They did not have a child serving, so there was a big serving that went home with us. She would not eat it the next day either... I had a loaded baked potato. The potato was really big, done nicely, but it really needed some butter and by the time I got some, it was too cool to melt the butter. I would not get it again for sure. I didn't get pictures, dealing with two little ones.... Just slightly below average experience for me. I may give them another try in the future, but with completely different dishes.

My son and I decided to go to the Hickory Tavern on yesterday in Holly Springs which is not too far from where we were shopping. Our server named was Ryan who went above and beyond making sure that my son and I had everything that we needed at our dinner table. We both decided to get the Shrimp and Grits on yesterday, which worked out to be very tasty. The atmosphere is always so very nice and pleasant when we go. The General Manager Quintella came to assure to see if our meals were fresh, hot, and appetizing. I am always stuffed when I leave this place because this place gives you your monies worth when you dine here. If anyone is sitting on the fence about eating here at this Tavern please do not be hesitant about it. You will walk away from here like my 13 year young son was on yesterday with a big smile on his face licking his fingers in glee that he ate here. We had such a great experience dining here, and a big part of that was thanks to our server Zoai. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome. You can tell she takes pride in what she does , everything was handled smoothly, from recommendations to timing of the food. She checked in just the right amount (not too much, not too little), made sure our drinks were always filled. It's rare to find service that feels both professional and personal, but they nailed it. Our group of educators had been working hard all day on designing a plan to increase student achievement when we arrived at Hickory Tavern for a catered lunch. The food was hot, delicious, and plentiful. The staff was quick to serve us and get us back to our work for the afternoon and even went so far as to provide "to go" cups for us to stay refreshed while we finished our work. Service was good. If we lived nearby we would probably visit again but it was a drive for us.
