Seriously the best hamburger I have had in years. The fries are home cut and delicious. I was too full to try one of the shakes/malts that they have in about 100 flavor variations but saw some going by the table and they looked scrumptious. I am no professional but I eat hamburgers at almost every restaurant I go to and this was an A+ for me. This is a tiny and very homey place. Lots of families and very informal. The prices are so cheap for the quality of food you get. I am definitely going back for a malt...malts are hard to find these days so will let you know. read more

This is one of the very last of the eat in drug stores and it is a real treat to eat there. Everything is excellent but particularly the burgers and french fries. Got the Swiss mushroom burger. Really good beef but the bun was so mediocre I should have just taken it off to enjoy the burger. Wish there were more mushrooms and peppers on it. Loved the fried pickles. Regular fries were soggy and disappointing. Kids shared chicken tenders that were a little to crunchy on the outside and dry on the inside. Service was very friendly but food was slow to arrive. I'd probably only order a burger and try a shake next time. read more

They always read my order back and we've always got what we order - like dressing on the side or extra fry sauce. I live in Orem which is about 20-30 minutes away and it's always worth the drive ! The location itself is the original vintage pharmacy and diner. They have tons of cute decorations and Knick knacks the food is incredible and they have amazing icecream. 10/10 recommend the better than anything milkshake . My wife's family, however, is from Kamas Valley. When we started dating, she introduced me to this place. HOLY SHIT. If you enjoy a good home-town burger, fresh hand-cut fries or onion rings, and REAL shakes and malts, this is your place. If you're familiar with other gateway towns on the edges of wilderness areas, you'll be familiar with the type of place this is--an all-in-one drugstore that sells a bit of everything from knitting needles to candy to fishing tackle. However, those things all become a footnote if you've tried the food. Stop by for a burger and shake and I promise, if you're an out-of-towner, you'll be making this place a regular migration every time you're in Northern Utah whether you've got business in the Uintas or not. read more

2 for 3 The perfect drug store meal: burgers, fries and a shake. Hi-mountain excels at two of these. If they could get the third thing down, I would make the 2 hour trip every week. First, the burger is nearly perfect, and the buzz is warranted. Tasty, peppery, and with a well proportioned bun that did not get soggy. The shake truly WAS perfect. Thick enough for a spoon, but maintaining the creamy texture of a true shake (unlike most Utah joints that confuse the term, offering "above the rim" shakes as if there could even be such a thing). Sadly, the fries were not up to snuff. Extremely greasy and limp, not a single crisp fry in the bunch. No potato flavor, no texture, nothing of merit. Good fries are everywhere these days, so it's odd Hi-Mountain serves such crappy ones. After all, with better fries this would be the best soda fountain meal in Utah. read more

Always a stop on our summer motorcycle canyon cruises, Hi-Mountain always comes through! The shakes deserve 10/5 stars.. I have never had a better shake than the German chocolate shake. The burgers are a solid 4.5/5, and the rest of the food rests a little lower on the scale.. but still great! This place can get CRAZY on the weekends, and the younger staff here works as hard as any 16 year old based crew I've ever seen. The service can be a little disorganized, but with such a small place, and such high volume coming through, you can't blame em! Highly recommend stopping through! read more

Probably the worst service I've ever had. We ended up leaving after 30 minuets if waiting. A couple came in after us and got their orders taken, while we were sitting in the table right in front of them. We asked the waitress to take our order and she responded with "someone else will come". Spoiler alert, no one else came. This might be the best restaurant in Kamas, which isn't saying much. I am giving it two stars because I feel like it shouldn't have 4 stars on yelp and all these reviews are misleading. The burger was just decent, fries were ok, onion rings were so-so. Shakes are nothing out of the Utah ordinary. All pretty blah. The divey pseudo-pharmacy/country store would be endearing if the food was better and the restaurant was cleaner and less grimy. Maybe all the good reviews come from people who have been near starvation while camping in the uintahs. read more

