It's been a while since I have been here, so I couldn't remember what it was like until I read the description of my one photo. Yes, everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming there. When we got there, they were low of treats, as it was Sunday afternoon. There wasn't a lot of seating choices, but enough, for few people which is fine by me. I have to go back there and try their treats. Parking is not an issue, as there was plenty of street parking.

I'm trying the vanilla latte and a apple cinnamon muffin. The vibe is pretty chill early in the morning with only a hand full of people in the place. Fairly small and not a lot of intimate space. Sent him an Apple Watch and was poised and delicious and had small baked apple chunks inside. It was topped with cinnamon crumble. Today was nothing special.

MY ABSOLUTE FAVE COFFEE PLACE IN VANCOUVER, WA! They're the bomb. I love them. Owners/managers are so sweet and make the best coffee. I love getting their vanilla lattes and the London Fog latte is absolutely amazing too. Their new special is the eggnog latte and it's everything you could ask for this wintry season. Creamy and rich! You just can't stop drinking it. I will keep coming back for their special and I hope you do too because everyone should try it. They have lovely pastries, cakes, and cookies too. Everything is fresh and delicious. I do think their younger female staff need better barista training though because the quality of the drinks is never the same as when the managers make it. I've been there many times and was unhappy with the mediocre coffee or tea latte they made for me. I much prefer it when the managers have made it. Perhaps more training is needed? Other than that, Hidden River is the best place for authentic coffee in Vancouver! It's a hidden gem nestled in downtown Camas. Love it!

Nice little coffee roaster place that my family and I happened upon after a mid afternoon hike. Great place to get some work done or read a little with lots of natural light. Love that they roast their own coffee and my drip coffee was good. I like that they have honey for sweetener and they let you prep your coffee independently. It's a small place with a bit of a line, but they served everyone quickly and efficiently. Also looks like they have a window you can walk up to on the outside of the building which keeps up with the efficiency.

This place is my new go to study spot. Both their drip coffee and espresso blend are delicious. The employees are incredibly kind and provide great customer service. I love seeing their connections with regular customers. The atmosphere of the cafe is very relaxed and intimate. With drip coffee, they provide free refills while you're hanging out which is incredibly helpful to keep me going during study streaks. read more

Small coffee shop with limited seating...ten or so at most indoors with a picnic bench on the west side, sitting in gravel. They have cookies and muffins and I was very happy to find they have gluten free muffins that are beautifully fluffy and moist. They had pumpkin cranberry and bran. She did say they occasionally have a gluten free cookies as well. The coffee is from local roasters and the espresso is decent. They sell the beans in roasts from light to dark by the bag. The prices are typical for lattes and americanos. The baristas are very friendly and helpful. read more

When you walk in the smell is simply delicious. Circa 1999 coffee shop classic! The blended chai with espresso shots and espresso whipped cream is so tasty it is worth the drive even for East Portlanders. Thanks team! read more

Coffee is okay. Baristas are average, nothing special. The vibe is a very modern typical coffee shop. They ran out of coffee and said they would give my mom a refill since her cup was half full, but they never came back over and gave her more. Not a lot of pastry options, but I don't believe that is their focus. Not an awful place by any means but I would try other coffee shops in the area. read more

I always liked this shop, however, today the shop was filled with maskless customers and the Barista was also not wearing a mask, as they made our coffee. I also believe that Washington State doesn't currently allow indoor dining, let alone without masks and with many customers to a table. I'm very very disappointed in this place. read more

Courteous, friendly service. I stopped in to buy a pound of coffee to give as a gift. They have a nice selection of whole beans. There were a few customers enjoying their conversations and there are plenty of seats. There were two people working the counter and seemed to have it under control. There are also lots of delicious looking desserts. I hope to visit when the weather is nicer and sit on their Adirondack chairs placed on the lawn near the sidewalk. read more

It's about time that the east Vancouver/Camas area gets good coffee! Delicious coffee and great selection of alternate milks (oat milk FTW). Maybe not the best place to get a lot of work done since it's pretty small and busy, but a great place to hang out and enjoy a perfect cup. read more

