Returned it and got another one just for it to have only one channel playing. Paid $75 plus tax for it. When I went to return it I used $60 for records and the rest was to be paid out in cash yet I didn't receive back the tax I paid in my refund so they profited $8 and change off me. Really not happy I had to drive an hour 3 separate times to return a tape deck twice that didn't work when everything is guaranteed to work and I didn't even get back the full amount I paid. I'm familiar with Record Stop, I go to a vinyl night every two weeks with members of a facebook group called 8 o'clock shot and the guy who spins records Tom sort of represents record stop. I had been here once in the summer but didn't really get a chance to properly look around. I love records but I only have one. I'm trying my hardest to not collect much because currently I live in a small space and when my son and I can move out of my father's house we'll still be living in a small space. It was still nice to browse the records for sale. They also have other music related merchandise besides records. Tons of musical action figures, a small selection of books, T-shirts, patches. I bought my boyfriend a Kiss Flask for his birthday. His birthday isn't until August but sometimes you see something early and you just need to grab it. I'll also be buying him more than just a flask but for now it's a good start on a birthday that's still a few months away. And I was happy to purchase something to give record stop some business. The flask was also a pretty decent price giving me more budget room to buy other things. If you're around Patchogue and you're a music lover or a vinyl lover record stop is the place to go!

I like to stop in after getting a haircut at the barber or picking up a cheese at next-door shops, and sift through the racks. I'm only interested in 1960s, 1970s and 1980s used LPs and picky about condition and a bit of a vinyl cheapskate, so I bypass some of their stock that seems a bit too scratched up, but I always find a couple of gems in great shape for $3 each.

The staff that were there gave us space to explore the place and asked if we needed help finding anything. Then they started having a conversation with my boyfriend about a record that was playing in the store. I ended up purchasing for pins for myself and he got some records. They have $5 bins and some exclusive records available. I say check them out & see what you can grab... The manager also told us about a show that he had and we actually tuned in to hear and his taste in music is great! The passion for music in this place is really refreshing.

The store itself was a bit smaller rhan expected, but still had a good selection of RSD releases still available, including all the ones I wanted. Staff was very friendly with me and gave me time to peruse their inventory to my liking. The only reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is there is much greater variety in their used vinyl than new vinyl... I don't have anything against buying used, but I prefer to buy new if I can, and their new record selection is a fraction of what they have used. That said, I still was able to find something else recently released that was not a RSD Black Friday exclusive, and at 20 percent off to boot! Will definitely go again to peruse their selection next time I'm in town.
