TBH, when a friend suggest dining here, I was a little sceptical; especially when we walked in and I saw the kitschy decor. However, the menu looked good and so we ordered onion rings (to share), an outlaw burger (friend), and the tri tip dip sandwich (for me). The latter two included a side, so we went with the (seasoned) fries and a baked potato (because I love a good baked potato). Looks can be deceiving y'all! The food here is better than expected. We enjoyed both the burger and the sandwich. I will say though, the sandwich was suppose to have horseradish aioli and I did not get any taste of horseradish. Both also came with a pickle spear, which was not too vinegary. My baked potato was just ok; plenty of melted cheese, enough sour cream,but no butter. The fries were fine, just seasoned fries, and the onion rings were plenty crisp...but I wasn't getting a lot of actual onion. Service was friendly, if a wee bit distracted. Took a while after we were seated to place an order with our waitress, but the guy delivered water pretty quickly upon seating. And our server was excellent at helping me select an entree. Instead of showing basic courtesy, security dismissed my request without any consideration. Denying someone access to a restroom in an urgent situation is not just inconvenient--it's outright disrespectful. A business that welcomes the public should have staff that understands the difference between enforcing rules and exercising reasonable judgment. I hope management re-evaluates how their team handles these situations, because this was unacceptable. I urge management to reconsider how security handles situations like this. Ignoring basic courtesy and human necessity reflects poorly on the establishment. I hope this review prompts meaningful change. Take this as a message to respect their community. I use to work here when it was Florentines, and I thought it looked big back then but now it looks even booger. Gives you the country, "incahoots" vibe. We had some food that was delicious. I'm from out of town the menu looked good so we came for Friday night dinner. Got sat right away but our server was absent besides when she took my order and brought the check I was having to ask other people for silverware and a napkins. I asked for a condiment and by the time she came by ny table I was already finished with my meal. Food was okay. Order a steak medium and they didn't let it rest so I had blood all over my plate. Also ordered the loaded baked potato and I could get something better at a food truck 4 little pieces of meat and no butter. Just was not happy. The atmosphere seemed cool and would probably go to the bar if I wasn't so annoyed that my dinner was average. YET AGAIN... I usually don't take the time to leave negative reviews, but our experience at this club was so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. My husband was unjustly kicked out for supposedly being "drunk," which was completely untrue. He had barely started his night and was nowhere near intoxicated. No breathalyzer, no genuine assessment--just an impulsive and FRANKLY HUMILIATING ejection based on pure assumption or bias and because he was sitting alone... What made it worse was the fact that the staff changed their tune immediately after realizing he was with two women--myself and a friend. Suddenly, the tone softened, and the previously stern and dismissive bouncer miraculously had a change of heart. Apologies started flowing, but by then, the damage had been done. The bouncer apologized but we felt the need to leave before it escalated... The message was loud and clear: this club is more concerned with appearances and snap judgments than actually treating people with fairness or respect and as long as a man is sitting alone, watching his wife and caring for her safety, they must be "drunk." It's incredibly troubling that someone's treatment at this establishment hinges on superficial optics rather than facts or integrity. If you're looking for a place that values professionalism, consistency, or basic human decency, look elsewhere. There are plenty of venues in this city that don't play these games or make people feel like they're only welcome under certain conditions. Do better. I will NEVER return to this club after this maltreatment YET AGAIN because they kicked my husband out for simply SITTING DOWN ALONE, making sure his wife and friend were dancing without him. Friday early dinner... arrived and seated just before 6pm but didn't have a server approach until nearly 615pm. Bummed they didn't give the good customer service of a quick approach to explain or encourage happy hour as we would've spent/purchased more if known. There was a larger party near us celebrating a birthday which was nice. Lots of smaller groups as well. Surprisingly no coat hooks so we hung out coats on the barstools nearby. The service was friendly but could've been more informative to go over options and preferences. The TVs are nice. The ambiance was also nice, informal and very themed. Western movies on one screen, specials and events on another. I had the ribs which were fall off the bone. We didn't try the coleslaw. The potatoes were ok. The bbq sauce was heavy and spicier than I'd like, it was better when I wiped off most of it but it's not cool to have to do that with cocktail napkins on a date. Date had a beautiful steak that he raved about and the mashed potatoes disappeared quickly so I think he liked them. I ate the veggies and they