Absolutely phenomenal. I've been in San Diego all week and have eaten at several restaurants, and this was by far the best meal I've had. The seafood was incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. I actually stumbled upon this place by accident after I first stopped at Ms. B's Coco Shop down the block, but they had closed their kitchen a little earlier than I expected. Shaq recommended I give this place a try and even walked me over to introduce me to Ben. Ben gave outstanding seafood recommendations, was incredibly friendly, and knew the menu inside and out. I was already leaning toward what I ordered, and he reassured me I was making a great choice. His knowledge of the menu and genuine hospitality made the experience even better. The lobster and shrimp roll was hands down the best I've had in years. The mahi slider was just as impressive--perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded, and fried to perfection without the excessive batter that so many places use. Every bite let the fresh fish shine through. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a beach bar--laid-back, welcoming, and fun. It felt like the kind of place where you could spend the day at the beach, walk over for a drink and some amazing food, and just relax. The entertainment setup was impressive too, with huge TVs and a really cool in-wall fireplace-style display. I can only imagine this place is the spot to be on game day. Overall, this is now at the top of my list whenever I'm craving seafood in San Diego. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more

Stopped by Guava Beach on a walk with friends to grab a margarita and was not disappointed! This spot is a great stop during the day in Mission Beach! In addition to classic margaritas, Guava Beach also has a variety of unique margaritas! I ordered the Pink Dragon made with Nosotros Reposado, Triple Sec, dragon fruit syrup, Guava Beach's own custom-made margarita mix with a black lava salt rim and topped with a dragon fruit wheel garnish - sooo good! They also have an extensive cocktail list. We got some appetizers, including the waffle fries (massive portions) and chips and guacamole, which were both delicious! Wow! Came to watch WC and the GM was so mean to us we left. The person sitting next to us also had the same experience and said "we aren't tipping" and left. We had a group of eight who sent us over to get a table while they finished getting ready, literally live across the street. We had already ordered food and he came over and said "You'd better order food ladies!" Food was yummy as always. He kept coming over and being rude to us, and the tables around us. Our waiter was apologizing and said it had been a really hard weekend. Poor guy, We tipped him, it wasn't his fault. He was the one who was losing tips because of the GM's behavior towards his tables. It got so bad there was no way I was going to spend another dime there so we paid our bill, and texted everyone to stay at the house. We went across the street and grabbed pizza to go and we all had a great time watching the game at home. Wow--another great find in Mission Beach! The server (who was also the bartender) was incredibly friendly and helpful. We stopped by in that in-between time after lunch and before happy hour, and it ended up being the perfect moment to visit. The drinks were delicious--so much so that we were tempted to order more, but since we were bar-hopping for the rest of the evening, we had to pace ourselves. We're definitely looking forward to trying more of their cocktails next time. The queso was one of the best I've had in town, the homemade chips had just the right amount of salt, and the taco was equally delicious. This is a great local place. They have an awesome all day HH on Monday's. The house margaritas did not disappoint either. I ordered a mahi mahi sandwich to take home, and it was excellent. As was the Ahi tuna. The ceviche looks bomb so that's next on my list. My server was top notch and friendly. The best time to go is during the week when it's more chill. We sat inside on a comfortable booth, this a casual place. Music is blasting and the servers are all friendly. We got the warm chips with great queso, salsa and guacamole. First I want to say that the staff here is great! They were super welcoming and accommodating. Decor is beachy and laid back. They had a huge TV for sports and a few smaller ones near the bar. We had been traveling all day and I was ready for a DRANK. I asked if it was still HH and was told it ended at 6pm. Just missed it but NBD. I ordered a Paloma. The waitress asked if I wanted Paloma Margarita? I said no, just a regular Paloma. What I got came in a margarita glass and either was not a Paloma or the worst one ever. Like I said I was ready for a DRANK and couldn't take more than a sip. I thought maybe the waitress would notice my drink went untouched and would ask if it was okay, but she didn't and that's fine. I wasn't looking to complain but would have appreciated being offered something different. We ordered the ceviche, which was a huge portion packed with fish and delicious, but SPICY. My friend loved it. I had a couple bites but it was too spicy for me. We also ordered the Coconut Shrimp. The shrimp were huge and beautiful but it was like they breaded and fried cooked shrimp? Idk how to explain it but the shrimp looked like it belonged in a shrimp cocktail and the breading didn't really stick to it. It was okay, but I wouldn't reorder it. For my entree I ordered a cheese burger. After she walked away I thought it was odd she didn't ask how I wanted it cooked. I prefer my burger medium well but thought it'll be fine. It was raw inside. I couldn't even eat it. The meat was so cold my cheese didn't even melt so I had a raw burger with cold cheese. Yuck. The waffle fries were hot and delicious! Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing? Idk I feel like a burger at a bar and grill is a standard but this missed the mark. The waitress never asked if my food was okay or I would have mentioned it, but that's fine. My sister and brother-in-law were visiting oour beach house on Mission Beach and we heard there was trivia on Tuesday nights and my sister and I are huge trivia fans. We got there for the start at 7:30 and the trivia was probably the best I have played. Fast and the host was great and it was over in two hours. We ordered a Cali' Cream pitcher of beer and after that a pitcher of Pizza Port IPA. $33 for the pitcher of Pizza Port "Ouch!" Seemed a little (Lot) steep. We also ordered a chips and salsa and the salsa was fantastic and the chips were warm. Really good. Nice atmosphere with a laid back group and our server was super cool. We really had fun, my only complaint would be the price of the Pizza Port Mongo beer. Next time I will try a taco on Taco Tuesdays, they had shrimp if I remember right. read more

As for our service, the waitress was great for the first 15 minutes, then nonexistent for the next 45. Wife and I had empty beers and wanted round 2,, but she never returned. Regardless, it's very possible they were understaffed, it took about 45 minutes to get our food. Based on their suggestion we ordered the Lobster and Shrimp roll to share, and it was super disappointing to be honest, especially after waiting so long. I would avoid this dish because it was pretty much all shrimp and hardly any sauce. Stick with a classic Mexican dish and I'm sure it will be a better experience. Came here recently to try somewhere different for dinner. And it was trivia night. I did not officially play but it was fun for my friend and I to play along just together. We both ordered the fajitas and they were so good. Lots of toppings and lots of me included and the price was amazing. I do feel the price of drinks was very expensive. $16 for one margarita is a lot for the Pacific Beach / Mission Beach area. So unfortunately I probably will not be going back there for drinks again but I will probably come back for the fajitas. The servers we're nice and friendly even though it was a tad slow. When it said we needed just another minute to look over the menu they probably didn't come back for close to 10 minutes and we were just sitting there with no food or drink order even taken. And this was for trivia started so the place was not busy. But I will give him a pass this time. It's street parking which can be tricky. Just know that going in. We showed up around 915 on a Thursday after a day at Legoland and quickly found out most places in the area close their kitchens around 9 and turn into bar only options which is great for people with no kids but we had 4 teenagers with us so we just went ti a a different restaurant... The next day the hubs and I made sure to get there in time to get some snacks with our beers. We sat at the bar, ordered beer (the taps are mostly local or from breweries in California) The glasses and beer are ice cold and super refreshing even on a "cold" California night. We ordered the ceviche and mozz sticks. Mozz sticks were meh just fried cheese ... lol the marinara was pretty good. The ceviche was served in an oversized martini style glass with chips. Flavor was good but man it was mostly tomato's. Mixture of ahi and shrimp (super big chunks) which was nice but once you got 1/4 of the way down the glass it was ALL tomato/cabbage (filler) so at that point it was pretty much just pico de gallo. Vibes were good. Service was good. Seemed to have quite a few locals which is always a good sign. Not a bad spot to start or end a night of bar hopping! Would definitely visit again! This was a fun sports bar to grab a late lunch at. We split their honey chipotle wings, pork nachos and our kids (and ourselves) were obsessed with their macaroni and cheese! We enjoyed ice cold beers and the cutest part was when my kids asked for their Shirley temple and chocolate milk in a "fancy cup" they found the fanciest ones and brought them to us. It was so sweet! We needed to go boxes and they also went out of their way to box up the nachos so they won't get soggy, and even gave us extra chips. Totally above and beyond service. Our experience (June 19th) was we waited to be seated as ask. The host showed us to a dirty table and I asked if we could sit somewhere else. There were a couple of clean tables. The response was sure, so we selected a clean table away from the noise. We waited for the waitstaff to service after 10 or 15 minutes we went in and asked for menus where we were told that the waiter was just coming out with water for us. We took the menus went back to our table and waited. The waitstaff looked after everyone around us and cleaned tables. we still did it received our water or even an acknowledgment of our presence. We waited another 15-20 minutes at which point, the waitstaff serviced someone else but not us. We took the hit and left. We were not going to be served. We had shrimp tacos and lobster tacos. Both were great and had the perfect amount of cabbage and sauce in each one. The ambiance was very pretty. The kids kept watching the fish in the tanks.
