I was looking for some KFC and found it! Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) that is. Crispy and delicious. I love the conveyor belt bar setup. All sorts of goodies passing you by. Just grab a few while you wait for your food... It was a pleasure coming here. I spoke with the owners and really enjoyed the conversation. Service was excellent just like the food. The Korean Fried Chicken with the spicy gochujang sauce (not really spicy but very flavorful) is awesome! I had it with a bowl of white rice. As a courtesy the owners let us sample some kimchi. The mild version. I guess they thought we couldn't handle the spice. They didn't know that I'm a SPICEmatician! Bring it on... I found out that they serve pork belly. Was craving some for over a month now. Will have to come back for that. Pause from reading this and set your GPS to this location to grab a bite to eat. I hate to report my disappointment :( I tried this place twice to give it a fair go, but both times I ended up feelings underwhelmed. I will say, the bibimbap is quite good and I was not disappointed in the flavor or quality of that dish, but my husband's pork katsu was so small and absent of meat that it looked like fried pork skin. See photo attached. I was drawn to Mura because I love Korean food, but also because of the conveyor belt. There were NO fresh foods on the conveyor belt....only a few prepackaged cookies or desserts. Super sad. The server was also extremely curt with us on both visits. My husband visited with me once and a friend the second time, both commenting on how little hospitality he showed. The environment is definitely not a bring your friends and chat place. There are only bar seats in front of the conveyor belt......with nothing on it. The final piece I'll add is the price for what you get is unreasonable. And I believe I may have been charged the wrong thing? I just left it alone, but it definitely was confusing. I ordered the stone bowl bibimbap which noted 12 plus 6 dollars for a fried egg. I assumed my total was 18 and it came to 22. No where on the menu does it differentiate between stone bowl and whatever the other cheaper option was. Not the biggest issue; if the food and service had been different I'd probably not have thought so much about it. When I brought up the difference to the server, he continued with his curt approach. I genuinely and wholeheartedly wish I could give this 0 stars. There is absolutely no way these good reviews are real. I'm convinced all the good reviews were either paid for or are from family members of the owner. Before I start, I just want to say that I personally feel for the server. There was only one server for the whole restaurant and he was balancing the food and the bar for the dinner service, which is wild in itself. Despite him having an attitude, I didn't let that bother me because I truly felt bad for him. I also want to mention that everything on the conveyor belt was dessert (chocopies, rice snacks, candies). This is not what was advertised. Where is the food?? What's the point of the conveyor belt if everything is made to order? Is it just there for funsies? I love the concept of a conveyor belt, which is why I came here in the first place. But it was completely useless. Now let's get on with the food... It's insulting to call this food Korean. The yoogaejang broth tasted like the broth you get when you make those $0.99 ramen packets from Walmart. It tasted SO CHEAP. And there were only two tiny pieces of meat in there. This was furthest thing from real yoogaejang. Let's move on to the beef ramen. As you can see in the picture, the beef ramen looks gunky and disgusting. Aside from how it looks, let's talk about the flavor. Tell me why the beef ramen broth tasted like shrimp?? That caught us all off guard. And the noodles were definitely ramen packet noodles. I don't know who they think they're fooling with those cheap noodles. That was ridiculous! THE TTEOKKBEOKKI OMGGGG How can you call that tteokkbeokki?? It had 0 flavor. It tasted like nothing. Where's the flavor?? It was so bland. The pickled radishes tasted so off, I can't even explain it... ANNDDDDD we had to wait 40 minutes for six wings. They claimed that another table took our wings, but I highly doubt that because we didn't see any other order of wings coming out of the kitchen. The kimchi radish and the gochujang wings were the only good things we had. Very sad. And to top it all off, they require an 18% gratuity...for what?? Stopped in here on a fluke because we had no idea if they were open, or open for lunch snyway. What a delightful experience! The food, the FLAVORS! Nothing g like it in Myrtle Beach as far as I'm concerned. Fresh ingredients prepared by Linda, the owner, makes all the difference. Korean food at its finest. Service was exceptional. The staff patiently helped us decide on dishes even though some were not familiar to our group of six. Our dishes exceeded expectation and were a delight to enjoy and share. This will be my first ever one star review for a Restaurant. