Looks are deceiving because when I open the container. I was like, OK!! I've ordered from here a few times. Average food, but today was the worst! So I originally ordered food on Uber and cancelled my order because it was taking forever to have a driver pick up my food. They ended up charging me for the price of the food. So I call up to hibachi K express and speak to a lady. She says the food is still here and not cold so come pick it up. I go pick it up and someone who appears to be the owner (nice watch) asked me my name and was kinda just giving me a hard time. He ends up asking me to pay an additional $16 on top of the inflated price I was charged on Uber eats ($20). After being told on the phone to just come and pick it up. Lost my business. read more

I think it's time for me to call it quits with this establishment. I decided to get dinner for my kids and I after not having been here for over a year. I hadn't been because I kept forgetting it existed. My latest experience makes me wish I had forgotten it. I ordered our meals using DoorDash. I ordered two chicken rice bowls and a chicken/steak rice bowl. This was confirmed via the receipt I received from DoorDash. When the food arrived, the chicken rice bowls were correct, but my chicken/steak rice bowl included all of the vegetables. I wanted to have the food replaced and called Hibachi K. Unfortunately, the manager was unwilling to resolve the issue. I explained what I ordered. The manager stated that they did not receive the order as containing a chicken/steak rice bowl. The order was received as being the regular entree with the vegetables. The manager proceeded to say, "You'll need to talk to DoorDash. We just cook the food." I explained that I could drive over and show the receipt with what I ordered. The manager continued to say I would need to contact DoorDash. I understood where he was coming from, but didn't think this was the best way to treat customers. We went back and forth, but the manager continued to say that I need to contact DoorDash. I did contact DoorDash who couldn't understand why the restaurant received the incorrect order. Though I was refunded the money from DoorDash, I was still left without a meal to eat. When my normal hibachi place -- Hibachi 88 -- was closed for Sunday and an intense hibachi chicken craving hit, I ended up getting Hibachi K Express. I will not be doing that again. There were a couple issues, but the biggest thing is that my styrofoam box for my to go order was only half full, the servings of vegetables and chicken were very small, and chicken was over cooked. Further, I had to cover my food in yum yum sauce to eat it. As much as I love yum yum sauce, it's meant to enhance a meal -- not make it edible. Moved to Knightdale late Feb 2020. We didn't move far, just 7 miles, from Raleigh. But just as social distancing and quarantine talk was starting we were trying to find our way around a new community, neighborhood, etc. Anyway, we had been striking out for days. When we finally found out about them, it was just barely 10 minutes from closing time and ( 8 minute drive with traffic. ) They still let me place a big order, of course I got lost on the way... so by the time I got there it was close to 10 minutes after closing time but you'd never have know it from they were treating me. Everyone was so kind and hospitable. ETA- wtf- I forgot to mention the food... At a restaurant... Seriously though- The food was ABSOLUTELY phenomenal! I stop by here from time to time mainly because it's the closest sushi restaurant to home. The look of the restaurant might give off meh vibe (i.e. sticky floor), but the sushi here is pretty decent. It's fairly affordable for pretty good sushi. I had good interactions with the people at Hibachi K. The only thing that I can't love this place is how unclean it feels to dine it here. Both floor and the tables are all sticky. Every single time I visited here, I've never had non-sticky floor nor tables. That makes me wonder if things are really clean here. Pull up Google Map and see how many "Hibachi Express" are in your town? So if you have been to similar Hibachi place, you should know the deal: small store, set course lunch specials, your choice of chicken or beef or shrimp, plus the ultimate decision: do I want the white sauce, or the ginger sauce? All that, and authentic Asian guy behind the plexiglass with paper hat and funny apron making a racket and cooking up a storm. Tell me that I did not just describe your Hibachi place too. One cool thing about this here however, is the fact they keep the soup self-serve, inside a thermo tea dispenser. Sure it's nothing spectacular, just your standard clear beef broth, but still the fact to be able to getting your own soup, with thinly sliced mushrooms and green scallions on the side, is pretty neat. Besides that deal, this is a decent simple and quick "grab your takeout and go back to work" kind of place, but of course they have seats inside should you spare five to ten minutes away from your work or errands. P.S. I think that Grand Opening sign has been hanging for a while, so I don't know when the specials will ends, but if you are getting your hibachi on in the next few days, try to get the Manager's Hibachi Special, complete with drink and soup: veggie $6, Chicken $7, Beef $7, Shrimp $8. read more

Had lunch here on Sunday and the experience was not good. First they had no ice for drinks, (broken ice maker)but they didn't bother to say anything before you ordered nor did they bother to walk next door to the Lowe's food and pick up a bag of ice to satisfy their customers. Then they ran out of steak as soon as they opened. We sat down to eat as we had errands in town. There were several tables that were not cleaned. One has to assume from the night before because we were among the first customers of the day. They are presently expanding their Knightdale location the adjacent parcel that was formerly a FedEx packing center. It will be part of their new sushi bar.
