I made reservations at Hideout125 one month in advance for my partner's surprise birthday dinner. Our reservation was for 11/28 at 7 p.m., and our guests arrived on time--only to end up waiting 24 minutes before being seated. When my partner and I arrived, two men standing outside (whom we had never met) greeted us by saying, "Oooooh, you're late. They've been waiting on you," which immediately felt uncomfortable. Once inside, we learned from our guests that they had been treated poorly by the owner. They told us he had questioned them about our arrival time, claimed he was "losing revenue" because we weren't there yet, and even attempted to remove a table and four chairs from our group to seat another party. My partner and I left the table to speak directly with the owner. When she explained how his tone and comments had affected our guests and asked for an apology, he dismissed her concern by saying, "That's neither here nor there. I am here to help you," before giving the most monotone and insincere apology we've ever heard. The entire experience was incredibly disappointing. The owner's behavior cast a shadow over what was meant to be a special birthday celebration. Because of this, we will not be returning. read more

We had a surprise dinner planned on 11/28/25 @ 7pm for my best friend. This was booked a month prior. I arrived at 6:53 only to be told the table was still being set up -- which was okay. It was a busy night and our guest of honor wasn't expected until a bit later. We were escorted to the table some time after our reservation slot. We had only been seated maybe 15-20 minutes before the owner came over. At first, he was pleasant and asked us how our night was. We told him we were waiting on our guest of the night to arrive, as it was a surprise dinner. He then asked us about removing the extra seats & tables that weren't filled -- which we were okay with but asked him to wait until our guest arrived. It hadn't been that long and we wanted to make sure no one else was arriving. He then began grilling us about how he was losing revenue and how our guest was 35 minutes late to the party. Mind you -- we didn't get sat at our table until after our reservation time. The guests mother then asked him if he'd like to lose more revenue. I mean, we were having a good time laughing, then he just came over and BLEW the whole vibe. Again, we told him we just wanted to wait until she arrived then yes, he could take the extra tables and chairs. He had this condescending tone about him. So I just asked him for 10 more minutes & he just walked away -- as I checked my best friend's location and they were pulling up to the establishment. Once the guest arrived, I explained what happened and asked her what she'd like to do. She went to speak to the owner and reported back to the table. The owner lied, saying he didn't mention "losing revenue" to us, wouldn't give us an apology and was very smug about the whole situation. Apparently, he was also complaining so loud, that other patrons said something to our guest when they arrived & other guests walking in were looking at us as they were seated. We decided against patronizing a restaurant who has an owner that treats their patrons this way & left. The wait staff was WONDERFUL and we tipped him well on some drinks we had while this fiasco unfolded. I had never ate there and was excited -- as I heard the food was delicious & I always love to support a black owned business. But he will never get another dime from me. Talk about losing revenue -- you lost $500-$700 just from our table. Almost all of us spent $100+ on our meals that night. I have NEVER been treated that way at any establishment before. I was so taken back that it took me a minute to register what the hell was even unfolding. Also -- my cousin recently visited this restaurant Sunday for brunch & he was not aware of our horror story. He was one of the only few people there and even he felt as if he was being rushed -- at an empty restaurant after a snow storm. I am just disappointed all around. Not to mention embarrassed because he had other patrons eyeballing us as if we didn't belong. I have worked in customer service for almost 10 years. This was PISS POOR customer service. Never should patrons know you're "losing revenue" or be spoken to in that manner. On Saturday I came in and had lunch with some family. The food was great, although, a little over priced. It's good for splurging every once and awhile. The service was exceptional. The reason for the 3 star review is because the man who I would assume is a manager, was not very quiet in the way he spoke to his employees. We could hear him yelling at the employees from our table. It is disappointing that this fine dining experience was short of the price we had to pay. I have been a patron of the hideout for years and have enjoyed the atmosphere, food and ambiance. I have eaten at the new location twice, in the bar,and although loud, it was great food and drinks. I tried to make a reservation today, (9/17) for dinner on 10/8. It was for a party of 6. I was told that you only have tables for 4 FOR THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT. I asked if they could put 2 tables together and was told that they only have "a few" that could be put together and those "few" have reservations at 6:30 so that wouldn't work. I was offered the banquet room. This isn't a wedding reception. This is a dinner out with some of my staff from Parkview. Unacceptable customer service. read more