were good, not too Al dente and not burnt. I never really go out late at night, but since it was Halloween weekend I figured what the hell. I've heard a lot about this place and it lived up to the hype! We went on Friday night and wow it was packed. Food was unfortunately done for the night when we got there but we quickly forgot about that. The music was really good and the drinks were great. The pink and green bombs were really strong and tasty. Upon entry, I seen how spacious and clean the restaurant is. I went for a networking event so many women but plenty of seating. Our hostess was Denise. Wow, what a rockstar! Do you know she single handed took orders, bar orders and rang folks up. Again, wow what a great multitasker with such an amazing and upbeat personality. Customers were so happy as the food and drinks came out so quickly. I can honestly say, all staff were happy but I only remembered Denise name. My potato-shredded pulled pork was amazing. Oh and I asked for a coke with cherries. Yes, Denise delivered and refilled me up when I was done. Again, she was so attentive and courteous. I can't wait to return with my hubby. I really wanted to like this place. Location is in downtown Fullerton in the middle of everything. I loved the ambiance and the country live singer on a Wednesday night. The service was fine but food was just not it. We ordered the deviled eggs and they were too salty. I ordered the Trading Post Thai Salad with chicken skewers. The chicken was raw and the salad was too soggy with dressing. My friend ordered a Ranch House Salad with steak skewers. Unfortunately, the steak was bland and tough. The highlight was the pretzel. Got to check out HHS yesterday as my wife and I had been hearing good things. We walked in and were kindly greeted immediately by a host who was quite nice in asking if we wanted a table or bar, we elected to sit at the bar as we were solely having drinks. We sat down and Jake was right there to greet us, also very friendly, and got us some menus. I ordered some rye neat, my wife a bloody mary. My wife really enjoyed her drink. I began having a conversation with Jake about whiskey which I enjoy doing and it was very nice to speak with someone knowledgeable about it. We had a couple rounds and thoroughly enjoyed our experience hanging out with Jake at the bar, such a nice person who we definitely will come back to hang with. Really created a great experience for us. As for the place, it's also very clean as were the restrooms (that's a big one). We're gonna have to try the food next time too. This place is a cool trendy bar with boots hanging from the bar and a mixture of current and classic country music. It's great that you can make reservations which I did for a Saturday night. When we arrived it took us a second to see the sign that said to walk to the back to see a server which seemed a little weird. But our server was great and super attentive, especially when we needed another drink! My friends and I all ordered one of their signature cocktails, the Honey Hive was by far the best drink that was ordered. If you like more of a smokey/spicy drink definitely order Waylon's Oasis Margarita. You can't go wrong with the Big as Texas Pretzel as an appetizer it can without a doubt be split between 4 people! For our entrees myself and two of my friends ordered the Saloon Steak, everything was great besides the mixed veggies. They didn't seemed to be cooked throughly and weren't really well seasoned. My other friend ordered the Steak Loaded Baked Potato and she absolutely loved it! Just coming over here to give High Horse Saloon some love. We hit up Happy Hour and it might be the best in town right now. It's from 3:00 to 6:00 and includes great food options: burgers with fries, Cobb Salad and a lot of other options for $11 or less. They also have really good drink specials. This is where I really failed because we got almost no food photos! We were having too much fun. Everything was delicious but I want to tell you that the service was exceptional. We had a big group for a birthday and our server, Irvin (sp?) never missed a beat and always had a smile on his face. If you are looking for a great place for a celebration, this is your spot. We have been here three times and very much enjoy the food, salon atmosphere and drinks. Inside it's roomy with a very large bar that is in a horseshoe shape. The boots hanging from the ceiling adds a nice touch. There are very large and long booths as well as tables with chairs. There are shutters that open up to allow outside air from Harbor Blvd. Unfortunately the noise from the passing cars, motorcycles etcetera can be loud and disturbing, but the food and atmosphere is worth it. The first time we went our service was top notch and our server was very attentive. This time around our server was much slower and not very attentive checking in with us. It wasn't that crowded @ 5:00pm, but it seemed like we were always waiting for our waiter to come by to ask for items we needed. However he was very kindly towards us. The atmosphere is casual, lively being open towards Harbor street noise plus the people enjoying dinner and drinks. You can enter through the back where parking is or the front off Harbor. Parking is free from a certain time but not sure what those times are...sorry. There is street parking as well. There are separate bathrooms for both men and women. I believe they have either live country music later in the evening on weekends