I've now been to Hidden River more times than I can count so this review is past due but also accurate :). Every time I have been in the shop it has been clean! The staff is terrific, always willing and happy to make modifications and they have always been cheery and helpful even when busy. I've had black tea, drip coffee, a decaf americano (which was surprisingly tasty), mocha, eggnog latte, and oat milk latte. They were all just right. In regard to poor reviews due to individual decisions to wear a mask or not, this is not a reflection of their excellent service or great coffee which is what they are there providing. This place is so adorable and right behind the Camas library. And reasonably priced! The employees are very sweet and they make delicious coffee. They didn't have soy milk so i tried their oat milk and my sugar free vanilla latte tasted amazing!! I will most definitely be coming here again and brining my friends. read more

I've always enjoyed going to Hidden River Roasters because of their good food, rich coffee, and friendly service. I visited recently, though, and didn't feel safe. Neither the staff nor the majority of the customers were wearing masks, and people were crowded around the counter placing orders and awaiting their food and coffee. I won't be back until the threat of the corona viris has ended. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops on the Vancouver side. The inside looks like a small house that has lots of tables, and chairs. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and often plays Christian music. Baristas are super friendly and willing to remake your drink if you don't like it. Would definitely recommend. read more

I've been to a lot of small coffee places around the country and we finally have the best darn coffee in our own backyard. They took over a small house next to Lutz Hardware (lucky guys ). They expanded the outdoor seating to convert the old driveway into a garden patio with picnic tables. Now for the coffee: I love the fact that they do their own roasting and it makes a world of difference in the flavor. It is soooooooo smooth - hot OR cold. This is a quaint and lovely coffee shop with delicious espresso!! The pastries are delicious and the shop has the best atmosphere! The hardest part of being there for me was a barista Debbie was very hostile toward me when asking questions about me would give very passive aggressive comments. Best caramel macchiato I have ever had! Love the atmosphere in the shop also. Normally, I just drink regular decaf coffee but there is nothing regular about Hidden River Roasters coffee. Because I don't live close to the coffee shop, I buy their beans, grind them as needed and have the best coffee ever. It is smooth, not biting and makes me feel mellow when drinking it. I don't want the famous coffee anymore. I want Hidden River Roasters coffee. read more

We are a breathe of fresh air in the middle of downtown Camas, we offer a relaxing place for you and your family to come and sit for a while while savoring fresh coffee that we roast ourselves and baked goods baked in our bakery on-site that will surely make your taste buds giddy! Yes, it's a thing and yeah the flavor sensations you'll experience really do exist but only here at our Hidden River oasis. We offer in-house baked pastries and a good sized menu as well as non coffee drinks. We carry wheat free items for those who aren't into the gluten. Those are baked on-site as well by our bakers so we know that the quality is impeccable and the ingredients are what they should be. Come and gather with family and friends, or for a moment to yourself! When the sun is out and the sky stops leaking we have a large amount of outdoor seating amongst a bamboo forest, alright it's not a forest but they are growing and getting much bigger, or on the front lawn just like home. You won't find fresher coffee and warmer hearts anywhere! We're here for you, come find your Hidden River!

History

Established in 2016.

Hidden River Roasters started in 2016 as a passion for roasting specialty coffees blossomed into an obsession to provide it for everyone and anyone with the desire to find pure coffee bliss. In 2018 we opened our coffeehouse in historic downtown Camas in a house that is truly part of the real history of how Camas came to be. We are in an awesome house that was built in 1910 and lived in by two generations of the family that brought our beloved building into being. Drop in and see where families have gathered since the turn of last century and try one of our coffees roasted in our own facility. It may not be onsite anymore but it is ours and only a stones throw away in Washougal. We could only fit so much equipment in our little old roastery. We didn't just abandoned the old roastery though, it is now our onsite bakery where we bake all of our scrumptious treats daily for your taste delight. We are family owned and operated, if you come in I'm sure you'll see at least one or us!

Meet the Business Owner: Brandon P.

