Finally got to High Hand and oh what a time! Before I begin..make reservations! I'm so glad we did. I arrived minutes before the cafe opened and the line was out to the parking lot. Most had reservations and further reservations for the day were closed. We were in the check in line and seated within 10 minutes. William took excellent care of our table. We quickly determined a return visit (with more friends) was a mandatory. I ordered the Blackberry lemonade and the peach salad with salmon. Absolutely delicious! The salmon had a beautiful sear and the blood orange vinaigrette is worth writing home about..oh my goodness! My friend wanted to try the peach cobbler so we ordered one to share, assuming it would be a dessert portion...wrong! Easily shareable for two (as in two sizable dessert portions) and served with ice cream. Some of the peaches were tart which I'm unfamiliar with in a cobbler, and the crust was a mix of crust and crumble, which I'm also unfamiliar with. We then walked the nursery and saw a plethora of plants we've never heard of. High Hand is a must visit!

This place is Amazing! The most beautiful nursery cafe in loomis. Our family and friends love coming here for brunch. The food is really yummy. I enjoy the eggs Benedict or the shrimp tacos, but literally anything you try is amazing! There is usually a wait but walking around the nursery makes the time fly by if u don't have a reservation. I highly recommend this establishment.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The aesthetics here are gorgeous. It is nestled in high hand nursery and the live plants really do make the restaurant beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came on a busy weekend and waited 40 minutes for a table. It didn't feel that long because I was able to browse for a new plant while waiting. I had the pretzel 9/10. The beer cheese wasn't as strong as I would have liked it but it tasted delish. The crab Benedict 9/10. It was real crab and was fried beautifully. Overall the place was nice but the food was expensive. It's a nice treat.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a beautiful spot for lunch or brunch with built in garden and shopping--it doesn't get much better than that![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had been hearing about this place for years but it's honestly better than the hype. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is like a large greenhouse/patio with a nearby koi pond, adjacent to the nursery, providing even more lush greenery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cafe menu includes some starters like homemade potato chips, sandwiches, salads and soups, as well as fun mocktails and delicious desserts. There is a wonderful art gallery on site, as well as a garden shop, boutique and brewery. I had a chicken salad sandwich, faux margarita, and carrot cake (most of which I took to go) and it was all really good. Destined to become a favorite!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved visiting this lovely nursery cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such an oasis of blooms and country air with comfy food for breakfast or lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I met my friend for lunch, but I wanna come qnd try breakfast and also pizzas on future visits!

We wanted to check this cafe out because it also has a nursery. We came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. RSVP is highly recommended. The couple in front of us was given an hour wait time. The food was good but the service was top notch! Our server Logan was attentive and kind. The staff refilling water and tea didn't miss a beat. We were surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. We can't wait to come back and try their other items. Crab cakes had a great amount of crab. Loved their potato salad that came with the tuna sandwich. One of the best tuna sandwiches I've ever had. The orange salad was light and refreshing not overly dressed.

If you haven't been to High Hand Cafe, go. Immediately. The High Hand grounds include a full plant nursery, boutique shops, an art gallery, a brewery, and the cafe itself, so it's not just a meal, it's an experience. I ordered from the lunch menu and had the tri-tip sandwich, cooked perfectly with a buttery, smoky flavor balanced by avocado and a rich bleu cheese sauce. Every bite delivered and the portion was adequate. We started with mesquite chips and artichoke dip, which were absolutely delicious. But the true star of the meal was the house-made potato salad. It had dill and sweet pickles folded into a perfectly seasoned potato slaw. I'll definitely be back to try their brunch and explore more of the lunch menu. The wait was about 40 minutes, but there's so much to see while you wait. When your table is ready, they text you, which makes it easy to explore the grounds without hovering around the host stand. They also have live music near the brewery later in the evening (the live band schedule is on their website)

I'm giving this three stars mainly because of the front-of-house experience. We came for Sunday brunch and were quoted a 1-1.5 hr wait, which we were fine with. However, the hostess's attitude made the wait frustrating. She gave vague answers while looking visibly annoyed, avoided eye contact, and often sighed or rolled her eyes when guests asked about wait times. After the initial 1.5 hours had passed, someone from our group checked in and she sounded irritated just being asked for an update. We also had a child scrape his hand, and while I thought about asking for a Band-Aid, watching her interact with other guests made it clear it probably wasn't worth it, so we went back to our car for first aid. I understand it was a very busy day, but this is the first interaction guests have, and it really sets the tone of the rest of the meal. Once we were seated, the experience improved significantly. The setting is lovely, with gardens, a greenhouse, and a koi pond that makes waiting more enjoyable. The servers were friendly and helpful, made good recommendations, and everyone in our group enjoyed their food. Drinks were delicious too. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were excellent, but the hostess experience was disappointing enough to bring the rating down. This place would likely benefit from an additional hostess during peak hours or may be hire someone who actually wants to talk to people.

First time at High Hand Café and I'm really glad we made a reservation for a Saturday morning at 9am because this place gets packed. Parking was easy, but finding the café was part of the experience since you walk through the nursery before reaching the restaurant. The hostess greeted us right away and service was excellent from start to finish. We had the breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict. I ordered the garden Benedict and added bacon, which was a great call. The Benedict was good. The burritos were decent, probably around a 3.5 out of 5, but the potatoes were solid. Espresso was exactly what you would expect, simple and well done. The ambience is what really makes this place special. It feels like you are dining inside a bright, open greenhouse surrounded by plants and flowers. Tons of natural light, greenery everywhere, and just a really cool, relaxed vibe. Easily one of the more unique cafés in the Placer County area. After eating we walked around the nursery, which has a koi pond, beautiful plants, a great succulent selection, and a few little shops tucked throughout. Overall a really cool spot and somewhere I would definitely bring friends from out of town. I would absolutely come back.

