The lighting in this place is amazingly dark!! But the food is very good. I was lured into this restaurant because I had seen that they had Salt & Pepper Wings on their menu. This item is hard to find in South Jersey, and every place seems to make it different. The ones I had here were very good. I chose a lunch entree, shrimp lo mein, which was delicious. I spent 45.15 at the Oriental Palace in lawnside, and they forgot to send the gravy and sweet and sour sauce with the order. Not a problem, called back and ask for my sauce and gravy. Which has happened more then once. Also asked for a large gravy instead of the small for the inconvience. They sent a small! I called back and spoke with the mgr who said the small gravy comes with the meal, sorry. Nevermind the fact that I received my meal in parts. Let's take it as a 45.00 lasting experience! This place was great! I love egg rolls and the shrimp roll was excellent, fresh and crispy. The edamame were good, not my thing but we had a free app coupon for it. Crispy noodles were freshly made and light. We had sizzling steak that came out sizzling, steaming and popping. Delicious I had the Thai mango shrimp and it was sweet and tastey, not spicy at all. I just walked out of this place very frustrated and can't believe how rude the workers there are. I went in. Was there for about 10 minutes then ask if someone's working upfront the guy in the back says someone will be out in a minute. I wait another 10 minutes when someone finally comes out, he says someone will be with you in a minute and yell's in a nasty tone to wait one minute how rude is that not only was it rude but the tone of his voice just made me walk right out. This place is a small, unassuming spot, in a large, mostly closed strip mall. But every time i go there, people are so kind and friendly, we often order take out and they get it right every time. So much so, that I once forgot to ask for the sauce my daughter prefers on her noodles, and the employee actually called me to double check my order was correct! They also offer Japanese food which we haven't tried because I have a preference for restaurants solely offering Japanese. The House Special fried rice or low mein could be a meal by themself. One unique entree item is the shrimp with soybean sauce however, I suggest you eat it that day because it become very soggy when reheated. They have to go alcoholic drinks if you desire as it was decided not to reopen the bar area post Covid. The ambiance of the dine in area looks nice and they most likely have a sushi bar. Once they stopped running it, the food wasn't as good anymore & we stopped going. Well tonight we decided to check it out. The inside was pretty nice & the service was good. Such a hidden gem in the shopping center. Beautiful inside and peaceful music to enjoy dining in. It felt like a spa with the light music and low lighting, great place for a date. Great food. Well, well, well, what do we have here? A don't judge a book by it's cover restaurant. Oriental Palace is located in the corner end of a dreary strip mall. The outside of the restaurant looks dark and lonely. Though, when we went inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The decor is modern and they have a full service bar. (we noticed quite a few people eating at the bar). We usually don't like to dine at Asian restaurants that serve multi-cuisine (Chinese/Japanese/Thai, etc.) because more often than not, one of the cuisines usually takes a hit on the suckyness scale. (usually the sushi). Libations: they serve signature drinks, beer and they have a small Sake offering. I had a few Mai Tai's, they were very good! Kate was in the mood for Reisling. We decided to try the Japanese and stick with all sushi rolls. The sushi was fresh. The rolls were made tight. The rice was okay but it did not have the proper vinegar kick like the Sagami or Fuji restaurants. The 'Paradise' roll was VERY GOOD. It was topped off with small tempura flakes that added a tasty dimension to it. Other notables were the 'Torch' and the 'N.Y. Rainbow' roll. (they were not over sauced) I believe the have a sushi bar. I didn't see a Omakase offering. The sushi was fresh enough that I will try the Sashimi next time (as a true test of quality/freshness). The server was proficient but not the most friendly (she kind of looked sad and indentured). Our water glasses were continuously refreshed. The prices were reasonable. They seem to do a booming take-out business. I'm looking forward to returning so I can try some of the Chinese offerings. A solid 3.5 stars. read more

A friend suggested this place so we double-dated last night. You'll drive by it. You'll realize this and turn around. You'll see it sitting all by its lonesome in a corner of a strip mall. You'll be leery, but you'll see the plentiful cars parked outside, and the busy bar which is part of the restaurant. (The bar is happening apparently, maybe not if you're younger, but still.) It's surprisingly nice inside. Clean, pleasant. Out waitress was very nice. I tried the Bloody Mary, and it was horrible, but I dumped a lot fo salt and pepper on it and got it down. The food was excellent. Between the four of us, we must have ordered 12 different rolls. Everything was very tasty. They currently have a half priced sushi list from Monday-Thursday, so it also didn't break the bank. I can't wait to go back. But this past experience left a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively) After the food did not arrive an hour later I called just to be sure my grub hub order went through.