and you can dance. They part the tables. My husband and I have only split the yummy chicken sandwich that is grilled, with melted white cheese, lettuce, tomato on a brioche bun with fries. It's on the happy hour menu as well as the regular menu. We very much enjoy it and it fills us up along with splitting a salad (in the pic). To enter where the hostess station is, park in the lot behind the 100 block of Harbor and enter through the alley. There are two bars connected, Mickey's on the left and High Horse to the right. We arrived at 5pm on a Friday night to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it wasn't too busy. Plenty of open seating at the bar, so that's where we sat. No one acknowledged us for several minutes, so I had to open up my Yelp to peruse the menu. Two groups came in after us, sat at the bar, and a waitress passed by and handed them menus. We were completely ignored and eventually got tired of waiting, so we grabbed a bartender's attention for menus. Finally, we were asked what we'd like to order, so we got the Waylon Jennings cocktail and an old fashioned. Both were very good. I placed an order for the burger with mushrooms and tots. The burger was delicious and came with the best French fries. The tots were perfectly crisp and tasty as well. The food was really outstanding, but we dine out frequently, and we rarely get ignored. We had planned to stay longer and have more drinks to celebrate my husband's birthday, but our celebratory mood was clouded by our experience with the staff. read more

My husband and I really loved having dinner here! We walked in on a Saturday night around 7 and sat at the bar. This place definitely has a cool aesthetic that even someone who isn't a huge country music fan or western geek would appreciate, as I can attest. The vibe is just fun, with lots of patrons and good times. The bartenders were awesome for how perfectly timed their service was; they didn't rush us at all and only came by when it was clear we needed refills, which is the kind of intuitive service I like! Everything came out at the exact right time (drinks, appetizer, and meals). Our cocktails were great (I had the Skinny Dipper twice, very refreshing and easy to drink) and the pretzel appetizer was super good, like a standout pretzel appetizer among the many that exist out there; they give you a generous amount of beer cheese with it too. My husband got the steak medium-rare and mentioned it was more medium when it came out, but he still enjoyed it; the corn and mashed potatoes were the better part of his meal. I really liked the Caesar salad and basically devoured it, which doesn't happen often when I order a salad (I usually eat half or so and leave the bowl still pretty full); the croutons on it were delightful and so unique tasting. It was nice to sit right in front of a bar TV too, since we got to watch the UFC fight. The restaurant filled up quite a bit while we were there until we left around 9:30, but the nicely balanced service never wavered! We'll definitely be back here even as we continue to explore the rest of DTF's restaurant/bar scene. We live close by and hadn't tried the Saloon until tonight, but I'm so glad we did! read more

Went on Saturday night for the first time. I will say we had great service and food / drinks were all served with great timing. We all ordered some drinks off of their cocktail menu. We all thought they were tasty - not like wow best cocktails ever but definitely better than your average! I really liked the What Would Dolly Do and the Skinny Dipper. For apps our group started with the brussel sprouts (omg so good), jalapeno corn bread, and the deviled eggs. All of them super tasty - no complaints! For dinners I ordered the tritip french dip which was delicious. Someone else ordered the bowl of chili and corn bread which they said was tasty but unfortunately soup wasn't very hot. The others ordered the steak loaded baked potatoes which they all really enjoyed. I saw they do Yellowstone watch parties on Sunday nights which is fun. They have DJs and live music on other nights, offer happy hour, etc. Overall I think will be a great addition to Downtown Fullerton. read more

This review is exclusively for the weekend late-night atmosphere: Around 9-10 all of the tables and chairs are removed and this place turns from sit down restaurant to a decently sized dance floor. They also create a little walkway if people need to get to the other side of the restaurant which is nice as it doesn't really affect the size of the dance floor. The DJ plays a variety of music and is decently loud but not too loud where it is blowing out your eardrums. One thing I really liked was how big the actual bar is, so there is enough space for you to squeeze in somewhere, and the bartenders are attentive and quick to serve. If you want to sit down and take a break from all the dancing you can walk next door to Mickeys Irish Pub which is literally connected through a hallway. Overall a fun place for a night of drinks and dancing. read more

I had a great evening at the high horse. Overstayed our welcome perhaps in the cozy booth. The deviled eggs and cornbread were delicious. I was a bit disappointed that my Pinot Grigio wasn't happy hour like it normally is. But I switched to Chardonnay and the pricing was a little confusing on my check. The 10 ounce ribeye was good but not overwhelming in any way. The savior of the evening was the service, which was spectacular by Amber!
