    Street Corn Ribs
    Mary K.

We walked over here for lunch after visiting the Hope Street Farmers Market. We weren't exactly sure what to expect but had seen this pop up a few times on Yelp saying - come eat here, lol. When we walked in, it was empty - saw that we had to order at the counter, find a seat and the food would be brought out. I had seen numerous reviews praising the corn ribs, so we ordered that along with the chicken empanadas, chicken sando and the beef bulgogi cheesesteak. The corn was good but not as good as I was hoping they would be. The mister enjoyed the beef bulgogi sammy - the chicken was cooked nicely but was missing that oomph. My favorite thing were the empanadas. There is a self service water station. Service was quick and friendly, place was airy and welcoming. We won't rush back but if in the area would like to try other options.

Rating:4.3 Came to try this new restaurant on hope street right next to three sisters where they used to offer food items. When we got there it was empty as the place just had opened. We parked right in front of the restaurant on street parking. Inside is small and cozy with few seatings with some decors, tv and background music. We placed an order and sat down. We ordered curry croquettes, dan dan noodle, hibiscus punch, and pineapple mabi. Curry croquettes were pretty good. Freshly fried, crunchy on outside and hot and savory. The hibiscus punch was refreshing. We were not a fan on pineapple mabi. Dandan noodle had a great flavor, hint of spice and savoriness. I did wish that the noodles were a bit more firm as they were a bit overcooked and soft. The service was good. There was only one staff so it may be a long wait if the place gets busy. Overall the place was pretty good. Price can be a bit expensive for some item. Food was solid and service was good as long as the place is not busy. I would come back to try other things on the menu like their sandwich.

I was researching some places that had sandwiches for lunch today and I'm thrilled I came across this place and was able to give it a try! Parking is tough but you should be able to find street parking without a long walk. I knew the restaurant was small and was worried we'd have trouble finding a seat because of that. However, we were the only customers in there for a solid 10 minutes when we first arrived. The restaurant itself was adorable! Small but nicely decorated and furnished. I appreciated the stars on the ceiling. The staff were friendly and gave us as much time as we needed with the menu before we ordered at the counter. I had the chicken empanadas and the shrimp poboy. The food came out quickly and was piping hot and fresh. The empanadas were excellent. Great flavor and tasted high quality. I found them to be a little oily but that wasn't anything a napkin couldn't fix. The shrimp was cooked well and I liked the sauce it came with. Their bread was also super soft and tasted freshly baked. Definitely something I'd consider ordering again! Overall, I'd definitely come back to the White Owl and would love to check out more things on the menu.

This restaurant is new and right next to three sisters. This place use to be connected to them, but I guess they sold this half and converted to a new shop. It's very cute! It's clean, and green. Dan Dan noodles were flavorful! Don't forget to mis the fish before eating because you really need to get all those flavors in. The curry croquette were delicious! I shared it with my partner because it was two pieces were on the plate. Our drinks were interesting. We ordered the two non alcoholic options. Honestly should have just gotten the soft drinks. We got the hibiscus drink and the pineapple mobi. It was very surprising and too bitter and tasted like an alcoholic drink with no alcohol. We didn't even finish it. Seems like this place has cute specials like thirsty Thursdays, self service for utensils and first come first serve seating. At the counter they have a special to win a $25 for a select restaurant list as promotion. The staff was only one women, and she didn't a great job being prompt, greeting, and providing us our meals on time with little wait. I would definitely go back because it feels casual and cute location and near my workplace. The curry croquette are a MUST and serve is very comfortable. All I need to do is figure out if they have wifi~ because this feels like a perfect place for lunch and cute to sit and work a bit during pre-lunch to lunch hours.

Finally tried White Owl and the food did not disappoint. Went on a rainy Wednesday and we were the only people there. Was confused about whether we needed to order at the counter or get table service and it was a hybrid (order at the counter but food is brought to you). Had the corn ribs served with queso fresco and chipotle cream and a chicken sandwich served with waffle fries and spicy pickles. My friend got the birria sandwich and it looked similar to a French dip. Everything tasted good and was freshly prepared. Would probably just get takeout next time.

