I popped in on Sunday morning hoping for a cold brew as a tourist from Oregon. I found cold brew on nitro! It was about $4 I think and I didn't specify a size. She did warn me before creaming and sugaring to taste it first. I still added simple syrup but I did go super light on the cream. It was okay! I have only had Stumptown on nitro before. This wasn't as smooth as I prefer but it was creamier than most. We talked for a few minutes about the beans and roasting. I could tell this place was legit in their bean knowledge. They knew more than me. Ha! They also had a trophy for barista-ing. I enjoyed this little experience. The atmosphere was super cute like Silver Lake or some other airy boho hamlet. Lots of wood and white space. I'd definitely recommend this place for a cuppa joe. read more

I suppose I got my coffee fix in Victoria. Interior was a bit unoriginal and felt somewhat poser-ish. Staff was not that friendly but they weren't unfriendly either. It seems Victoria in general is neither hot nor cold. I would give 3 stars if this was in LA. Since they are starting off, giving room to improve. Pour overs of unique varieties, I just went for the house blend, which was a supreme light roast with just stellar flavor. Wife had the espresso, perfect, nutty, delicious! A small fancy looking coffee shop in the square... they have their cold brew coffee... and some specialty drink... i had the coconut latte, which is very tasty... We came here after reading the high reviews and posts on here and Google maps. We arrived a few minutes before opening and decided to eat breakfast at Willie's across the street. And when we came back the coffee shop was filled with all sorts of people. We were helped by a helpful employee. And told him we had never heard of their Nitro brew that we read online. He was helpful and offered us a free taste in a cute cappuccino cup. We tried and it was definitely different hard to explain other then a bubbly beer light substance that tastes like coffee. We ordered one tall class almost like what a beer would be in. It only cost $4. We stood at the window and enjoyed the coffee while watching out and enjoying the atmosphere. Great spot and location. Walking distance from the ferry and the Grand Pacific Hotel. I'd recommend it! read more

Really cool space. I love the clean, wood furniture look here. The ice coffee was great and I wish I had tried some of the specialty drinks - it was only afterwards that I saw they had iced lattes and lattes made with coconut milk. Nice coffee shop in the middle of the city. We tried the Kenyan brew from Hart coffee in a filtered brew. It wasn't my favourite brew - a little sour for my taste. I prefer a smoother coffee. But, I like the vibe of the shop and would definitely go back again and try another type of brew. The staff were friendly and helpful. Not a place to go to with a large group if you want to sit inside. Max two people I would say if you want to grab an inside seat. But, there's plenty of seating outside in the market square - so there's always that option. read more

I had a nitro cold brew and blackberry danish which was perfect pair. Nitro cold brew was smooth and bit sour for my taste to take it by itself but paring with some sweet treat was perfect. They don't have many tables inside of the cafe but you and enjoy the outside patio in the back square( shared area with other stores). Yum! I treated myself to their Iced Coconut Milk Latte and it was delish! Before I had a similar drink and Starbucks and hated it, so I was cautious when ordering this drink. But! It was rich, somewhat sweet (I wonder what sweetener is in their coconut milk?) and super satisfying. Wanted to like this place but a being served a tiny (4 oz.) "wet" cappuccino with zero foam and hardly any steamed milk by the taste of it, made my heart sink. I had asked for cappuccino, my crime was that I had not specified wet or dry. When I asked (politely) where the foam was, or the milk, I was given an explanation of the diff between- but no offer to fix it or add a little milk. This is one of the best places for coffee in Victoria! The baristas are so friendly and helpful and the coffee is delicious every time. I am picky about my coffee, it must be smooth, rich and bold. A lot of other places in town are hit and miss but not Hey Happy. They only carry the best coffee beans from roasters who take care with the roasting process and don't burn the beans like most other roasters do.
