    4. Hibachi Steak
    Menghai T.

Got the lunch special steak for $14. It truly felt like an "express" hibachi quick takeout. Steak was cooked well done but it might have been on me for not specifying how I wanted it made. Not the greatest, but for the speed and price it was good. The yum yum sauce was also quite good. Would come here if you are in a rush or just want to eat it by yourself.

Lunch Date: the service was slow for it to be only me plus one in the restaurant. I ordered Chicken Hibachi and a drink. Normally, your given a side salad with your order. I had to ask for it after waiting for 5 -8 mins. This wasn't a problem. However, the wait for my food was crazy 30 minutes. We were the ONLY order. I watched him fix it in front of me to include box it up then sat our food on the counter. Nope this is not the issue, maybe it was too hot so I understand. So, I finally get my food after 39 minutes waiting. I had to request the tables be cleaned, they were sticky and had food on them. Nevertheless, it was very delicious. As I sat at the table eating something small moved from my tray to the edge of the table. A ROACH! yup, I was done, no need to eat anymore and yes pissed because I don't know if it came from, in or around my tray of food..... They need a health department visit, and a deep cleaning weekly.

This is probably my favorite spot in Richmond to get hibachi to-go! Food is torch every time I go. They have very reasonable prices and if you go at lunch between 11am-3pm the deals are practically a steal. They also give a very nice size portion of food. I struggle to finish every time, and if I'm not being greedy then I usually can create two meals. It comes with a small salad and two small containers of yum yum sauce but I do recommend asking for extra yum yum sauce if you like it as much as I do. Inside isn't much to look at but they keep the bathroom decent and there's a TV to entertain during the wait. Also everything being prepared is in plain view behind a sneeze guard glass. They have pretty good customer service and the wait time isn't too long unless they are slammed during lunch hours which is usually around 1-2pm, but even then it's worth the wait or I recommend just calling ahead. If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping through to check them out.

It's a pretty good little hibachi place for takeout. Would have liked to try the sushi but didn't really notice in the menu but were in a rush to get something quick for dinner. Not huge portions but the price was reasonable. I certainly would have liked to get more shrimp with my hibachi shrimp, but so it is. For my wife, myself and 14 year old daughter we had hibachi filet mignon ( I assume better quality than usual steak option that they also had? My wife couldn't clearly tell it was that much better) with extra veggies and noodles instead of rice as well as hibachi shrimp with extra veggies.

Okay so ironically I was looking for a totally different establishment but didn't realize it until I got my order but after a few bites I knew the mix up was worth it I got a salmon and shrimp habachi. It was delicious. The Salmon was perfect. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they didn't serve sushi. Nice people too.

For affordable hibachi, this is the place to go. They have most of the same options as your sit in- non express hibachi restaurants and it's a lot quicker. Most options come with rice for an additional $2 you can also get noodles. The tables are always sticky though so makes the hygiene of this establishment questionable, but you can see them preparing your food.

Best find of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A perfect combination of great food, great service, and great prices... there's nothing bad to say about this place. My boyfriend and I found this place by accident. We were going to go to the Mediterranean Oven but it was closed to our dismay. We used Yelp to find something close and this little place came up. We drove up to it and were a little underwhelmed. Anything with the word Express in the name that sells sushi can't be good, right? WRONG! We walked in and ordered from the guy at the register - chicken hibachi, edemame, a tuna sushi roll, and a California sushi roll. We paid a mere $20.15. A few seconds later the gentlemen gave us both a salad. I was quite surprised with how fresh the lettuce was. It was crisp and tasty and a perfect size for a small salad. About 5 minutes later the edamame came out in a little container that the salads came in (definitely not classy but absolutely tasty). The bean was steamed perfectly and had some salt sprinkled over it for flavor. The beans weren't too hard or too soft - they were just right. The chicken came out next. We were both surprised with the portion size. It was HUGE!! For $8 you absolutely get your money's worth. The chicken was seasoned to a wonderful taste and the veggies and rice on the side were amazing. The vegetables were cooked well, not too soft and still had a little crispness to them - everything tasted fresh and wonderful. Like I said before, this is definitely the surprise of the year for me so far. Would I recommend it? Yes!!! It's not a fancy place or anything, but it has all the flavor of a regular hibachi grill at a quarter of the price. You really can't beat that! :)

