Bought another parakeet since I had one at home for over a year and the bird from the store died within the week. Luckily we separated out the birds so our other one didn't get sick. The birds are only covered for 2 days after purchase, so we were unable to get a replacement, will not be buying from here again. The cow ears they had in buckets also had roaches when we had last gone. read more

Have always enjoyed coming here for all my pets needs but after this last visit I will no longer be spending any money there. Never seen this worker before and when we asked a question she looked at us then says WHAT very rudely. We ask again and say can we know the prices as well. She says that they are very picky in who they sell the pets to then proceeds to walk away. Could have been a little friendlier about it and said there is a screening process or something and the prices they charge but no she just straight out said that in a snotty way and my daughter decided right then that she didn't want to buy her pet supplies there any longer. This business is a locally owned and operated family business and they are very good at their business. They have an extensive line of product for every pet need, and a large stock of birds, chicks, fish and all manner of pet care and food items, including those that may make some squeamish, like mice and crickets for feeding your snakes and ??? The are also quite knowledgeable about all things pet related and well worth the time spent there. Wife and I are new to the area and need to find somewhere to get our feeders for our reptiles but called here to see what their prices were before driving 30 minutes to their store. The lady on the phone was very rude and interrogating my wife whether or not we were trying to compare prices to other stores or trying to learn their prices in order to use against them. Came here again to give them another try and same old attitude from female employee. I didn't see the correct price on an item and she got an attitude with me. I seriously want to support local business but the lady who works here and probably might be the owner is so rude. She already had bagged my item and she took it out of the bag and grabbed the bag out of the counter like it was a big bother to her. No I was not taking the brown paper bag nor do I wanted to take it. I can't help it that I had trouble seeing the price. Every time I've came it seemed like no one wanted to help us. Spent over 250 dollar over within a 2 week period. bought a fire shrimp and a six striped wrasse yesterday 7/5/20 . The six striped wrasse survived but the shrimp was dead in the morning. $70 dollar shrimp, gone. I called this morning, to see if they can do anything and she said "I'm sorry it must of been your tank. I'm truly sorry we can't do anything about it". read more

Today I decided to go to this pet store recommend by a older (white) friend .I took my 2 kids after long hours at work and went in my LVN uniform . I had my 4yr and 11yr who are diagnosed with Autism but are high functioning and my 4yr also is diagnosed with ADHD. It can be difficult for us at times to go to public places but today we were having a good day and thought it would be a great idea to look at all the pets early in the morning when it's not busy and possibly adopt one .I was also in need of a siphon to change my fish tank water. So I drove from Ana Verde /west Palmdale to ave Q .Upon entering an older senior man wich im assuming is the owner greeted me and I asked how much would it be for a nail trim for my chihuahua. I wasn't sure if he was really unable to hear me even thou I speak 3 different languages I know my English is legit I'm a born and raised US citizen white40%/20%Asian/40%latina/"hispanic". I had to repeat myself a few times and asked him about the siphon.They were about $17 I told him okay "let me walk around but I will most definitely purchase it".The kids and I were actually enjoying ourselves walking around the store looking at their variety of animals and supplies. My son like I mentioned has ADHD so there was a few time he would go to the front where there was a soda machine and back to look at the fish again. I had to keep up with him while my daughter and I were considering adopting a guinea pig but as we were in that section I over heard a women who might of been an employee/acquaintance/owner with the older man and were having a conversation about someone who was (Hispanic)she clearly said something about "Hispanic "and it didn't sound positive. I don't think is appropriate having this types of conversation in front of costumers who are from different ethnic backgrounds especially in the AV where I'm sure you have "Hispanic" customers. Anyway he didn't seem to have ANY hearing issues when it came to having a conversation with the sandy blonde women who eyeballed me 2x . I still ignored all the red flags kept considering if I should adopt a guinea pig my daughter and I really liked.I then noticed the older man after finishing his conversation he now had his newspaper in hand in the aisle we in were from a distance I already knew he had his eye on us . My son had grabbed a cheap peanut plushie dog toy from a bin while we were looking at the guinea pigs I told him we weren't taking it since our dogs are seniors. I had placed it by the bird section (BIG MISTAKE) at the moment I didn't think anything of it . Once we were ready we deceide on getting a goldfish and walked up to the older man when he was at the register thats when it seemed he had a hearing issue with me again leaning over when I had just observed how well he had checked out the other paying (white) costumers. After the second time I asked for assistance to get a fish he went to get the employee that was there ,she had a whatever attitude as well but I didn't pay no mind to her either I just knew I wouldn't be coming back to shop here again . She took the fish to the front and we were ready to check out my son even picked out some Skittles from the counter and while I was in the middle of paying with my debit card the older man decided to approach my DAUGHTER not ME and asked if my son had put that cheap peanut shaped 8" dog toy back? SERIOUSLY??!!!you have to be kidding!!! I told him" YES" he didn't seem to stuggle to hear me this time and then he said "I DON'T SEE IT" basically implying we still had it my daughter had shorts with a fitted shirt and my son had tight joggers with a fitted shirt you can clearly see they weren't concealing anything so what I had it under my LVN uniform??!!.I had to tell my daughter to go get that cheap toy wich I had left by bird section and give it to him in his HAND before he thinks we're STEALING !!! That should of been enough for me to just cancel the transaction and walk away , I regret not doing so ! I still paid $12 for the fish & $1.29 for the Skittles I guess I was in a state of shook. I did manage to keep my composure and I said" I don't need this I get paid $20hrs" and walked out . I had to explained to my daughter this is a perfect example on how it is not okay to treat others this way . Thankfully no one else was there to witness the humiliation. I work hard for my money I'm not a thief and niether are my kids. I now look at my goldfish as a reminder on the trouble I went thro to get him/her. Update : The establishment has messaged me with an apology and informed me that the older man is indeed the owner and a vet and has fought for our country and dose have hearing difficulties . I THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE as an army family myself . However if you can please prevent this from happening in the future with your costumers that would be great. read more