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my 38 years of life. I have had other restaurants make mistakes, but any time that has ever happened in the past, the server or manager make up for it in some way. That did not happen tonight! First of all, this is false advertising because when you look this place up online, you expect a conveyer belt food delivery system. That is not the case as the only thing on the conveyer belt are wrapped snacks you could go buy at your local Asian grocery store. What a let down. That's the concept that brought us to drive there and have a meal. There are signs on the conveyer belt for the real food, but the food isn't there. Then, the server got an attitude with us when we didn't understand that food wouldn't be coming by on the belt. Second, the food is awful. It was bland, and honestly, I think some of it was instant food. My daughter's ramen smelled and tasted like shrimp even though it was supposed to be beef ramen. The noodles also looked and tastes like instant packets of ramen, and the cheap ones, not the good ones. My food was flavorless as well. The only decent food of the night was the Korean fried chicken, but there's a whole other story with that. First off, you get 3 wings with the Korean fried chicken. I'm not complaining about that because i know it's tapas. What I'm complaining about is the fact that after a half hour, I still didn't have any wings, and it was not busy when we came in. There were only 2 other people in there.. I'd eaten my other dish and had sat for 20 more minutes waiting. until we finally notified the server that we didn't have our wings. He said they were being made, but I know that was a lie. He went right back to the kitchen where I'm sure he told them they needed to make the wings because it took another 20-25 minutes to get them from there. During this time, the manager or owner came out asking everyone in the restaurant how their meal was. I referenced the wings taking almost an hour to come out, and she said that someone else took our food. First off, there's no food on the conveyer belt so would you please tell me how that happened? Second, that should come with an apology and some sort of apology and some form of making up for your mistake. But no, you did nothing. You lied because either 1: you never made the wings or 2: you hand delivered them to the wrong people. I'm convinced it's number 1 though because we watched food get delivered to everyone else while we were still waiting and we never saw anyone get wings, or say anything about receiving the wrong food. It wasn't busy. I'll finish up by saying I'm not one who expects handouts, but when you mess up at a restaurant and barely muster up a sorry after making excuses and lying, and do nothing to rectify the situation, I'm appalled. Paying 90 dollars for mediocre food, poor service, and lies told to our face had me on edge. I am a calm and patient person and I nearly reached a point where I was going to go off. There was also a huge part of me that wanted to just walk out and leave halfway through of experience here, without even paying. Of course I didn't because I know that's not right, but it's how I felt. On top of that they charge gratuity automatically so we couldn't even make our own decision to lesson our expense for the very poor service. Again, not something I would normally do as we are always great tippers, but that's just how bad the service was. The saddest part is, we were all still hungry after this meal and went and had another full meal at a different restaurant. The experience there was way better. Better food, better service, cheaper prices. Save yourself some time and NEVER go here. Everything about my experience at Mura was phenomenal MINUS the obnoxious woman who posted her review right before mine. I have never seen an older woman behave so rudely & throw that big of fit over a few dollars. She was complaining loudly, throwing her receipt & we wondered if they should call the police as she was beyond ridiculous. I felt so sorry for the business owners. If you are reading reviews let me assure you as a witness to disregard that one. Before she disagreed with the bill she had praised the food & loudly stated she'd be back for Wine Wednesday. He wasn't polite or inviting at all, made it seem like he wanted me to leave. Didn't offer a menu, just had a bad attitude in general. I am blown away by the food and service. First let's start with the incredible food. It's fresh ingredients clearly and wonderfully prepared. The bimibap, kalbi, bulgogi, kfc, and various pickled vegetables were AMAZING! 10/10. The service was warm, genuine, and attentive. The conveyer system is cool, and I am glad they are being cautious "rolling it out." What I mean by that is they are matching demand to what is on the conveyer. I would love to see this business continue to grow! We stopped by here a week and a half ago, and while they were unfortunately missing a fair number of items on the menu to try, I can only assume the newness of the restaurant definitely contributed to that. On the positive side of things, the owner was an absolutely attentive sweetheart. We went during the afternoon shortly after it opened, so it felt somewhat quiet for the size, but I have no doubt that once the nightlife hits the place is surely bustling! As for the food, there were some hit and some miss, but that was mostly to my own tastes and not specifically the fault of the restaurant! The honey soy wings were absolutely phenomenal, and the strawberry donuts were absolutely heavenly! The only recommendations I have is to maybe add a label to the dishes coming around on the conveyor, that way patrons know what they're grabbing, especially if drinks are on the menu! That way patrons can also review the menu to make sure the ingredients align with their tastes! The other one is to maybe review some of the prices. As delicious as the wings were, 8 dollars for three is a bit steep! I really hope we can stop by again in the future and see a thriving business still afloat! read more

