Stopped in on Saturday around 10:30 am. We were surprised that we were able to be seated in their lovely garden patio along with our dogs . We were served water and waiter took our drink order. The staff didn't refill our water even after asking different staff. When our food arrived, we asked for plates. Food was cooling down, so we grabbed extra plates ourselves. Then after a few minutes a new bowl of soup was dropped in front of me as a kind of hit and run solution. This bothered me because it would've been from the same hairy soup pot. Such a cute spot. You walk through a coffee shop to get to the restaurant and after breakfast, we went further down to visit the cute shops. A lot of plants, paintings, and cute stuff. There is also a brewery if you keep walking that has live music at times. Breakfast was amazing. The food came out really quickly. The pancake was soft and delicious. Had brunch at High Hand Café and everything was spot on. I ordered the brisket skillet and my wife got the classic eggs benedict, both were excellent. The skillet had tender, flavorful smoky brisket pieces with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs and just the right mix of peppers and potatoes underneath. The eggs benedict was rich and creamy, with that smooth hollandaise sauce that makes the whole dish melt together. The portions were generous, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere, surrounded by the nursery and garden area, made it a really relaxing place to eat. The coffee mug had lip stick smug on rim. The potato's were all soft with no crisp or much flavor. I will start this by saying this was my third or fourth visit to this beautiful cafe and it's been charming in the past, but it was anything but this time around. I was there for an early afternoon brunch with a reservation. The hostess met us with nearly contempt, poisoning the vibe right from the beginning. We were given no option to sit outside and when we asked, she walked over for a look before simply sitting us at the worst table inside. A quick glance around was all it took too know the servers weren't enjoying the day either. We opted to try the brisket hash. It arrived quickly, but was amazingly cold. Like it had been prepared in bulk and simply slopped onto the plate with little regard for presentation or quality. We never saw our server again once the food arrived. It's safe to say that the nursery is lovely and can be lovely, but this experience has spoiled my desire to come back. What happened? New ownership? Bad day? i was looking for a cafe with nice outdoor seating and felt drawn to checking this place out. high hand cafe is located in this cozy, charming greenhouse that's attached to the high hand plant nursery. there's so much around here to explore while you wait for your table and/or check out after your meal! my party and i came around what seemed to be peak time. despite being busy, staff were constantly checking in and promptly brought over any specific requests of ours. we ordered the salmon salad, pepperoni pizza, and fish tacos. solid meals -- nothing special. to drink, we had the peach lemonade and mexican coke. refreshing beverages for the hot day. for it being a hot day, i was a bit worried about how it would feel eating outside. however, the outdoor seating is fully covered so that it blocks the sun from coming in. we were able to eat comfortably and not be too sweaty. the only downside is that there were so many flies going around. would i come back here? to eat... maybe.... i kinda feel like i paid a lot for mediocre food. i would forsure come back for the plant nursery though. they had so many gorgeous greenery and gardening items that i'd like to look at more and purchase! read more

Tried High-Hand Café for the first time and it was a nice treat. We made reservations online and were seated right away after checking in. The atmosphere is definitely one of the highlights. The café is inside a nursery, so it's filled with plants and has a beautiful, peaceful vibe. It doesn't have AC, but ceiling fans kept it comfortable enough during our visit. We ordered the smoked brisket hash, banana bread French toast, and the wild hibiscus sparkler which were delicious. Highly recommend the smoked brisket hash if you're into something savory. Customer service was decent but could use a bit of improvement. We asked for straws that never came, so we had to grab them ourselves. Same with water, didn't get a refill until we asked, even after being checked on about the food. They also have a cute little coffee shop next door, which I really appreciated. The coffee was great, and they sell cookies and jams that looked pretty tempting. Parking is available in a lot next to the café, and if it fills up, there's also street parking nearby. All in all, a great spot for brunch or a relaxing meal in a unique garden setting. Just a few small tweaks to the service would have made it perfect! read more

My goodness. Let me start off by saying if you want to have the best experience, you need to visit during the week. My hubs and I visited on a Thursday shortly after they opened and they had ample parking and seating wherever we wanted to sit. The handmade seasoned chips and artichoke dip was absolutely delicious. The chips were perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. Some were more coated than others but that's what you should expect when things are handmade and delicious. The artichoke dip was cool and refreshing. The only thing I would say is give a little more dip with the amount of chips you get. My hubs and I were savoring each bite and were conservative per each chip and dip bite and we ran out with a bunch of chips left. I'm sure we could have asked Adam for more, but eh, it wasn't that big of deal, the chips were good without it. The other item we ordered was the pear bacon pizza. Woah!! Talk about a flavor rush! There were pear slices, bacon, blue cheese crumbles and a fig reduction. *insert drool* The pizza crust was perfection. It didn't even need a dipping sauce and I'm a sauce lover. Get this pizza if you enjoy flavor and something different. We will definitely be back for both of those food items! We also had a hazy beer and the hibiscus sparkler to drink. First time here, honestly I never even heard of this place, my wife was recommended to visit, so she made reservation, nestled in a plant nursery. Surrounded by small shops where canned and jarred goods are sold is high hand cafe, I forgot about taking a pick of the homemade potato chips with artichoke dip. But trust me...get them! The tea was cold and fresh, and they came often to fill them up. Their food is farm to fork fresh, the tri tip sando was good , served with a phenomenal potato salad and the bread it was on tasted fresh baked. But the brick oven pizza definitely is something to write home about. Seated in the center of the large atrium space was wonderful, especially on a very warm day. The service throughout was amazing, friendly, upbeat and attentive. We felt like pampered guests. I ordered the shrimp salad and it was one of the best salads ever, so fresh and built with candied nuts and lots of great additions, including pear and feta. The grilled shrimp were absolutely delicious. They have me the dressing on the side so I could add whatever I wanted. The wait was only 25 mins, but I swear it was faster than that. Our table was surrounded by tranquil Japanese Maple trees. I even spotted a Koi pond. I ordered their Egg Benedict. It was served on a homemade biscuit that was light, buttery and slightly crumbly instead of a toasted English muffin. After we ate, we walked around the nursery and went inside another building where you could taste a plethora of infused balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I'd give this zero stars if my food wasn't ok. The service was non-existent. My wife's Hamburger was supposedly the best thing on the menu. I've seen better from Burger King. Dry no sauce and by the time our waiter came by to check it was cold and he seemed unconcerned she hadn't touched it. What an amazing find out here in Loomis, right next to the border of Rocklin. It's a HUGE facility with so much for everyone - a brewery on one side with live music and a sound stage if you'd like to grab some beers or cocktails with friends. There are a ton of little beautiful artisan shops connected in a covered walkway with an olive oil tasting store, local artists showing their wares, and an outdoor garden/home goods store as well. The nursery connects the stores to the cafe - plenty of beautiful plants, trees, and succulents available for purchase. The cafe and the coffeeshop are on one side of the facility next to the parking area. All the staff are so friendly and happy - everyone is helpful and there to make your morning brunch or family outing fun and enjoyable. The cafe itself has a delicious brunch menu with perfect house potatoes, delicious eggs benedict, and delicious brisket scramble/eggs. Parking can be tricky when it's super popular/busy, but there's a huge lot adjacent so you may just need to walk a little way. It was busy when we arrived on a Saturday but it gave us plenty of time to browse. They take your number and text you when your table is ready. Lots of choices for a hearty and/or healthy lunch.
