a close up of a plate of food

We chose to come because we were craving some Chinese buffet. The reviews online weren't attractive but since this is the only big buffet around the area we decided to give it a go with pretty low expectations. We came pretty late at around 8 pm (they close at 10) on MLK day. There was a sign that said that even if it was a Monday, they'll be charging a holiday price. It's not that much of a difference: regular $15.99, weekends/holidays $16.99. When we went inside there was someone to attend to us immediately and we got our table right away. The interior is very dark. There were very little lights on inside except for the warmer lights for the food counters. We were sat by the windows and requested to sit somewhere away from the big glass windows because it was very cold outside. They happily obliged and told us we can sit pretty much anywhere, which was still cold but it worked. I started with the grill. There wasn't much options but they were decent. The proteins were chicken, beef, imitation crab, shrimp, and there were a bit of vegetables if you choose not to eat fish or meats. I'll say that if you have allergies or strict dietary restrictions, do not go to the grill area. The grill cross-contaminate and they cook everything in one spot. Multiple people's dishes at once. There were options for sauce like teriyaki sauce, garlic, etc. I left it to the cook to choose my sauces and mine tasted decent. 8/10 I got a spicy tuna sushi and some other proteins like salmon. I saw that they were still refilling the sushi bar at that hour. The sushi was bland and the rice was cold. The salmon had no taste, just a lot of salt. I found that majority of the food was heavily salted but had very little flavour, which indicates that they are not fresh. I am giving a fair rate of 5/10 for the hot foods because it was an hour before closing and they might have had only the leftovers left on the counters, but the sushi was a solid 2/10 because they just did not have any taste and it was cold. The ice cream was also pretty much out so I didn't get to taste as much. It was pretty hard to get them out of the buckets. I wish it was replaced more regularly. The ice cream counter smelled like strong bleach though for some reason. The whole time we were dining, the servers were timely in taking our plates away and served us with a smile. Water was served quickly. Everyone was pleasant. By the time we wanted to pay, they didn't ask for a tip at the counter so we gave them cash directly. 10/10 service. The bathrooms were very clean, it smelled like bleach from the door to the stalls, and the floors looked like they were recently mopped. Just a tip, maybe go light on the bleach because the bleach smell was very strong. Otherwise very clean and tidy. Overall if I came back it would be for the grill and service.

Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet touts itself as the largest restaurant in the East Providence area. They have a wide selection of favorite foods including Chinese, Japanese, American, Italian and Mexican items on their supreme buffet. There is something for everyone. Their main feature is the Hibachi Style Grill. Customers can select their own meats and vegetables and have it cooked by a professional Hibachi chef while watching their meal be prepared right in front of them. My plate was overly salty. I asked the cook to use garlic and soy sauce, lightly....the resulting combination was so salty, I had to add white rice to my plate to tone it down. Every day they offer over 150 items on their buffet bar to include all of your traditional Chinese dishes and a few specialty items such as Hibachi Chicken, Beef Tenderloin & Italian Shrimp. Available on their dinner buffet is prime choice ribeye steak. For those individuals that are vegetarian there is a large salad buffet with fresh vegetables, many toppings and a wide variety of dressings including a special ranch dressing that is made fresh daily. If you're looking for sushi, Hibachi Grill offers daily a sushi bar with a selection of freshly prepared sushi. I tried three varieties and they were below average. None of them had a name tag, so you really don't know what type of sushi you are eating. Not a place for sushi lovers... They also have several kid friendly food items, such as pizza, mashed potatoes and homemade yeast rolls. The dessert buffet is filled with a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries and cookies. In addition to the dessert bar, is a large ice cream buffet with 8 different flavors to choose from. These ones you scoop yourself with an ice cream scoop....not single serve portions like other places. Overall, there were a few things that I liked ok, like the beef ribs, chicken wings, soups, fried plantains, vegetable fried rice, clams, boneless chicken, orange chicken, General Tso's chicken.....some things I would not get again were the sushi and the hibachi, the chicken on a stick, the boiled pollock, and the broccoli chicken ( very salty). Staff is friendly and prompt taking the dirty dishes away. Plenty of parking in the large lot.