I love the atmosphere of this place, but it's a pretty pricey pet shop. I own 6 turtles, 1 sand boa, 2 dogs and 1 chameleon so you can tell that it get's a little stuffy money wise when it comes to caring for my animals. I'm use to 20 crickets for $1! in the valley and here it's 12/$1 I believe. A fuzzy comes out to 2 bucks with all the tax and I'm use to paying $1. The care of the animals looks great and the place is cute, plus the owner knows his information. I'm just all about price and the prices here didn't call my name.. read more

i have 6 pet rats that i have bought from here previously who r all well and happy. i always have a positive experience, and if you're buying rats for pets that have a large selection of small rats from top eared, dumbo, rex, spotted!! there was a nice gentlemen who worked in there and actually said he used to own ratties for pets as well and gave me a discount card for next time i visit (: getting the rats here r rescuing and changing these fur babies lives!! they allow u to take ur time to make sure u r taking home the right fur baby, they even help u with gender if u aren't sure. I went in Saturday February 25, and I bought 3 parakeets and 3 cages for my kids to have their first small pets. I've owned birds in the past myself so have some experience. My kids were so excited and in love. Within the first 48 hours (the ridiculously short time period they guarantee their health) the first, sweetest bird had died. I woke up this morning ( March 1 ) to both of the other 2 birds dead on the bottom of the cage. With the first bird we had to bring in the body and receipt and they gave another bird. Now they expect us to bring in the other 2, however there is absolutely no way I want any more animals from their pet store. The woman we've dealt with with has been dismissive and pretty rude. The experience has been a complete nightmare. My kids are now traumatized and just waiting for the last bird to die. At least I'm out over $225. and have really upset children. If I were you, I'd definitely avoid this store and go somewhere else. read more

This is the worse pet store in Palmdale I recently bought a pink finch bird for $389 which was too damn high anyway and the guy and woman told me after he slide my credit card that there is no refunds. The next day it died basically he sold me a sick fucking bird and I want everyone to know about this because they took advantage of me and got over . I bought two birds this time for a cheaper price $22 at petco and they are happy and healthy and loves to plsy the finch did not chirp fly play nothing and this is a big lesson to learn from never again .watch Out for them 2 please ppl. read more

This pet store has sold us 3 rats that did not live over a year .We took good care of them clean cages,proper diet of food,and vitamins for rats.I believe they are selling sick animals.I brought one to them because I figured maybe a calmer environment would be better and they said he would not get a home that he would be snake food.I brought him back home he died 2 moths later.I do not recommend this store read more

I love this store! Family owned I'm assuming, but every time I have a question about a pet or about what food is best, they are my #1 place I go to and/or call. You can literally find anything you need for your pet including shots you can give to your cats and dogs (which saves you money instead of a huge vet bill). One time my dog was having bowel problems and they suggested this stuff to help with it, and it did! I really do love this place and hope it never goes out of business. read more

They have alot of reptiles and fish but they are way overpriced and customer service is really bad! I always feel awkward going in here since they always stare at you in everypart of the store you walk to..Especially the older ladies..I literally only go here for emergencies when I dont feel like driving all the way to walmart for mealworms..They need better prices too! I have only been here once. They have a good selection of items but one female employee "stalked" me the entire time making me feel as though she thought I was going to steal something. I couldn't have a moment to simply browse without her breathing down my neck. She was also rude and condescending, hurrying me out of the store as if she had something better to do. The lady at the front desk gave me attitude when I asked her a question about a bird cage, she wanted 600$ for a crappy cage that didn't even have a perch or a way to secure the feed cups( which were also cheap plastic cups. ) I immediately left that store and I am never going back.
