I love this place!!! When it first opened I came in 3 times that week. Each time I was super impressed with the food, the price and the service. When my son graduated I had several family members and friends join us for dinner to celebrate. The chef was so entertaining and funny. We absolutely had a great experience. Absolutely love this place! The service was fast and friendly---thanks to our great server, Monique. The dark ambiance was so romantic. Husband and I chose a booth near the tatami rooms. We ordered the calamari and tempura shrimp for appetizers, the Scallop Hibachi for our entrees, and the tempura cheesecake for dessert. Did I mention the wonderful pear sake? It was amazing. I work as a courier for several different companies. Unfortunately I was not able to get their names, but the staff was amazing. There was miscommunication on the order and it ended up taking about a half hour to get everything ready. It got fixed, and everyone was happy. The staff was extremely professional and nice. Moving from Chicago, we are huge hibachi fans! And although this one isn't the best we've had -- we love it! We visit 1-4x/ month and normally have a great experience! We have only had one encounter where our server was clearly new and had no idea how to be a waiter. We love most of the grill cooks - and have a favorite - and the food always comes out delicious! As a vegetarian, I do the Vegetable Habachi & add tofu! So delicious! And we almost never have a wait. Definitely a great place to visit for a date night or a night out with friends! read more

Had dinner here last night before the restaurants shut down again. We were asked where we wanted to sit- dining room or Hibachi. We chose Hibachi to watch the show and because my husband was considering it. The server was excellent- very friendly and attentive. When we both decided not to have Hibachi, we could only have Hibachi at those tables. I told her we would have to move then, but no dining room seats were available. My shrimp tempura was large and we cooked, but quite under seasoned. The sauce was also bland. My husband enjoyed his Bento box. Others at the table had Hibachi and we got to see the show. Very corny. The Hibachi was huge on noodles and rice, but low on protein. We were disturbed to see two employees wearing their masks as chin guards and never covering their noses. Overall, we are not sure we would return. The food was fresh and reasonably price. It is unfortunate that the tempura seasoning was so bland. read more

Wow, what a great experience. From out of town on New Year's Eve, thought we would give them a try, so glad we did! This place was busy, but we experienced one of the best Japanese dining evenings we have had. Out server Blanca was amazing, attentive, friendly and the most incredibly pleasant and sweet attitude you could ever find in a server. When complimented, she would thank you and spill that compliment onto the entire staff, this restaurant has the most incredible staff you could ever ask for. The food was delicious. There was absolutely nothing to fault. We love Japanese food, and this dinner left us wanting more! The minute you walk up to the building it's clear that was your first mistake. Do they EVER wash the glass on the front doors? We wanted sushi, they sat us in the sushi bar area at a high table. We thought it was a joke like we were on candid camera because the chair heights were too low for the bar tables. We asked to move to a regular table. The sushi was just ok. For some reason we were the only table that did not receive miso soup and a salad to start. 12 hours later I'm having to go to the bathroom urgently. No big surprise from how dirty the restaurant is. This used to be our favorite hibachi sushi spot-that is until the last two visits. The sushi always tastes great, however it has shrunk to 1/2 of the size that is used to be. We ordered a BMW roll, fantastic roll, and a spicy tuna roll (all of which usually are about the same size) The BMW roll was clearly half the size of the fantastic roll as well as sliced half as thin as they normally are. I think if we're getting less food, at least lower the price. We asked our server why it was so small and he didnt seem to care and just brushed it off by saying "hmm...must be a new chef or something." So I think from now on we will be dining at Hayashi for 1.00 more per roll in order to get our money's worth. read more