There were only a couple of tables available, but they were clearly well staffed. We were greeted immediately at the door, and it was obvious there were multiple managers on the floor making sure everything was running smoothly. The ambiance struck the perfect balance--upscale yet approachable. It felt polished without being stuffy or overly formal. The lighting was just right, creating a comfortable atmosphere for dinner, and they offered a nice selection of beverages and cocktails. The food absolutely delivered. My friend ordered the Cobb salad with fried chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked and lightly breaded--not overly heavy at all. His only suggestion would be swapping the mustard-based dressing for something brighter, like a lemon or citrus vinaigrette, since it competed a bit with the blue cheese crumbles. I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with shrimp, and it was fantastic. A small detail that made a surprisingly big impression: the shrimp tails had already been removed! It's such a simple thing, but not having to stop and pick tails off while eating made the meal that much more enjoyable. The dish was perfectly balanced and delicious exactly as served--I wouldn't change a thing. My martini was also expertly made. No notes there either. The restaurant attracted a friendly, well-dressed crowd, adding to the overall experience without feeling pretentious. It's also easy to find, located on the corner of the shopping center with Trader Joe's and Planet Fitness. Granite Grill exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely be back. Great food, attentive service, an inviting atmosphere, and excellent attention to detail. Highly recommended.

Northerners pay attention…read more.. The pizza here is as good as it gets in Richmond. One bite and I was transported back to Brooklyn and the endless string of afternoon visits to my neighborhood pizza place. The pie was hot, cheesy, oily, and the crust, oh that crust! The pizza at Galley-To-Go is a trip back in time. Speaking of time, you will spend some here if you are planning to enjoy a pizza. Average waits for a pizza are at a half hour, but on a weekend evening, you can easily wait double that time. I don't mind waiting for good food, but I think the staff needs to be educated in being able to remind or even warn potential guests (especially first-timers) that their early night may become compromised, or if you have small children, you may do better in their regular "Galley" restaurant just a door away. The back-story behind how this transformed Asian restaurant became an RVA pizza mecca is intriguing and quite involved, but the short version is a New Jersey native who worked for the owners of the Galley named Guistino Riccio brought his family recipes to the Galley's managers, and they were immediately sold. When they transformed the former Mandarin Palace restaurant (the name still sits above the restaurant's doorway, as do other relics that remind you of the space's previous tenants), they put pizza ovens in the kitchen and a neon sign offering "Guistino's Pizza" over the kitchen entrance. Local legend says the owners are still arguing over the name of the "Galley to Go" space (part coffee shop, part grocery store, part cafe), but who cares if the pizza is this good. Well, you might if you want to get in and get out in a hurry (so order ahead, many do), OR if you want to adjust your pizza toppings. No substitutions for the varieties of pizza are permitted (a little concerning if your allergy requires a vegan pizza, which they offer but no protein is on it). So if you are willing to live with the potentially long waits, the small pizza oven capacities (we were told a 20-pie limit at any given time, so if there is a big to-go order, well, just enjoy your beverage SLOWLY while you wait), and the rigidity of the pizza menu (there are other menu items besides pizza but they are not the main draw here...) the Galley to Go may be your RVA pizza destination for a long time to come. I had the second half my pie the next day reheated, and it was just as good as my first bite, a sign that whatever they do in that kitchen, although a labor of love and long waits, is worth its weight in gold.

I first tried to go to Galley Kitchen which does not serve the pizza. You have to walk over to the…read moremarket just next door. It's like a market with seating and pizza. They also serve coffee and beer. Once I got to the right shop I ordered 2 GIUSTINO'S PIZZA's to go. They are about 12 inches. I was only feeding two adults so we probably could have just shared one. I came on a Thursday night and they said I would be 20min. But it was more like 10. I got the sausage and Fennel which is their House Mozzarella, Parmesan, Fresh Cracked Black Pepper all for $10.95. Boyfriend got the Sweet Hot which is Tomato Sauce, Pepperoni, House Mozzarella, Parmesan, Honey, Roasted Calabrian Peppers, Chili Oil and costs $11.95. So a pretty good value! We also tried some prepared meals to go like their chicken salad that was $5 for 11oz and their clam chowder. Both good. They also sell nightingale ice cream!