Be sure to reserve ahead of time on their website! I can see why this place gets busy, especially with large parties to partake in festivities together, surrounded by beautiful nature scenery. That being said, make no mistake you're paying for the gorgeous ambience and scenery. IMHO, the food was mediocre. Service was fantastic and, with our reservation, our party of 5 was seated promptly. Food was good, don't get me wrong, but not worth all the hype surrounding the tons of egg benedict reviews and at the price point compared to others similar. We've had much better egg benedict worth around the same price, if not cheaper. Was also shocked when pancakes for $17 only included 2 pancakes, not even blueberry pancakes were available per our server. Pancakes were medicore.. we've had better from mom and pops breakfast joints. Breakfast burrito was subpar compared to other Mexican spots. Crab cakes were decent, but not anything special nor at the level of other steakhouses at the same price point. This eatery is wonderful for any occasion if you're looking for gorgeuous surroundings, especially with incredible greenery all around. Just don't expect much from the food. We were told the wild hibiscus sparkler was popular and tasty so we went with it instead of the classic mimosas. We beg to differ.. should've stuck to the original plan with mimosas! Definitely recommend to give this spot a try, if you haven't already. Although we won't be returning, we were grateful for the experience!

We went on a busy day for brunch and expected to wait. It was about a 45 minute wait but there is a bunch to do while waiting. We sat inside and it was a bit warm. The crab cakes were amazing and I would get them again. I got the goat cheese pizza and someone else got the pepperoni pizza and we were all really underwhelmed with the flavor. The crust was good but the flavor was not there so we asked for balsamic vinegar and that did help a bit. Someone got the salmon bowl and loved it. I think the prices are too high for simple things, like $18 for a single pancake with no sides. The hand-made lemonade is great but not worth the $8.

This is absolutely one of the cutest diner/café/stores/gardens that I've been to, all in one. If I were hosting family, I would absolutely take them here because there is so much to do and see. It wasn't hard to get a table on a weekday, and although there is both indoor and outdoor seating and the walls look thin, the whole area is well heated. We were seated right by a Christmas tree and had ample space and privacy for our conversation/catch up lunch! We decided to split a pizza, as they looked quite large and delicious at other tables, and we were able to get half butternut squash and half chicken pesto. We also got coffee, which the waiter was attentive about filling up. I would be happy with this place for the vibe and ambience alone, but the great quality of the food made it a true stand out in my mind! I will definitely be back!

    Is it dog friendly?

Call ahead, may be allowed outside.

Does anyone know if the garden dining would be hot during the summer months?

Not hot. They have good air conditioning. Been there summer and winter both. It's inside a large green house.

Do they offer brunch on weekdays?

I believe brunch is served only on the weekends.

Hi, does anyone know what's in the artichoke dip? I want to take my parent here but my step dad has food allergies.

Is this open today for Christmas Eve?

    Till 3pm.

    Is this place dog friendly?

Absolutely! In the cafe dogs are allowed on our patio and nursery seating but not in the greenhouse. The only other places we ask you to be mindful of bringing your dogs would be the art gallery and the olive oil store. We look forward to seeing you… Read more

    Do you take reservations?

    Yes

    What are the vegan options?

    Vegetarian wrap, salads

I'm looking at the menu photos and it seems to change slightly. Is it a good place for vegetarians? Menu looks average. I'm coming here this weekend -- not my choice -- but I'm hoping to get something besides salad.

They have pizza which is good and some have no meat. They have a portobello sandwich. Everything is good here. We love this place.

Do they have any gluten free options?

They have some delicious meal sized salads!

Is the kitchen and waitstaff willing to work with dietary needs? I see no mention of any gluten free alternatives. Is there a children's menu?

It's not a great place for kids and they definitely don't have a kids menu

Can I book a table for 6 on Sunday?

Yes, they actually prefer reservations for groups. If you show up on the weekends without a reservation, you'll be waiting 1 1/2 - 2 hours, minimum.

I still feel like this feedback should be given though, because the situation could have been avoided... When I arrived there was no one in line in front of me. I place an order for a single latte then waited... Then I waited and waited. It took 30 minutes to receive my latte. That is truly unacceptable. I will explain the situation further. There was 1 person working at the shop. She was kind and had a positive attitude. However there was an issue with the order of operations. She was constantly taking everyone's orders, and no one was there to make the drinks. Generally a coffee shop will take an order, maybe 2, then make the orders that were already taken. But this was not the case. She continued to take orders until the coffee shop was completely full of people waiting for their order. The people there were getting anxious and one couple told me they have already been waiting 30 minutes for their food. They were talking to each other and mentioned that they might need to abandon their food and leave because they had an appointment. They asked about the food and the girl mentioned that it might be another 5 minutes. They anxiously waited. Luckily, some girl rushed in and started working. But this entire time a man was standing awkwardly behind the counter with his own coffee. A customer asked him if he was making drinks and he told him, "No, I'm just the owner." That is odd to me. I also heard from a regular that they thought the owner was a female, so maybe his is a co-owner? Regardless, he did not help and he did not give customers a good impression. It seemed inappropriate also for him to drink his coffee behind the counter. The perception that customers have mean something... But after the second employee started working, orders slowly began to be fulfilled. The upset customers slowly received their food and drinks. It took me 30 minutes (around 28 really) to receive mine. The drink itself was okay, but order of operations did not make sense for the situation. I hope that this feedback is taken in a constructive way. The coffee shop itself is in a great location and had nice decor. The tables were clean. And the employee was nice. But it would be helpful to have a heads up when they are that far behind. They should mention the wait time. And it makes sense to take care of orders before accepting new orders. I personally won't be back, but others I spoke to mentioned this experience was not the usual, so that is hopeful.