My experience here has always been great whenever I visit. Been here twice, and it is a tiny spot with maybe 2 people working here at a time, so be patient and you'll be rewarded with deliciousness! Despite this, food comes out super quickly. Have tried one of their sandos and their dandan noodles and both were super flavorful. They also serve brunch, which I haven't tried yet but I'm sure it's also great. They're also next door to this awesome ice cream place, so grabbing dessert after a great meal here is easy.

Located conveniently across from the green on hope street, and next door to three sisters, another favorite! There is on street parking, in front of the building, but if you fancy a walk, you can park somewhere down on the green and walk on over. Quite a bit of seating, and a bathroom you can use. You have to scan the QR code and order at the front for food and drinks Got the Caribbean crab cakes, very good, loved the sweetness of the mango sauce! Also got a soy mushroom burger, with a side of nicely dressed salad. This is our second time here, and will probably visit again! I

Luckily we did make reservation for early dinner so we were able to find parking right away. We got there early so the restaurant wasn't open yet. We took a walk around the Westminster for a bit until the place was open. We were sat down right away. Inside is cozy with dim lights and open kitchen and some tables. They have few outside seating available as well. We started with some appetizer raw fish and combo as well as kohlrabi Caesar. We got black bass and a seasonal fish with combo that included lightly roasted oysters, shrimp and squid. All seafood was directly sourced from local port and fresh. Seafood appetizer was delicious. The caesar was interesting. I've never had kohlrabi but it reminded me of radish and it was tasty. Personally i would have preferred little less salt and olive oil so that flavor of the raw ingredient stand out more but was not too bad. My entree was the seafood risotto. Flavorful risotto with some seafood on top. Was a bit messy to eat because of the shells but was flavorful. The crab and shellfish itself was small and a bit underwhelming but the rice was rich and full of fish flavor. My mother had the cacio e Pepe which was good but she said that nothing comparable to one she had in Rome. I was not a huge fan of the thicker pasta but that's just is personal preference. Service was excellent but the table was a bit small and tight as we were very close to the next table and can hear what others are talking about so not a very privately setting. Overall i did like the place. Food and service were good. But it was not anything exceeding expectation and there were few things that detracted from our experience such as heavy seasonings, small dining space and etc... The price is quite expensive for the amount of food they serve as well. I think it's a good place for special occasions.

I've seen on social media that people complained about the new location having mainly street parking - we both found parking easily on the street - quit yer b*tchin' people lol. Besides I believe they have a lot behind the restaurant that we didn't have to use but it's there if needed. We were the only ones there when we first walked in but more patrons came in as the night went on. Made our way to the bar and orders were flowing - one warning if you're sitting at the bar, it is an open kitchen so there will be alot of aromas flowing through and may get on your clothes but really it'll just remind you of how good the food was. Also, the barstools are not the most comfy - metal stools with no backing so after 2.5 hours, we were feeling a bit achy. We ordered way more than we should've but everything just looked so good! We got the croquettes (our absolute fave), the cauliflower, the pizza du jour (I think it had spinach, pepperoni, ricotta and garlic) and for entrees we got the fish tacos and the Orecchiette. Not one complaint - everything was divine. Croquettes were melty, smoky little nuggets of heaven and our favorites bites of the night. The pizza had a great balance of flavors and the crust was thin and crispy. We were so full but had a few bites of the fish tacos and pasta - the fish was cooked to perfection and the aioli it came with topped it perfectly. Pasta was different - had a scallion cream sauce that was a nice change up from your typical Alfredo. Don't sleep on this place - the street is busy being on a main road but so well worth the visit, I didn't catch our bartender's name but he and a few other servers were super personable and friendly - gave us just enough time in between meals and personal space to not hover.
