a platter of sushi

good quality sushi. the seating area inside is small but clean and the staff are very friendly! the sushi was fresh and delicious. overall really yummy sushi that i enjoyed. i have been going here for years and always return. it is not the best sushi in south jersey but will do the trick if you have a craving!

So, if you ask me if Sushi To Go has good sushi I'd tell you this: Their sushi is alright, is it amazing? No, not really. BUT it is convenient, less expensive, and they have good deals. I'm not a big fan of spending like $13 on a single roll of sushi, so I always come here to fulfill my sushi cravings. They have a pretty good lunch special so I would take advantage of that if I were you. My go tos are their shrimp tempura, eel avocado, and salmon rolls. Sometimes I order the shrimp tempura sushi burrito which I think are really good. The sushi pieces are pretty small, so take that into account when you're deciding on how many rolls to get!

I was craving sushi and decided to give this place another chance after so long. I opted for the two roll lunch special. The photos speak for themselves. They were tiny pieces and hardly and salmon was in the one roll. The spicy yellowtail was mostly filler. Not bad, but could be way better. I liked how fresh their green salad was. They give you a lot of spicy mayo for just 50¢. The ginger didn't seem fresh.

We had been craving sushi since quarantine started and this place hit the spot! We wanted to get the lunch special but they don't have it on Sundays but it was still good. The woman working there was very nice. We got spicy mayo on the side (50c each) and she snuck in an extra one. Quality wasn't great for a "fast food" sushi place.

FYI: Double check to see if they gave you chopsticks if you order take out from them WHAT WE GOT: Spicy tuna sushi burrito, Thunder roll, Rainbow roll, and a regular tuna roll PROS: The flavor was pretty good. Basically what you would expect from a typical sushi place. The sushi burrito was definitely on the better end compared to Hai Street. It tasted fresh and all the ingredients paired with each other so well. There wasn't an obscene amount of spicy mayo in it either so I could taste a bit of everything. The rolls were hefty in size and also tasted pretty good, although some of the pieces of the Rainbow roll I had had a tad too much avocado in them. My boyfriend was pretty satisfied by the Thunder and tuna rolls so I'd say this place gets a gold star from us. The price to portion ratio was also pretty standard for sushi; nothing too outrageous. And the wait time between us calling in the order and them making it was only 15 minutes. Overall, I'm impressed. CONS: We ordered take out and assumed there were going to be chopsticks included in the bag but apparently that's not a thing for them. Not sure if they just forgot though. I mean it wasn't too bad eating the rolls with our fingers but we'd definitely prefer using some utensils.

Sushi Dinner - Substituted spicy tuna roll with spicy salmon instead

I believe this is a small, hidden gem in the suburban South Jersey. An hour prior to my visit here, I had a 4 course meal down in Philly; just an fyi to know that I was not even hungry when I came here. When I got to Sushi-to-Go , there were two tables and the store had a take-out sort of vibe. I'm not complaining, just an observation. I only ordered the sushi dinner, which included two of each tuna, salmon, white tuna, and yellowtail as well as a spicy salmon roll (I substituted the spicy tuna roll) and a side of green salad. I ordered it to take-out. My order was incredibly cheap as it was 12 bucks for my order. (*remember, two pieces of sushi cost 5 bucks alone at most sushi bars*) As for the taste, the quality is amazing for the price. The fish is hella fresh. My favorite is the white tuna because that literally melted in my mouth. I liked the subtle bit of tempura crumbs within the spicy salmon roll. In regards to service, I'd say my experience was perfect as the person taking my order allowed me to substitute the spicy tuna roll with the spicy salmon roll without an issue. Also, this place has sushi burritos!~ If you don't live anywhere near Hai Street in Philly, this place is a great alternative in NJ.

Special Crab Stick and Seaweed Salad
 Shrimp Tempura Sushi Burrito

I've been a fan of the Marlton location since it opened so of course I wanted to try their new location, which was closer to my work location. This location is smaller than the one in Marlton but there are tables for you to eat in. I made it in right before lunch hour so it wasn't too busy. I ordered based on the chef's recommendation and got the special crab stick and seaweed salad, and the shrimp tempura burrito. Just as I expected, the food was delicious. My favorite was the salad because the dressing was just right, which allowed me to taste the different components of the dish. The salad also offered great textures because of the fried kani and the avocado. The sushi burrito was delicious as well. There was a good ratio of rice to kani and shrimp tempura. All of the ingredients tasted fresh! I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at any of these Sushi to Go locations, which is why I keep coming back. Next time I'll go for the 3 roll/ $10.50 lunch special, which is great for my wallet!!

Very average Hibachi for $20 then they charge extra for white sauce. FYI it's included everywhere else for free!

Our go-to sushi place. Consistently great food and service. Would be better it if they had more creative vegetarian options.

But I always come back to the sushi. The Maki (rolls) here are an exceptional value. They are loaded with fresh fish and just a thin veneer of rice. The lunch "any two" or "any three" roll special is hard to beat.

Any reputable Japanese restaurant knows that soy sauce isn't an afterthought; it's an essential part of the meal. Even for takeout, quality establishments provide enough soy sauce--usually in proper containers--to match the size of the order. A single fast-food-style packet for $70 worth of sushi is simply inexcusable. It's the little details that separate great restaurants from mediocre ones, and this was a glaring miss. When you're charging premium prices, customers expect premium service, whether they're dining in or taking their food home. This felt cheap, careless, and completely out of touch with the standards of a quality Japanese restaurant. If a restaurant is willing to cut corners on something this basic, it doesn't inspire much confidence in the overall customer experience. There are plenty of sushi restaurants that understand hospitality and take pride in every order. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them.

I am not sure if they have Japanese roots but everyone took the time to make our experience and food phenominal, which is a part of the Japanese culture. The actual fish quality and care in preparation with the little additions of yuzu and other spices on the individual pieces were amazing! It was like every piece was served as omakaze. Also, the chef served the highest quality and cuts of fish. This was a second visit for us. I usually do a review after two visits to judge a location and this place exceeded our first visit... I thought the first visit was a fluke because of how good it was. Now I believe they are actually this good.. The locals that live around here have a plethora of places to go to for sushi (we know because we have been to em all), but this place is the Gold Standard in our opinion. We live about 40 minutes away and made the trip here because of what I remember from our last visit. The ambience is cool with tons of pictures of private parties and fun times people have here. I deff want to have them cater a sushi party for us soon! We went here the first to try some place new by searching Yelp.... However, I saw them pop up on either my Instagram or Youtube feed a couple weeks ago. I know sometimes InstaTube places are a disappointment, but do not be affraid to try here and form your own opinion.

Food comes out quickly and insanely fresh sometimes even sizzling, if you go up to the front desk the waiter is willing to take extra orders there. Everybody is nice respectful and calm.
