On my most recent visit, they were unfortunately out of the banana cream matcha even though it was still listed on the menu . My husband had been really looking forward to trying it, so that was a bit of a letdown. However, he ended up getting the mango matcha instead, and it was just as delicious, so it all worked out. The space itself is open and inviting, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. They also offer food, which I haven't tried yet, but I've heard great things especially about their waffle dessert that everyone seems to love. Definitely planning to try that next time! Overall, this place delivers on all fronts: amazing boba drinks, great vibes, and friendly service. 10/10!

They have an extension cord with multiple outlets tucked in the corner under the corner table. Service (4/5): Server was friendly and quick. I'm glad he asked if regular milk was okay because it reminded me that it's not for my husband. It's a small thing but it's appreciated! I also loved the little surprise of getting some extra smoothie in a small cup, perfect for my daughter. Why can't other shops be like this? Appreciate it! Drink (4/5): The strawberry banana smoothies tasted fresh. Real fruit bits and not overly sweet or artificial tasting. My husband and I both noted that it had great flavor. My only gripe was that it was still a bit icy; it was hard at times sucking the smoothie out of the boba straw we used. If it were blended fully and smoothly, I would say it would be near perfect. Would we come back? Based on this experience, if we need a quick stop for a drink before the freeway, this makes for a good stop. If it's good matcha it's either a Yamari type or an Airoma type, and this scales much closer to Airoma, but it is VERY strong matcha. -This was actually the first time my friend and I got poisoned (like nauseous) from the matcha, meaning it's super high quality and strong. Never had this happened before, so you know that this is the good stuff. It might have been since it was a long day without dinner, or we might have needed it to be sweeter, but I can see why they won their award. I took a sip of my friend's Phin Drip Black Coffee and the Bac Xiu Marble Drip Iced Latte. Delicious coffee flavor without that "sourness" that some coffees have and even without added sweetness, it's not gross and bitter. The drinks are excessively sweet, a mortal sin by Asian standard, and they have a generic taste that might as well have one item on the entire menu. Alas, to get a sip of the old favorites, now I have to drive across town instead of stop by after work. I am glad that I got my many trips here before the old guards died, and it's probably better for my hemoglobin A1c in the long run.

If you're going to make a taro drink this sweet and not allow customers to adjust the sugar level, at least the taro itself should be good. This wasn't. I genuinely don't understand the hype. For the price, there are so many better milk tea shops around LA. Very disappointed and definitely will not be coming back.

It was around 1 o'clock on a Saturday Afternoon, when I was in the area and I saw a new restaurant that I've never been to before which was the Hiccups Restaurant in Carson. At first, looking on the outside didn't seem it was going to be a great place to eat, but looks can be deceiving. Upon entering the restaurant, you see many things within the restaurant like seeing the employees behind the counter to your right. Looking straight ahead you see that there are customers enjoying their food and having conversations and behind where the customers were sitting is the Hiccups name in letters with lights inside each letter. The mood/atmosphere was mellow and calm knowing that you could enjoy your time while there feeling like home knowing that you are able to relax and enjoy your time while being at Hiccups. You could sit wherever you want to either for staying while you enjoy the food dish you have ordered or while you wait for your order before taking it to go knowing that you can enjoy the time there if you either eat in or take the food to go. I first looked at the menu, which was a wood-themed background going with the theme of the restaurant like the tables and the area where the employees workedt. Inside the menu shows a message that says, "Hiccups was founded with the belief that anything is possible when you follow your dreams. With a love of food and a passion for cooking, the Founders set forth to create an establishment that allowed their vision to become a reality." I can relate to the beginning of the quote with "anything is possible when you follow your dreams" because the founder of this restaurant wanted to show the customers that they can follow their dreams if they can put their mind to it just like the owner. There are many types of food dishes from appetizers to dry noodles entrees, to noodles soup-pho. Hiccups have a mixture of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese food dishes on top of their coffee and teas, smoothies and juices that they also sell. There are many different choices to look through to try out. Looking through the menu, I wanted to try the Orange Chicken with Rice that comes with a salad on the side which looked appealing and appetizing. With the drinks, I wanted to try out the Horchata Mocha Smoothie which was something that I have never heard about and sounded delectable. The drinks came first about 5 minutes after ordering at the register. Looking at the outside of the drink which was showing caramel syrup drizzled around the cup which made the smoothie look appealing and delectable to taste. A couple minutes later after the drinks, the food came. The scent that came from the orange chicken dish was succulent and sweet with the orange based syrup that was with the chicken. When I saw the dish I knew that it would be savory and scrumptious by the smell and look of it. Taking a bite out of the orange chicken was delicious because of the juicy orange chicken with the salad and dressing. The Orange Chicken's texture is crunchy as you take a bite out of one piece of the chicken and is gooey with the orange based sauce. The plate portions are big enough to be shared with two people or for one person with enough food that you could take to go. The orange chicken is both sweet and savory. The white rice is okay but plain with no flavor unless it has the orange chicken sauce that makes it a little bit tastier and more enjoyable. The salad, on the other hand, had a sweet salad dressing that when eaten makes the salad itself sweet, delectable, but after a couple bites a little too sweet. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone if they like Thai, Vietnamese, or Chinese food because of the great service and the delectable taste of food/drinks there. read more

