    chicken tortilla soup $8.75

Hey-these guys are open late or should I say early (2 am!). Thank you for providing drinks and food after 9pm when other establishments didn't have chow in the area. I really liked the chicken tortilla soup. Staff was crazy fun.

Wow--another great find in Mission Beach! The server (who was also the bartender) was incredibly friendly and helpful. We stopped by in that in-between time after lunch and before happy hour, and it ended up being the perfect moment to visit. The drinks were delicious--so much so that we were tempted to order more, but since we were bar-hopping for the rest of the evening, we had to pace ourselves. We're definitely looking forward to trying more of their cocktails next time. The queso was one of the best I've had in town, the homemade chips had just the right amount of salt, and the taco was equally delicious. All in all, a fantastic spot--and we can't wait to go back and sample even more.

Guava has some of the best local bar food in the area. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and consistently good. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and Mel the bartender is fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and really makes the place feel like a true neighborhood spot. Definitely one of my go-to places. Highly recommend.

    Kale Salad with grilled chicken

Kelly was an energetic and great server. We had a nice dinner here while staying in the area. There are multiple TVs going inside with sports going. We sat inside on a comfortable booth, this a casual place. Music is blasting and the servers are all friendly. We got the warm chips with great queso, salsa and guacamole. My kale and quinoa salad with grilled chicken was delicious! The salad had so much flavor and chicken added a nice touch. It was a few strips of flavorful and moist white meat. The chicken tenders were a little over done but fine. We will return if ever in the area.

I rarely visit the beach, but if I do visit PB, this is a good stop. I'd recommend this as a stop for any friends visiting that want to go to the beach. The happy hour is ideal, because beach prices can be tough. Food is great, drinks are cold, and the staff is friendly!

First I want to say that the staff here is great! They were super welcoming and accommodating. Decor is beachy and laid back. They had a huge TV for sports and a few smaller ones near the bar. We had been traveling all day and I was ready for a DRANK. I asked if it was still HH and was told it ended at 6pm. Just missed it but NBD. I ordered a Paloma. The waitress asked if I wanted Paloma Margarita? I said no, just a regular Paloma. What I got came in a margarita glass and either was not a Paloma or the worst one ever. Like I said I was ready for a DRANK and couldn't take more than a sip. I thought maybe the waitress would notice my drink went untouched and would ask if it was okay, but she didn't and that's fine. I wasn't looking to complain but would have appreciated being offered something different. We ordered the ceviche, which was a huge portion packed with fish and delicious, but SPICY. My friend loved it. I had a couple bites but it was too spicy for me. We also ordered the Coconut Shrimp. The shrimp were huge and beautiful but it was like they breaded and fried cooked shrimp? Idk how to explain it but the shrimp looked like it belonged in a shrimp cocktail and the breading didn't really stick to it. It was okay, but I wouldn't reorder it. For my entree I ordered a cheese burger. After she walked away I thought it was odd she didn't ask how I wanted it cooked. I prefer my burger medium well but thought it'll be fine. It was raw inside. I couldn't even eat it. The meat was so cold my cheese didn't even melt so I had a raw burger with cold cheese. Yuck. The waffle fries were hot and delicious! Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing? Idk I feel like a burger at a bar and grill is a standard but this missed the mark. The waitress never asked if my food was okay or I would have mentioned it, but that's fine. Again I was not looking to complain or anything I just wanted a good meal and strong drink after traveling all day and to kick off my vacation.

This is a must stop if you are in Mission Beach. It's the best blend of casual and delicious dining. Sarah, our server, was attentive and so helpful. If you come here make sure to get the Mahi Mahi plate- it had the best coconut rice and the fish was flaky and delicious. My friend also highly recommended the veggie tacos. So far this has been our favorite restaurant from our visit to San Diego!

Swing by every time we visit. Can't beat the Guava-Rita margaritas. Also had some chips and queso dip. Super friendly staff, Sidewalk seating available as well as indoors. Fun ambiance. All the games on big screen TVs. Highly recommend!

Good service , good food and a very homey feel to this bar restaurant. We had fajitas and tacos with a trio of salsa, guac, and queso with chips. All in all very tasty. The steak being my fav. Nothing like good Mexican food and a cold beer to make your day.

Good ass burger and smash burger they really took care of us. I think this place deserves five stars. Goodbye good environment. Good owner.

Super chill place..... came after the World Cup... 5 stars. Good owner, good vibes hell yeah #go USA

First time visit with my boyfriend. We came in on a Saturday around 1:30 pm, so it was a little busy but not too bad. Regardless, it's very possible they were understaffed, it took about 45 minutes to get our food. Based on their suggestion we ordered the Lobster and Shrimp roll to share, and it was super disappointing to be honest, especially after waiting so long. I would avoid this dish because it was pretty much all shrimp and hardly any sauce. Stick with a classic Mexican dish and I'm sure it will be a better experience. The waffle fries, and (huge) Pink Dragon margarita was delish tho! And the staff were still very friendly. I've heard great things about the fajitas, trying this next if we return.

I loved the stained glass lights at the booths we sat at, they were super cute! We played foosball for a dollar which was fun while it lasted but it didn't give us enough balls to play an entire game. It's been pretty hot in sd and this place has a lot of large open windows that were all open, I usually love that feature but it was an abnormally humid night so we were all pretty hot and sweaty inside. Food was good with affordable prices too, we came here quite late at night, so we were limited to only their late-night menu, but everything was quite tasty, typical bar food. Our standout favorite was the maple sriracha wings for $10.61, their flavor is exactly like described and was a good balance of sweet and spicy! The Butter Burger $10.57 was good too but I think too rich and heavy for me. The prices were great tho! Parking is pretty terrible as is typical for downtown, but we walked from Punch Bowl Social and had Ubered to there at the beginning of the night. ---- Overall: a cool place to hangout, drink, and grab a bite late at night, I'm sad about not being able to play a whole game of foosball, but a generally great time

I actually ended up calling the Tavern and Bowl to see if they had any earlier reservations and they told me if the person who requested an earlier time didn't pay the deposit I'd get the time slot. I am so lucky because these people didn't pay their deposit and we got the time and the lane. Cute thing, you can actually have kids come too, my niece who is 5 got to come along and they had a little device for her so she can push the ball, she ended up beating me.
