Coming to hideaway during breakfast or happy hour is a treat. I've had their breakfast pizza, burrito, pretzel, subs, a bunch of their sides, it's really good. I think I've gotten their tomato soup 3 times already, and am looking for more!

This use to be the best taco spot for cheap tacos & drinks lol back in the day IYKYK . Their decor was so cute & nostalgic. We came in for breakfast- the Greek yogurt bowl was great w/granola & berries & honey. They have cool kids toys to play with which was awesome. And my niece had the breakfast burrito which she said was super tasty. I'd like to come back & try more on the lunch/dinner menu side. The service was pretty superb, ladies were super attentive & friendly.

Just had such a great experience here! I got the hideaway burger (10/10) and some drinks. The burger was one of the best I've had here in San Diego and the bartenders working were so nice and attentive. Jasmine and Gage - thank you!

The Hideaway in Pacific Beach is the perfect San Diego beach vibe you want in SoCal. It's all open air, the staff is amazing, the bar food is elevated and the cocktails are just enough to have a proper cocktail or a great beer or RBV It's absolutely one of our favorites in PB and we go at least once or twice every time we make it to San Diego. The decor is very cool retro. All the old school stuff you enjoyed back in the day you'll find strewn about in every room. There are tons of cool nooks and cranny rooms where you can chill with your crew. You can even grab one with a fire pit which is fun in the always perfect 70's'ish weather. When you're in San Diego in the Mission/Pacific Beach area the Hideaway is a must. Just go and be happy. You'll thank us . Salute @thejohnnycocktail

The Hideaway: Surf Vibes and Slow Entrees in Mission Beach If you're looking for a spot where "Endless Summer" meets "Mad Men," The Hideaway in Mission Beach hits the mark. Here is the breakdown of a recent Thursday night visit. The Atmosphere & Service We arrived around 7:30 PM to a buzzing house. Despite the crowd--which skewed notably younger and high-energy--the wait for a table was a manageable 15 minutes. The decor is a standout feature: a seamless blend of surf culture and mid-century modern design that feels both nostalgic and trendy. The staff were genuinely friendly, keeping the mood light even as the dining room stayed packed. The Food & Drink The kitchen's timing was a bit of a mixed bag. Our drinks and salads arrived almost immediately, but there was a significant "dead zone" of waiting before the main plates hit the table. * Arugula & Fennel Salad: Fresh and decent, though it was a bit "dry" for my taste; it could have used a more generous pour of dressing. * Classic Steak Frites: Perfectly seasoned with great flavor. * Garlic Fries: The star of the side dishes. They paired exceptionally well with the blue cheese dipping sauce, which was a nice (and bold) departure from standard ketchup. * Short Ribs: Decent. While not an oversized "diner portion," the serving size fell a bit short for the price point. The Verdict Overall Experience: A decent meal in a fantastic setting. While the delay between the starters and entrees was noticeable, the quality of the steak Frites and those garlic fries made the wait easier to swallow.

The Hideaway is a large primarily bar/lounge focused restaurant on Mission Boulevard that is located super close to Crystal Pier. It is cute inside and has a cozy bungalow-esque aesthetic. Think a mix of high and low tables, shelves with games, tchotchkes, and books and multiple rooms. A bustling bar scene, tvs galore, and happy customers... what more could you want? They also have a parking lot, but on nice days it will likely be full... the good thing is, if you get a spot in the lot, they'll validate your parking! We came here with another couple early on Saturday night with our early bird (lol) reservation of 5:15. We were seated immediately in a nice & comfortable table/booth. We immediately noticed that the crowd skews young but honestly, that was fine by me, even though most of them would probably consider me an "old." It was packed inside and even this early, the place had a lively and fun atmosphere. Ellie was our lovely and attentive server, and even though she was busy, she did a good job of communicating with our table & she made sure that we were happy with everything!. Thanks, Ellie! The food and drinks were very good! Honestly, the food was way better than I expected based on other reviews I'd read. We had the lobster roll, hideaway burger, all American burger & fried chicken sandwich all with either truffle fries or regular fries. No one opted for a side salad. Oh well. We did start with the tempura cauliflower though, so there's that. Heh. Oh & the drinks! I really enjoyed Hideaway's version of a mai Tai - and they came with a souvenir glass! The drinks are good albeit pricey. So yes, this is a great place for a night out with your friends (or frenemies) because maybe you'll have such a great time here that you just are happy to be alive and in the company of great people. Verdict: the food is tasty and the drinks hit harder than a mantis shrimp & yeah, it's the kind of place that'll set you up for a good time. Plus it is two minutes from one of the best beaches in California & my favorite, so, what are you waiting for? Mahalo.