Luckuly our drinks were a little better than ok, but it seems like they need to be consistant with the food as well. This was my 2nd time going and the obstacles began at the order point. We ordered and somehow one of our meals was either lost at the POS or the receipt printed out the incorrect order, confusing I know, even one of the servers asked if that was the only receipt we received. I will say that the servers were being as helpful as they could. My biggest dissapointment is that the food does not come out hot, it always comes out luke warm, and that was with all our meals, both times we were there. With the influence of the menu being largely Asian, sriracha sauce is a must!!! I think sriracha sauce should just automatically be at every table. We asked for some and received half a 2oz cup :(. I would definitely go back for the specialty drinks if i'm in the area, but no on the food. read more

I am living near this place and has given them so many visits. I really want to like Hiccups. But everytime I came to order the food mostly took too long to complete. And also the food is not satisfied with me. Drink is ok. Food is ew. Garlic noodle always lack of flavor and not warm enough, I paid almost 16 bucks for a shaken beef garlic noodle with just few cubes of beef filet mignon is way too expensive. Sorry I can get any shaken beef in any Vietnamese restaurant with the better price. The second time I gave them a chance and order Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice, sorry, the fried rice is also not warm, and it was undercook, it was like they just put rice on the pan for a few seconds to mix pea & carrot and chicken together then take it out, without any seasoning or cooking properly, it was just like mixing . is this a mixing rice or fried - rice ?? read more

I have been telling my husband about this place and how much I want it to try it, well the day finally arrived. The food is really good. I had the combination fried rice and my husband had the Mongolian noodles. I requested the fried rice not to be too greasy and they delivered. We had the Horchata-Mocha and a Chamoy Mango, they were very delicious and they were huge. I couldn't finish my drink. The things that I was not so happy about was that they don't have the prices showing. I couldn't really find out how much I paid for each item, We spent 45 dollars on the rice, the noodles and the 2 drinks. Also the AC was very cold and we had to eat our food faster than normal because our food was getting cold very quickly, Besides that we had a good experience and we will be coming back whenever we are in the area. read more

Service here seems to vary at times. So does the food. Sometimes the servers are good and welcoming, sometimes they seem like being there is the last place they want to be. Also, I seemed to realize that the closer they are to closing, the lower the food quality seems to get. Maybe they're in a rush to close and get out of there? I ordered a garlic noodle with shaken beef, the steak was basically medium rare as opposed to the medium that I ordered, the noodles were bland, and the veggies were barely cooked!! Had never tried this place before today, but a friend recommended it to me, and it was very close by, so I decided to go with him for today. I can honestly say that my experience was really good, the taro smoothie and garlic noodles with shaken beef were absolutely delicious. The customer service was phenomenal, the cashier Rose did an amazing job clarifying and recommending items, while the server Anthony was very welcoming and helpful with our food. I placed an order online, but when I got their the girl informed me that they didn't have Bobba until after 30 minutes, but I was on my lunch break I count wait that long. She offered to upgrade the drinks, but when I got the drinks they were not upgraded, at this point I'm already running late back from my lunch break so I told her its okay. My suggestion is please don't offer the items on the menu if you don't have them. read more

The place is good (well the drinks are) however, the food is filled with MSG like no other, and not properly handled by certified food handlers. Perhaps that is something that should be disclosed with the consumers. Don't believe me... ask for a tour. Counters are filthy, restrooms are gross. In terms of parking, street parking is probably your best bet. There are a number of free parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant on Carson Boulevard. They also have a lot in the rear of the business. I even ordered a fruity booty slushy to go. Which I should've bought two because it was that good! And it really cooled me down in the heat. Parking was easy, and when we walked in, there was only one occupied table. Three employees were chatting in the back. We were greeted, but it felt more like, "What would you like?" than "Welcome in." No smile, no conversation, no thank you--just a transaction. After taking our order, the employee returned to chatting with coworkers. When our order was ready, our name was called, the halo-halo was placed on the counter, and that was the end of the interaction. As for the halo-halo itself, my partner rated it a 2/10. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overpriced for what we received. We were hoping for layers of flavor and nostalgia but got a sugar rush that could probably power a small city. As a business owner myself, I understand that customer service is one of the biggest drivers of customer retention. Great products can bring people in once, but great service brings them back. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. The good news? These issues are fixable. A little more warmth, engagement, and hospitality would go a long way. Until then, we'll continue our search for our next favorite halo-halo spot.

The lady went with a regular (20 oz - $6.90) Lychee Freeze and she liked it a lot. I tried it and its made with real lychee pieces and lychee jelly. It's really tasty. Like I said, this location has a drive-thru so it's draw for that convenience. There is also a small parking lot that's strictly for their customers. We drove by on 2 consecutive nights and they were busy both nights.