Hidden River Roasters is a family owned company that I started in 2016. I started the company when I was looking for the best cup of coffee I could find and I realized that I would have to do it myself. I knew that I would have to control the process from sourcing, roasting, and training of our crew to prepare the coffee if my quest was to be successful. Turns out I was right! We officially opened the doors to our coffeehouse in Camas on January 18, 2018. We live in and love this community and take great pride in roasting the best coffee you can find anywhere each day. We know you'll find our coffeehouse to be that sanctuary of coffee bliss you have dreamed of for so long. Please come and visit us to enjoy a truly amazing cup of coffee! They have breakfast items (love the strata!) and cookies and banana bread. And they are GOOD gluten free. They rotate some items even. The seasonal cookie right now is a chocolate cookie with mint frosting. Moist cookie. Frosting doesn't taste like toothpaste. Super good. Today I got the Maple Vanilla latte to go with it. Made with oatmilk. It's a great flavor. The baristas are always friendly. The wait isn't too long. There is a drive thru and a walk up window at this location. But it is in the complex with Oak Tree Station, so you could take your treats over there and sit by the fire if you wanted to. Highly recommend all the Red Leaf locations. I'm glad this one is on the East side of town.

Don't get me wrong, I love talking to the baristas there, but sometimes it can be more like an interview than a conversation. When one of the barista posted about Kokomo Espresso, my girlfriend said that we should go. I figured why not, a change from the norm. When we rolled up to Kokomo Espresso for the first time, there was a lovely barista named Lauren there to take our order. She didn't have any of the overwhelming energy you would find at Dutch Bros, she was just a genuinely sweet person. She took our order, and was very helpful in choosing the flavors and type of beverage. The first thing I would like to point out is the price: Dutch Bros has been increasing the price of their drinks, incrementally throughout the last few years, to the point where a large Rebel (32oz) will set you back almost $8.00, but a large Lotus (32oz) is only $7.00, saving you a dollar per visit. The flavor is also super refreshing, and I feel somewhat healthier (as healthy as one can while drinking an energy drink) consuming it. Since the Lotus is a plant-based energy syrup, as opposed to a Rebel, which is not, it's technically at least a little bit healthier for you. The flavors also definitely stick out a lot more than the Rebel, as the Lotus base has a much less overpowering taste than the acidic Rebel. Overall, I couldn't possible recommend Kokomo Espresso enough. This is absolutely going to be my new home coffee shop, and I'm happy to call it that. I strongly recommend everyone to go give them a shot!

We would get all 3 again. Camas Market also has grocery items like fresh fruit, vegetable, drinks, pasta, rice, snacks, etc. I would stop here again to try more of their delicious pastries!

Good coffee. Too bad they choose to make a political statement with their coffee shop. It's so unbelievably selfish not to comply with simple, commonsense practices like requiring your customers to wear a mask indoors, in accordance with the indoor mask *mandate* now in effect in Washington state. They posted this bizarre statement on the front door, which I'm sure has no legal merit whatsoever. I sat outside and watched multiple customers go in and out without masks. If I had known the owners were rightwing nut jobs, I would've gone elsewhere, but I already had my coffee by the time I figured out what was going on. If you are unvaccinated or have unvaccinated children, stay away from this place. If you are a selfish prick whose idea of "freedom" includes the freedom to infect people around you with a deadly disease, I guess this is the place for you. read more

Cutest coffee shop in our small town! I love the live edge tables and free wifi! The owner of Hidden River is the kindest, most giving person and is the first to donate coffee for community events, fundraisers, first responders, and pretty much anyone who asks. They even donated proceeds of their sales to those affected by last summer's wildfires. If you went to this coffee shop with pennies on your pocket they would offer you a warm cup of coffee, an embracing smile, and a genuine listening ear. Hands down the BEST coffee in Camas! I may even say it's my favorite coffee in the greater Camas /Vancouver area. As someone with a lot of food allergies, I was also thrilled to find that they carry oat milk. If you haven't tried this in a latte, I highly suggest it. Delicious! Today was my last day visiting this establishment. It's really unfortunate that this place has decided to make such a huge deal of its opposition to COVID safeguards. I'll spend my money at pro-social establishments that are interested in actually helping end the pandemic, not in those who want to throw tantrums about masks and mask mandates. read more

I'm no coffee snob, but have friends that are that assure me the coffee is superb. Love their drinks, their snacks, and the ambience. Hard to find a more friendly and genuine staff. Hands down our favorite cafe. Now if they could only find another good provider of bone broth to serve. They used to have one, but that company closed down. read more
