First time visiting this newly opened Ace Hardware-Higginbotham Brothers. For those who don't know, Higginbotham is a historic family name here in Texas. The store has a little bit of everything you need from plumbing, hardware, electrical, wood, and even hunting and outdoors. Went in to find an outdoor shed and tool cart and had the best service! From the moment we walked in we were assured that we could take the shed that was already built! We found the perfect tool cart and one of the managers offered to help bring both items to our house since it didn't fit in our car! I almost NEVER write a review for a business good or bad but......... I just had to for the customer service I received from this company. I bought a pellet grill almost a year ago and I had an issue with the grill. I needed proof of purchase to submit a warranty claim. I called the store and the gentleman stated it would take a bit to research and locate info. He took my name and number and would call me back if/when they located proof of purchase. Within a couple hours I got a call back telling me to come into the store to pick up proof of purchase. You have won my business and I will recommend your store to everyone for the service you provide! read more

I always enjoy, and prefer, shopping at my local hardware store over one of the big box retailers. We just moved to the Liberty Hill area, and these guys had everything that I needed and more. The store was laid out cleanly, and everything was intuitively placed. The fellow at the counter was friendly. Can't ask for more, and I'll definitely be back. read more

Products are fine--good selection and reasonable pricing. Customer Service is seriously lacking, most likely Due to poor communication between floor personnel and management. Commitments by floor personnel weren't met, which I would understand if I was ever contacted to update me. Meantime I waited on a delivery that was not happening and I had to contact the store a number of times to get a status. Each time I was provided assurances that weren't met, and when I finally reached out to the store manager he was seemingly misinformed about what had been promised and acted like they were doing me a favor and I wasn't being patient. He was arrogant and showed no concern for the situation--finally provided a back-handed apology, and I gave up. Shortly after, my issue was resolved, thankfully. read more

First time I went in I had just got a new tattoo. One of the workers came up to me and my wife and asked if my wife had "christened" my new tattoo for me........we were speechless. I went back the day before the big freeze this February to get essential supplies and they were closed....this was before the roads got bad. All other businesses in the area were open and they had stacks of propane in their locked cages that people needed but could not buy because they decided to close. Very disappointing they could not find a way to open so people could get what they desperately needed. Tractor Supply and Winkleys were open. read more

i was so happy with their customer service. i went in needing a unknow part. no number just a part. these guys went waaay above and beyond. first i picked the wrong part off the shelf. it didn't fit. 2 young men started looking at it. i had picked the wrong part. one went in the back and got a second part. it didn't fit either (older model echo Trimmer head). the other young man went to the shelf and picked up a correct part. hooray!!!however i did not know how to remove the old part. they explained and helped me remove it and install the new part. this is not one of your big box stores where nobody know anything. these guys had me up and running in 15 minutes and were so polite! what a great place to shop!!no more box stores for me!!! i highly recommend these professionals!!! read more

Finally!!! A Texas-born, Texas-raised, family-owned and family-lead (via a great grandson) with good ol' fashioned values (closed on Sunday and closing early enough on Saturday to spend some recreational time with family) progressive, customer-focused hardware et al store in our area! Yep. This is one of those TRUE small businesses that is not necessarily "small" any longer, which has stood the test of time for almost 150 years by doing the "right" things day after day after day. We've shopped, now, 15 of the Higginbotham Brothers' 41 locations and, while the selection of merchandise has changed since 1881, the quality of products and service remains true and consistent today. Seriously, when was the last time you were in a Big Box Retailer; you needed help; and, you were asked, not IF you needed help, but HOW you could be helped??? If you're like me, just being asked about being helped would be nice every once in a while. (Instead, it seems, we've got to near hunt down an orange/blue vest; press the little button and await the intercom's announcement; or, trek to another department or -- even worse -- trek the dreaded Service Desk. And, even then, there a very, very good chance the service you received is not helpful, at all.) But, back to the question ... One is a close-ended question that allows the employee a 50/50 chance to walk away, while the other near-guarantees that the employee will be engaged with you for the duration of your visit. In my case, I had long-wanted an excuse to shop this latest Higginbotham Brothers opening, when I was met with the same excellent customer service as in Brady, Coleman, Comanche, Dublin, Hamilton, Stephenville, etc. The manager even offered -- right there on the floor -- to take down my name and telephone number, so that he could order more of what I needed and let me know, personally, when it had arrived. Wow. Just plain ol' ... Wow. If you visit these stores, you will not be disappointed, as there's not only a plethora of name brands, but also unique items, as well.
