I actually come here more than any other Asian restaurant in Florence. I'm not a fan of buffets but this one is decent. It's typical of a mid grade Chinese restaurant with a large fish tank and Chinese themed art. Most of the seating is booths with a few tables around the restaurant. In addition to the buffet, they also have a grill and a sushi buffet (not actual sushi mostly rolls). My favorites at this restaurant are the Hot & Sour Soup and General Tso's Chicken. The wait staff will take your drink order and remove your plates but nothing more. They are nice though. Decent enough place if you're looking for a buffet in Florence. read more

On Saturday afternoon the food was great! Very fresh. Hot fake crab casserole tasty and done right! Fresh cheesy and herbal flavor. Shrimp on salad bar good size and quality bright pink. THEIR FOOD IS COLD, I told the waiter she said OK, and walked off. When my husband and I went to go pay, we told the lady at the cashier she didn't offer to do anything for us. She just said "ok I'll check" I didn't expect free however, if I left more than half my food on the plate because it was cold it should have been half off. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Their interior is really cool. They have a triple tier lighting levels/colors in the center of the restaurant. Their sushi isn't bad, although calling the place Japanese is an insult to Japan. It's very basic sushi. You won't find a a real quality Firecracker roll or a dragon roll in a place like this. The buffet was mislabeled and mediocre. The dumplings shells were already so dry and hard they were inedible. The baked crab had zero crab in it. It was all white fish. I always see ppl goin in here as it's right beside Dollar Tree. We gave it a try just to see what's all about. Most Chinese buffets have same food types, this one too, Gen Tau, orange, honey chicken, pork sticks, fried rice, ham, some really poor excuse for pizza. I would say the owner try's w variety but the quality is low grade. There are 4 hot bar, 1 salad, 1 dessert, sushi (I wouldn't take risk raw fish here). There are many choices for this Chinese buffet, the price for dinner $13.99 is not great. There are 6 option of Breyers ice cream, that is a plus. Got here on a Sunday (7pm-ish) to grab a quick bite off of I-95 with my kids. We were expecting the typical average Chinese buffet scene, which is a mild expectation but we were severely disappointed. One whole buffet bar was empty and the other ones look depressed and dry. My kids were hungry from the road trip and they just wanted to dive in. I just wanted to leave and grab fast food instead. I assume their business is slower at night and they didn't bother to replenish their bars. I've seen that practice elsewhere and the owners do offer to make some plates for the arriving customers. This place, does not care. Please save your money and go grab some fast food outside, which is what I should have done. We ate a late lunch here last week. I've been here several times before and just thought it was so- so. What a difference this time!! There seemed to be a change in management. The Hostess in front was very welcoming, the wait staff was attentive all through our meal. The restaurant was clean, the buffet bars were fully stocked and the food was hot, even though it was passed the usual lunch hour and not dinner time yet. The dishes were cooked perfectly, the seasonings were done very well, the Hibachi bar had a big variety & the food was cooked just the way we like it. They only let down was the dessert bar. The food was straight out of a package and tasted like plastic. The ice cream bar was a tree as usual. Even if you have eaten here before and it didn't wow you, do yourself a favor and try it again. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would rather cook food at home, whatever is in the fridge, then come back to eat at this establishment. First thing I noticed were the wet and slippery floors. Second thing was the strong odor of bleach. I dry heaved as I washed my hands from how strong the smell was. My boyfriend asked me if I wanted to eat here and I took a chance and said yes. The food tasted like it was cooked days prior and reheated today. All the food we ate was below room temperature. The Hibachi Grill has a real hibachi grill, where you can select fresh veggies and meats and have them cooked up for you. Do this part! That is the best part. Rest of the whole place is a huge buffet with over 6 large tables. Even with best attempts to keep it full, the food sits out and loses both heat and taste. I pick out a few things to try, but it all tends to taste the same. There is fresh fruit, and a dessert bar with an ice cream case. But it scares me when so many hands going into it. The staff is polite and very attentive. But you come here for cheap eats. I only like it for the hot food you can get cooked at the grill. Go try it. read more

This is a fast food version of fast food. So the prices are almost half of what they are in the sit down show restaurants. They have all seating spaces out. They have plexiglass in front of the cashiers and the staff is wearing masks. (Not all of them wear it correctly). The cashier we had was so warm and friendly. When your order starts that way, everything looks cleaner. So shout out to her!. But seriously. The tables have been wiped down and the floor is clean. We both got filet mignon bowls. They come with rice and mushrooms for about $15. My son ordered his steak medium with no mushrooms and white sauce. I ordered mine medium well with mushrooms and one ginger sauce. They came out as both medium well. Neither had mushrooms and 4 white sauces. No ginger. Oh well. It was good. Too much soy sauce for my liking. About two days worth of sodium. But it's fast food. We took a break from car shopping to get lunch. This restaurant is located in a