The food here is amazing! Authentic and fresh. I had a stone bowl and will be dreaming about those flavors. Will be back to try the Kimchi fried rice, Bulgogi, grilled fish...... so many good choices. My husband had the pork belly and it was smoky and spicy. the side of pork fried rice was a great balance for the heat. They also have a juice bar with only fresh fruits and veggies and a full bar. It is in a great location on Farrow Parkway and there is ample parking. It has a nice atmosphere and attentive and friendly service. will definitely be back!!!! read more

First time in a long time that I've genuinely been disappointed with an experience dining out. Our food tasted like instant noodle packs. We also had two orders of wings that I asked the server about, since it had been about 30 minutes. He advised that they were coming- and about 15 minutes later, they arrived. I believe the owner came out and stated that the original order of wings had gone to the wrong table, however, I didn't see another order of wings go out (my table was watching). TLDR; honestly come in and try it for yourself, mediocre food and poor service in my experience. I came in on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Expecting to have a pleasant experience based off what others have been saying about Mura, and especially the reviews left by others online, I was severely disappointed. Immediately, we were sat down along the counter-style conveyor belt and greeted harshly by the lone gentleman acting as a server and a host in the restaurant. We were handed menus and when the server came over to take our order, we were met with "we're all out of ____" or "no more ____ today" with a blank stare when trying to order 5+ items off the menu. Not a big deal; however, this really should have been our first red flag for my party to get up and go somewhere else. Some issues I have to note with the food we received: the soondoobu ($14) was quaint and had the looming smell of cheese which may be the result of bad or rotten tofu in my experience (may be a fault on my end, I'll give the benefit of the doubt), the bulgogi lettuce wraps ($8) were chalky and left a dry sensation, the soy-garlic chicken wings ($9) were flavorful but were also very tiny (about 2/3 the size of a BIC lighter for context). We also had two sides of rice and one side of kimchi for a total cost of $16 for the rice/kimchi alone, you can do the margin math there. I understand the rising costs of food and service as my own family is in the same business, but $8 for a small bowl of kimchi is a little wild. I've heard through the grapevine that the quality and experience are SUPERB when the owner, Linda, is around. Unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure of having her present. I would recommend trying to see how it is with her around, I really have only heard great things when she's in (!!!). It's super important to note that I am Korean myself and have lived in the DC area as well as LA, so I am super spoiled with great Korean food, but I just do not think the food or service met any of the expectations I had set in my head when coming here. The vibe of the restaurant is very cool, and the restrooms were spotless and clean. There is also a pretty neat karaoke set-up and a FULL bar (but I didn't dare to ask the gentleman for a drink because he made it feel like I/we were an inconvenience being there...) I hate to put a debbie-downer review on a local business, but I was severely let-down by my experience at Mura. The concept of the business is really cool and I think there is a ton of potential especially with the fantastic location and growing community of Market Common. I really do wish Linda and her team the best, but I am undecided in my return to Mura. Myrtle Beach really does need a great Korean spot and I think Mura could be it one day, it just was not this day. read more

Great experience and food at Mura, "Let's Eat". The owners, Linda and Bradley did a fantastic job showing us different items on the menu and explaining how everything worked for a couple of newbies. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was excellent! They both took the time out of their busy night to introduce themselves and get to know us. The KFC had a great homemade sauce and the bibimbap paired with a few soju cocktails were excellent! We also had to try the croissant donuts with caramel sauce at the end, which didn't disappoint. Wish I could give a better review rating because the staff were so nice, but honesty must prevail. The problem with this Korean restaurant is all other Korean restaurants; Others had already spoiled us before sitting down at the Mura. Specifically, the portions, the portions, the portions. The portions were probably half what we're used to for the same price. My son's pork fried rice was served in a cereal bowl. There was no appetizer tray brought to you while you wait, and for the first time in my life I had to ask for a small portion of kimchi to compliment my bulgogi order ( a few marinated slices of beef placed in a leaf of lettuce). There are no tables or booths, you sit an "H" shaped bar with the conveyor belt running in front of you. There's very little room to spread out your meal, but that was not a problem because there's not much of a meal to spread. The color-coded plate menu is also a bit confusing. That being said, the kimbap was very good and the food cooked very well. If they'd do away with conveyor belt, put in some tables and keep a small traditional bar, I think this would be a hit. The staff certainly have the positive attitude and cooking skills to be a success. Still worth a look as is however, all opinions differ. read more

