I have been searching and searching for a hibachi place close to me and thanks to Yelp reviews I stumbled upon Hibachi 88. I have now been here twice and I have found the food very delicious and the staff very friendly. Both times I have gotten the hibachi chicken and it has been nicely cut and the veggies are perfectly cooked. The service does seem to take a little while but I have dined in so I am not in a rush. My only recommendation would be to have unlimited sauces (you get two with your meal for free and then have to pay for additional) for dine in customers. What can I say, I like my sauce and I like both white and ginger! They do have a rewards card and you can get an extra stamp when you pay with cash so I always make it a point to have some to pay that way. They have the best rice I've ever had at a fast/casual Asian place. The vegatables are cooked to perfection and the meat is quality. I love the white/yum yum sauce and from overhearing others order, it's loved by most guests. The portions are large enough to split a plate with my hubby or have leftovers (but I sometimes have a plate to myself anyway). The price point, especially considering the large portion sizes, is beyond fair and even cheap. Delicious, giant plates of food for cheap? I know it sounds too good to be true, but it is! Staff is very friendly and quick. The restaurant is always clean. I eat here about 1x a week and it's always on point. I didn't expect to love this place the first time I went but it's truly a favorite. There are so many forgettable hibachi takeout places, but this is one to be remembered and revisited. read more

I chose this place based on good Yelp reviews and decent proximity to my house. I ordered by phone - 2 hibachi chicken plates to start with... She seemed very confused by this, asked a lot of questions i couldn't understand because she was so soft spoken, and asked me if I wanted vegetables with my hibachi. I was confused my this, as hibachi always comes with veggies... so to make sure I asked what veggies it comes with and confirmed, yes I want ALL of the veggies. She gave me a total before I was done ordering and I said no I also want 2 spring rolls. She again seemed confused but we got it established. She gave me a total but no order number or anything. I showed up 15 mins later and I just barely found a place to park in their dimly lit, trashed and broken parking lot. There are a lot of other businesses there. I waked in and actually felt the need to look for their sanitation rating (which was fine at 95). The cashier seemed to be still working on a previous transaction and had me waiting without any eye contact for a while. Finally she said hi and I had to describe what I had ordered on the phone and she was again very quiet and hard to hear... it sounded like she named off way more items than I asked for on the phone, as well as stating a bigger total than I was given on the phone. I heard the words "with no vegetables" and "honey sesame chicken" to which I replied "I didn't order sesame chicken, just 2 hibachi plates and spring rolls" So she asked for my phone number and said these items (in 2 different bags) were all called in by my number. I said "no I only asked for 2 standard hibachi chicken plates with the vegetables just how they come." And she went digging through all the to-go bags at the counter, looked at the computer several times, did some more digging, and picked one of the original 2 and put it up on the counter saying "ok this is it". I asked if it had veggies and she said yes but I wasn't too confident in her so while she continued to be confused by the computer, I checked behind her (it did) well she hands me a tablet that was on a screen asking for a tip, so after I submitted one for some reason, it said order complete and I gave it back. She never said anything like "thank you have a nice day", or "ok you're set" or maybe even "ok go away now" so there I was standing around waiting for a receipt or at least verbal confirmation and maybe an offer for some chopsticks and other useful things that were over the counter but not already in my bag. A manager asked if he could help me and I told him I was waiting for a receipt. He said the option for text or email was on the tablet. I told him I never saw it but I paid with a card... and he argued, insisted the menu had been there (she must have skipped that screen before handing it to me), and wouldn't offer any resolutions like printing or writing one. I'm not even sure what I was truly charged. So I said fine I guess I don't get one then and got a bit snappy with him as I finally reached OVER their counter to collect the chopsticks, napkins, and soy sauce I wanted. I was getting ready to tell them "this was my first time here and I absolutely will not be back" and I won't. The place in Knightdale, Hibachi K Express is way way better. When I got home with my food I found that there were 2 measly slices of carrot neatly placed it the corner, 2 slivers of zucchini, and about 5 of the smallest little broccoli florets. The rest was a ton of onions and rice with the chicken on top. The chicken was poor quality, many chunks were all fat or cartilage and o fed them to my dog. Greasiest spring rolls I've ever had, and not one bit of flavor in them. Again. I will never return. You cannot pay me to try this place again. Nearly ruined my day. read more