busy shopping plaza. My parents love it. This was my first time here and hopefully it will be my last. It wasn't awful but wasn't great. We were immediately seated. Inside is kinda dark. There's a cute koi fish pond and two fish tanks on the left hand side by the entrance. I didn't notice until we were leaving that a large fish was dead in one of the tanks....poor guy. The buffet contains the typically Chinese buffet options: fried rice, fried chicken, baked fish, veggie, mussels, peel and eat shrimp, noodles, etc. There's also a hibachi grill (hence the name) where you can choose items and get them cooked on the spot. This was my first time at hibachi grill and it was a amazing experience. I came during the lunch time and the food was great. My favorite food was the black pepper chicken and shrimp. We went to Hibachi Grill yesterday for lunch, we got there around 11:30. A lady was stirring the food around and saying that the air conditioner was making the food cold. I said that the food is always cold. I really didn't want to eat there but my mom and sister did. I should've followed my instincts and went somewhere else for lunch of course my instincts were right everything was cold and tasted bland and terrible. My mom and sister felt the same way, we all left the food on our plates and didn't go back for second, even the yeast rolls had unmelted butter on the. The chicken my mom had on her plate looked like it was left over from yesterday and didn't appear to be freshly cooked. The customer service sucks as well. I mentioned that the food was cold and that we didn't enjoy our meal to the staff and their response was no one else had complained, she also started talking in her native language to which I responded with it's just constructive criticism and same to you. My husband and I went to the Hibachi Grill buffet and guess who else was there feasting on the food getting fat plump? ROACHES!!!! Yes, the roaches were out eating all they could. Over the years this place has been aging frighteningly ungracefully. The staff has always been pleasant every time I come in but everything else has taken a nosedive. The tables and booths are in serious disrepair so you have to be careful when you sit lest you get a spring prodding your sensitive bits. There seems to be a permanent layer of grease on the floors which can make walking on the already slippery tiles more hazardous. If you aren't slipping, you might be tripping on the cracked tiles. So either way, walk with caution. The good news is the food is still edible but only if you hit them during a relatively busy time. If you happen to come in on a weekday for lunch, expect old food on the hot bars. I'd highly recommend going for the hibachi part if you aren't coming in during a busy time. I took my family in for lunch on a weekday and for the hour we were there I saw a guy changing only one item in the bar out, but he still dumped the old, dried food on top of the fresher food. Still, none of us got sick so that's a plus. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're looking for quantity over quality. I had low expectations for a generic Asian restaurant in Florence, South Carolina of all places. This place went way beyond what I expected. Keep in mind, this is all relative. It's "4-star Chinese buffet/hibachi/sushi restaurant off I-95 in South Carolina" good. The food was pretty tasty, didn't in any way sicken me, and it was plentiful and cheap. The hibachi is definitely the way to go here. As for the buffet, there's a good range. Curiously for an Asian restaurant, no tofu. Anyone who gets their knickers in a twist over any restaurant with the word "buffet" in the name needs to adjust their meds. This is not fine dining or even dining. It is an opportunity to gorge yourself on whatever offerings are heaped into the troughs for your consumption. It is the Asian Golden Corral. The food was plentiful and unoffensive. The service and staff were both indifferent and invisible and the silverware needed another pass through the dishwasher. The interior of the place is also a little worse for the wear. Many of the tables, chairs and benches need repair. Make no mistake about it, this place is about getting you in and out so they can turn over those tables. You will not be enticed to linger over coffee and dessert here while you discuss your day and the latest round of political debates on CNN or FOX. I have had better food in a buffet setting but not in this area. If the bar is already set quite low then raising it is not often a goal of the competition. If you're expecting quality here, just remind yourself that you are dining in a strip mall restaurant whose neighbors are Dollar Tree and Big Lots. I felt that I ate my money's worth here but then again, I was also up at 3:03 AM writing this review very much in part due to consuming the food. Ok, so there were multiple fails in my rational for choosing a Japanese restaurant, in a shopping plaza that is anchored by a Big Lots. But it started with ignoring the Yelp reviews and instead taking advice from a redneck whose main concern for choosing this "great" restaurant was obviously portion allowances at the trough known as "buffet extravaganza"(complete with fading echo effect). So, food spread: plenty of American themed Asian fried stuff (and multiple variations of same meats fried different ways), the sushi bar: I'm still shaking my head at the length of time something could sit out b4 the rice hardened, I skipped the dessert bar-o-plenty and pretty much everything else due to concerns for exposure to life threatening health concerns. Came back here again and was seated at the same table as last time, funny. Still as good, if not better, especially when compared to a particularly bad buffet encountered elsewhere last week. They gave us 5 gloves to keep using over and over again. A roach was on my sister plate.