Hideaway at Pacific Beach is a gorgeous spot near the water with an impressive aesthetic--even the bathrooms are beautifully designed. While the Caesar salad was a bit average due to a thin dressing, the truffle fries were excellent, and the bacon egg burrito was a hit. The service truly stood out; our server was wonderful and did a great job answering all our drink questions. It's a fantastic place for a quick bite with a great atmosphere, though I'd definitely explore other menu options next time.

Lobster roll and caesar salad

Went for a late dinner and stuck around for the DJ, HIGHLY recommend to skip the long line and cover later at night. Food was decent, definitely a little overpriced but I really enjoyed the lobster roll! The caesar salad and french fries were just ok, fries were a bit soggy. But we don't really go to Hideaway for the food, we go for the drinks and great music! I had a paloma with dinner which was very good. Around 9/10pm they clear out most of the tables for the dance floor and always have an excellent DJ. The crowd is VERY young, but music is great when you just want a place to go dance!

My friend and I came for happy hour. We shared spicy Korean wings & the giant pretzel. I got a spicy pomegranate margarita and she got rosé. Everything was so good! They had the heated fire lamps on so it was still nice to sit outside. Service was good. I'd definitely come back!

Absolutely loved Hideaway but come early for dinner because it gets packed! The lobster roll was super fresh & the truffle fries were some of the best I've had. The service was great too!

Hideaway can get too busy for its own good at times. They appear to be trying their best so that is good. I highly recommend sitting at the bar for eats or drinks or eats & drinks. Bar service is forever top notch. Waitress service can have you pulling out your hair. I've only had waitress service once and most def never will again. The food items are always a hit. I've tried many many items on the menu. My latest was the half chicken. It was delicious!!!! I recommend the mash potatoes side w/veggies. I gave the mac n chez side a go but it was a tasteless letdown. The happy hour drink specials are plentiful while very tempting. Atmosphere is lively. Do yourself a favor and chill at the bar.

Truffle fries and The Chicken Sandwich The brown bottle with the eye dropper has hot sauce in it

The service was good. There's no rush in here with the laidback San Diego vibe. I had the Chicken Sandwich and my girl had the Lobster roll. The chicken sandwich won! The open air layout was absolutely amazing with the light breeze coming through. Very fun atmosphere.

I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the friendly bar tender, and are instructed to take a seat anywhere you'd like. The menu is available via QR code, and you order both your food and drinks at the bar. At the time we came in there weren't many people, but a crowd started gathering after about 30 minutes or so, which was nice! Our food came out - with a decent amount of wait time - and it looked great! We ordered a couple of cocktails from the menu as well, which we got right away. I had gotten something similar to an Espresso Martini, but the drink fell short in both the taste and the presentation. My beer battered fish tacos were good, but nothing extraordinary. I believed they lacked a bit of taste...perhaps seasoning? The jam burger on the other hand, extremely juicy and flavorful! The fries were nice and crispy & seasoned. Overall, the food and drink were a bit inconsistent, but it may also very well be the items I ordered. For that, I'm docking it one star, but again it may come down to my taste buds and previous items I've had from other grills. I'd definitely give it a try, again, and keep exploring their menu.