Excellent food and service. We eat here almost weekly. The miso soup is one of my favorites. We are not big sushi eaters but we do like some of the sushi items on the menu here. Quiet restaurant tucked away in the corner of the shopping center. read more

This place has the best hibachi in Raleigh. By far the best white sauce around. It is a little pricey, however, the portions are large. I recommend getting take out because the vibe of the restaurant is weird but man is there food good. 10/10 would recommend. read more

This is a great hibachi place. Cooked fresh & fast. I've gotten the hibachi steak w/ salad every time i've eaten here. It comes with a mixed assortment of fresh veggies and rice. The ginger dressing is wonderful as well as the white sauce & ginger dipping sauce. Tons of food too. I always have to ask for a to-go box. I've only been at lunch but I think the price is right for what you get. I would definitley give it a try. read more

This place has very good hibachi food and at a pretty cheap price. I'm very picky about the white sauce at some hibachi places and the overall flavoring of the food but I have to so say I was very impressed with this place! It's kinda in a sketchy area but it's very clean and nice on the inside! Definitely recommend! I got the hibachi shrimp and it was $7.88. read more

The food here is decent but there are some other issues going on at this place. First, I called to place my order ahead of time and she immediately placed me on hold. What is the point of asking a caller if they can wait if you don't bother to wait for their response? I spent a couple minutes on hold and the lady finally came back and mumbled something barely coherent. I drove to pick up my order. This was a Saturday evening and the dining room was a mess. It wasn't super busy so there is no excuse for trash to be on the floor and tables. And the kicker was the owners children were in the eating area which in and of itself is not an issue. The problem is that one of the children did not have pants on. She couldn't have been more than three. Yep... just chilling with no pants and shoes... another was sprawled on the floor coloring. Listen... I like kids but I have my limits and that is simply not professional. Plus this place is not in the best neighborhood. And I can talk because I live in the area. So avoid dining in. Get your food and leave quickly. Don't expect good service. read more

After reading the other reviews I had high expectations for this restaurant, and that's probably why I came up with three stars. The food was good, as was the price. I went for the shrimp & chicken combination and was more than satisfied. Issues I have are with the cleanliness and overall dining space. It feels like you're eating in your parent's basement. Drink station was a mess, and we had to wipe the table off ourselves as there was not a clean one in sight. In the future I'll be ordering take out from here, and that would make the experience more enjoyable. read more

If this rating were for a hibachi express category (fast food hibachi), I'd give it a 4...but this is an express style hibachi so it gets 3, maybe 2.5 in comparison to traditional hibachi cook-in-front of you style with sushi... The food was solid...hibachi chicken and shrimp was very good. White sauce is what white sauce is supposed to be. They have buy 1 get 1 1/2 off sushi rolls, but they don't have many options for sushi...I got the red dragon and the Snow White...the red dragon was pretty good, the Snow White was bad. The crab did not taste right. My wife and kids got hibachi chicken and hibachi chicken and shrimp and really liked it. So, if you want some good hibachi quick, this place is an excellent option. They don't cook in front of you though and I just don't recommend the crab in the sushi. They also have a 98.0 sanitary rating, which is better than many quick hibachi places I've been. read more

I happened to be in the area for the meeting. One of my staff was in mood for Asian foods. I googled and this restaurant was the first thing to show up on the searching list. The foods were great and they had a good number of people coming to take out or dine in. I ordered shrimp and vegetables on rice. Served with shrimp sauce. Yummy. read more

Went to lunch with co-worker today at 1:16. Maybe 6 people in the place, gave our orders. 30 minutes later finally received one meal, five minutes later two more arrived, five more minutes later mine finally arrived. By then we had have everything to-go, can't say if the food was good, because it was cold when we got back to work. Have ate there before and it was good, not sure what went wrong this time. It's not in the safest of locations, but the food is too good to pass up, so I order take out. The portion sizes are generous, and the food is always delicious with great flavor and never overcooked. This is my go-to spot for cheap hibachi food. I just wish they still served sushi so I could get wasabi to go with my food. read more

After eating there on April 9, 2016 i noticed a distinct taste with the food but i attributed it to a change in the recipe. About 40 minutes later I experienced vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps and ended up at the hospital and had to stayed over night. Doctors attributed this to food poison.