Wasn't bad but wasn't great, some of the foods tasted a little rubbery especially seafood wise, the crispy chicken finger I got was mushy on the inside and looked under cooked. Most of the other foods were really good. Crawfish, most deserts, Honey Chicken, Lo mein, and Crab Rangoon were pretty amazand service was good but the sodas were warm. Got ice to fix that and it ended up just making it lose the fizz.. honestly it's more of a know what to get kinda thing. The vibe and tables are pretty nice.

I feel like this place has been here all my life! Ever since elementary school I've been coming here loading my plate. This buffet has a variety of food for an extremely cheap price. It taste like the chicken is from a package and frozen now which is disappointing. The honey chicken is the best one there. The crab rangoons are also pretty good but tiny. One of the nice parts about this buffet is they have a desert and ice cream section which always a plus. They even have military discount which surprises me since the price was already unbelievably low. I come here every so often and will do always do as long as they're open.

$14 with a Coke take out during Covid.

I have to update my review with covid updates. I have been avoiding restaurants but I had the overwhelming curiosity to see how they were doing. I was greeted and directed to the takeout boxes. The hostess said only take out. No all you can eat. They had 3 half steam tables going. Not much to choose from. People were making their own dishes. No servers. No supervision. I thought they should make people wash their hands or wear gloves or they should serve them. NoVVWV1B1FW1G0WG1S0 A. I walked to the register and paid $14 for my food. $5 more than all you can eat. I got in the car to eat and food was cold. I got my second covid vaccine a couple days before but I was very uncomfortable with the people all handling the same serving utensils, and the food being cold.

Inside, looking up.

Since you'll be approaching a buffet, I proudly present my review in easy-to-follow bulleted style - perfect for buffet browsing! The Wins _ The $9.99 for lunch price tag! _ the great service _ the nice, dimly lit interiors _ friend plantains/bananas _ bok choy _ chicken & broccoli _ crab rangoons _ black raspberry ice cream (dare I say, some of the best I've had in New England) _ tea Pass On The... _ spring rolls (only meh) _ honey chicken (srsly blah) _ chicken teriyaki (dry) Enjoy!

My turn to drive so off I went with no direction and a hangry passenger.. soooo here we are. The place was clean when we walked in which is imortant. My rating was based on other buffets in the area and the consistency in quality. I started with my favorite appetizers.. The mini clams are covered in a rich soy flavored sauce and come right out the shell with chop-sticks. I then make my specialty hot n' sour soup.. which I add a wonton (from the wonton soup) and then take the fried shrimp and add them (after I take the shell off) . The mini egg roll was hot and fresh. The wings were juicy and crispy. The dumplings are delicious and I love to put them in a bowl with their dipping sauce so I can dunk things in the extra sauce (like my egg roll). The ribs on the bone were tender with and the basted-on bbq sauce was bursting with flavor. The next round was from the hibachi grill. I love my veggies so I had to do a medley tossed in a garlic teriyaki sauce (bean sprouts, broccoli, carrots, celery, jalapeños, onions, pineapples, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, zucchini) What is not pictured is the other plates off food I ate out of denial that I said I WAS NOT going to overeat

So, on a rainy, dreary evening, I decided to give it another try. What a difference! Walking in, first impression: very clean & surprisingly busy for such miserable weather - always a reassuring sign for a buffet. The sushi selection was solid for a buffet. While we skipped the hibachi grill this time, it looked like a fun option for the next visit. The buffet was consistently replenished, everything we tried was hot & fresh. Standouts for me? The baby Asian clams, crispy chicken nuggets (don't judge!) & perfectly snackable crab rangoon. I also loved that the desserts were cut into small portions so you could sample a bunch without overcommitting. Bonus: individual ice cream cups in a bunch of flavors. Overall, we had a great dinner, used our $3 off coupons & will definitely be back! NOM NOM NOM #YUM

