times, it has been ok. If you ask for a little extra ginger or condiments on the side, you are charged extra for it. Here's the thing that annoys me the most about this restaurant. They give a 10% discount if you pay cash, and they ask you several times if you can pay cash, instead of card. So, they clearly don't want to pay any taxes. When I place an order on their website or by calling in, they remind you, save 10% if you pay cash. When you go to pick up the order, the owner again asks you if you can pay cash. And, she's not happy if you pay by card. I have never been to any other restaurant where they insist on cash so much that it actually gets annoying! I often pre-pay online, just to avoid talking to the lady. So, I would have given them an extra star in the rating, if they stopped the ridiculous cash vs card reminders. You can order pick up via Grubhub, but the prices are marked up. If you order delivery via Doordash, they decide whether they will allow Doordash to deliver, or send their own delivery person. read more

It won't make you feel too full though so you might want to order an additional item. My friends and I have had their platters with several kinds of sushi rolls. They were pretty good as well. There was one platter they had with a deep fried roll that was really delicious. If you are doing a pickup, make sure to call in early because they get really busy during lunch and the wait times can get up to 20 minutes. read more