Great experience would highly recommend it.. we were thinking get it was a little place tucked away and off the beaten path.. turns out we were please try suprised that the decor had 4 different sitting get areas and each one had a way to enhance your dining experience. The first was Removed from most.. typical booths with dim lighting away from the second so you could have a good mood set for a party of two or four.. quiet and you could have a quiet conversation between your dining party. The second was a private Japanese sitting arrangement with a small low the floor table.. and pillows on the floor.. very very nicely done.. the third was seating at the bar around where the chef made the sushi and the susami right in front of you.. the fourth and final is a habachi grill for a party of 6 to 10 around the cooktop. The chef cooks your meal in front if you with some flare of what is slight of hand and what can only be described as pure talent and a touch of magic.. they put on a show for you and make a great dinner that everyone gets involved in.. so you have a choice to make of which dining experience you want.. but you won't be disappointed with the food.. read more

We haven't eaten there very often because it's expensive. We decided to go on Sunday. The first thing I noticed was how unattractive the parking lot looks. The asphalt is old. The landscaping is almost non-existent. So first impression as you drive up to the restaurant is horrible. There are weeds everywhere. The entry door glass was dirty with finger prints. Then we walked in and saw a table with items for sale. It looked like a messy table from a flea market. They have the phone ringer set very high, so we could hear it ringing during most of our lunch. That was very annoying. Their prices are high, and we all agreed that we probably would not go back. I can't imagine not wanting customers to be impressed from the moment they drive up. With so much competition in the restaurant business I believe attention to detail is crucial. Their website mentioned lunch specials Monday thru Sunday. But at the restaurant we were told that there weren't lunch specials on Sundays. read more

There was a mix up on my friends order and they were able to fix it immediately. The chef felt really bad and we were totally ok with the honest mistake. First time here and took the family for Father's Day lunch. Waited 15 minutes to be seated which went by pretty quickly . We were seated by an awesome waiter "Nguyen", super nice guy. Friendly and very courteous. Our drink orders were taken on the spot. The cook came and did the usual show you would receive at this type of restaurant. I expected the same ol veggies rice and noodles. The veggies were fabulous !!!!! So much food on this plate none of us could finish it all. Excellent people here, atmosphere and the restaurant is very clean and not too crowded or cluttered. We had a great time here and we will definitely be back. After a recent bad experience at our favorite Japanese 'steakhouse' we decided to make the trek across the river to check out this place. We had a great experience. The service was really good, very attentive and prompt. We got the tempura app-it was delicious and our meals were very good as well. Okay, so this is some weird episode of kitchen nightmares right? Oh where to begin... well, we waited about 30 minutes just to get drinks and yes this includes water. During this extended wait I got to witness 2 different parties leave in a pretty angry state. Not a good omen. I should mention that I was only here for the sushi bar, although the service was so dreadful, you couldn't pay me to come back. The waitress we had seemed incapable of doing even the most basic aspects of the job and spent more time socializing on her cell phone than actually trying to wait our table. We got an aggressively mediocre sushi platter that was supposed to come with soup, that we never recieved and what could have been a decent roll if it had been made right. The sunshine roll we ordered was sadly made with imitation crab, even though it does not state that on the menu and ours was made incorrectly without the avocado, which made it even more sad. After a disastrous experience I asked to speak to the owner and in response was asked by my ditsy waitress what it is that we had ordered. Aparently she still had no idea what was going on. I repeated that I wanted to speak with the owner and she finally went to get him after calling me sir. Unfortunately, the owner didn't really seem to care either. I hope that anyone reading this does not waste their time or money at this establishment. read more

Based on previous reviews read on Yelp we decided to try Hibachi one and boy were we ever pleased. Just so happens we did get Monique as our waitress, and the service was outstanding and the food was incredible! The place is gorgeous and the presentation of the food is exquisite, not to mention the incredible service! The next time we go back we will be sitting at one of the grills or perhaps one of the private rooms where you can sit on the floor at the table and let your feet dangle and enjoy an intimate meal with friends. We sincerely hope that this place does well and lasts a long time unlike other establishments that have been in this location. It's about time something really good opened up on this side of town that is not a chain! read more

Stopped here for lunch after reading the reviews on Yelp. We got the terriayki chicken lunch combo and a few sushi rolls. The Food was delicious and reasonable priced for what we got.