Burgers are great, shakes are delicious...the problem is the service. I've been three times now (I can't pass up burgers and shakes after hiking) and the service has been average to bad. You have to stand awkwardly by the door and wait for someone to acknowledge you when you walk inside, and then hope you can get seated in a timely fashion. Then count on another lengthy wait for the food, which is the best part. On our last visit this weekend, we were seated right away but had at least three different servers walk past us multiple times without acknowledging us or taking our order, even thought it was quite clear that we were ready to order. We were almost ready to leave before someone came over, and then didn't receive friendly or prompt service. Not really the vibe I'm looking for when I want to support a local business in a small town. If I go back in the future, I'd probably just get a shake to go. read more

My sisters and dad each ordered different burgers and were very pleased. My mom and I ordered the cashew chicken salad (yes I was saving calories for my shake) and were let down. The price of the salad was around 10 dollars and the ingredients used were not worth the price. Though there were plenty of cashews, though the chicken was chunks of a breaded chicken patty and that is just one example. Now for the shakes!! AMAZING!! My mom got the maple bacon shake, my sister the banana cream pie, and I got the better than anything shake which had caramel, toffee bits, and chunks of homemade brownie's. The ice cream was creamy, not too thick or too runny, and the mix ins were chunks and not crumbs. I hate it when you order an oreo shake for example and it comes as oreo crumbs rather than oreo chunks. The brownies in the shake were soft and in bite size chunks. there was also plenty of mix ins. The selection of shakes to choose from is also great! There are so many to choose from!! read more

This place was a disgrace! it took about 10 minuets to clean off the table and seat us! in the beginning we ordered 3 chocolate milkshakes, onion rings, 2 orders of fried pickles, chili, a kids cheeseburger, and a kids chicken fingers. it took so long for our appetizers and milkshakes to come that we thought they forgot. once they came they had our onion rings but forgot about our fried pickles and milkshakes. it took about 45 minuets for our meal to come, and shortly after our meal came then came the fried pickles. the chili was good but there was only 2 chicken fingers for the order of chicken fingers. my daughter ordered a kids cheeseburger but got an adult one. she wasn't that hungry and didn't want all of the extra stuff on her burger so that's why she got the kids cheeseburger but the adult one came with tomatoes, onions etc. her bun was also drenched with mustard. after we finished our dinner and got our check the milkshakes finally arrived, they were the first thing we ordered! people that came after us and ordered after us got served before us. overall the food was pretty good but the service was the worst i've seen! i'm never going back. read more

We did a hike on bald mountain and ended up here for dinner. We arrived and waited a good 5 minutes to get seated, we finally just took seats at the bar. We decided what we wanted and watched about 25 milkshakes made, so about a half hour went by and no one took our order or asked us about drinks. We were getting ready to just walk out when we finally got our order taken. Our food took another 20 minutes, which I expected, everything is hand made. The food was great, hand cut fries, home made burgers, just great. We didn't order shakes because we didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. I so wanted to be in love with this place after hearing the great things, but the lack of customer service really got me. I understand they are busy and make everything fresh, but they could of at least acknowledged us. I feel I may be back to try a shake and change my mind. Great shakes and corn nuggets. That being said...the customer service is horrible. The girls are nice, but there is no organization to how they get orders out. We get there and place a to go order with 4 malts, 2 nuggets and 1 fries. We are taking a malt home to family, but they give us all of the malts 10 minutes after we order. We start eating our own, but the other is melting all over as we wait for the nuggets and fries. We finally ask for the malt to be remade as it is taking so long on the fried items. We wait another 10 minutes and they tell us they are just starting the nuggets. I decide it is taking too long and just pay for my malt without the fries, and the other malt is paid for. The nuggets come, but they haven't even started the other replacement malt so just the one malt and nuggets are paid for. As I am leaving the "chef" comes out with the "fresh, hot fries", but I tell him we paid for the shake but it took too long on the fries and we have to go. Instead of apologizing in any manner, he gets upset saying that we ordered fries and that it takes that long. As we walk away saying no thanks, he loudly says that next time we should let them know. NO, it does not take that long! People who came in after us and got seated had ordered and gotten their food and left! Time from order to partial food out the door? 40 minutes! I just felt sorry for the nice girl cashier girl who DID apologize and was trying to get things in order! read more

Loved it! I had the Aussie burger with a delicious fried egg on top and my boyfriend had the bbq backyard burger. We also got a side of fries, a side of fried pickles, and a raspberry fudge shake. They also had tons of cool homemade sauces for your fries, at no additional cost. 5/5 would come again on the way to mirror lake!!!!!! read more