I want to start by saying that the couple who runs this restaurant are super nice and engaging hosts. My family and I had a wonderful time chatting with them while we waited for the food and even during the meal. I'm rooting for this restaurant as they complete their first full year of operation. Now to the atmosphere and the food. The large windows and the conveyer belt give the restaurant an airy and modern feel. We went during a slow period (around Christmas), so the place was not very busy, but it was clean and comfortable. The conveyer belt foods tended to be shelf-stable items like Korean snacks (e.g., Choco Pie). I imagine the owners put fresher foods on the belt during busier times. We had a variety of Korean dishes, including dolsot bibimbap, Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, and spicy beef stew. My in-laws and my wife are Korean-American, and all of us were eager to try Mura's version of classic Korean dishes. The biggest hits were the dolsot bibimbap and the fried chicken, as they hewed toward traditional flavors and ingredients. The tteokbokki was delicious in its own way, but was a bit soupy for our tastes. The spicy beef stew, while having potential, tasted too much like fry oil (e.g., oil in which you would fry chicken). I would easily boost my rating to 5 stars if they perfected certain dishes. Overall, this restaurant is a welcome addition to the community. I hope there are enough locals who either know Korean food or who are curious to try it. The proprietors are deeply passionate about providing good food and a good experience. If you want it mild you can have it mild, if you want it spicy you can order it spicy, they will make it how you want it! The kids menu is great too and our child enjoyed the chicken fingers & fries and said they were the best too! A nice guy at the expensive sneaker store (Cecil?) suggested we try MURA. Wife likes Korean BBQ so we tried it. Who doesn't love Bulgogi?! Bradley greeted us warmly and gave us the run down on the conveyor style service thing. He was very cool. I got the special, the "Foko Loco". It was prime patty over rice and gravy, with fried egg on top. Wife got Ramen bowl with beef. Kid got the wings, soy garlic ( four wings, $9.00 ). We also ordered the pickles. The pickles offset the richness of the foko loko gravy, like using ginger. The foko loco was frickin' awesome. Wife enjoyed soup but said it had a slight fish smell, but it didnt affect the taste. (I did not understand this statement). Son DESTROYED the four wings (think, Tapas style dining), and proceeded to yank a cheese cake off the conveyor, eat half, then drink my wife's broth and any remaining noodles. If I were the owner, I'd add lowered drop ceilings, darken the interior, and skip on the house music they had playing. It was nice and fun! I drank a Tsingtao. Always good. Never go here again! Very rude owner/manager. Total rip off by up charging you for food items without letting you know and misleading coupons. This is a conveyor belt restaurant so they are supposed to serve you behind the counter and place your food on a conveyor belt. Wasn't busy so just handed me the food over the counter, not on the moving conveyer belt. Not the same experience! But it gets worse. Automatically add 20% gratuity on all checks even though I had a coupon that said 18% gratuity will be added. The menu pricing is color coded, yellow items $4 (rice), green $7 and the most expensive items on the menu is $14 for black items. I asked for bulgogi and wanted it spicy. The lady suggested the spicy pork bulgogi. I also ordered the "spicy" beef soup. The lady then suggested rice for the bulgogi and I said fine. The bulgogi wasn't spicy and very rubbery. The portion was a lot less than the picture online. The soup had just a hint of spiciness. Very disappointed, better in Northern VA. I got to go boxes, but not the check which took another 15 minutes even though there was only one other couple. I finally got my check and saw that the bulgogi was $18. When questioned the menu stating the most expensive item was $14 the owner/manager gruffly stated it was the special so it was a higher price. Although I would have probably gotten it anyway, I should have been told of the higher amount. I had an Attractions book coupon which stated buy one menu item and get the lesser item free so I expected the $14 soup would come off the bill. The man gave me back the new bill and I questioned why the soup wasn't taken off. The man stated that he took off the $4 rice, which was the lesser item . I told him that the rice was just a side which the lady suggested and not an entree and I never had just a side dish be removed. The man loudly and rudely said "I know what the coupon says I made it up!" I then said that was deceiving and if he didn't take off an entree , I would let people know about how misleading he was. The man responded that he didn't care about my review. Three of us went here for a good Thursday night dinner. It is a Tapas style menu and we tried as many as we could eat. We enjoyed every dish we tried, they were all great. Bibimbap was one of the favorites, as well as both flavors of the wings. We will go back to try some other items we just could not find the room for. It is a really neat concept as well.
