This was a really enjoyable dining experience. Our server was very attentive. I loved the option of having both the barbecue and hotpot at once. We tried the tom yum broth (spicy and delicious) and the original (wonderful). In my opinion the tom yum would be VERY enjoyable for someone who enjoys samyang fire noodles but not for someone with gastro issues or a more mild palette. There was an excellent selection of seafood and marinated meats for the bbq. There is also noodles for making your own ramen. (My favorite was adding noodles to the tom yum broth) The desserts were more simple such as small prepackaged ice cream cups, little yellow cake, fruit, gelatin and some pudding. It wasn't too busy when we went on Sunday afternoon and the music was nice. I would have loved to see more desserts but overall was very pleased. I've been to Hi Pot multiple times and have always had an enjoyable time. It's a fun evening with family and friends.

What a fantastic place! Having moved from Southern California a couple years ago, I've been severely missing KBBQ, and this place completely filled that void. The proteins are plentiful, varied and delicious, the ambiance is nice and mellow, our server Stephanie (or Stefanie, unsure about the spelling haha) was very knowledgeable and kind. My only two things are I hope they expand their liquor to include soju at some point, as well as offer rice paper as an option for wrapping the food in. read more

This place was great ! It was so welcoming the moment you walk through the door. The waitress was wonderful and so helpful. I loved the food. I just wish the chicken on the stick was seasoned and maybe have more variety on deserts. But even without those, this place is great. I rarely give negative reviews and the service was so friendly, but for the cost I feel people need to see an honest review. It's meant to be an experience & we were well aware of the way the broth/grill system works. Unfortunately, they give you 1 tong & 1 pair of scissors we were told was to cut our meat. They also only have salt & pepper at the buffet - none on the table. Surely for $34/person they could allow salt & pepper on every table. You have to pour some in little dishes to take to your table. I did ask our server & she confirmed that's all they offer. The grill wasn't hot enough to actually sear the meat so our beef was grayish & the chicken never got darker than whitish. I had to cut it to ensure it was cooked. The broth was slightly flavored at best. The vegetable options were pretty limited & there were several empty spots on the buffets. The remodel looked nice and again the service was friendly. I just think it's not up to the standard I would expect for the price. During the week of 2/19/2024 went with daughter and family. We experienced stomach issues after eating at HiPot. Seems that some of the food could have been cross-contaminated or exposed to wrong temperatures. The Manager was also somewhat rude with my grandchildren during my visit. Got food here and it was such a fun experience! We had no idea what we were doing and did not ask the right questions. When we did the server was extremely helpful. We just didn't know what to ask. The place had a great vibe and we went at the right time to be able to enjoy it. Definitely look forward to coming here another time. read more

Finally! Myrtle beach has HOT POT AND KOREAN BBQ all in one spot! Out of all of the Korean places I've been elsewhere, this spot has the most variety of protein and veggies! It's clean, clearly labeled and a great variety of seasoned and un seasoned with 6 different soup bases to choose from. Highly recommend! read more

We've been to different korean bbq places before and it's always been so overwhelming having a menu with so many different options, so i enjoyed having the buffet style because i can visually see what i want over having to ask the server over and over again. First time being here. Nice spot, needs a few more renovations done. Tables are nicely set up, for small or big parties. We had a big party and it was set up very well. They start you with a soup of choice, this is like your broth, then the buffet. Is pretty much sides for you to cook in the (yakiniku?) grill. So you can make your own meal, Ramen, the choice is yours. Or just grill your own Chicken thighs, Ribeye, vegetables, etc. My only gripe is that the tongs they give you for the food were dirty, they brought out more pairs. Dirty as well. Other than that, service was nice. Just need to be a little quicker on the refills. I would recommend this place solely based on the food read more

So party of four went and never had had Korean bbq or hotpot before. We were so excited to try it and also to celebrate our daughter's 20th birthday ! We sat down and daughter and her friend went to bathroom. Waitress immediately asked us if we had ever been before and we said we had not. She said well, maybe wait until the girls get back from the bathroom so I can explain to everyone. But then she asked us what we wanted to drink. We let her know what we wanted and she immediately brought those drinks out. Meanwhile my husband went to the bathroom and the girls were back. Waitress came back while he was gone and decided to start asking us all what we wanted without my husband being there. We said hot pot and bbq. ($34) So she explained about the broths one of which was a spicy broth. We thought she said you could ask for different levels of spice and my daughter said she wanted light spice and I said medium for mine, the waitress looked at me and said "you did NOT listen to me, I explained you cannot get different types of spicy". My husband came and sat back down and heard the waitress snap at us and looked at us incredulously asking if she was being rude? She said "I answered these questions before and you did not understand, you must not have been listening the first time!" So I started to clarify again with her and she got very upset again, saying how we don't listen, and then explained that if we don't like the broth we only get one chance to change our mind otherwise we get charged, then she walked away. My husband promptly got up and said he's not paying $34 per person to be berated and yelled at by the waitress so we walked out. How sad that she didn't have the patience to try and explain or have someone else come over and explain if we weren't understanding something. My husband and I have both served/waited on tables for about 15 years between the two of us. Shocked at a newer restaurant having this poor of service, even if it was a bad day. read more

The service is very good. The ambience is pleasant and comfortable. The food is essentially as good as you craft it to be. You select what you want to grill on an electric grill and/or put in a soup pot. The selections of beef, pork, chicken, and seafood are quite extensive. There are also vegetables, noodles, and other interesting food items that you may grill. You can also make your own sauces for dipping. It somewhat expensive, but the amount of food available for the money is reasonable. If you try the Hi Pot, be sure to bring your creativity and your appetite. read more

I may be judging it from the real deal Korean BBQs but first the grill. It's electric, small and slow. I guess there was so much build up on the grills that parchment paper is needed for grilling now. The floor to the buffet was greasy and had a wet floor sign in place for over an hour, but it needed to be cleaned. It's an accident waiting to happen. The prepped Bulgogi meat quality was awful. It was very fatty, and the sauce tasted powdery and unlike any flavor I've ever had. There was better quality plain meats in the freezer. The ambiance was like a Ryan buffet, but I guess it's Myrtle Beach. Also, I'm not sure if rice is included in the price, but we never got any. Imagine that. First, the whole table must order the same order; either BBQ or Hot Pot. If one person wants the BBQ, all must get BBQ. If someone wants Hot Pot, all must get Hot Pot. The quality of the items varies widely. Some items are of high quality, some not so much. There is, however, a wide selection of items. Additionally, it is expensive in my opinion. $27.99 per person for the Hot Pot, $29.95 each person for the BBQ or if you want to be able to do both, all diners must pay $34.99. Lastly, The BBQ "grill" itself is a little small for 4 people and I would have liked it if the temperature was a little hotter. There were only 3 of us on our visit and we were "fighting" for grill space. It takes a little long to cook some items. We will not go back. read more

It was alright, not exactly what I was expecting, never been to a Korean barbecue restaurant. One of the things that I didn't like was they only give you one set of tongues to touch raw seafood and meats, then serve with the same utensil. if I go out, I like to have my meal cooked.