I've never had anything bad from here and yes it is my favorite restaurant! I usually sit at the bar which is cozy and inviting. I enjoy occasionally going with others, but when I go by myself I get the opportunity to just take in all of the wonderful flavors of the food and drinks and really enjoy it! The wait staff and bartenders are not only friendly, but kind, attentive, and very accommodating. This is a safe place and they do observe body language. I like when the bartenders give me recommendations on what to eat and sometimes I let them pick my drink! It's like getting a surprise and maybe it's fun for them?! I have tried to remember all of their names, but I'm terrible at remembering names. For brunch on Sunday, I've had the shrimp and grits. It's a bit of a spicy kick, but in good way! It was a large portion and the shrimp are huge! I took some of it home and ate it the next day and it was just as good! Tip: Don't ruin it in the microwave! The chicken and waffles are the best I've ever had! The fluffy waffles paired with the country fried chicken with the spicy garlic chili glaze and cabbage slaw are a match made in heaven! It's amazing how the flavors complement each other so well. The brussel sprouts are delicious!! The lobster rangoon flatbread is so unique and flavorful you will be pleasantly surprised at the burst of favors in your mouth! I prefer it a bit crispy so it's easier to hold when I eat it. Most recently, I had the Mahi Mahi with the black bean falafel (I could be wrong on the description but it was the feature of the day) the flavors complemented each other so well! It will have you asking how did they come up with this?!! It was filling, but it didn't give me that I'm so full I want to go to sleep or my stomach is going to burst feeling. The house salad is not your average house salad. It actually needs a better name!! I'm not a big fan of tomatoes, but I literally eat every tomato when I get this salad. My sweet and beautiful bartender chose a salted caramel martini for me to try today. I'll be honest, I'm not always a fan of salted caramel so I was hesitant, BUT I trust her judgement 100%! It was sweet and sort of creamy like a dessert! It was mixed so well, I literally couldn't taste the alcohol! I wanted another one but decided to be good. For dessert I had the beignets!!! Don't be that person that doesn't have room for dessert! ALWAYS get the beignets! Tip: you get 3 beignets if you can't eat them all, share them with your server or bartender it's like a shot of goodness that makes everyone feel warm and happy inside!! I've previously had the Prohibition punch which is always a winner if you like fruity drinks. I love martinis and I've tried the raspberry hammer, the espresso martini, and the lemon drop all definitely worth a try! If you prefer not to drink try a mocktail. All the flavor minus the alcohol. Hideout 125 is about as good as it can get in Fort Wayne for higher end steakhouses. They have some of the best cocktails in the area. The old fashioned is very good. They have solid appetizers, the charcuterie board has a spicy jam on it that's so good. The main courses are generally very good. They do a nice job on the ribeye which is what I generally order. Cooked and seasoned well. The service is always top tier which I appreciate. I did have a time where a hostess wasn't very friendly when I came in for a week night drink and didn't have a reservation but other than that it's always been top tier. The owner is always around making sure things are running smoothly. You can tell he holds a high standard. The atmosphere is nice at the new restaurant, more room for sure. I will be the guy to say I do like the ambiance of the old restaurant better but I understand the need for a bigger restaurant. All in all Hideout is a must try in Fort Wayne and it's on my Top 10 in the 260 list for a reason! read more

Came here for father's day, party of 6. Food took over 2 hours. Our order was 3 lobster rolls, a grilled chicken salad, grits and rice and French toast. I'm leaving a picture of the lobster roll because we sent it back to the kitchen and plate was returned to us. First I will start with reservations we booked for Dec 24th in the bar with a booth, it was confirmed later on. We booked the bar because it would be lively on Christmas eve. We got there and there and it was no mention of a booth in the bar so they put us on a small high top table and chairs right in the middle of everything we felt like we were in the way. Something was said to the waitress and she said we could put you in the dining room at a booth, we said yes as the table in the bar was not meant for two people having dinner. We went to the dining room it was like a morgue not Christmas eve festive but we had no choice and it was to late to go to another restaurant. We ordered two appetizers one was cheese and meat board ok at best it came with nothing to serve it with everything ended up being sticky and a mess, we said something to the waitress she eventually brought us some wet napkins the other being a lobster flat bread almost no lobster once again very messy and nothing to serve it with. My wife's meal was ok some kind of fish. I got some kind of a pork type of steak while it tasted ok it was very stringy. I felt like I should have my teeth cleaned afterwards, I wouldn't order this again. I ordered a side of asparagus wrapped in bacon... terrible the asparagus was terrible very very stringy not to be ordered again. The wait staff was friendly. This place was absolutely great! My friend and I went up here to meet up with some other friends and driving into a strip center, I was SHOCKED for how awesome this place was! They have some of the best seafood that I have had in Indiana, I am not sure what their secret is, but I was more than impressed. I started with a Tanqueray Martini and it was great. We opted out of appetizers, but the entree was phenomenal. I asked the server how she felt about the Ahi Tuna and she said it was great, I was so happy that she said that because it was more than great! It was cooked perfectly and the coating was seared just enough to create a good crust, but not overgood the center. I also got the broccoli and wasabi mashed potatoes! WOW at the wasabi mashed potatoes, I have not seen this anywhere else but they were absolutely amazing! We ended up all getting a different dessert and I was so happy that got their creme brulee, its top layer was torched perfectly and the custard was so sweet.