First off I asked for a booth and the guy brings us to a child size booth with barely any room for two people to eat comfortably...Strike one, and the place wasn't even busy and he walked us by a couple of full size empty booths. We went up to get raw chicken and shrimp to have it stir fried with some vegetables. While waiting we walked around the buffet self serving tables only to see that the Crab Rangoons were all stuck together and the size of quarters, they looked like they had been reheated over time and not very appealing... I then found what was supposedly coconut shrimp drenched in a sugary white heavy cream sauce that didn't have any sign of coconut at all on them...The shrimp were tiny and barely noticeable in what looked like a white pudding...I tried this out and didn't care for it at all, way too sweet and nothing like I remembered it use to taste like. My wife couldn't find any snap beans or many vegetables where they once were (remembering the past) nope, instead they served squid rings, crawfish, mini crabs that looked too small to be sold and giant crab legs which we both took a hard pass on... The only chicken I seen was General chicken that was all fused together like it had been reheated and over saturated with their sugary sauce...The barbecue spare ribs had a chewy texture and almost tasted like it was raw, way too chewy for me and I didn't finish it on my plate. The stir fry was heated and cooled really fast! I noticed the pineapple that I added to the raw chicken and raw shrimp wasn't even cooked through and still hard... Overall the meal was pretty bad, nothing like it use to me that I remembered, the soda was barely carbonated and after two sips from the straw it was left untouched... We were there for approximately 15 minutes after getting our food and I asked for the Bill so we could leave... The waitress handed me the check, it was $48. for two dinners and two sodas. They also added on the bottom of the bill a tip percentage for 5% 10% and 15%...I gave the waitress a $50. Bill and told her to keep the change...She gave me a weird look after that... My wife and I left the restaurant hungry and I swore to her I'd never return to this restaurant ever again even if it were the only restaurant in the country. The service was terrible, the food was even worse than I thought it would ever get and the overall experience was horrible because the price didn't reflect a better quality... There are other Chinese restaurants to choose and I'd rather eat elsewhere than this dump

Somehow, every time I've come here, the experience has been excellent. I honestly cannot remember a single bad meal. This isn't a place I visit every week or even every month. It's more of a special occasion destination every few months. Part of the reason is that every visit turns into an event. We always go for the full experience, and by the time we leave, we're completely stuffed, happy, and already talking about when we'll come back. The quality of the food is outstanding. Everything arrives hot, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Whether it's one of the signature cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, pork, or something from the Market Table, I've yet to find an item that disappointed me. Usually, by the end of the meal, I've lost track of how many different things I've tried because I'm too busy enjoying all of it. One thing that always makes me laugh is the famous red and green card system. In theory, you flip the card to green when you want more food and red when you need a break. In reality, after a few visits, the staff seems to remember what you like. I've had servers and gauchos walk by with cuts they know I enjoy and offer them before I even have a chance to flip the card. That's not a complaint. It's actually one of the reasons the experience feels so personal. The service deserves just as much praise as the food. From the moment you walk through the door, you're welcomed warmly. Throughout the meal, someone is always checking to make sure you're enjoying yourself, asking if you need anything, and making sure the experience lives up to expectations. It never feels forced or scripted. The staff genuinely seems to care that you're having a great time. We usually arrive around 5:00 or 5:30, before the dinner rush really gets going. That timing has always worked well for us and allows for a relaxed, enjoyable meal without feeling crowded or rushed. Fogo de Chão isn't inexpensive, but that's because you're getting an experience, not just a meal. Between the quality of the food, the attention from the staff, and the overall atmosphere, I've always felt like I got my money's worth. At this point, if someone asks me where to go in Providence for a memorable dinner, Fogo de Chão is always near the top of my list. Fantastic food, exceptional service, and a level of consistency that is surprisingly rare these days. Five stars without hesitation.
