I have always wanted to hire a catering company to perform and do a hibachi dinner in our backyard. When we were trying to figure out what to do for our business Christmas celebration, we decided this would be the best opportunity. I researched many companies, talk to you about five different catering companies, and decided to go with Hibachi Queens. I could not have gone wrong! Hibachi Queens was great from the beginning, going back-and-forth on email and making sure we had all the dates and details settled. The guys showed up a little bit early and were set up and ready to go right on time. As you can see from the pictures, the set-up was beautiful and this was all Hibachi Queens. We just told them it was a Christmas party, they did the rest. The service was amazing, the show was great, but I have to tell you that the food was probably the best I've had!!!!! The entire team said the same thing. We decided to also surprise the team with the fire dancer that could also be booked, and he was so much fun! He was absolutely worth the extra spend! Chef Derrick was hilarious, entertaining, and cooked the food expertly. We got the Royal package and we chose shrimp, lobster, and NY steak. So delicious. My friends were very impressed with everything from the set up, to the tablescape, to the food, and Stephanie's excellent table service. They were great with communication over text and easy to work with. I'm so glad I hired them and will definitely hire them again in the future. My son and his wife arranged to have Hibachi Queens come out to their house to celebrate a birthday. I have to be honest I have seen so many of these companies and thought the hype is about the show. And the food is probably not that great. WELL I WAS WRONG. First of all our chef and server Lucas and Jay were absolutely outstanding! They were personable, organized and all around a great team. The show was amazing and just feels different when you have it at your house and not at a restaurant sitting with strangers. Let's talk about the food. Without referencing any restaurants that are similar to this experience THE FOOD WAS WAY BETTER! It was super fresh and had so much flavor. The portions were large and they even provided take home containers which was awesome! I highly recommend trying them out! They have definitely earned our business for any future celebrations! We were planning a surprise birthday for our grandma's 90th Birthday and had to change our plans the last few days leading up. Hibachi Queens came through and was super accommodating on short notice and was able to squeeze us into their tight schedule. Not only were they really accommodating but their service was just impeccable! I highly recommend requesting for Ron and Paul. Both were very entertaining t and Paul made sure our guests were comfortable and had their glasses filled throughout the night. I'm actually surprised to see all these 5 star reviews, majority of them are catering so I'm going to assume it's a complete different experience in comparison to the food truck. My niece is from AZ so I brought her to long beach for the first time and she's pretty simple when it comes down to foods she likes to eat. She just wanted chicken and rice and we drove past the food trucks And she wanted to eat here instead of at a restaurant. Of course parking was horrendous on a weekend even in the parking lots, we walked over take a look at the menu. She wants a chicken and steamed rice bowl, no veggies with regular teriyaki sauce on top and the side with a pink lemonade. I order a chicken and shrimp duo, teriyaki and garlic butter on the side with steamed rice and no veggies, the total was $54. The wait was longer than 15 mins which was expected at most hibachi spots and with the customers that placed orders ahead so we went to a neighbor truck for esquites and elote on a stick. Once our food was ready we walked off and did some sightseeing and shopping at shoreline village, she even had her first funnel cake. While we were at the table she started to eat her food and absolutely hated it and I asked her what's wrong she said it's bland and they forgot to add her sauce and they didn't give us the pink lemonade. I let her have my sauce but it wasn't enough so we walked back and let them know. The customer service was great no argument there, they fixed the issue right away gave her loads of sauce, and even gave us an extra lemonade for the inconvenience. Once we got home she tried to eat it some more but she hates sesame seeds and it was covered in them, then her grandmother ordered Mexican and my niece ended up eating quesadillas for the night. One of the first things I noticed with mine I also asked for no veggies and it came with veggies, the container is mostly rice with barely any protein. I had 6 shrimp and maybe a cup worth of chicken. Before adding the sauce I tried it and agree with my niece it is very bland and lightly seasoned they must expect the sauce to do the job. The garlic butter was melted for some reason and usually butter solidifies once it cools down so idk why after 2 hours it was still melted it was giving margarine. I mixed both the "butter" and teriyaki sauce and poured it over my rice veggie bowl with barely any protein, took another bite and was just over it. This food was nowhere near worth being $54 and if I could get a refund I would've gladly sent our food back. Neither one of us finished our food, I wasn't expecting the greatest hibachi but at least edible, very disappointing and never again. read more
