It was a pretty big patty, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, the salt in cheese paired with the sweet in the pineapple, they got the bun right. It was bliss. My husband got the shrimp burger, it was awesome too. The spicy soy sauce pairs super well with the fried shrimp burger and the fried chicken burger. It cuts through the grease and balances it out. MY ORDER: #12 Onion Rings ($9.50): Well breaded and crunchy! It also came with a spicy catsup which adds a good tingle to your tongue. Shareable! #11 Chili Cheese Fries ($10): Whenever I see chili cheese fries (ccf) on the menu, I jump at the opportunity. And I don't care what others think, but my baseline comparison is with Tommy's Chili Cheese Fries, in which I love! However, HI Burger's ccf is way different imo. Wow! So good we came back and ordered the Pineapple Burger; so juicy and flavorful! We also enjoyed the Arugula Burger and the Chilli Fries. The owners are so friendly and hard working. Located next to the Oasis Hotel. Parking can be tight, but easy walking from the tourist areas. The interior seating is shared with other restaurants. I ordered cheeseburger and onion rings, and the wife got a classic, onion rings, and a coconut milk coffee. Wrong move, don't drink coffee at night if you going have to end up sleeping. Lol food is made to order, which is awesome, you know it's fresh. Waited a good 10 minutes ish maybe. Took out our food, drove out to Queens beach side, looked for street parking to meet the sister, we planned to stay out cuz the wife was going metal detecting. So we pigged out in our car, lol. The burger was just as it was from the first time, juicy, flavorful, so good. I really liked the onion rings, it was so good, crispy, don't fall apart. Wife said she like jack in the box onion rings better. To me, tasted the same, the crispyness, but I think this one has a seasoning, more flavor, but I love Jack in the box onion rings too. So fulfilling. I normally don't finish such a big meal like that. It was so good, I smashed everything. Oh the total for our order was $67. Very pricey, fyi, but it is what it is. If you're in a rush, this might not be the spot for you - we were 'first' in line before the rush, but it still took about ~12 minutes to get our food which wasn't bad, but I imagine it could be longer if you have a lot of parties in front of you. They don't pre-cook anything, hence the wait. We ordered the shrimp burger and chili fries. Shrimp burger was definitely rich and decadent, heavy batter. I wish they gave you a bit more veggies to balance it out. Chili fries were okay, not lifechanging. Overall, wouldn't recommend going out of the way, but not a bad spot if you're looking for something different. Kind people working the front though! Incredible find, the same couple runs the drink/coffee stand and HI burger. Very sweet couple who previously ran a popular burger place in Korea. They were carving the meat when we arrived and they also make the kahuku shrimp patty with fresh chopped shrimp from Kauai. The burger was a great deal at $16, we also tried the onion rings (fried fresh with their own tomato based sauce l) and the coconut coffee. It tasted like a frappe at first but it had a few shots of strong espresso mixed in and was absolutely strong enough to keep me going all afternoon. The little dining area for this ultra mini food hall was clean and big enough to seat our group of 8 including a stroller. Can't wait to go back and try the other burger options. read more
