Still a 5-Star experience. The post fire remodel is really quite lovey. Same vibe, but updated to include an outside patio. My Manhattan was expertly crafted! No complaints about companion's old fashioned. Both of our steaks were very well prepared. All steaks come with a choice of salad and another side. The prices here are 30-40% less expensive than Madison or the Dells with outstanding service and quality. Save room for the carrot cake... or just get it anyway :)

The food is really good, full of flavors every meal is sooo good. The service is excellent the waiter was really nice and funny so we had a great time. The place is very peaceful and there are flowers every where to decorate the place. The tables and ground is very clean. I recommend this place so much.

We had a 4:45 reservation and arrived on time. We had a few minutes to get a drink at the bar before being seated. I had a Honeycrisp Old Fashioned and my husband had a brandy old fashioned sour. Both were very well made. Gina was our waitress when we were seated and she was phenomenal. We started with an order of cheese curds as required in Wisconsin . They were perfect and served with a delicious ranch dressing. I upgraded to the seasonal spinach and strawberry salad which had fresh strawberries, feta, candied walnuts and a light and not overly sweet strawberry vinaigrette. My husband's side salad came on mixed greens with a nice mix of veggies and croutons. Coming to a steak house, we both broke with the norm and ordered fish. He had pan-fried walleye with steak fries and I had the pecan-crusted salmon with a honey maple glaze and baked potato. We both cleared our plates! Our service was top notch as well as the food. Looking forward to our next trip back to the Hi Point Steakhouse.

Hi Point never disappoints; the food and service is always spectacular. By far the nicest restaurant I've been to in WI so far. Everything I've tried here is yummy and worth the price. Somehow Hi Point manages to make a southwestern vibe (think Wild West decor) feel fancy. Fancy without being pretentious, that is. I always try to go for the specials (usually 2-3 per night to choose from) such as their bacon mac & cheese topped with a lobster tail or their bone-in filet with a truffle sauce (so good). Sometimes they'll run out of the special if it's particularly popular, so don't get too set on one when you see the sign out front until the server let's you know what's available. When I don't get the special I'll usually get their Hi Point Special (rib eye) or Pheasant Puff Pastry. I have to try my best to stay away from their endless complimentary bread to save room for the actual meal and always fail because the bread is so good. They also make the best Brandy Old-Fashioned. Highly recommend trying one here. I've had a handful of different servers and they are all very attentive and friendly no matter how busy it gets. My water glass was never empty - this place is definitely a well-oiled machine. Make a reservation; even if it's the day-of, you can make one online before they open. You'll probably still have to wait 5-10 minutes for your table but you can hang at the bar or order drinks at the high tables until then. If you're looking for a nice dinner out with some really great food look no further.

Really enjoyed this traditional supper club in Ridgeway. Came without a reservation and waited about 90 minutes but it was fun to sit in the bar. Seemed to be just enough tables to accommodate the wait. People started ordering the frozen blended supper club drinks. When we got seated, dinner was great and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Steak was delish. Good garlic rolls and spinach salad. Husband got the bread pudding to go because we were full and he said it was great the next day.

The restaurant is fairly small, but cozy. The ambiance is very relaxed and social. It was a bit noisy but a good noisy, not obnoxious noisy; people having good conversations and lots of laughing. Our server greeted us in a timely manner and took our drink order. I ordered an old fashioned, my wife a Hugo spritz. Both were fantastic but just a heads up, the drinks were relatively strong. The menu is relatively small but still enough to choose from and not be disappointed. My wife and I both ordered the 5 oz filet with shrimp. We split a side of green beans. When our food reached our table, we thought that it might not be enough to fill us but we were more than full afterwards and agreed that anything bigger might be too much. The food was excellent, one of the better steaks I've had in a while. The service was good and our server, Sammy, did a real nice job of taking care of us without being overly intrusive. Prices were appropriate for the quality, maybe a little higher than you would expect but still worth it. If you're looking for a high quality, local small town steak experience that isn't a chain, I highly recommend Driftless Social.

They had great manhole lid sized cookies, and many other baked goods. The counter service area had a really neat art-deco line of lights and fixtures. There was a soda jerk who performed all sorts of amazing stunts with glasses and ice cubes. The bathroom was upstairs and the men's room had a giant urinal that was built into the wall with a tongue that stuck out at the bottom. I remember feeling very intimidated by this thing when I was 3 or 4, which is about when we started going there. The last time I visited before the conversion to whatever the f it is now was in 2017. I was hiding tears the whole time I was there. I was so happy to be there again. Naturally, I raced upstairs to check on the child-eating urinal. Sadly, it was boarded over. I bought the closest thing they had to a cowpie and headed out. I was pretty upset when I saw that my beautiful little restaurant had passed away. I will never forget how happy it made me feel.

The Supper Club Standard: A Night of Steaks and Levity at Jones' Black Angus…read moreOn the sprawling Highway 18 in Prairie du Chien, Jones' Black Angus stands as a stalwart of the Wisconsin supper club tradition--a place where the atmosphere is as thick as the cuts of beef and the hospitality feels like an invitation into a neighbor's dining room. The experience is anchored by a service staff that possesses that rare blend of professional precision and genuine personality. Our waitress, Grace, was the heartbeat of the evening. She navigated the floor with a warmth that felt entirely unscripted, providing a level of care that culminated in a particularly touching gesture: when one member of our party stepped away during the presentation of the dessert tray, Grace made a point of returning later to ensure he received the full, choreographed "view" of the nightly sweets. The culinary journey begins at the salad bar, which is--to put it simply--impeccable. In an era where many establishments have retired this particular ritual, Jones' maintains it with a freshness and variety that honors the tradition. However, the evening's primary entertainment came in the form of a recurring linguistic gag. When the soup of the day arrived--a dish that was, by all sensory accounts, a classic gumbo--Grace insisted with a wink that it was "jambalaya." The ensuing debate became the running joke of the night, a bit of shared levity that only a truly great server can cultivate. But the kitchen is not just about the sides and the stories. The filet was impeccable--perfectly seasoned, expertly seared, and possessing that melt-in-the-mouth quality that justifies the Black Angus name. My sincere compliments to the chef for a masterclass in steakhouse fundamentals. "A great steakhouse is about more than just the meat; it's about the memory of the meal." -- Unknown Jones' Black Angus is a reminder of why the supper club remains a beloved institution. Between the "jambalaya" jests, the meticulously curated salad bar, and a filet that commands respect, it is a destination that delivers both a full heart and a full plate. We arrived several minutes early out of respect to assure if they had an opening, we could be seated. Our seating was perfectly aligned with our reservation. We had a nice seat in a long room, with typical western regalia on the walls and ceilings. I should note the servers who were on the tall side were experts at tipping their heads to avoid the lighting. We started with an order of Flaming Saganaki (the sign does say GREEK Steak House) which arrived at the table sizzling, and created quite a large flame when it was lit up with a hearty OOOPA from the servers. It tasted as good as saganaki usually does of course. The salads came out, and were quite good. You have your choice of dressings, which were more than enough to cover the salad. I failed to mention the bread and butter, which while not pictured, were very good. The entrees came out - my wife had ordered the 20 ounce Prime Rib, and it was beautiful. I honestly had second thoughts about my Filet order her Prime Rib was so spectacular, and fortunately for me, she took pity on my eyes and gave me a few chunks to enjoy. The Filet Mignon was perfect. So tender, so juicy, and well-seasoned. I cut it in increasingly smaller pieces to enjoy it more. We really enjoyed our visit, and we believe you'd enjoy it too!
